That single star there is a gift. Because Relish gets a big zero. No. Stars. Not one. Despite the promise of the grand opening, which was fun, festive, and tasty and included a gift certificate for a return visit, this was the first time my husband, two sons and I walked out of a restaurant. Was the waiter just released from a halfway house? Possibly. We gave our order to the hostess after waiting 20 minutes: kids meal with sliders, Caesar salad, chopped salad, salmon. Sweet potato fries for the table. Twenty minutes later, our drinks done and still no sighting of the work-release waiter, we left.

We(party of 11) went to Relish to celebrate a birthday… The only good thing about the food was the appetizers. Subsequently they were the only thing to arrive to our table hot. Of the 11 of us, only 3 actually finished their meals. For a place that calls themselves a burger bistro, not one was cooked to order; they were all over cooked. It took us over an hour and a half to get our cold/over cooked meals and that was after asking our inattentive waitress where our meals were.

I ate at Relish last week. The pickings are slim for vegans, but I ordered a side of fries and a side of seasonal vegetables, asking that they not be cooked in butter or have any butter added. I was pleased to see a plate of steamed veg, which was tasty and not over done. I was NOT pleased to see that the $ 4 side had turned into a $ 12 main on my bill! With no consultation, warning or apology. It was far too much food, and doubled my bill. Watch out!

I had such high hopes that this would be great. Burgers clearly are a gourmet item now and I am always looking for a great burger joint. The menu looked good and service was good. Unfortunately the burger did not deliver. The patty had a previously frozen taste to it. The other guests with me felt the same way about their burger. The restaurant is new, I will try again because it is local. I hope they make a fix. BBP still leads the segment.

Went with some coworker for lunch. Same space as the old hotel restaurant — just a new name. Service was slow, and half of the entrees(3 of 6) came out wrong. Burgers were nothing special. French fries were cold(frustrating after how long we waited). The whole experience was underwhelming.

FYI, this place opened April 6, all the other reviews are for the restaurant that previously occupied the space. This place is awesome. We got the«tot-chos» which are tater tots covered in white chilli, cheese, onions, peppers and other good stuff. It was phenomenal and definitely big enough to share. My burger was fantastic. I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was cooked perfectly. This may just be the best burger in Waltham, and I don’t say that lightly. The waitress was great, super nice, attentive and knew the menu. I will absolutely be back.

Please avoid this restaurant at all costs. I went with a coworker to lunch today. The waiter showed zero interest in us. He screwed up both of our orders, cooking my friend’s burger well when he ordered medium rare and providing me a burger with onion rings and bacon when I had selected a healthier option. I alerted the waiter who confusingly argued with me. He eventually ended up comping me for the burger but that didn’t matter much at that point. Not sure why he opted to argue with a customer. He ruined the entire occasion for us. The food was good but spoiled by the poor service.

Must point out that John was our bartender for 3 times now and has given the best service. Our fourth time here and I think we are officially regulars. The food and the service is always perfect!

The breakfast menu offers omelettes but no scrambled eggs. No problem. I ordered an omelette with the request that the eggs be prepared«scrambled» instead of as an omelette(omelette = dense, brown, overcooked eggs)(scrambled = whisk eggs with air, stir in pan until just the point of being cooked). I realize the difference is subtle to the non-chef, but if you charge $ 17, your chef, whose only job is to cook food for paying customers, should know both preparations. Needless to say, I was served dense brown overcooked eggs. With cold toast. I hate leaving bad reviews but this restaurant’s prices are high — high prices come with high standards. Love the atmosphere though — big windows with natural light.

We had a certificate or would have never gone here. We waited for one hour for our food while they served a small party from the hotel at the bar We paid $ 38 for a dainty caesar salad and a dainty dish with 2 scallops and 2 small pieces of pork belly.

SUNDAYBRUNCH — I’ve had much better. We went for a special birthday meal, but nothing about it was special. First, the selection was very small. And, it was 95% breakfast items. Only 1 carved meat, turkey. A few roasted veggies and 1 pasta dish. That was it for non-breakfast items. Only a couple of dessert items. And truthfully, the food was mediocre at best. Most of the stuff wasn’t even hot. Service was good, but that can’t make up for the food. Sorry…

I had a dinner on March 16 and it was depressing even for a single business traveler. The best part of my dinner was the service. My waitress was wonderful. But nothing elsr wad good to mention. My burger was not bad but not $ 17 Good. The whole place looks like an employee cafeteria, but the price certainly is as high as a true nice restaurant. For a $ 7.5 bottle beer, I expect a lot more.

A pretty classy joint in the lobby of the Waltham Westin hotel(oooo swank you very much!). There was a wedding going on as my date and I arrived for our 7:30pm reservation, setting the desired romantic mood. We rounded the corner to — *cricket* an EMPTY dining room. Alright… maybe 7:30’s too early to judge? Maybe wait a bit? EHRRRRR!-wrong! It took up 2.5 hours to have our ENTREE + DESSERT and by the time we left there were only FOUR other tables other than our own(NOT good for a Saturday night!) Here are my notations from the dinner that was«meh»: *Thank the stars for Groupon! «Reservations recommended»…not so much. The place was beautiful! Clean! Chic! …and empty on a Saturday night. *It’s summer… SITONTHEPATIO! It was REALLY nice(way better than being the only person inside, too). The recently wed bride and groom came out to have their pictures taken on the patio, too(ahh romance: nothing quite like a summer breeze, power lines and flagpoles, and the sound of the speeding autos of 128 traffic in the background). *Tick-tock! I might have understood the duration of time between arrival, order, serve, dessert, check IF there was a full house… but there were four tables. To our server’s credit, she did go above and beyond when it came to the dessert(. The menu had blueberry pie with maple sorbet, but there was no more maple sorbet(and im not really a «vanilla sorbet» kind of girl). *Taste: it was there for my Mediterranean Couscous Tamale(though the couscous was a little dry). The place has potential… but just didn’t rope me in.

The food is fine. My husband really enjoyed his, although his dessert never appeared. My salad was okay when it finally came about 75 minutes after we arrived. The place was woefully understaffed the night we ate there. Service was so bad the restaurant comped our dinner.

My husband and I went to this place because we had a groupon. We live in Waltham and I had no idea it was even there. We called to make a 7:30pm reservation thinking that on a Saturday night it would be crowded. We were surprised to see that we were the only two people there. We thought it would be fun to have a restaurant to ourselves and get some really great services. Turns out it was a really weird experience. We started off by being seating and more than 15 minutes passed before our waitress came by to introduce herself. I could understand that happening on a Saturday night but we were the ONLY people there. She had NOOTHER patrons. So she brings us water and proceeds to spill half of it on my side of the table and on my leg. Side note, there was complete silence in the restaurant. No mood music or anything. So my husband and I basically whispered to each other all night long because it was too quiet! Best part of the night was the appetizers. We should have stopped there. Throughout the night, there was a staff setting up for an event. So there was constant movement right near us of assembling tables. It was distracting. Then the rest of the wait staff was clearly setting up all of the tables for breakfast the next day and we felt like we were holding them up from leaving for the night and setting up their last table. When we got our food, it wasn’t great. It was very bland and didn’t have great flavor. I know it’s supposed to be healthy for you there, but healthy doesn’t have to mean bland. Our waitress for the night was a bit odd for us as well. She kept asking us how everything was and when we kept saying«ok» or «fine» she would just linger for a few seconds awkwardly like she wanted to say something else but never did. Not a great experience adn I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. You can go to Moody Street in Waltham for much better food and you’re guaranteed to have a much more lively scene!

Tasty and healthy? Say it isn’t so! Having a Groupon was a big help with the price, as I’d otherwise not pay $ 31 for the scrod. However, it was rather good, but the highlight for me was the calamari appetizer. Nice and crunchy and delicious, but could have used more tentacles.

Seventy @ Third is a great place to dine for the health conscious eater. Their menu features superfoods options, which are dishes made from«ingredients rich in nutrients and antioxidants.» I tried their superfoods tomato soup and sesame and black pepper seared salmon salad. It was superb. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the bed of greens was fresh. It was topped with a pomegranate dressing that was both sweet and tangy and a perfect pairing for the salad. The tomato soup was rich in flavor, albeit a bit on the spicy side. It was a nice change from traditional bland tomato soup. I went on a Wednesday night. It was pretty dead. The food came out quickly, which was nice. They didnt bother us after we were finished eating. I stayed there chatting for about an hour after we were finished eating. However, I imagine that would not be okay if it were a busy night. Yet, being in an obscure area, I doubt it ever gets that packed. Traffic most likely picks up after work gets out, since it is in a business area.

So you know that big glass Westin Hotel on 128 sitting up on the hill and always looking so Blade Runnery? Doesn’t it look like a place for bored Metrowest businessmen to conduct affairs? It’s so Bordello du Officepark style architecture. In fact, I had heard a lil’ rumor or two from an ex-Westin employee there about a certain, erm, businesswoman who had her world headquarters there, but, um, I digress. So the point is, sex is in the back of my mind as I pull into the parking garage to meet some coworkers for after-work drinkies. And then I see the mimes standing at the driveway. Yes, mimes. And they’re talking. And I see rather, uh, robust women in dresses, tiaras and sashes saying«Femme Fatale.» Let me stress that in case you didn’t catch the drift: ROOOWWWWWWW-BUSSSSSTTTTT. It’s like a fricking Fellini film. Or a damn good tranny party. Turns out, it’s a national conference for some home lingerie/“bedroom assistance aids” party company. So my coworkers and I are subjected to the sight of more beauty queens, not as robust, but definitely had that tan-in-a-can look of beauty pageant contestants if they were carved out of old leather or wood. And it’s convention prom night, so they’re all being squired about by the type of guys who in Europe probably wanted to be gigolos when they grew up, but had the bitch goddess of fortune laugh and plop them down in the US of A instead. And some of these businesswomen hit us up for business cards because it’s some game they’re playing to collect the most from strangers. One of my coworkers gives away a bunch of his, but he’s in IT, so I guess that’s the equivalent of meeting chicks. Anyhoo, 70@3rd is the name of the bar in this here hussy hotel headquarters. The drinks are overpriced, started out strong, and then got kind of weak. Their martini menu is what you would find at any TGIFriday’s. We relocated to the outside deck that lets you look over 128 and watch the sun set. We told out waiter we were headed out there and then wondered why he didn’t come out to take our order. If he had told us they can’t take orders on the deck before we’d gone out there, it would have probably gotten him an extra percentage or two on the tip. And before I get flamed for stiffing hardworking servers(I used to be one) the place was not busy on a Friday evening, so he had no excuse not to be looking after us. He. Just. Didn’t. Care. So that’s the review, but basically, I thought the Miss Americas and the mimes were pretty kooky.
