Lucky Family Hair salon

Since moving to California, I have been to 7 – 8 barbershops, hair salons, Supercuts, etc before finding this place. I just wanted to find a place I can always go to and count on.
My friend initially recommended Nasko at Lucky Hair Salon. I have been going to him for past 3 years, and I do not go anywhere else. Nasko is a true professional in a way he never rushes and attend to every request you make. He’s also always on time. His haircuts are stellar and I only get praises from friends and family. Since my first haircut, I have referred many friends here.
These days, even my 5 yr old gets his haircuts here. You are awesome, Nasko!

I have been going to this place to get my hair cut for the last seven years and have always been satisfied. Jeanie does a really good job and my hair always grows and lays nicely afterwards.
Prices are really decent and she is very friendly and takes her time, I am always pleased with her.

Do not see anyone else but Ms. Kim. This is her salon and she is awesome! Also for some reason, her phone number is not listed on here… or someone keeps changing it. It’s 925−933−6362.

If you are a girl with long hair who wants anything more than a blunt cut, do NOT go here. I’ve been a couple times for inexpensive trims, but I end up needing a pricey haircut shortly after because the generic cuts at lucky don’t flatter my face.
Something about the way the stylist ran blades to my ends caused them to split a week later too. I’ve had plenty of great, $ 25 cuts for long layers elsewhere.
This place isn’t worth the cutback.

I have been looking for an affordable hair salon in the area for my daughter and I. They were very nice and gave my daughter the style that she was looking for. I didn’t need anything except for a trim but it came out perfectly. Great Job.

These people are rude. No wonder I hardly see customers inside.
I walked in a few weeks ago and there was an employee sitting in the front… busy with her iPad. After 20 seconds, she finally looked up and asked me what I needed. I asked her how much it would cost to straighten my hair with a flat iron. It’s a simple job that I can do at home, but I was in a rush and wanted someone to do it for me because it’s a lot quicker and easier. It would’ve taken them about 20 minutes. My hair was already washed and ready to go. She asked me twice if I needed my hair washed. I said no. Then she asked me how long my hair was. I took it out of the ponytail and showed her that it’s not very long at all. She stared at me for a few seconds and said «It’s gonna be $ 30.»
I said «$ 30 to flat iron my hair?!» She said yes because she really didn’t know how long or difficult my hair was. Ummm… ok! My hair was down. She could see everything. Nice excuse! I told her that other salons charge me $ 10. It’s so easy to do. She used the same excuse again. It was very obvious that she just didn’t feel like doing my hair. Her iPad was obviously more exciting. I said, «No wonder there are no customers in here.» And I walked out.
So rude and unprofessional!

Nasko is an experienced stylist who does a terrific job with coloring. My color looks natural and Nasko takes his time to cut my hair. You can tell he really enjoys his work and values his customers. I highly recommend giving Nasko the opportunity to show you his dedication to giving a high value cut and/​or color.

They did a great job cutting my hair and theres a Starbucks just one door down. Gotta love that!

This is the only place I go to for my haircuts.
I have been going here since 2007 and have nothing but great things to say about Mrs. Kim. When i first got my haircut, i was a recent college graduate who had moved back home. I had been going to another local hair salon since I was a youngster circa 96′ but got tired of the poor service from the hairstylist. (i.e talking on the phone, not fulfilling the appointment times by overbooking, etc)
So through some references I found Mrs. Kim’s hair salon. The name of the shop speaks for itself, I felt lucky to find this salon. The most important thing to me is that Mrs. Kim listens to the styles that I request. Never makes an assumption of what I want. I am now a working professional and gone are the days of number 0 fades and fo hawks!!! She always listens to what I want and executes with perfection. What I also enjoy is that she actually fulfills her appointments and if there is any delay, she will overly communicate with me so I don’t head back to work late.
She was away for vacation in April and I decided to go back to my old hair salon in Concord. Well, of course my «appointment» was a 45 minute wait and the stylist once again on her cell phone socializing and my «low fade» turned into the same hairstyle i requested back in college. SMH I wont let anyone besides Mrs. Kim touch my hair again!
Ironically I was in another city last week and was advised to check the «best barber in town» My buddy waited an hour and requested I get a haircut since we were waiting so long. I stuck with my gut and decided to wait to head back into WC to see Mrs. Kim, and of course the «best barber» in Fremont did not cut my friends hair the way he requested. SMH

ALWAYS a great cut! I’ve been getting my hair cut by Jeanie for 10 years, and i am always pleased. She always remembers the way I like my hair and is very consistent! I love the fact that I can just walk in, without an appointment. HIGHLY recommended.

Been going here for the last 10 years. Mrs. Kim is the only one I trust with my hair.

I suppose there are more than 1 hair stylist in this salon. We did NOT get «ms. Kim».
Instead, we got someone else who cut my wife’s hair very poorly. The bangs were ridiculously short… to the point where the hair was laughable. Unfortunately, it was no laughing matter as hair takes months to grow back to acceptable lengths.
Come here if you are short on cash or don’t have time to make an appointment elsewhere (drop-​ins welcome). I’m sure «ms. kim» does a decent job, but our experience with «the other one» left us with a negative feeling.
Sorry! I rarely give 1 star ratings, but the hair cut was really bad… months after the hair was cut, it’s still looking bad.

My friend (who lives in W.C.) and I stopped by for a spur of the moment haircut. She has looong, thick straight hair and I had medium-​lengthy curly hair. Ms. Kim was assisting a Korean mother and daughter with their hair, so we had the other cosmetologist.
After our experience, on the way to our car, my friend told me that she thought the woman who cut our hair was lazy. My friend (RV) asked for a few layers on top, which is her normal, standard style but somehow the woman discouraged her from doing this. RV also thought it was odd that she didn’t suggest or ask us if we wanted our hair washed first. Finally, my friend didn’t feel her hair was straight in the back but the woman assured her that it was.
My cut was fine on the other hand. She seemed to have a good, general understanding of curly hair (after a few minutes of discussion and suggestions from me) and I walked out with a fair, decent cut.
I’d like to give this place a 3 star rating but I’m sure my friend would give zero to one stars, so… 2 star total. Other details: $ 20 hair cuts for women, the place seems to be popular with men, Starbucks is right next door.

Since I moved to walnut creek 2 yrs ago I have been going to Mrs. Kim. She is very professional and always cuts my hair the right way. Also she is very nice and kind. I highly recommend her! Her price is very good for a quality haircut. In the past she did not accept credit card but now does and I find it way more convenient. Go to her and you wont be dissappointed. Although, it may take at least one haircut for her to know what your preference is.

jeannie gave a goodt haircut and was very friendly. i’m going back tomorrow to get highlights.
she also cut my sister’s hair and it looks wonderful! she has long hair and jeannie cut long layers in and it looks full and fabulous!

The only place outside of Asia and my own house that I’ll go for a haircut.
Mrs. Kim is friendly and so are the other hairstylists there. Experienced and professional, and I trust them with my hair. And I’m incredibly picky about hair.
About the credit cards, I’m sure they do take credit, since every time I’ve been there I’ve used credit.
All in all, wonderful experience. Every time I’m home in NorCal I come here to get my hair trimmed. They’re excellent thinners of hair, too, especially with monstrously thick hair like mine.

Nice and friendly. Decent haircut (but mine is pretty simple). About $ 16. Within walking distance. No credit cards. Hankook. I’ll return!
