3 ½ stars. This place definitely has a college bar vibe. Lots of students. Always a big crowd that can get rowdy at times. Don’t be surprised to see a lot of drunk people here. Not the most cleanest place either. Despite the high volume, the bartenders are relatively quick in service, so that’s a plus.

I would have rated this place higher had our bartender not have been the drunkest person at the bar. We got there around 8:30pm on Saturday and the guy was already hammered. He was spilling liquor all over the bar while making drinks, handing out free bottles of beer to any and everyone(frankly he was probably too drunk to operate the POS system). While I sure won’t complain about free drinks all night, Chinese Disco lost a lot of money due to this guy. He also came out from the bar to try to fight a guy. Other than that, the DJ — awesome! The décor — awesome!

This is one of the few places left in Georgetown to go out at night but just isn’t worth it. The venue is small and tends to be either empty or packed with drunk students, the staff are incredibly rude, and the drinks are overpriced. DC has so many better places to offer.

Came here with my husband, sister, and his cousins to celebrate the New Years. So this review is only for their new years party. We spent about $ 180 for a couple for the ticket price which included open bar all night long, light appetizers, and party favors. We got there around 10pm and it was only moderately busy. The only food at the time were carrots and radishes and what looked like hummus. You actually get your drinks pretty fast with all the people there. There was no where to sit down unless you pay for a VIP table. I wore heels that night and was feeling the pain all night long. Around 11pm was when a girl started puking at the VIP table near us. Right on herself and the bench. The management got her out of there and her friends. They didn’t clean up the vomit at all and I made the mistake of sitting in it later on in the night. I had to try and clean up myself with toilet paper because there wasn’t any paper towels. Disgusting. Also someone puked all over the sink in the women’s bathroom, that wasn’t cleaned up either. Gross. The food provided later on was grilled cheese, potstickers, and a grilled sausage sandwiches. I tasted all 3, but my husband said they only would put out like 10 pieces of food on a plate, so the food disappeared once it came out. You had to wait at the food table just to get something to eat. I wished they bartenders would cut people off who looked way way too drunk. That would probably have cut down on the vomiting. The 2 star review is from sitting in vomit. Clean your bar.

Forgot to add that this is a Patriots Bar so I come here on Sundays and Mondays to watch the Patriots– really good food and good crowd, every TV has the game on. Usually $ 25 buckets of beer and $ 5 beers. Not bad priced for Gtown.

Don’t love it, but don’t hate it. The bar is fine, but there crowd makes you feel like you’re with nineteen year olds who have never been to a club before. The place kind of enjoys the image and somewhat advertises it(example: advertising breath mints«in case you vom» for new years). Also, people who work there aren’t the friendliest or most helpful. I’d give it a 2.5 star.

This place is ok… has the potential to be good. but it is filled with really boring people. There are good drink specials and it’s fun to come and watch football or basketball games. SMELLSLIKEVOMIT!!! It always smells really bad idk why. I don’t think it’s actually vomit I think it’s the seafood place next door

Great hidden spot in Georgetown. Usually here for football game watches, and it’s always a good scene — great staff, and solid food. Great vibe, as well! Only one complaint — the name. I know it’s a shout out to Georgetown’s past, but the story takes too long to explain. After they changed the name from«George» I literally expected a disco. Beyond that, it’s a great spot, and perfect for private events!

I was a little bit hesitant at first, honestly because of the name. But I decided to host some friends at the Chinese Disco. I reserved a booth so my friends and I could have a home base. We arrived early but there was still a short line out front. But with our reservation we were able to skip the line. The lights were dim and looked like the dj had just finished setting up. The place was clean and starting to fill up. It is definitely a younger crowd. Mostly college and young professionals. Except for the occasional d-bag its a great crowd. Everybody was there to have fun and enjoy the night. We set up at our booth,(I recommend the DJ both) the shotski came out and one thing led to another. We ended up buying three bottles of champagne and we got a free growler. The bartenders carried the bottles out out with sparklers and and the dj blew a megahorn. Needless to say, we had a crazy night. My favorite part of the night was how quick and responsive the bar tenders were. I have years of experience in the bar/nightclub industry and know how tough it is to build a great bar staff. They anticipated every need and really made the night go smoothly. If your looking for a fancy bar with glass champagne flutes and 30 $ scotches this is not the place for you, Try the W or the Ritz. If your looking for a non pretentious place to hang out with your friends have a few beers theres no better place than ChiDi. Im looking forward to my next Chidi night. I hear their New years party gets crazy.

This football season Chinese Disco got a Chef and whole new menu for football games. Every time I have eaten there since then I have NEVER been disappointed! I highly recommend the Nachos if you are looking for an appetizer to share. I hate nachos, but these are the best I have ever had.

Came for a Penn State game. Love the atmosphere, bartender was great, appreciate the specials, appreciate the conversable noise level. The Cheese Toasty app was delicious. The fans were very friendly(I didn’t go to Penn State but my companion did). The clientele was young, prob about 23 – 24 on average. Pretty people, good conversation.

My fiancé and I went last football season for a steelers game since they claim their a steelers bar… No beer on draft felt like some frat brothers wanted to open a bar. But now they switched over to a Eagles pats bar. I would never go for $ 6 can of Heineken

The same as George… But thats ok! If you went to a Prep school in the DC area and went to and SEC school soon thereafter… this is the bar for you! Nothing to hate here by any means, there is a strong sense of community amongst the old George/Smith Point/Mason Inn/Town Hall Crews here and if you enjoy these places, you’ll love Chi Di. However…outsiders beware, this spot isn’t really designed for you… and thats ok too, not every bar has to fit the same mold! Just don’t come here expecting to meet a super trendy hipster girl. Shot ski’s and G&T’s…throw on your Barbour jacket and head down the alley next to Café Milano to Chi Di where you can guzzle cheap beer and enjoy the game… thats what this place is all about.

I don’t really know how to rate a place like this. I think the fact that this place has 6 reviews and 3 are one star reviews and 3 are five stars review is very telling. I have had a couple of experiences here and always enjoyed it, but I completely understand why you would hate it. First lets get something out of the way, this place is in no way Chinese and is in no way a disco. Apparently it is a nod to something in DC in the 80s. I don’t think anyone that has ever stepped into that bar remembers the 80s or was even born in the 80s. I have been to CD three times. Twice for the UVA Vs DUKE game and once for a friends birthday. They have these UVA Vs Duke parties every year and they have been a lot of fun. This isn’t an immaculate sports bar with TVs everywhere, but they have enough that you shouldn’t have a hard time watching the game. They played music before the game and during halftime. During the actual game they had the TV sound on. That is probably my preference because I don’t care about hearing Jay Bilas and Dick Vitale ponder over whether Coach K or George Washington has had a bigger affect on this country, but I know some of my die hard friends disagree. One complaint is their playlist was mostly just Uptown Funk played on repeat. The first game watching party they had an open bar the first hour and then the rest of the game drinks were full price. This was pretty awesome until at the end of the game everyone bought rounds of fireball and realized they were $ 11 each, ouch(fyi this was over 2 years ago so prices could be different now). The more recent time I went there they had drink specials throughout the game, which I thought were pretty good. $ 20 buckets of 16 oz bud lights and $ 25 for pitchers of mixed drinks. In summary CD is a fratty bar whose clientele looks identical to what you would see at an ACC/SEC college bar except 1 – 2 years older. If you understand that I think it is a relatively enjoyable time.

So this bar claims to be DC’s Steelers bar, but is not open during the games?! I had a group of ten friends meet me there on Sunday only to find out it was not even open. We relocated to Old Glory and randomly ran into other groups there that attempted to watch the game at Chinese Disco as well.

Anyone who speaks negatively of Chinese Disco simply doesn’t appreciate a good time. This place is the best spot in Georgetown, especially on Thursday nights. Good music, reasonable drink specials, always crowded but not uncomfortably packed. The service is wonderful– the servers couldn’t be more accommodating. They have a lot to manage, as this is definitely a young, rowdy crowd. It’s clean, stylish but not pretentious. The name comes from an old DC hot spot, so don’t expect any«Asian flair» or Saturday night fever vibes. It’s a cool spot that’s dragging business away from some of the more tired bars in Georgetown. Always a good time.

There is nothing different or new here. They just painted over George and gave it a different name. There is no theme and it has absolutely no character. No Asian flare. Why do they have shot skis? how does that fit in with the space? They are also incredibly rude to their customers for no reason. Several of us asked several times to change one of the TVs to the O’s playoff game, and they refused. It’s not that hard to change one TV, especially for a big game, but they really didn’t care. Then I went outside to make a phone call. They have a nice courtyard, but I was rudely kicked out by the bouncer. I wasn’t in anyone’s way and there was no one else in the courtyard. But the bouncer yelled at me and kicked me out to the noise curb. Absolutely no reason to go back!!! Save your money, there is much better places in DC.
