Loved the wine maker and her story, just not too crazy about the wines themselves.

Google«inspirational Walla Walla woman winemaker and owner», the name Karen La Bonte should definitely be at the top of the search results. Even though I was staying at the Marcus Whitman hotel during my Walla Walla wine trip, I almost passed by this narrow little tasting room right off the main lobby of the hotel. However, after hearing all the other tasting rooms suggest this place, I added it to my list of see before I leave, and I am so glad I did. Trio produces about 1,500 cases a year, and focuses on single varietal wines, they are also fully sustainable and organic. Everything we tasted was good, but my favorite was the 2011 Tempranillo. Even though I had promised myself to not buy anymore wine, I broke down and bought a bottle to take home. The Grenache and Sangiovese were tied for second. The wine here not only tastes great, but it is also more affordable when compared to other places in town. The best part of my experience though was talking with Karen about her story and wine making. My friend and I were so enthralled by our conversation, that we didn’t realize that we had been there for almost 2 hrs. I walked away with renewed energy, hope, and determination to continue to dream and see them through. Thank you Karen! The world could use more people like you in it. The passion and love she puts into her work can be tasted in every bottle of Trio wine.

Great little store front in Downtown Walla Walla. We absolutely loved the wines that Karen produces. The wine is extremely affordable for the quality of wine being produced. She has amazing reds that will please anyone’s palate.

I am new to Walla Walla and quickly became a wine member with the big name wineries, but this place is the ultimate diamond in the rough. Everything they offer is delicious and the price point is phenomenal. In addition they have the best choice of tasting treats of any vineyard I have ever been to. As a side note, the sweet lady with the country accent is the wine maker and will make you feel like a king, and Coco, the poodle, will be your best friend with a little back scratch. Anyone that comes to visit me I take here and they always leave with at least a few bottles. If you are looking for some wine that you could enjoy drinking everyday, this is your place.
