Seriously the nicest place I’ve been too! Besides the fact that the coffee is phenomenal, the service is amazing! I was in town providing a ride to a friend having surgery. Since we live in Castro Valley, it didn’t make sense for me to drive all the way home to wait. I found this coffee place so I could sit, have a bite to eat, a cup of coffee and work. I spotted two plugs for charging, but the tables next to them were taken. The owner/manager saw I was looking and came over to my table and helped me move to another spot that was next to a plug behind the bar. He went out of his way to help me and here I am writing my review. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular here. I will definitely stop by when I’m back in town.

Interesting little strip mall kind of randomly discovered in Walnut Creek, but the interior was clean, the chairs were comfortable, and the service was prompt. They have a wide variety of espresso drinks– cortado, flat white, etc. in addition to the usual types. Not too expensive, and they have an extensive pastry selection as well as a variety of beans for purchase.

I needed a place to grab coffee before work and found this place on Unilocal and glad I came! The coffee is wonderful and rich. I always get iced latte with non-fat or 2% milk and it’s so yummy and smooth. They have a wide variety of pastries and always look fresh. I think this would be a great place to study or read because there are a lot of tables and it isn’t too noisy. There isn’t a lot of parking available so something to keep in mind.

Came looking for a decent coffee shop in Walnut Creek with chai and was glad to find this place. I was so happy to see that they use David Rio chai(my favorite!) and it was an absolutely delicious iced chai. Not sweet, nicely spiced — perfect! It is hard to find a decent chai, so as a non-coffee drinker, I am often stuck with Starbucks if I really want chai(whose chai is way too sweet and syrupy tasting), thus I so appreciate finding a place like Pacific Bay. Drinks came up fast and overall very efficient service.

Perfect cortado. Smooth and creamy. Lot of staff — guess I got in before the rush. Very reasonable prices. Came back again on a hot day and asked for an iced version — very well done.

Driving from LA to hit Napa valley bottle rock. My BF needs his morning coffee we decide to stop here instead of Starbucks to support the locals :) sadly we didn’t have a nice welcome. We walked in and I’m a person who always like to wash my hands before i do anything. Well my BF was in line while I asked for the restroom key, the guy who I believe was the manager didn’t give me the key till I bought something … Keep in my mind BF was in line at the register to buy his coffee and my hot tea. I found this Really rude and bad for business. I understand restroom are for customers only but when we are by the register ready to order he still try to first take my order then handle the key… Seriously ??¿¿

You’ve all heard of Micro– Breweries, now we have a Micro Roastery! Not roast ducks or chickens… but coffee beans! Pacific Bay roast their own beans right there in the shop in small batches… you can see the machine right there! I stumbled upon Pacific Bay while waiting for the Russian restaurant a few doors down to open and I had a little wait, so we went on in. It was jam packed with locals all tapping or swishing on their personal electronic devices, so I guess the wi fi is good here! The place looks to be all Asian run by the looks of the young staff all zooming about super efficiently. The place is super clean and modern. The my plain coffee is priced at $ 1.85 for a small, same as Starbucks, but seems better for some reason. Watching orders of toast come out, I can’t help but notice how evenly the slices are toasted across the width of the bread, not any slop job half burnt crust and white in the middle toast here … that’s that Asian eye for detail for ya! I looked at the prices for their house roasted coffee … uhhh … $ 16/lb to $ 20/lb? I get its boutique roasted coffee, but when I can get Peet’s at Costco for $ 6.50/ lb … my caffeine addiction can’t justify the hugely higher prices. I did like my house pour though. I’d come back here again to sip some coffee and use the WiFi, it’s such a clean cut crowd out there in suburban Walnut Creek! There is a parking lot, but the spaces fill fast!

Happy find. Inexpensive. Good latte art. Solid coffee(could be a bit stronger but smooth) The vegan gluten free heart shaped cookie was truly the gem. $ 2.5 for the pack of 2. Cute heart shaped and extremely tasty. Will be back :)

This independent coffee house is the perfect alternative to Walnut Creek’s otherwise more upscale, run-of-the-mill coffee chains(Peet’s, Starbucks) or trendy, hipster-laden coffee spots(Coffee Shop). I appreciate anyone who takes great pride in their coffee and I LOVE how the Pacific Bay roasts their own beans, pulls their own espresso, and knows what differentiates different espresso beverages from the other. I’ve become quite the coffee snob lately(hey, working in a coffee shop is enough of an excuse, right?!) and I love how this place pulls great espresso but doesn’t have the uptight nature of a lot of coffee spots these days. They simply do what they do, care for the beans they use and roast in a light-medium roast for a sweeter, milder coffee flavor. I’ve only ever come here twice, but these are the top things I’ve noted: — they roast their own beans, which equates great espresso with great care for their coffee(offers quality drip and espresso beverages) — variety of milk options — open and comfortable seating area, with nice large open windows all-around — generally pleasant and welcoming staff(seems like an Asian family runs this business; was also greeted as I walked in; no conversation struck but I imagine it’s generally a small, low-key crowd on the daily) I tend to like to get lost in my work, time or company when I go to a coffee shop, and I love how comfortable this place feels. Not overly trendy or uptight – just good coffee. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area to pop up a spot with my laptop or have some down time with a friend.

This review is for their tea only… The owner is VERY nice and friendly. Their tea… absolutely flavorless. Three of us ordered tea. One ordered an Earl Grey, two of us ordered Masala Chai lattes. All three of us agreed that our teas were weak. The one gal who ordered Earl Grey allowed her tea to steep 5 minutes and said the flavor was lackluster. I and my husband said our Chai lattes tasted like water… we even added honey and all we could taste was the honey. Being tea drinkers, we are positive Pacific Bay doesn’t know how to brew a proper cup of tea. They probably use fewer tea leaves to save money. If a coffee shop is going to sell and tout their tea leaves to their customers, they need to learn to brew it properly. Didn’t buy any pastries. They did not look appetizing.

I was at Kaiser for a few days and would stop by twice a day for a pour over. Their bean menu is top notch from producers all over the world who use natural processes for cultivation and processing. We live in the mission district in San Francisco, which is blanketed with excellent and world renown coffee roasters. Pacific is very much in that league, maybe better.

This is a great small business alternative to the large chains like Starbucks and Peet’s, with even better coffee. The coffee here has excellent flavor and is always fresh. It’s very smooth and not bitter at all. So much better than Starbucks, which always tastes burnt to me. The location is a nice place to meet people, get some work done, or just relax. The staff is always super friendly too. I not only like their coffee, but they have a great tea selection too. They seem to be one of the few places around that sells Matcha Tea that doesn’t already have milk added. If you want a Matcha Latte they can still make it for you, but if you enjoy just plain Matcha they have it. I can’t say enough good things about Pacific Bay and I enjoy going every time I’m in Walnut Creek and want coffee or Tea. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Pac Bay is simply the best coffee in the world. I forget how spoiled I am to be walking distance to the best coffee in the world until I travel and I have to drink coffee that was not hand roasted by Christopher(I like to think) especially and perfectly for me. I almost hesitate or recommend it, as once you have, you will be ruined for lesser coffee. But it is SOGOOD, I hope every person, everywhere in the world, will at least get one chance to sip of it’s divine nectar.

I’m going to praise this mom & pop coffee shop for their fresh & quality coffees. I used to work at KP across the street & my co workers & I would order from here any time we could… So every time I’m in town, I’d still holler @ this joint because no one makes mocha freezes, and I repeat — NOONE — makes it like they do. Must try & support them! Friendly & fast service. Clean. And they have some breakfast items too. Support your local businesses!

Pacific Bay offers the boutique coffee experience without pretension. The employees are clearly coffee aficionados and will point you directly to the best beans in their micro roastery. In my case, it was an exquisite single source Guatemalan coffee that far exceeded my expectations. They have a full range of coffee gadgets, from AeroPress to siphon, with two cup servings around $ 5 – 6. I tried the Guatemalan beans in a French press and siphon to determine the difference. As expected, the siphon produced a clean, pure taste that pleased everyone at the table. There’s also a nice selection of snacks and baked goods. Their cranberry and apricot scones were particularly nice for a light breakfast. While the interior is cluttered, you can easily slide tables together to accommodate a group. All in all, a fine coffee experience that demonstrates you don’t need a posh interior or detail-obsessed baristas to enjoy some of the latest innovations.

Ahhhh! Really want to give this place 5 stars but been here twice recently and both time my cappuccino has been tasting like a latte. I’m not a big fan of too much milk so capp lacked the strong espresso taste. I don’t know if it’s the beans, or just a light roast or the machine… something is not right with the espresso. I gauge good coffee shop by the size of their cappuccino cup and latte art. This place has both going so not sure. Coffee was light but smooth and baristas take their time to make your drinks. Simple latte art but it’s there ;)

Came in with my husband back in July on our wedding anniversary. I had just taken him to an appointment at Kaiser and it was early in the morning. Instead of a friendly pick-me-up stop for us, we both felt like the employees were the ones who needed a morning coffee more than we did. Really not a friendly vibe. Coffee wasn’t bad but it was almost $ 8 for both our drinks and I only had a black drip coffee. For that price at least give me a smile and don’t act impatient when I ask to use honey in my coffee instead of sugar.

Corner location, decent parking when we went but you the lot is small and shared with other business’s. Ordered a medium roast coffee hot and an iced coffee for my boyfriend. The iced coffee was more on the dark side which I’m not too much of a fan over. My medium roast was good, tasted more on the dark side than medium tho. The place is okay, a nice place to try. The inside has an interesting lay out and the way you purchase and order are sort of confusing. No simple syrup at this coffee shop.
