I called in my order walked through the deep rain and showed up after 15 minutes(since they take FOREVER if you give the order in the store) and they told me they never heard of my order. There was no apology just excuses. I’m done with this place. Their customer service is awful and the people who work there don’t look happy – EVER.

I’ve had my share of gyros and this is by far the worst. None of the staff cracked a smile or said thank you the entire time. First let me start with the experience of ordering. I ask for the gyro special which comes with a drink and fries. The cashier doesn’t take a second look and calls for the next person. I ask for a drink cup and she says what drink do you want, so she was going to just let me go without even giving me my drink. I ask for unsweetened iced tea but they only have sweetened. I say what else do you have and she points at the drink dispenser which is vertically placed and NOT visible from where I stand at the counter. Completely incompetent. I end up with the sweetened iced tea which I take one sip of and decide it is undrinkable due to the fact that it is all sugar. Not ready for diabetes just yet. The cashier offers no apology after forgetting my drink and goes on with the next person. Out comes the food. It is dripping in sauce all over my desk and crazy salty. The lettuce(what little there was) was wilted and lay heavy under the weight of all the sauce. If it sounds like I’m describing a crime scene, it’s because it should be a crime to make such terrible food. When I take a closer look, there are pieces of black charcoal on one end and many slices of gyro had fallen out due to a complete lack of care in making it in the first place. I ate half and gave up. The fries were ok but some were soggy. I literally have gyro sauce all over the place. I cannot believe people actually eat here. Won’t be foolish enough to come back unless I wanna gain 10lbs and become diabetic.

My original destination was closed and I ended up here very much by accident. This was a find! I had one of the best chicken koobideh(ground chicken) here. You get high quality & well seasoned meat, fresh salad, nice clean white sauce, two separate(love that they do that) mounds of two different seasoned rices. Everything is made to order so you can’t be in a rush. My ginormous plate was $ 11 and I see that other reviewers had complained about the prices. It’s more than your average food court meal, I suppose, but this shouldn’t be compared to the burger you’d get from Five Guys next door. This is restaurant quality food that just happens to be served in a sad, aging downtown food court. Five stars for food and thoughtful service– not for the«ambiance» because there is none. Lol

Terrible. There is no fish in the $ 6.99 fish sandwich. Fries are wayyy too greasy. Skip it.

I wish there was no star option. Manager Saeed is the rudest person ever. People like him should never be dealing with customers.

nothing I’ve eaten here is bad. nothing. the chicken kabob is amazing. the gyro is amazing and something not on the menu but visibly available is the lamb shank. it’s like the holy grail in plain sight. I’m keeping this short because there is no reason why you should be reading this any further and not heading out to buy the lamb shank. order it now, thank me later. go.

Loved the place. A little bit on the slower side for fast food, but the food was AmAZing!!! We had the chicken koobideh and chicken kabob combo and a gyro sandwich. They cook all their bread In a tandoor. Loved that touch!

It’s in a food court, which is weird, but the meat is perfectly seasoned and grilled. Go with a friend and split the mixed platter(one beef kubideh skewer and one chicken kabob). It’s too much for one person! You will thank me!

Very pleasantly surprised for a quick lunch before heading to the airport. Gyro platter was very tasty; lamb well seasoned, fresh bread, decent tzatziki, and nice crispy fries. Will definitely go back when nearby and in need of quick food. Note: Food court was VERY noisy and packed with kids on field trips.

Ordered hummus and it tasted worse than store brought brands. It wasn’t flavored and the bread did not compliment it any better. Didn’t feel to welcomed or a need to revisit and taste anything else.

Had low expectations since I was in a food court. Whoa was I wrong. Just about the best kubideh kabob I have had– moist, juicy, well seasoned and served on top of an ample amount of rice and a fresh salad(not the wilted throw-away stuff many kabob joints out on the plate). Nice folks working and running the place is a bonus.

This is a location in a food court, and gets slammed at lunch. From my observations, there is consistently a line but they are efficient in handling it quickly. The chicken kabob platter is flavorful and huge. One gripe I have is that you get two types of rice, which ends up being far too much rice. You also receive a small green salad with a tzatziki type dressing, and some toasted naan type bread in a paper bag. The other main issue I have is that the chicken kabob lunch platter, and most other items here, are $ 11 without a drink. I wish they had smaller size platters for a lesser cost.

Chicken kabab is where it’s at! Lamb is usually tough and the beef is usually so-so but the chicken is always super tender and very flavorful. Substitute the white rice with chickpeas and get some of the brown rice and salad as well and you’ll be all set. Also, be sure to ask for a side of the green spicy sauce and the white sauce.

Food is good here. I recommend their chicken kabob with rice and naan. The seasonings are very good. There is always a line here but it usually moves pretty quickly. The portions are large. Once you order, service is a little slow for a food court, but the food is good. This is probably the best place in the food court.

Our group decided to head up to National Place for lunch today — and just about everyone pretty much demanded that I try Grill Kabob. The menu is Mediterranean, but the cashier spoke Spanish and it looked like a number of the employees were Hispanic as well. It makes no difference to me so long as they can cook good food. Even though it was packed in the food court, they worked quickly and efficiently and they were friendly. Coworkers ordered fish or chicken kabobs, but if there’s a gyro on a menu, I have a real hard time ordering anything else. The prices for a lot of the items seem a little bit on the expensive side. A lamb and chicken plate is about $ 18 — while I’m sure it’s great, it just feels awfully expensive for a lunch item. The gyro, on the other hand, is a little more reasonable at about $ 9. It’s pretty large and very tasty. It seemed like it had more meat than most other gyros I’ve had. Where I was a little confused was at the lack of onions. I usually ask for«light on the onions» — but I forgot today. It wasn’t a problem though. In fact, I’m not sure I tasted ANY onions at all. There are better gyros out there, but theirs is pretty great.

I’ve been here twice in the past two weeks, and though I obviously like it enough to go back, I’m not too happy about the service. I usually go around the slower periods, like 4:30 on a Friday(before Christmas) or 4:30 on a Saturday. My first experience on a Saturday was positive, as we arrived shortly before closing at 5 pm, and the cashier took our order even though he said the kitchen was closed. My second experience on a Friday was not as positive. After I took my order, the cashier made a call on his cell phone. Another guest came to order, and after she saw him on the phone, she said she’d come back. I don’t even know why she came back. There was only one employee working, and it took me a good 15 minutes to get my order. I stood there for the first ten minutes, then decided to walk to Esprinto Café to order a Mango smoothie, and when I came back, I still had to wait another two minutes. I don’t know if they were short staffed because of the upcoming holiday, but the cashier could have at least put a little bounce in his step to pretend like he cared about how fast we got our food. I ordered the Chicken Kabob both times, and I enjoyed the flavorings on the chicken and rice, but absolutely hate the amount of dressing they put on the lettuce(not sure you can call it a salad). My lettuce was drowning!

The kabobs here were pretty good, though not the best in the world. Comparing the food to Moby Dick’s, another area kabob establishment, I would have to say that Moby Dicks wins. Their chicken is slightly bigger and juicier, whereas the Grill Kabob chicken has more black charred crispy parts that I don’t like as much. I liked the cumin flavored rice and white rice and the bread, though an earlier reviewer was right — just out of the oven the bread is amazing, but as it cools down its not that good. Again, Moby Dick’s bread wins here. A note to the customers here: hang out around the counter while you wait for your number to be called. I felt so frustrated for the guy trying to hand out the food today — he called several numbers over and over again and it turned out the people were off wandering around the food court instead of waiting around the counter. This created confusion around the counter as food trays piled up. Our meal(chicken/beef kabob combo and dr. pepper btw) actually came out pretty fast, as did the two people who had been in front of us in line. So I am very annoyed at the customers who order and then wander off to go buy a drink somewhere else, slowing down the whole operation as the guy calls out their numbers in vain. In all, I enjoyed my meal here, and this is a solid option in the food court.

Color me unimpressed with the food quality at Grill Kabob. What’s good about Grill Kabob is the portion(lots of rice), and a large naan-like bread to accompany your meal. But complimenting the rice and bread at a Kabob restaurant is like praising the salad at a steakhouse… it’s not what I’m here for. Generally speaking, kabobs are rather easy to cook and serve, so it came as a surprise to me that my chicken kabob came undercooked and poorly seasoned. Set atop a bed of salad, the chicken was stringy, bland, and luke-warm…edible but unenjoyable, and for $ 10+, slightly painful to swallow. DC has so many Kabob alternatives, don’t waste your time and money on this place.

Really really really good bread! It’s a little like naan but also somewhat like a flatbread. hot and freshly baked and yummy! Their hummus wasn’t as awesome but the bread alone was totally worth the walk over here!
