We had such a wonderful time! It was fun, challenging and exciting. We had two teens and they loved it. We were successful to unlock our room and as soon as we were done, our teens start planing the next visit! Secret Society room was pretty challenging! Highly recommend as a family fun!

My friend really wanted to go try an escape room for her birthday. Since we were looking within a week, there weren’t many options left(we checked Escape Room Live, Escape the Room, etc.). Luckily we found a slot for Secret Society on a busy Saturday! This was my first escape room experience, but it was amazing! Other members of my party who had done other escape rooms in DC were impressed and said it was the best one they’ve been to. The staff was very friendly, and gave us good instructions. I had been a little apprehensive at the thought of being«locked» in a room for an hour with 5 other people, but the hour literally flew by. I thought the clues were just challenging enough that it took a while to get to the end, but not too hard to the point that you gave up. It was helpful to have more people to bounce ideas off of(we had 6), but I could see how having more would start detracting from the experience(too much stuff going on and not everyone being part of figuring out all of the clues). No spoilers, but definitely would recommend. The level of detail and the effects were top notch, it really felt like we were on a mission. It’s a little pricey, but then again, it’s not like you’ll do the same room twice.

My wife and I came here for Valentines Day and had a lot of fun. We did the Cosa Nostra game and played detectives searching for clues to link mafia to a high ranking politician in a 1930s speakeasy. Highly recommend for a fun date night.

I never heard of escape rooms until my meetup organizer posted this event. She said that she found out about it on groupon and I decided to give it a go. Well, I’m really glad I did. This is a fun activity that is a total departure from typical HH and dinner. We had four people total in our group and the theme was of the 1930s prohibition era – think mafia, speakeasy bar, bootleggers and the like. As soon as the doors close, the clock starts and you have an hour to complete the total mission. All of the clues are logical and some things were hiding in plain sight. It’s a great game to get you to use your thinking cap. The staff was very helpful and gave clear instructions. They were also very personable. I would totally do something like this again. I do want to make a note – you can bring up to seven people but I would keep it to four or five at the most. Also, some people can be super competitive to the point that it may put a damper of the fun for others, so keep that in mind. I look forward to trying another escape room. I give five stars for awesome fun!

We got a gift voucher for Christmas and were planning to try the Secret Society room. However, we were told the Groupon voucher we were given could not be used for that room. The Groupon voucher indicated no restrictions regarding rooms– only for times. They would not honor the coupon unless we chose the room we weren’t interested in. This is bad business. They should honor the voucher. If they are still selling the Groupon package they should make sure to change the information so no one else gets annoyed and returns their voucher. If asked I would tell anyone to avoid businesses that would do this. We were going to bring additional people so they would have made additional money. Also the room we wanted was still not booked on Sunday early which was within the timeframe stipulated on the voucher. We love to do fun stuff like this and would have been generous with our review if we had a good time. We will try another Escape Room. One that has a lot more reviews with 5 stars.

Not a Unilocaler — but after checking this place out, I really wanted to write a review. I had heard of Escape Rooms before from friends and the internet, so I was very curious to experience one in person. From what I gathered from other reviews and research on other Escape Rooms in other cities, is that people typically ended up in one of two types of places… 1) A generic room with a very basic narrative/theme, with most puzzles being a «find a key to this Lock» which will lead you to «another key that goes to another a lock» — Very Lineal and in the end, you leave having done something for the first time, but not feeling really challenged and most likely wouldn’t be up for spending money on doing another Escape Room again. 2) A well thought out & immersive experience, great narrative story, intricate puzzles, and big on production value with attention to detail & décor. With so many Escape Rooms opening up in Washington DC over the past several months, I feared that most were of the first variety — in which owners did the bare minimum to create an attraction to basically jump on the bandwagon of a new trend, with not a lot of money or time invested to creating something memorable. Just in it to make a quick buck while its hot. I was so happy to see that this place was like the latter. Without going into detail as I don’t want to spoil potential experiences — I can say that I was really surprised about the overall production value, the special effects, and how detailed and intricate they got with the rooms. It really was an immersive experience. The staff was very nice and helpful — We were running a little late getting there, and they accommodated us. You can tell that they really care about the customer experience, want you to have fun, and want repeat business. As for the puzzles themselves, they are challenging, but not impossible. One piece of advice is to not overthink certain things as you might miss some very blatant and obvious clues. Also — it goes without saying that it’s best if you go with a group that are like-minded people that can work in a group. Certain people have a tendency to get tyrannical which will spoil the experience for others. We did The Secret Society Room. Will definitely return to try the other rooms. Highly Recommend.

I found this through a GROUPON deal and had a group of 7. It was the first time any of us had done an escape room challenge and we had a great time. The clues were fun and challenging and we had a blast working together to figure it out. Highly recommend!

I went there with my family of 5 ranging in ages from 7 to 47 and fun was had by all. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere unhurried. The only tip I would give, if you are on the 47 end of the age range, bring your reading glasses and a flashlight.

We went as a group of 7 and did the speakeasy room. It was really fun and challenging and the staff was great. They are always building new rooms so we will definitely be coming back in 3 weeks to do their new room!

Awesome place, found it by accident, but really glad we did. The 1 room that is open right now was a lot of fun. The whole thing is very put together. Tons of fun, couldn’t recommend it more.

Found them on Google, it was the only choice because other escape rooms were closed on Monday, but finally happy that we found that gem — we all had so much fun! The main theme of the room plays everywhere — from soundtrack to every little puzzle. All puzzles and clues are very logical and sequential — no stupid locks and keys, you feel like you are really completing a mission. Several movie-like wow effects in the game startled us and made us laugh, and the level of details and realism is very high. Great experience! We’ll come back again when they will finish a new room.
