This review is long overdue.
I am a victim of thinning hair with a true possibility that it will not get better, before it gets worse. I didn’t need any more stress on the topic, as I am sure that doesn’t help and could possibly make things worse. Ugh, I prayed daily — «Please help me grow my hair and make it as it once was». I’ll never forget the day I called in to see what services they offered. From the moment I spoke with Renee, I got a great sense that I would be in good hands. All she said was, «Come in and let me help you». And she did… holy cow — my prayers were answered. I am so, so happy I followed through.
I’ve been a customer a little over a year now. You will feel so comfortable here. Discretion is a priority and key for the shop. They cater to those in need due to illness… the dreaded C word. There is no shame or embarrassment. They have everything anyone could ever want or need. Your purchase will be cared for and they know what they are doing. Janelle is OUTSTANDING and takes excellent care of her customers… and the shop mascot, Sammy — ADORABLE.
You will not be disappointed — I tell everyone I can to check them out if they are in need.

Amanda is amazing with extensions! She works fast, diligently, but yet is like the best friend you never had when it comes to conversation :) She always offers to curl my hair for no cost, and really goes above and beyond to make sure I’m taken care of. She’s a perfectionist and is fantastic at what she does I can’t express how many compliments I get on my hair as a result of her work!

Renee is knowledgable, very friendly, and helped me pick out exactly what I was looking for. She taught me a few things about care and some of my options while I grow out my natural hair.

Wonderful selections of wigs and hair pieces. The gal’s Suzanne and Ernie who work there are very helpful and a lot of fun.

Most fun you will ever have! Best inventory of wigs, hair pieces and extensions — also provide styling, color, etc. of your own hair. Been around for 35+ years and you won’t find more experienced and helpful people. It’s worth your time — discover a new look or enhance what you have!

They understand their customers. Some want lots of attention and some just want to look and be able to ask questions. I felt like they get that! Loosing your hair can be traumatic but the experience of trying on wigs was great and when asked — they gave HONEST feedback about shape, color and style. As a result — I got a fun one to change my look up and continue to receive lots of compliments on it.

Renee and the whole staff are super friendly and so so helpful. I’ve just started chemo and will be losing my hair within 2 weeks.
They talked to me, asked me what I liked, narrowed down the choices for me and after trying on just a couple of wigs, they got the perfect one for me and I left there feeling a million times better.
I have been to another wig place in Dublin who were ok but these ladies at Wig Works were very positive and even offered to cut my hair for me in 2 weeks and trim my wig if needed for free!
I would send anyone needing this service in a heartbeat to these wonderful ladies!

I drove nearly two hours to visit the shop based on a friend’s recommendation and it was worth every minute of the drive. Renee was extremely knowledgable and knew exactly what would work for me. They have a huge selection and nice location. I am a happy lady!

Thank God I found this place. I’ve been slowly thinning for the past 6 years and I’ve tried everything. One morning I spent an hour trying to ‘do’ my hair and after multiple tears decided I’d had enough and that I’d visit this shop and check out their toppers.
Renee was a god send. She is incredibly knowledgable and has a real flair for what she does. She was patient, kind and really schooled me (in a good way) on what I should be looking at. For me, a synthetic topper was perfect. It wasn’t overly expensive. I paid $ 140 and it looks amazing. Friends didn’t believe me when I said that I was wearing hair, they thought I’d had my hair done. My husband seems to think I’m just having a good hair day when I wear it and then I tell him it’s a topper.
My only regret is not getting one sooner. For women hair and self esteem go hand in hand. It was demoralizing for me to see my hair slowing disappearing. Now I have great hair whenever I want. I love it. Oh, and toppers are so easy to put in and I am a complete idiot at doing hair. Yay for toppers, and Renee!

I have been using clip in hair extensions for over 5 years now. I recently moved back to the Bay Area and was trying to find a more local place to purchase my regular blonde remy clip in extensions. I walked into this hair salon and found that the staff was very unknowledgeable about their hair and the hair was SEVERELY OVER PRICED! I payed $ 140 for the same exact hair that they were selling for $ 345! Buyers beware!

Went in not knowing what to expect. I’ve patronized many wig salons over the past and few have had the right combination of variety, selection, service and price. Wig Works has it all. Great selection to choose from. If you want to try something on, just pluck it from the shelf. There are no nasty sign telling you to «Please don’t handle the merchandise.» There is a large variety of styles, manufacturers and price points so finding what you like is not a chore. I was assisted by Renee in selecting a style and color choice. Janelle quickly made a few small adjustments, and I was done!
Suffering from alopecia I really wanted to find someplace where my privacy was respected. The styling area is tucked discretely away from windows and the front door. I appreciated that tremendously.
Searching from wigs just got a whole lot easier. Thank you Renee and Janelle. I’m a happy customer.

Janelle is an «artist». One feels secure when she does her MAGIC WITH YOUR HAIR. She is a talented hair stylist! I am a skeptic & visited many shops upon my move from So CA to the East Bay in Walnut Creek. My frustration was unending till I
was fortunate to visit WIG WORKS and experience Janelle’s expertise. Several ladies complemented my hair & they in turn have become satisfied hair clients at Wig Works. The store features a variety of full wigs as well as clip-​on hairpieces one of which I purchased. Renee who assists with the wigs is helpful & patient. Janelle’s expertise includes hair extensions. It is a welcoming experience to visit this shop which offers top service, an extensive inventory and caring assistance.

My hair had gotten thin from medication I was taking and I was so self-​conscious. I had no idea what my options were but I wanted to do something. This shop features everything from styling your own hair to extensions, from full wigs and hairpieces to add-​ons for cheerleaders. So options abound.
Renee is so helpful, juggling multiple customers all at one time and somehow managing to make everyone feel taken care of. She knows her stuff and couldn’t be friendlier.
Janelle is an exceptional stylist, so she’s great at applying her styling skills to helping you find the right wig, the right hairpiece, the styles that work for your face and style, the colors that flatter you most. I watched her with a number of customers and she was just great. Janelle was extraordinary, spending time to find out about each customer’s priorities and what options were available. She also trimmed a wig for one of the customers when I was there and it looked totally new.
More than just coming up with some great solutions, she listened and cares and has an incredible sense of compassion. And beyond that, she’s just really good at what she does. My first choice would have been to have my thick hair back, but short of that, I walked out happy with what I got. And I felt understood and nurtured in the process. Now I want to drop in just to say hello!

I am a cancer patient. Since my hair was thinning so rapidly from the chemo I just decided to go ahead and shave my head. Before I did, I researched wig shops in my area and found this place on Unilocal.I’m SO glad I did. My best friend and I had so much fun trying on all the wigs. Meeting Janelle was a spiritual experience that I’ll never forget. She was extremely professional and helpful in choosing a wig that was right for me. She even trimmed my wig while I was wearing it to create bangs for me. On top of all this, she also shared her own cancer survivor story with me. She is truly an amazing lady. I was so inspired by her. I am going to tell everyone I know about her shop.

I have been going to Janelle since May 2000. She is the only person I trust with my hair. Whether it was extensions (had them for 2 years), highlighting, or just a haircut, she has always done an excellent job. She does hair discretely in the back of the salon instead of in the front for all to see. She has gone out of her way to help me. She is very sweet, caring, and upbeat. I don’t know what I would ever do without Janelle.

Janelle is the only person I can entrust with my hair. I’ve been doing extensions for about 11 years. After trying out dozens of places between here and London, Janelle is definitely a hidden gem. Very experienced, honest, and reasonable. The salon is a comfortable and discreet place to get your extensions done. She is a 5-​star hairdresser, without a doubt.

This place is unbelievable! Janelle and Rene, are «the Dynamic Duo», that run this place. They are sooooo very nice and helpful. They give you honest opinions. I have been to many many wig shops, this one is the BEST IN THE BAY AREA. Janelle went out of her way to help me fix this wig that I had ruined. She is sympathetic to women who have lost their hair due to medical or other reasons. I totally «heart» this place. I brought my sisters with me and we had so much fun trying on different styles for me, my sisters even started trying on wigs! Janelle and Rene are awesome, did I say that already? You will not regret coming here. The selections of wigs are high quality and they have a very nice assortment! From designers to unknowns, from purple wigs to platinum blonde wigs. I wish I could give them 100 stars!

4 stars for the store…5 stars for Janelle who does my extensions… they have a great wig selection also, add ons for performers, dancers, cheerleaders. But my review is really for Janelle who always goes out of her way for me… I lost a lot of hair after a massive weight loss and she gave me gorgeous hair for the first time ever!!! I get compliments all the time!
