I came to Solar Nails about 1 year ago and I LOVE this place! The atmosphere is great and the staff is awesome. My nail tech Kelly is the BOMB!!! She provides excellent TOPQUALITY service when doing my manicure and pedicure… She pays extra attention to detail when creating BEAUTIFUL designs on my toes! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. If you are in need of a nail tech, call solar nails and book your appointment with Kelly!

They do great work but unfortunately EVERY time I have come it’s always a significant wait… or I’m sent away due to it being«at least a 2 hour wait». However I never see more than 3other clients in the facility. I will be finding a new home nail salon. Somewhere that can accommodate their clients with their staffing.

I have actually always had a great experience at this particular nail salon. I don’t come often though due to proximity reasons. I felt compelled to write this review today(7 Nov 2015) because I received a stellar and I mean STELLAR gel manicure. I arrived around 10:30am and all the technicians were busy. But I was greeted and asked what my service would be for my visit. I was shown the seating area and given the gel colors to look through while I waited. About 15 minutes later I was being called for my gel manicure service. Kaitlyn(sp) was my technician and she did an amazing job. I usually prefer men to service my nails, as I’ve noticed over the years that they are more meticulous in the actual painting process. I cannot tolerate a trained technician who can’t paint nails correctly… it’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine. However Kaitlyn was remarkable; she was fast, friendly, and so accommodating(I changed my mind a few times on the gel polish color!). She has easily garnered a customer for life. My nails(au natural) haven’t looked this professional since forever! The venue was clean and I was also offered a beverage of choice, which I declined. I really appreciate when businesses actually provide stellar service. Thanks immensely for a great job! See you again soon. :)))

Whoever didn’t vote this well are crazy. I am probably the most picky when it comes to where I get my nails done. I came to Solar Nails and Spa expecting the worst because Waldorf can be kind of dumpy when it comes down to it. The salon was very clean, not horribly busy, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Cut to my pedicure. I decided to get a manicure and pedicure, while my fiancé got the Athletes pedicure. I don’t remember what mine was called(ocean something), but it came with sugar scrub, clay, hot towels, and more, for about $ 40. Extremely reasonable, and beats out many other competitors in the area. They timed our services so we would be done at the same time. I’ve never been to a salon that has done this as accurately as Solar. A man named Jimmy did my nails and was very technical and skilled. He asked questions about how I wanted my nails to look, what sort of finish I wanted, and he made my cuticles look perfect. 100% will go back.

I have used this spa for two years. The services that I have had: pedicure, eyebrow and bikini wax. I have gone to another«spa» in the area also. What I like about the service is they can take walk-ins. The business is always neat and clean. I don’t feel like they are trying to «upsell» me. I get my services from a women named Cindy. She is attentive and knows what she is doing. Now, I mentioned the other spa because I used them for a bikini wax because had a busy day planned and they had earlier hours than Solar. The woman did not know what she was doing. The waxing was more painful than it needed to be and I ended up with several ingrown hairs.

The staff was great place looked nice and there wasnt a wait. The quality of my nails was horrible not even a week later gel was chipping and lifting. Its look like whole nail is gonna come off. The designs i got look horrible and cheap. I spent $ 54 for fill in and eyebrows way too expensive for the poor quality.

I love this place! I go here at least once a month. They are all very nice but the man does the best job.

Kind of disappointed. I stopped in one night, while in the area doing some Christmas shopping, to get my eyebrows done. The manager/main hostess did a good job, the salon was stylish, nice and clean so I promised to come back for my nails. My manicure started off wrong. The girl wasn’t rude, but she was far from personable. Hard sitting so close to someone’s face with an awkward vibe. My manicure was rushed. Thankfully, I have delicate hands that require minor maintenance. I’m used to having my hands massaged and moisturized prior to my polish, which is something the girl seemingly only did at the very end because I had asked for some lotion to apply myself when my nails were dry. Then, I paid $ 10 more than I normally would at my usual salon. My gel polish was chipping by the next day meaning that their polish is really watered down with acetone. They’re pricy for mediocrity. That’s why I gave such a meh review

I dont know why the bad reviews. I want to give more stars but the acrylic nails are not good here. My nails were lifting within the week. HOWEVER, the man who works there does a great job on the gel and regular manicures. My gel manicure lasted for over two weeks. AND, their pedicures are great. They provide a «menu» for the pedicure services that have great treatments like paraffin wax and hot towels. The older woman whos hair is normally in a ponytail is the only one I let do my feet. She gave me a great massage and filed and buffed my feet until they were baby soft. So far, this is the best non-true spa salon I’ve been to for pedicures. I would absolutely return.

I have never seen anything like this before. I will admit that I am picky, but to have to open my own nail polish while the nail tech sits there and watches is horrible??? Let’s start with me having to wait for 30 min after I was told when I came in for a pedicure that they would take me right then!!! then, my nail tech comes over and treats my feet during the pedicure like they didn’t pay her on time and she needed to take her frustrations out on them. I felt like I was in a tug of war with my feet!!! All in all, after I payed, I noticed a crack and I know that its sure to break by tomorrow??? Good luck to those of you who decide to visit this place… and if u do, please pass over the nail Tech Julie!!!

I went to this nail salon after searching for local salons who had really great ratings. I went on Christmas Eve, they were slow, so they were able to take me immediately. I requested a manicure and asked for Shellac. They do not use the Shellac brand by CND, but do offer Axxium by OPI. Initially she had me soak my nails in acetone to remove the old Shellac from my nails, then proceeded to perform my manicure. I will say that overall, the manicure seemed to be going fine. All the stations are equipped with the UV light that is used to cure the gel. Throughout the process of curing my nails, the amount of time that she allowed for my nails to stay in the light were inconsistent. This is the second salon in which I’ve had the experience of inconsistent curing times. I had a sinking feeling after that, as I had anticipated that I would leave and not be happy with the finished product. I was correct in my assumption. The color that I chose was«Dulce de leche». The technicians application of the gel was not a uniformed layer on my nails. Also, I realized after leaving, that she probably put too much near my cuticles. The gel has begun to separate from my nail bed because of the way it was applied. It has been less than 48 hours since my visit to this salon(unsatisfactory). I would also like to mention that the cost of the application was suppose to be 35, however after receiving my receipt, I immediately questioned the 40 dollar charge. The owner stated that the additional five was for removing my old Shellac. hmmmm…5 dollars to soak my nails in acetone, no thank you. Not telling your customer that you are going to charge them additional before doing so, no thank you. I will not be back and will continue to search for a salon that meets or exceeds my expectations.
