Davis Nails

I have been to this shop a couple of times and find the atmosphere to be tense and unwelcoming if you are a woman who is African American. Davis can be extremely rude and certainly caters to those who he perceives to be worthy. If it was not for the tech who is really good at her job I would not have gone the 3 times I did. I will continue the search for a nail shop in Waldorf.

I’ve been to all three of the Davis Salons in Charles County. The other two I would recommend, but not this location. (I normally go to the one off 925, but they are closed on Tuesdays) To give some context– I came in on Tuesday afternoon, the salon not busy at all! I wanted a basic pedicure. The man I had was very unfriendly! Never told me his name, never said anything other than trying to up sell the pedicure. My massage only lasted about 2 minutes! then when it came to where you sit and dry he never turned the black lights on for me. I had to look around and find the switch myself! The price was the same as other places, so note to self find somewhere that treats you better for the same deal.

This place is neat, clean and decorated nicely. It’s comforting receiving exceptional service in a place that is hygienic.

Like every place some people are better than others. But overall this place is great. I personally like Davis, Lisa, and Kim. My daughter and I go every 2 weeks and no complaints so far. They offer low end and high end priced pedicures. They can get very busy so if you don’t want to wait you may want to make an appointment.

I’m giving Davis Nails 4 stars because my first experience rated at about a 3, but after my second time deserving a 5, I think it deserves a 4. I think this place definitely depends on your technician. I had a very nice older woman who took her time and did a very nice job on my French manicure and toes. The last time I came I had a gentleman and my gel manicure was not done very well to the point where I could see some of my natural nail where polish should have been. After this second experience I will definitely be back. $ 40 for a mani/​pedi seems pretty decent for the Waldorf area and the music and environment was nice, too!

My experience at Davis always varies based on my technician. There are times when I have excellent service and leave refreshed and renewed, and times when I leave a little disgusted with painted nails (and that’s pretty much it). I track the technician I had through the tips I post here, at Unilocal.That way, I know my favorites (and least favorites).
The services I get — Mani/​Pedi.
Some technicians try to upsell, asking if you want this/​that (waxing, callous treatment, a more expensive pedi, manicure, etc.). That irritates me.
My favorite technicians are:
Linda, Lisa, Connie, Vi (not sure if she’s still there), and sometimes Jackie (when she’s in a good mood).

Connie did my nails today after I cheated and went elsewhere and got a terrible full set… I probably pass 5 or 6 nail shops to get to this one and I’m jus fine with that!

Really wish I’d have started going to this place a long time ago. I’ve gone to the mall and Escape, but Davis stacks up to the best with leas $$.
I like to wear sandals so I get pedicures. Plain and simple. I went to Davis and there was a line. That’s a great sign. Waited in a comfortable waiting area with cable TV until I was called. Easily the best massage seats in Waldorf. Service was great and my feet felt great without a huge hit to my wallet. I’ll def go back.

I got my eyebrow waxed at this salon. The technician was horrible and burnt my eye lids and it took me a few days for the swelling to go down. I have not gone back since my first and last time there (when it first opened)

I love this nail salon. They are the best place to go in Charles County by far. I usually go to the one in La Plata and I make my appointments with Tracey or Hannah. If I go to the one in Waldorf I make my appointment with Davis. These three tech’s are the best and your nails will last without chipping or cracking for 2 – 3 weeks. I have been using Tracey and Davis for 6 years and Hannah for about a year. Any other place I have went to my nails just didn’t last long at all and I would have to go to Davis Nails to get them fixed.
I consistenly go to Davis Nails every 2 – 3 weeks for my gel set and pedicure. The facility is clean and the people are always friendly. I would recommend making an appointment, because sometimes they get busy. Also if you want Davis (Waldorf), Tracey (La Plata), or Hannah (La Plata) you probably will not be able to get them by just walking in, because they are usually booked since they are the best.
You will not be dissapointed going to Davis Nails. Again ask for Davis, Tracey or Hannah. They are the only ones I let touch my nails period.

Stepped in at 6:10 pm on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. I asked for a mani & pedi. I was told to pick a color. Minutes later I was sat in the massage chair w/​warm H20 to receive a pedi. I walked out at 6:55pm b/​c no one provided me service. No one even stopped me as I exited. I went based on a referral of an associate who had her nails done there just the day before. I do hope they read this. I will not be back based on the LACK of customer service. I will definitely spread the word to other associates not to patronize this business.

I don’t have time for a full review but here’s the lowdown:
I got a lavender pedicure. It’s a very nice place, great massage chairs. Ask for Kenny– he is AMAZING! I am very, very particular about my nails and usually do them myself but he was recommended to me by someone whose nails are always perfect, and he was great. He does such a wonderful job and the massage was awesome!
I will be returning!
They do– manicures, pedicures, («spa» versions available) waxing, gel lacquer polish, and all the tips and fake nails too.
