What a great spot for dinner. Thanks fellow Unilocalers for the recommendation. Sat on the upstairs patio and the place had a nice crowd. Service was ultra efficient. There were four of us and we ordered a lot of small plates. With two vegans at the table, ordering was not an issue. Plenty of vegan choices and everything was delicious. We didn’t get any entrees which allowed us to try many of their appetizers and sides. You can’t go wrong here. Quality and value was outstanding.

Cava is my go-to place for a light yet tasty meal. The atmosphere is kinda cool & their options vary for sure. I highly recommend their lollipop chicken! It literally falls off the bone with no struggle. I never thought I would put Greek yogurt and honey with chicken but gee it’s amazing! Their Mac-and-cheese and lamb sliders are delicious as well! The one thing I would change is their portion sizes. I wish they had some dishes that were bigger in portion but if you want to try a bunch of different things I would highly recommended cava! Oh and dessert– the donuts are delicious!

Used to be a favorite of mine. Recipes have changed twice in three years(corresponds with expansion). Food is now more fried, more expensive, and OK but not great. Really should change classification from restaurant to a really good happy hour that also does some food. For actual Greek — try Zorbas or Kellari.

I’m sure brunch here is amazing, and I will have to try it eventually, but the regular menu is just okay. I don’t really understand the hype, and it’s sad because I love the fast-casual Cava Grill, so I expected Cava Mezze to be just as good. The service is… leisurely, the food is way too expensive for the amount you get, and the flavors fall flat. The saganaki tasted entirely of brandy and not at all of cheese, and some mushrooms with turmeric had entirely too much turmeric — it completely threw off the dish, and any Desi knows that turmeric is there mostly for color and not flavor. The crazy feta just tastes like cream cheese. The best thing there was the calamari with mint and harissa, which I enjoyed thoroughly. But 4 plates ended up being a little more than $ 50 for 3 people, without drinks, and that’s just way too much. DC is not a cheap city by any stretch of the imagination, but there are so many better meals I could have had for ~17 a person. I didn’t even take pictures for Unilocal. That’s how underwhelmed with this meal I was. I really don’t like giving reviews that aren’t positive, but my experience at Cava Mezze was just meh. Go to Zaytinya in Gallery Place if you’re craving Mediterranean tapas. The price is justified there. Hell, go to Cava Grill if you’re craving Greek flavors. A salad there is 10x better than anything I had here and exponentially cheaper.

Cava is one of my favorite restaurants in DC. Great menu, nice atmosphere, and consistency at all of the locations. The wine list has a lot of great options and it’s not horribly expensive, so why not get another when it’s empty?!? My favorite menu item is the Brussel sprouts, saganaki(cheese flambé!!!), roasted cauliflower, and the lamb sliders. Honestly, the only plate I’ve ever had where I didn’t want to stab my table mates fingers over the last piece were the calamari dish(too bland and greasy for me) Overall, this is a solid go to when I’m in DC

My bottomless brunch here was the bomb. Partially because every time my mimosa glass dropped to half-full and I looked away, then back again, voila, it was full again! My two companions and I all opted for the bottomless brunch(if one person at your table orders it, you all have to) at the waitress’s recommendation. I think it was a good choice, though man, were we full after. The restaurant has a nice feel to it, with outdoor and indoor seating, but it was terribly loud in there, between the music and drunken party seated next to us. I asked if they could turn the music down since they seated us under a speaker, no-go. Mimosas in both orange and grapefruit varieties were great. How can you go wrong with mimosas? I was a little nervous about doing the bottomless brunch with all my food restrictions/allergies, but when the waitress assured me the kitchen could do modifications since everything is made-to-order and small-plates, I was confident. But man, they struggled! We ordered the grilled cheese with no feta cheese. They literally sent it out with no cheese at all. A grilled cheese with no cheese, just chopped tomatoes and oil on bread. We assumed it was a mistake, ordered another, asked specifically for a substitution of cheddar. Waitress says they don’t have any cheddar cheese. Lol. Ok. So much for that! I then tried to order the breakfast burrito without feta. «Oh, I think it’s already mixed in there,» says the waitress. Ok, another one bites the dust!(I ordered it anyway, and bizarrely, it had none of the onions, feta, tomatoes, greek yogurt, and eggs listed on the menu in it, but instead was filled with potatoes, and little smattering of chicken sausage. They clearly ran out of ingredients, but instead of fessing up, substituted. It still tasted good, but I’m not giving them points for it). I also tried to order the village fritata without feta. This was the most comical of all. It was described on the menu as including feta, spinach, leeks, and green onion. They brought out a plain omelette. Literally, an omelette with nothing in it. I told the waitress, she re-ordered it. Again, out comes a plain omelette with nothing in it. So here’s the conclusion I drew at this point. They don’t have actual chefs working in the kitchen. They have assembly staff, people who put components into other components and then put those components in pans. People who do not think of ways to adapt, do not utilize creativity, because it’s not their job. They don’t come up with alternate concepts, or solutions. Which sucks, for a restaurant-patron. That said, everything else we ate was pretty delicious. Banana fritters were something made by angels and I could’ve eaten two dozen of them. Both crispy and moist, not über-sweet; gooey deliciousness. Nutella waffle? YES. More of that. Lots. Even the smoked salmon, which looked fairly unappetizing just sitting on the plate in it’s slivery gelatinous state had a far more delicate flavor than I expected, and was actually pretty tasty. Orzo and eggs, very unexpected in a great way(WHYISTHEREFETAINEVERYDISH?!), homefries, yes and yes. Oh and the french toast. The french toast! The menu doesn’t say that it’s deep-fried. But it is. And I wished I was eating alone so I didn’t have to share it with my family. It was that good. Like, I stopped speaking for like 10 minutes. We left stuffed, and pleased. This place could simply benefit from either getting more creative folks in the kitchen, or allowing the folks in the kitchen to be more creative. Then Cava Meze would be stellar.

Fantastic dinner options that put a modern twist on Mediterranean fare. For Dinner, the lamb dishes come to mind. The scrumptious Happy Hour dishes are spanakopita and the hummus trio, accompanied by complimentary bread. Brunch is mediocre, but sage chicken sausage was good. Would not return for brunch but would return for happy hour.

I love to cook Greek food, so I am a bit of a snob when it comes to dining out at Greek restaurants. My experience here was nothing short of spectacular. My daughter and I shared 4 medium sized plates. Everything was delish. I especially enjoyed the roasted Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese orzo. We split a house made cheese cake for dessert. I’m still thinking about how yummy that was. I will try the flaming cheese with brandy next time. It looked and smelled amazing. Great presentation, too. The prices were fair and we left full and happy. The manager was delightful. He personally came over to make sure our dining experience was satisfactory. Our server was prompt, friendly and knowledgable. This restaurant is a gem in a cool part of town. I highly recommend!

Bottomless brunch — this is definitely the place to go. They don’t take large parties all the time but with a group of 5 this was the perfect spot. It is bottomless food plus 1 cent mimosas and $ 2 bloody Mary’s. Drink service can be as expected — slow. But this is bottomless brunch and they typically don’t want you to pass out by the end of the two hours. The food is actually good and affordable! I’m a sucker for the Nutella waffle but the Greek brunch mix is amazing! With the exception of the eggs and noodles(which I find very weird) I think we ordered multiple of everything. Eggs Benny, pork belly, the potatoes, everything is yum! We had a terrible waiter when we were there. Kept saying he had wrung in food and hadn’t. We felt a little ignored. But the price is reasonable and with good food and good people + a little booze it’s hard to not have a good time. Definitely make a reservation. They also have a nice patio if the weather is permitting!

This restaurant is AMAZING. I was here in DC for a few days and ended up checking this restaurant out based on the rave reviews. For two people, we ordered falafel, Brussel sprouts, zucchini fritters, mini gyros, lamb half smoke, and the octopus. My favorites were the gyros and the zucchini fritters. Everything else was delicious, except for the falafel which lacked flavor. Good sized portions, 6 was very filling for us and we didn’t have room for dessert. Great service and atmosphere. We sat in the upstairs outdoor patio area. Prices are a little on the high side but that’s because we ordered the more expensive items on the menu and a few glasses of wine and sangria. Overall, I would definitely return to this restaurant next time I’m in DC.

Loved Cava Mezze! Came here on a Friday night when my dad was visiting and the entire place was so lively! We were able to sit outside which was somewhat cramped, but not enough to make the entire meal uncomfortable; just somewhat tight when getting in and out. I think their small plates were the perfect portions. We ordered the dip tasting to start, which was a plate of all the dip flavors. They were hummus, spicy hummus, crazy feta, taramosalata, and Tzatziki. We were also served pitas with some sort of delicious tomato paste and red pepper mix. SOGOOD! I actually couldn’t decide if I liked the red pepper or the dips better. I ordered the crispy pork belly that came with a carrot purée, and cumin-steeped honey. ORDERTHISDISH! My pork was perfectly crispy and the meat was so tender. I love the right amount of sweet in my savory dishes, but I can’t decide if some people may find this dish to be too sweet. My dad and sister both ordered the lamb chops which were simply amazing. The lamb was so juicy! I also had their version of a mint julep, but I did not care for it entirely. It was a bit strong and a little syrupy. However, the presentation was beautiful and the crush ice melts nicely into the drink. After dinner we sat at the bar to watch the Cavs vs Pistons game :) It was such a fun environment to be in and the bartenders are so friendly. DEFINITELYRECOMMEND! Just writing this is making me want Cava Mezze right now! I want to go back so badly because there are still plenty of dishes I want to try. I am confident they won’t disappoint!

Uh, hello bottomless brunch! I loved pretty much everything we got, my only complaint is that we didn’t bring more people so we could try more things. Favorites: french toast, nutella waffle, gyro hash, home fries, grilled cheese, crispy pork belly Not so favorite: Mini Cava breakfast, Spicy lamb benedict The service was good, but they forgot a few of the dishes we ordered(they were crazy busy), so we had to order them twice. They also sat down something we hadn’t ordered, so we got to try something we wouldn’t have normally ordered(crispy pork belly). All in all, I was thoroughly impressed and I’ll definitely be back!

I don’t know what happened… Is there a new chef? The food used to be amazing, but now… it’s meh. The brunch menu is usually fantastic, but today… The grilled cheese was salty, the pasta was gooey and the rest of the food was just not up to par. So disappointed.

Cava Mezze’s brunch is amazing, great for groups! Brunch includes unlimited breakfasty tapas and 1-cent mimosas(with different choices of juice to mix in). Every small plate I’ve tried was yummy. Everyone at the table has to get the unlimited brunch. They have an a la carte option as well, but it’s more fun having plates among plates coming and going. You will leave there full and happy. One of my favorite brunches in the area!

Review based on Bottomless Brunch! The food was awesome. I love the tapas bottomless brunch idea. Try the Nutella waffles, the French toast and the gyro hash. Mimosas are only 1¢. You really should consider doing their unlimited /bottomless brunch so you can truly enjoy every single dish of their fun menu. Plus if you fell into flavor love with an order you can have more of it. CHALLAHFRENCHTOAST(5 NOMs) Go challah challah for unlimited brunch. Its not dessert time, but when it comes to French Toast you can have it any time. We going French the Greek style which means its all about over feeding us. Table next to us made an order and it looked so beautiful and appetizing that we just had to get one or two of these. Easy delicious when enjoying their unlimited brunch, but on normal day it cost $ 6. Its not one of those flimsy thing toast and instead a tick cut challah bread. So much flavor and crunch this Served with very sweet honey syrup, berries and light cream. Unlike many heavy breads this was pretty light and we didn’t feel like we are about to fall into sugar coma. Good, now we can enjoy even more desserts SALMONBENNIE(5 NOMs) In the ocean of unlimited brunch you can only swim. With multiple Eggs Benedict choices we just had to try them all and compare which is our favorite. This was the winner of the benedict face off or should we say eat off. The hickory smoked salmon was very light and yet flavorful that went great with a large runny egg on top. Even those little capers added a nice taste. The whole goodness comes with a nice serving of a delicious thick hollandaise sauce. Not overly a big dish, but good for tapas for $ 8, but best enjoyed during their unlimited brunch. We liked it so much that we ordered another serving. SPICYLAMBBENEDICT(5 NOMs) Unleash the running yolk of your unlimited brunch. One of our most favorite thing about Eggs Benedict is the running yolk. When you crack open this egg there is enough yolk to cover the whole thing and then left for more. We like big eggs and we can not lie! All that on top of a big and juicy lamb patty. As you crack the egg and cut through the lamb all that yolk and juices mixed together. Not just spicy in name, it has a very nice kick to it, but not too much. Normally by itself this cost $ 8, but best enjoyed during their unlimited brunch. Overall one of our favorite orders from a perfect Sunday brunch. Best way is to order all of their eggs Benedict and compare. CHICKENSAGESAUSAGE(4 NOMs) Perfect Sunday morning starts with a nice big sausage. Saw the waiter carry an order to the table next to us. The aroma and beauty of this dish just called out to us. So we placed an order as part of our unlimited bottomless brunch. Ah it did not disappoint, the colors are so vibrant and grilling marked that made it even more appetizing. Looking at it just made us want to put that sausage into our mouth and go to town on our taste buds. Served with a nice light and slightly sweet sauce for that extra flavor. Every bite left us very happy nomster. The only thing that is truly disappointing is the size of this dish. It made us so happy that we just needed more. On regular day it cost $ 7, but best to enjoy it during their unlimited brunch. Not so bad since its part of the unlimited brunch so there is no guilt or extra price for getting a few more of them. PORKBELLY&EGGS(6 NOMs) We are very excited to finally make it for an unlimited brunch to one of the famous places in the area. First dish in and it just wowed our taste buds away, it impressed us so much that it blew pass our rating and got high 6 NOMs score. Some of the thickest pieces of meat and yet so soft with nice layer of fatty goodness. So flavorful with just the right amount of crunch in every bite. Perfectly combined with a poached egg. To make this dish even better there is also our favorite hollandaise sauce. The sauce was very light and more liquid, but it worked well to let the pork flavor shine through. By far one of the best bacon dishes we’ve ever had. Not the biggest dish, but pretty good when you are enjoying an unlimited bottomless brunch for $ 30 per person or $ 7 a la cart. A must order for any pork belly that would sure to leave a happy nomster. Check out my blog for more fun reviews and pictures, link in the bio.

Went here with Lauren & James for a Easter Sunday brunch. The best option is the $ 30 endless plate deal with $ 1 mimosas. You just can’t go wrong. I like the upstairs dining room. Great restaurant with a great vibe in Capital Hill. The menu is tapas(mezze) style so you get plenty of tastes in one meal and there are plenty of good options. There are lots of nice Mediterranean dips, a few good salads, and some pasta dishes. Very friendly to vegetarians. Great service.

Awesome brunch for $ 30! Mimosas are 1 cent and Bloody Mary’s were $ 2. Can’t beat that with a bat! Good efficient service for all-you-can-eat brunch. Our table was never empty. Great selection of food. Only thing was they put eggs on everything and so after a couple plates I had to ask to order items without them – which they did happily. The steak, sausage and lamb dishes were the best. Very filling breakfast. I wish there were a few more vegetarian dishes so I could invite my non-carnivorous friends but I think their regular menu is available, which does have a few. Pros: +Amazing Value for Brunch +Good selection of breakfast items as well as Greek dishes. +Good service, although our waiter did keep disappearing. Other staff were happy to help though. Good teamwork. Cons: –Parking is an absolute nightmare. Expect to walk 5 – 10 blocks. Or just über there. –Some of the best dishes, like the lamb and steak, have tiny portions, even for one person. –Even with a reservation, we had to wait 20 minutes. Without one, forget it, 1 – 2 hours!

A $ 30 bottomless brunch… typically they run at $ 40, especially in DC. So I scheduled a brunch for 16 people for my birthday, and my goodness, I have to say I am good at picking new places. My brunch started at 11:30 and I arrived at 11:15… half of my party had to arrive before we could be seated, which didn’t happen until 11:40. The waiting area is a tad small, so by the time 6 of us were there it was getting a little tight. So once we were seated, they broke it down for us and offered to just bring random tapas out. I was excited, because I have only had Latin tapas, never Greek ones. My favorite 3 are the Lamb Benedict, Nutella Waffle, & Chicken Sausage. There was no tapa that I disliked, though, delicious stuff all around! As for the mimosas… the apple cider one by FAR is the best! Had plenty of those and left a happy man. My time limit ended up being 2 hours instead of 2.5 like I originally thought… but I had a great time and will return eventually

I absolutely adore this place. I’ve dined here quite a few times for dinner. Today I tried the brunch, great deal — 30 $ for unlimited small plates and mimosas. Of course my friend and I had to order the saganaki off the regular menu because if you dine at Cava you MUST order this. This place is always busy so definitely make a reservation. Only negative — the host and hostess. Some advice, if you want to give your restaurant a good first impression — be pleasant Instead of smug and welcoming instead of rude. Good thing I dine here quite a few times before — already have a good impression of the place.

Our server, Gita, was fabulous. It was super crowded, but she was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. We had a variety of small plates to share — I highly recommend the Brussels sprouts(seems like a strange thing to recommend, but they were amazing). The crazy feta was also fabulous. Cava Mezze has fun creative cocktails as well. I will definitely go back.

Back at Cava Mezze again after few months of sulking(see my previous review). Party of 4 for lunch. We had the lunch special which consists of 3 small plates in each of their category($ 15). I ordered the hummus, cauliflower and fried calamari. Everything was good but I should have ordered something lighter than the calamari. The 3 plates are more than enough to feel full at the end of your lunch. If you’re a wine drinker, the Tempranillo is good and marries well the above plates. Great food, great service and not crowded at all.

$ 30 all-you-can eat(and no pressure to share plates)…Nutella waffles… our waiter Miguel… endless one-cent apple cider mimosas… easy parking… fun ambiance… reservations easily made via OpenTable… need I say more? Just make sure, as with many of the«unlimited tapas/drinks» operations in DC, that you’re dining with companions who agree unanimously to take advantage of the one-price deal… again — $ 30 for unlimited quality food and 1 cent per mimosa? Who can say no to that? Plus, it’s all served up in a cozy, lively atmosphere… and they accept reservations, too. Just make sure your entire party has arrived(we all have that one brunch friend who is perpetually late). Plan your parking accordingly, as this area of DC is notoriously difficult for parking, or just take the Metro if you’re so inclined! Last I checked, there were about 20 items from which to choose on their brunch tapas/sharing menu, so you won’t be left wanting more. I promise you. The food arrives promptly, tastes fresh, and looks as though it was just plated, and not sitting under a heat lamp. As mentioned in the beginning of my review, the Nutella Waffle is really one of the stars of the show, and Cava gets it right with just the right balance of chewiness, warmth, and Nutella gooey goodness woven into the batter. Not into sweets or wheat? No worries, Cava Brunch has plenty for you! On the savory side and non-wheat departments, I recall being enamored with the Gyro Hash, Steak and Eggs(cooked to order, yay), and Crispy Pork Belly. If you like Benedicts, the mini and still adequately sharable Benedicts here are really tasty — try the Salmon Bennie! Hungover? Try the Breakfast Burrito! Hungry? Order everything and don’t feel ashamed about it — it’s the same price regardless, and you’ll always have people at your table to pick at the plates! Overall — just make a reservation here… plan ahead for parking or Metro… bring your appetite and thirst, plus $ 30(well, $ 33-$ 40, accounting for DC tax and tip), and a pocket full of pennies for those mimosas… you will love it! Yes, it is loud and lively. Yes, it gets busy. Have fun!

My boyfriend had told me stories about eating flaming cheese(Saganaki) as a child at Greek restaurants in Detroit, and I’ve been wanting to try it ever since. I spent some time searching for it in Manhattan with no luck, so I was happily surprised stumbling across it on Cava Mezze’s menu! I immediately made a reservation for that Friday night. Food Overall very impressed with the quality of food. We were told 2 – 3 dishes per person was the correct amount to order, so we went with five for the two of us and found it to be way too much food(didn’t even touch the last dish, although it made a wonderful brunch the next day!) Would recommend two plates per person, unless you’re really hungry! Tzatziki– excellent tzatziki. Their pita bread is also warm and wonderful. Raw Mushroom Salad– pleasantly surprised with how delicious this was. Not that I thought it would be bad, but usually raw veggie salads aren’t exactly something to write home(or on Unilocal!) about. This was definitely an exception to that– the variety of woodsy mushrooms were complemented wonderfully by feta cheese. Saganaki– this is what we came to Cava Mezze for and it did not disappoint. Tangy, cheesy, melty goodness that is set on fire tableside and put out with fresh squeezed lemon juice. This was the first time I’ve had Saganaki and I’m sure it will not be the last. Spicy Lamb Sliders– comes with two which makes them good for sharing, but only if you have two people. Very tasty and well balanced(loved the Harissa), but with so many exciting things on the menu, I probably wouldn’t order again. Braised short rib– this was the one we didn’t even start in on because we were so full! The next morning we threw it in the oven and it was delicious. Really generous portion of short rib over French fries with feta on top. Definitely on the heavier side. Service Server was kind and quick. Water glasses were hot(hot to touch and made the water within luke warm) which was a little annoying. They must have just come out of the dishwasher. Ambiance We sat by the windows in the front of the restaurant and had a pretty good view of the place. Dark and larger than you would think from the outside, but still cozy. A little loud, but overall enjoyed the ambiance. Good for a date or a large group due to the variety of seating options

I can only review their brunch, but will update this review in the even I come here for a different meal. I’ve had the all-you-can-eat brunch here twice, and at $ 30 per person, plus $ 0.01 mimosas, it’s easily one of the best brunch experiences I’ve had in DC. Both times I’ve visited, it’s been with a large group(9+ people), which is actually ideal, as it basically allows everyone to try everything on the menu if you order strategically. There are a few items that aren’t especially awesome(the vegetable frittata, the yoghurt and berries), but things like the lamb Benedict, banana fritters, gyro hash and the Nutella waffles are amazing. My favorite part is working my way through the menu and then going back and ordering seconds of what I want more of. I actually think my bf ordered the pork belly three or four times over the course of the meal. It’s that good. The mimosas are also great, and I’m partial to starting with the regular OJ mimosa, then having the grapefruit and cider mimosas as I progress through the menu. The service is always great, despite the place being jam packed for brunch. I absolutely recommend reservations, as it’s been totally full, with 90+ minute waits both times I’ve been(and I’ve been grateful for our reservation). Definitely worth going for brunch with friends!

So I went to Cava Mezze for brunch. I think it was Saturday. Honestly it was cool. Something I would go back to if I was invited to, however I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. So first the service… trash. Lol Yup trash. I arrive and my party arrived before I did. So I walk in the door and the hostess is just looking at me. Normally at this point most hostesses would say ‘how may I help you?’, or ‘can I help you find your party?’ Nope. Didn’t get any of that. I asked if she could help find my party, they had a reservation, but basically they told me I’m more than welcome to find them myself. First off it was busy and crowded. I’m not about to be walking around, through and over people. Thats rude, but thats just my opinion. After we ate it was about 40 minutes of no service before we decided if we were going to dine and dash. I mean why not, at this point we ate and wanted more food and drinks but no one would serve us. So then I’m ready to go but I can’t even get anyone to give me my check. Finally a manager came after my GF got heated and went to tell someone. The manager tried to make up for it. Gave us a little 1520% off. That was cool, but at this point I was already ‘meh’ about the place. Location… I mean there are Cava Mezze’s everywhere. This one in DC has terrible location in terms of parking. PLANFORPARKING. No seriously allot like another 30 minutes for parking. The food was ok. I like the fact they have little brunch dishes for cheap and you can keep ordering(when you actually receive service). The food was nothin special to me though. It was noisy, so if you don’t like that this isn’t the place. If you don’t mind, then by all means go! Again, this wasn’t my favorite dining experience. Doubt I’ll be back.

I walk by Barracks Row every week for years now and never had Cava Mezze jump out at me. Despite the consistently good reviews on Unilocal,I just ignored it until New Years Eve. Cava Mezze was literally one of the only places in DC that still had reservations open a day before NYE so my friends and I jumped on it. After having dinner here, we all agreed it was a great experience– 4 stars! Here’s what we thought was good and just okay: Good: — Saganaki– it comes out flaming and it tastes amazing. — The dip platter– it’s fun to try all the dips and each one is quality and unique. — The pita they bring to you free, but it’s warm and tastes amazing. –The meat balls– great taste! –The pork tenderloin– loved the meat and the risotto it comes on. –The mojito– if you like sweet drinks. Just okay: — The mac and cheese– it’s not your traditional mac and cheese and I think the feta makes it taste not amazing. I’d go back for sure. If you like Greek food, definitely check this place out!

This is a very nice place for a date on a Tuesday or Wednesday night. Fellas — take note — if you are trying to impress your lady, this is definitely a nice place to visit! It isn’t terribly loud, the ambiance is very nice and the food is delicious. I am a lover of brussel sprouts, and Cava has some of the best in town! Loved the lollipop chicken also. Can be a bit spendy for two people with drinks, but I definitely recommend getting there in time for happy hour. The service was decent. I think I was slightly underwhelmed with our server since it wasn’t a particularly busy night. i think he could have been slightly more attentive.

First time to visit. We had the Sunday bottomless brunch. The four of us tried 15 out of the 19 items on the brunch menu. We had to order some of the dishes a second time because they were so good the first time. This is my first experience to eat Tapas style of dinning, and love the idea of the dishes coming to the table and sharing them at the same time. Nice flavors and presentations. A must try!!!

Brunch amazigness! Lots of options for vegetarians and a great price for DC. $ 30 gets you all you can eat tapas sized dishes with $.01 mimosas! The food is flavorful and I was so impressed with the options! I highly recommend taking out of town guests here, but beware, it is very loud inside and outside.

This small plates restaurant really delivers on quality and has unique Mediterranean twists on standard dishes. Would highly recommend the French Toast and the fig hummus! Overall the staff was quick to clean any empty dishes and to refill waters, however there were a few small issues with communication and the language barrier especially when u weren’t quite done with a dish but they had already grabbed it to take it away. Other than that the place is really good for a small dish or tapas experience. Menu is large enough to give you plenty of options but not overwhelming. Would come here again

Cava Mezze is as good as it gets! I’ve eaten at a lot of Greek restaurants because my husband loves Greek food so much, and Cava Mezze is the BEST Greek restaurant I’ve ever been to! I was visiting a friend in DC and she insisted that we come to Cava. I’ve had a lot of Greek food but never really went crazy over their dishes… until my friend took me here! I literally inhaled everything that we ordered. The thing I noticed with Cava is that they have very inviting dishes and it’s a very easy(and delicious) transition into Greek cuisine if you are a little unfamiliar with their food. The restaurant was beautiful. We sat on the patio for dinner and they had heat lamps so we were very comfortable. They brought us unlimited baskets of warm, fluffy pita bread with complimentary olive oil, as well as a chili oil. They also had a variety of dips that you could order to eat with the pita bread! We ordered the hummus and tzatziki dips which were so freaking good and perfect for sharing! We wanted a good number of dishes off of their dinner menu so we ordered all of them and shared everything. The portion sizes were perfect, not too small but not too big. And each one was so full of flavor and tasted so fresh! We ordered the Cava fries, brussels sprouts, cava mac n cheese, and they mini pita gyro’s. The cava mac n cheese was my favorite because it was literally a Greek version of mac n cheese. If you love feta, this is a great comfort food dish to order! Their mini pita gyro’s came in 3, and were adorable in size. You get about 5 – 6 bites per gyro which was enough to taste, and not to filling so that you could try other dishes! I’m already craving this place! These guys know how to get 5 stars and it is well deserved! Please open a location in San Francisco!!!

If you’re asking if boozy brunch is worth it here, the answer is YES. Definitely yes. $ 30AYCE and 1 cent mimosas… done. Our group of six tried all 20 tapas plates. Our favorites: + Eggs Benedict(classic, spicy lamb, & salmon) + Chx sage sausage + Pork belly anything + Gyro hash + Banana fritters + Nutella waffle As for the few things we did not particularly enjoy… these included: French toast, pasta & eggs(why?), and the grilled cheese(which is feta on pita, FYI). When it came to the mimosas, OJ is standard but if you are looking to be unique try their cider or grapefruit. If you are in the mood for bloody marys or sangria, add $ 2 to your bill partner. This Sunday seemed super busy, but the staff and service were excellent. Thank you Cava, for a truly delightful brunch!

I have been here a few times for dinner and once for brunch and I have to say Cava Mezze is as good as it gets! They are always busy, but I have never had to wait for a table more than 5 minutes. You would think that the fact they are so busy would impact their service, but somehow they remain very attentive, professional and present. I love that you can come here and feed your appetite no matter if you are very hungry or only looking for a nibble of something. I usually end up ordering one of their dips– the tzatziki is my favorite and just of their small plates for dinner and feeling full. The grilled meatballs are delicious, and my husband loves the octopus. There are so many options to choose from which makes Cava intriguing. I know I can come back and get a completely different meal than the last time and enjoy it! Their brunch deal is ridiculous, and I really have no idea how they make money offering what they do! They have a deal: $ 30 all you eat of any of their small plates on the list and 1 cent mimosas. You have 2.5 hours to take advantage of this deal, and they really allow you to do so. The servers are always around to refill your drink(which are quite good, and not gross sugary cheapo mimosas) and ask if you would like another plate. There is no small print on this deal, its just amazing. Cava, thank you for existing.
