The place had a lot of great menu options however the food was not good at all. I went with a friend and we both ordered the Old Glory combo with two meats and one side and I don’t think either of us was satisfied. I have never had ribs this dry or tough in my life. The meat was brittle and hard and it seemed like they tried to douse it in sauce to cover it up. I also had the chicken which was super dry and the collard greens were not seasoned ATALL! He ordered the brisket which was okay but only after you added barbecue sauce and his macaroni and cheese was garnished with cold shredded cheese(???). I was really excited about coming here but the food was not as good as I remembered or expected it to be. Probably won’t be returning.

Literally the worst place I’ve ever been… service was disrespectful and they were demeaning. Would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy.

The bathroom was pretty disappointing; very inconvenient placing for toilet paper. Took forever to unleash a demon Other than that– great staff. Really cool guys with great happy hour deals!

The place is nice and cosy definitely has an awesome and welcoming staff! Will be back. The wings were delicious but not as spicy as the menu suggested. The big belly burger was very good but I had better. It is listed as one of the top 10 bugers in DC tho, you should try it!

Fun not the largest beer selection but the place has great décor and the waitstaff is very cool. Laid back atmosphere. Roof is fun for drinks. Had brunch in front window at a high top table, felt kind of special. Big selection of food, and it was delish! Even got to take some home

The service on the patio had improved considerably during my last few visits. When very crowded, especially during football games, they have put on some additional staff, making it much quicker to get drinks or food.

Delicious big portions of food. Cornbread bites were amazing. The only downfall was the food was so good I didn’t have room to try a desert. Next time I’ll make sure to save some room.

The smokestack salad is really good. It’s more meat than salad, but Percy when you want some veggies but don’t want to miss out on the great bbq. The bbq sauces on the table are all different; the Kansas City version is my favorite — a little spicy and tangy, yum! The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is the mini corn muffins they bring out when you sit down tasted like they’d been refrigerated for a while and were a little chewy. But who needs to nibble on bread when you have a plate of bbq coming out?

Saved an otherwise awful day of wife shopping in Georgetown. Nice bar, nice people, sports playing on tvs. If you are stuck in Georgetown, may be worth your time to escape the madness.

Went here for dinner with group of friends. Decent ambiance and food. Our group just had different appetizers which I thought was pretty good. My favorite was Mac and Cheese with Brisket. The meat wast perfect with the mac and cheese. Amazing! We also had corndogs and meatballs which was decent. The nachos with brisket was not that appetizing. Maybe because it was a little cold when we got it and the meat was not really enough. I would have really given this place a 4star for the food but the bartender was just mean as hell.

I hate to do lower than 4 star but we were disappointed here– the first thing I did was use the bathroom, it’s a unisex single stall with a sliding door situated right in front of a large table that was filled w guests. The bathroom smelled so terrible that had my husband not already ordered I probably would have left. Ordered the sangria w fresh berries. No berries in the drink when delivered. It tasted more like white wine on ice. I sent it back. The waiter had no clue about the appetizers we were inquiring about. It was obvious he did not know the menu. Like I said, I hate giving bad restaurant reviews as o am in the business myself. My advice is that if you are looking for a place in Georgetown keep going. There are several wonderful places around. This place is just so so.

Came here with the wife, then customer service was ok upstairs. The food was flavorful. I enjoyed the meaty Mac and cheese and the wings were very tasty, ranch had a smoke flavor which was delicious. My wife liked her nachos with brisket. Due to the customer service they earned a 3.5.

Saw the bar from a venue down the street and it looked great! Came in, had one drink served by a surly bartender though it was a good pour. We moved to an open seat at the bar and then my husband was rudely told«this isn’t going to work for me» when a food runner came to deliver food behind the bar. We never sit in service areas knowing there is a need to get through but this area at the end of the bar was not defined as such so the attitude was unnecessary. We’ll never go back.

Decent place to catch Sunday football. The BBQ is good, not great, but they also have a fun bourbon selection. Went on Sunday to meet a friend. There’s football by the bar downstairs and football at the bar on the deck upstairs. We sat on the deck and the bar had four TVs, each playing a different game, which I though was a nice way of pleasing everybody. Of course, you can only get the sound for one game at a time. We each had BBQ options, among them chicken, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. My friend raved about the ribs. I thought the brisket was very tender but bland. The pulled pork. I probably should have asked for extra bbq sauce. The coleslaw was a great side. We also had bourbon and while they were out of a couple of less common options, the menu had some very solid choices. Slightly overpriced per drink, however. In all I’d probably come back if I was in the area but I might not go out of my way to visit unless I’m in the mood for bbq and football.

Just went here yesterday for a happy hour with colleagues! I would most certainly come back here for happy hour, but maybe not dinner. Wasn’t impressed enough to return here for a meal. What I liked: deals on beer/wine/wells, and food! $ 7 nachos and $ 4 beers, yes please! The outdoor patio space on the 2nd floor is nice too! What I didn’t like: it was sooo hot on the patio, and they barely had any fans running, nor did they pull down the shades. The sun was beating onto us!

How do i give a score less than one. I had so much hair in my food that i was able to show the staff what a marionette looks like. When i pulled on the hair it was cooked into my fish and showed all the other human hair that was entangled in my food. I was able to pickup five pieces of fish with separate pieces of hair and show how the puppets would dance around a stage. I pointed out the behemoth cook without a hair net was scratching her head while cooking.. They said they were afraid of her and could not do anything about it Wow. Frightening Sad this was in our nations capital

Oof. Our experience got progressively worse as the night went on. Old Glory is your typical Georgetown establishment — decent food, bad service. Since most Unilocal reviews are based on service, I’ll be a little forgiving here. We scored a seat at one of the high tables in the bar. They didn’t have a good selection of stouts so I passed on a drink. We ordered the«Whole Lotta Glory» sampler: BBQ chicken, ribs, pulled pork, sausage, smoked turkey, brisket, and four sides(collards, mac & cheese, fries, coleslaw). You could get the same deal at Smoke & Barrel in Adams Morgan and save $ 20. The food was ok, but nothing impressive. The collards, brisket, and ribs were solid, everything else was disappointing. Service is pretty horrible here. Our server suggested things that other people had ordered and couldn’t make any personal suggestions. He walked past our table several times and didn’t refill our waters or check on us. At the end of our meal, it took 20 minutes to flag the server down, get our check, and run our credit cards. Meh.

I was with a friend who was really in the mood for some BBQ and decided that we would end up here. Normally, this particular friend is on point with food… This time, not so much. We started off(at my suggestion) with the burnt ends, which were more or less what I expected from a decent BBQ place. They weren’t up there with my top favorites, but they were solid. They came with texas toast, which was a little dry and onion rings. The onions rings, like most fried foods, were delicious. But being that most fried foods give me migraines, I didn’t eat many. After seeing pictures of thick slices of brisket with well defined smoke rings, I was pretty enthusiastic, so I don’t know, maybe their pit man was just having an off day. My brisket was first off the driest brisket I’ve ever had, secondly, the blandest brisket I’ve ever had. Thirdly, it was sliced like deli meat… I’ve never had such paper thin slices of beef outside of a Japanese restaurant. My beef was peppered with some sort of dry seasoning post slice. There were also very tasty pickles haphazardly thrown in between slides. These were little gems though… They have several sauces available from different regions to jazz up the meat(the Memphis was my favorite, but that’s a personal preference). The sauces were pretty flavorful, but not well balanced. The service was pretty awful. Our waiter didn’t pay attention to our water glasses at all(and it was an off-time, perhaps he was tired and near the end of the shift), and we ended up flagging down other servers to get us refills. And then got attitude because we weren’t «in her section». Our server was far more interested in the table next to us having a bunch of cute college girls using selfie-sticks. In short, OK food, terrible service.

I had heard great thing about this place but I was not particularly impressed with the food. Service was great and super attentive but the food could have been better. I got the brisket platter and it tasted a but overcooked and dry. I have had brisket at other places and it was a lot more juicy and tasty. Maybe I just got a bad batch or something. The happy hour winds were a great deal! $ 1 per wing. They weren’t slathered with buffalo sauce which I usually like but they tasted good regardless. End of the day, I think this may not have been my ideal barbecue joint but I encourage everyone else to check it out because it just seemed like a different style of bbq from what I’m used to.

I’ve been here for dinner a few times now and its typically the same experience each time. The variety of bbq sauces is nice, but the food is only pretty good. I do love their Memphis bbq sauce. It’s so good, I’ll buy it to take home with me for my own bbq meals. The other ones are pretty good too but nothing compared to the Memphis. Aside from the sauces, the food itself is just average. The biscuits to start the meal are tasty, especially when covered in butter. But, the burger is underwhelming. It has no noticeable flavors and isn’t particularly enjoyable until I add a lot of the Memphis bbq sauce. Although the french fries are quite good, especially with some bbq sauce. Overall, a restaurant that isn’t spectacular but one I would surely eat at again.

3.5 stars but the sweet server bumps up the stars. Good Q but not outstanding. Pretty pricey and portions are on the smallish side. First course is their mini cornbread muffins and butter… awesome. I smothered them in the various bbq sauces to get a feel of which sauces to use Ribs were a little overdone for my taste. Chicken was nice and meaty without any fat or gristle. The sausage came as a square patty and tasted really really good. Tater salad is really good. Love the 4 sauces on the table as they give you the most common flavors in the states: Texas, Memphis, Carolina… and I forget. Loved the banana pudding which was major yum. this area of DC(Georgetown) is amazing and a great place to walk around. If you get the hankering you could do far worse than to dine here at Old Glory!
