First I want to say that I’m a hairstylist and also black. I know what I want, but also know that in school we were taught that hair is hair. I did my research and spoke with Mina on the phone first. I really liked her vibe. When I arrived, I didn’t have to wait, and she cut my hair exactly how I wanted. My hair is relaxed and cut very short. I’m very impressed

This salon is great! Negda is my hair stylist and I always leave very happy with her work. Plus she’s super sweet and friendly! It’s easy to connect with her. She is an expert in coloring, styling/​blowouts, and cuts. I highly recommend her to everyone:-)

Mina made my 7 year old son look like a very handsome young man. She made me look several year younger as she somehow found some of my old dark hair under my new grey. Mina pays close attention to detail which is important in my opinion. She is also very kind and attentive. I’m very happy with her and Grateful Hair. This kind of business will keep the old downtown of WC a destination.

I came and had Eli work on my hair. It was so damaged from being bleached and she not only revived my hair but gave me exactly the cut I asked for! Super sweet to talk to and very approachable! She’s now my regular, and that says a lot because I don’t trust ANYONE with my hair!

This review is specially for Negda in this very friendly, clean and stylish saloon in DownTown Walnut Creek: Negda is truly a color specialist. She is knowledgable, caring and a good consultant to talk to you if you are not 100% sure about the hairstyle and color that you have in your mind. I do referred her in the past to many of my friends as I am being asked about my hairstyles. Even I get the question from random people as I am in the line or in a meeting and I will share with them her contact info. She impressed me as I told her that I like to keep my natural color and the grays and just have some accent highlight and she immediately gave me three options. As she gave me the consultation I felt her confidence and competence on what she is doing. She did an awesome job and exceed my expectation. Beside her experience I really enjoy her personality and her company as we get together! She is the one!

I love coming to Mina for a haircut. I’m a girl with short hair thats constantly changing styles and she always makes it look just how I wanted. She pays a lot of attention to detail and takes her time. Great haircuts, especially for such an affordable price. Mina is great and I always leave happy. Very friendly place!

Must go see Elli! My hair feels and looks amazing! I initially wanted a partial highlight but she advised if I wanted better gray coverage, I should first do an all over color which she was absolutely correct. My hair is now one color and she gave me exactly what I wanted! I plan on going to her for all my cuts/​touchups. Her expertise is proven by the end results. She could have given me highlights which cost more and I would have not my grays covered. but the all over color she did made my hair even and feel so much more healthy! I definitely recommend this place! Friendly environment and a great group of ladies that will make your day of pampering very enjoyable with good conversation!

Wonder why Unilocal gives it one $. Easily it is $$ if not $$.
Price on one side but I wasn’t even greeted by them. Not a single word exchanged throughout the session, the lady was grumpy enough or too tired after all day’s work.
Haircut was very mediocre kind and probably it took about 5 minutes. When I asked to clean the hair just above my ears, she was like I tried… but…and the sentence wasn’t even complete.
Good bye ladies… you may possibly be good for folks giving you high reviews, but you just lost one customer for life.
More suprising was there was nobody apart from me in their shop in this busy walnut creek evening.
I had to pay for parking too :-(

I have been seeing Azar for the past three years. She is amazing at cut, color and up dos. She is quick, professional and so kind. The salon is clean and there is a nail place in back that is super convenient. You cannot beat the price! You can make an appt or just walk in. Walk in time depends obviously, sometimes you get right in, sometimes there is a little wait. I highly recommend grateful hair!

Beware!!! They let idiots near your head with sharp objects!
The «stylist» would not listen to how I told her I wanted my hair cut. I told her FOUR TIMES how I like it cut and I still left dissatisfied. I don’t have much hair, it’s not a tough assignment to cut it. I’ve had talented stylists at SuperCuts get me in and out of the chair in 10 min with good results. This clown took over 40 minutes. I could do a better job myself with a beard trimmer

My hair stylist, Negda, is not only enjoyable to spend time with… but she is extremely talented at cutting my long, layered hair and coloring it too ! I love the personal attention I receive from Negda and I know she really cares about creating the look I want. Many people compliment me on my hair style & color and I always feel good about referring them to Negda and the Grateful Hair Salon for their color and hair cuts !! Grateful Hair is a very friendly, reasonable priced salon in Walnut Creek and I also love that I am able to get an appointment quickly.

Grateful Hair may just be a small, not super fancy hair salon that offers walk-​ins but don’t let that fool you! Azar is the owner and she’s not only super sweet but amazing with haircuts and ALSO she can color hair, up there with the best of them. I have naturally medium brown hair and get full highlights and breaking of the base color. She really is AWESOME! I also have a short slightly a-​lined bob that needs up keep often. I really can’t say anything but great things about this salon. The prices are SO adorable too! If you are looking for an easy place to get your hair cut or colored or both. This is your place. No snooty receptionist checking out what you are wearing or how you look. Just nice service!

Ok so I came to this place based on so many good reviews and how affordable it was. When I went in I had really long beautiful hair, all I wanted was more layers in the back and front, a side bang, and a little, just a LITTLE trim on the length. I have been doing this kind of style for over ten years now, I know what my hair can do. Anyways, not only did they cut the heck out of my hair, they made my layers supper choppy! It was all over the place! I lost my long beautiful hair that took me three years to grow and the great texture I already had! Now I have to wait until it grows in order for it to be fixed! This was the worst experience I’ve ever had!
