Halftime Sports Bar

The name is the only thing sports related. I went here thinking I could watch some playoff basketball and it was more like a bar with tvs and really loud music. Never been to a sportbar with a dj. Didn’t stay long to order a drink or food to rate the service.

I didn’t even to give a star, so last night I went here for the Super Bowl and the service was terrible as well as $ 76 check… my order was wings, fries & 3 patron margarita’s. The waitress acted as if she didn’t want to pick things up or take our orders… NEVER GOING BACK!!!

I love their wings. I love their wings. Did I say that I love their wings?
One day, while using instagram, I stumbled across Halftime Sport’s Bar page. I decided to follow their page since the pictures of their chicken wing platters looked very good. As time passed, I would look at tons of advertisements and pictures of those very scrumptuous-​looking wings that Halftime would post on their Instagram account. I knew one day, I would finally decide to visit Halftime and get a taste of those delicious-​looking wings myself. That «one day» finally happened.
I decided to stop by Halftime near the end of a recent Monday Night Football game and order a wing platter. The place was half full of people, who were there for the game. As soon as the bartender saw me, she took my «to go» order. My wings were ready in less than ten minutes. I paid the bartender. I opened the tray and almost passed out from joy. Their wings sure passed the «look» test. In what seems less than a second, my mouth watered. I closed the tray and drove home quickly.
After arriving home, I eagerly dug into the wings. The wings were as good as advertised. They were very crispy and hot. They were fully cooked to my specifications. The meat was tender and not rubbery. The wings were not overly greasy. I repeat, there were among the best wings that I ever had the pleasure of tasting in my life.
On another visit, which was during a Redskins game, I ordered some of their wings with old bay seasoning. Those wings were cooked so good and tasted so well, I almost cried tears of joy.
Aside from the food, I was satisfied with the service that I received from the bartender. The bartender checked with me often and made the drinks stronger as the night went on. Even though the place was packed and there were a ton of people standing around the bar, the bartender did not miss a beat. Actually, I was MORE than satisfied with the bartender.
The atmosphere was pretty festive and the crowd either cheered or otherwise at the performance of the home team while enjoying the food and drinks at Halftime.
It is safe to say that I will be a regular at Halftime from this point forward. Each time I visit Halftime, I will definitely be sure to order and enjoy their great wings. Not to repeat myself, but I love their wings!

I have never been inside an establishment and had such urgency to write a review. This place is amazing!!! The service is impeccable!!! Food, superb!!! This is the first of many for me!!!

I went there for a friends birthday Saturday and they had good bar food, strong drinks and a pretty good live dj. I look forward to trying the outside patio area in the near future.

First time here and their Tuesday happy hour is great! %50 off drinks and appetizers… the wings are beyond, especially the sweet chilli wings!
Derrick was the bartender tonight… and he made excellent drinks! The service was definitely on point. I can’t wait until next Tuesday… I will be back!!!

Terrible layout. Only two TV channels there is only one place to both sit and watch a TV. The rest of the seating relative to sports viewing is terrible and awkward. The bar seating is ok. Could use a space planner, more seating, a cable package centered on sports viewing…

Went here to meet with a friend to watch a Caps game, and when we asked for hockey they looked at us like we were speaking a foreign language. The world series was on and it was on every TV, so surely they could spare one for us with nothing else going on right? Eventually, they did, but it was an endeavor and then some.
We ordered wings which were pretty good, but instead of the wings being tossed around in the buffalo sauce it came on the side, even after we requested it. Had they gone that extra step it would have been beyond awesome. The service was okay too, nothing great, but sometimes we were left unattended for long periods of time… while sitting at the bar no less.
If you’re in a pinch and need to duck into a sports bar on H st, I guess this place will do, but you’d be better off going into any bar in H st with a tv.

Located on 14^th, parking can be a problem so beware. Upon walking in pretty big open space, nice sized bar.
From my understanding the upstairs recently opened up. That too has a large bar, maybe one or two bar tables and this large couch like thing to sit down. It seems like there is a crap ton of regulars that frequent which is pretty cool. Seems like a big ‘ol family.
Patio in the back, looks like that would be dope once it gets warm out.
I personally think the bar prices are on the damn high side. Wings and fries were a la cart, fifteen for them both to be exact, and they weren’t the best. Simply something to base the belly in your pursuit of drunkeness, if that is what you do and all. Don’t judge me folks. I hear they have brunch, perhaps go back and try that.
The bartenders are cool and will chit chat it up, and they make good dranks.
It’s a bar, come to drink, maybe you don’t eat, and simply watch the game.

Just tried to go here to watch the Nats game and it’s closed! Why have hours if you’re not going to follow them… a waste of taxi money.

Terrible experience. Sat at the bar with companion and watched two bartenders ignore us for over 10 minutes. No greeting, no acknowledgement, nothing. Wasn’t that crowded. Became comical, so we just left. The star is for the décor which was cute. Will not return.

Impressed by the food and service! Better than club level at the game. Upon entering, I was nicely asked which team (s) I wanted to watch and was seated with a good vantage point. Unfortunately, I just missed the chicken and waffles brunch but was happy with a delicious basket of crispy, juicy buffalo wings. Nice, laid-​back (but attentive) atmosphere. Not a huge place but there were several televisions broadcasting various games and sufficient seating. Very clean, accessible restrooms. Great location on H Street NE!
I can’t say enough about the bartenders and waiters. I’ll be back!

Attentive bartenders. Daily drink specials & damn good wings. I had bbq & they hit the spot. Clean bathrooms are a plus at any spot & the back patio works for a cigar break. I dig it.
