Yes. If you’ve been to Red’s Eats in Maine, then the Connecticut roll will bring you back. My husband and I moved down from Boston over the summer and are so happy to have access to fresh New England Lobster! I would even say the Connecticut roll that I had is better than several I’ve had even in Boston. Will be back many times please give us deals! :P

I am lucky enough to work at a place where a different food truck is available almost every day(yes…you can be jealous). My waistline and wallet hate me but my stomach is living the dream. Speaking of dreams, this food truck is one come true. Other reviewers have written much longer reviews but mine is a greatest hits for those needing a quick glance before pulling the foodie trigger. The Good –Lobster, Lobster, and, oh yeah, lobster. If you like lobster, stop reading and go get some from this truck. I got the Connecticut Roll and it disappeared in about 90 seconds. No, my fellow food snobs, this is not what you will get next to the ocean in Maine. This is some of the best damn lobster you will get in the middle of North Carolina. I contemplated getting a second roll but there were onlookers viewing my lobster-gnawing shame. –Whoopie Pie. For being a much cooler state than NC, Maine has their dairy products figured out. Must buy. –The people. They generally seemed excited about the product they were putting out and happy that I was buying from them. I wish all food trucks were that friendly but sometimes lines(of the kitchen and customer variety) make the grumpy pants come out. The Bad –As others have noted, it is a bit painful to pay $ 25 for a small roll, chips, soda, and a Whoopie Pie. Unlike others, I felt the quality of the food made my taste buds sing enough to put it in the«shoulder-shrug-that’s-fair» category. If it was $ 10 cheaper, I would hunt these people down at their homes and demand they deliver lobster to my gullet. As is, it’s a special treat when you’re feeling fancy and want to make your PB&J-eating coworkers hate you. –Lines. I have seen them in multiple locations around Raleigh and they definitely aren’t hurting for business. I was lucky and got them on a freezing day at the end of the lunch crowd. Again, the giant, butter/lemon-smeared smile on my face seemed to agree that the line was worth it. Final Verdict A most tasty meal that you should try at least once. Also, did I mention it’s lobster… from a food truck… and it’s good?!

First time tasting the much talked about Cousins Lobster Food Truck and have to admit it’s worth the hype! Very flavorful! Great variety of menu options! And the folks are nice to top it off! I had the lobster tacos with a side of tots. Next time I’ll go for something more traditional like their lobster bisque and lobster rolls! So much to try! Definitely worth tracking their moves!

My overall experience was disappointing. The wait was nearly half an hour for a meal that lasted 2 minutes. I ordered the Connecticut Lobster Roll, and the roll was a 5″ hot dog bun. Yes, a hot dog bun. Man did I feel ripped off. The amount of lobster on the bun made me feel like it was just an appetizer… a pricey one. I was hoping it was going to be overflowing with lobster, but it was just stuffed to just crest over the bun. I have no plans on going back. The food wasn’t exceptional and the wait didn’t make it worth it.

This idea is great. Lobster tacos were bleh, mostly tasteless. Lobster roll was good and definitely filled with lots of meat, but not amazing enough to go back for. Tater tots and the whoopie pie were the best parts.

Yaay, I finally caught the Cousins Maine Lobster Truck! I ordered the Lobster Tacos and they were wonderful. I found them to be a little heavy on the Pico de Gallo, but I still enjoyed the awesome Lobster inside. I brought home a Lobster Roll for my son and he LOVED it, so meaty and flavorful. $ 15… But worth it, for when you just gotta have Lobster! The staff was Awesome too. I had forgot to mention I also ordered the Lobster Bisque… Only get this if you are in the mood for Creamy, Warm, Comforting, Lobster HEAVEN! There is no skimping on the Lobster either. OMG yes. I’ll be happy to see them come down to Garner soon!

Second time for me enjoying food from back home in the northeast. Fresh lobster roll(Ct style only way to go). Down here I see pizza joints that claim«ny style» and they are not even NJ style. These boys deliver Maine lobsters and prepare it fresh. Only problem I have is leaving wanting more. I would eat one everyday. May want to think about offering a larger option as well. No problem paying for it. Back home in CT one roadside shack offered«the whaler» it was a huge hot lobster roll on a larger bun. It was $ 25 a roll and worth every penny. Keep it going Cousins, I will be looking for you again soon. Note to everyone else down here… You won’t find a better lobster roll.

Get the Connecticut roll. Everything is so fresh and tender. If there was a hot sign(krispy kreme) I would chase this truck down the street. My mouth feels happy and so elated the owner saw me and gave me a free woopie pie. «This is day 1 of my addiction»

Finally!!! I had a chance to taste the great lobster sandwich I’ve heard so much about. I believe I tried the«Connecticut»(I had the warm one with the butter) it was great. The toasted butter favor bread added to the exquisite taste.

I have heard so much hype about this truck that I was excited to finally check them out at the Wake Forest Food Truck Rodeo this past Sunday. The truck alone is one of the most modern trucks I have ever seen. The sleek black truck catches your eye then you see all of their media mentions such as CNN, Shark Tank, Food Network, Today, etc. Everything has a «catchy» theme with fish nets and lobster claws. They even have a tv that lists the menu items. Luckily our wit was not long since the Wake Forest Rodeo was a smaller event. We had one Maine Lobster roll with mayo and lemon. The lobster was extremely fresh and meaty and was served on a smaller version of Texas Toast. The roll was $ 15 and only took a few bites to finish. The service was great and I then looked on their website to see their future events. The are at many local breweries in the evenings and also do daytime events. I would check them out and the price is a bit steep but worth every bite.

Oh my goodness, this place is AMAZING! Is 14 bucks for a lobster roll expensive? Um, yes. But they are very generous on the giant chunks of lobster. I got the Connecticut roll and it’s great! The bread was not soggy, the lobster was nice and warm and so flavorful with the butter and lemon. The lobster bisque was also to die for, huge chunks of lobster in a very flavorful bisque! This place has been on so many shows, I remembered it from Shark Tank. There’s a reason that they’re featured a lot, and it’s because they serve some of the best lobster I’ve had. That’s right, it’s possible to get the best lobster from a food truck.

Two words to sum up my experience with cousins maine lobster: severely disappointed. Every time we go to the food truck rodeo, the line for this truck is outrageous. So when i checked their website and saw they were heading to a wine shop near my house one weekday, I ran out the door and was happy to see there was finally a short line! I ordered one connecticut roll, one maine style roll, a cup of lobster bisque, and tots. My total came out to be $ 53, i kid you not. How did I manage to spend fifty bucks at a FOODTRUCK?! so yes, this is a very expensive truck. be warned. Anyways, i sucked it up and paid because hey, i just HAD to try the famous lobster food truck! So we brought it home to eat and upon eating the roll, I realized they didn’t even give me lemon wedge to go with my roll, when my boyfriend got one with his. These are small yes, but I had accepted that fact based on reading the Unilocal reviews prior. But what i didn’t prepare myself for was the lack of flavor in the connecticut style roll! I had a lobster roll in maryland and there is such a huge difference. My boyfriend also was underwhelmed. Lobster bisque was okay. Tator tots are tator tots(they came plain) so neither complaints nor raves there either. I just feel like if i’m going to spend that much money on a truck, at least be super tasty.

You get what you pay for and that is true with CML. It’s true you get a «hot dog» size sandwich for $ 14 but its chalk full of lobster meat on a perfectly toasted roll. I had a chance to try the Maine, which is served chilled with a touch a mayo. I liked the fact they didn’t mix the mayo with the meat and in my humble opinion it was the perfect amount to highlight the lobster. I also tried the Connecticut, which is served warm with butter and lemon. Both were scrumptious but if I had to choose I would go with the Maine as my favorite while my husband proclaimed the Connecticut the winner with its buttery deliciousness. I have heard the lines here are always long(we waited about 30 minutes) but I think they are worth the wait to at least try them once.

So, I agree with Lauren H. The lobster was great. High quality and yummy but very small portions. My husband and I spent close to $ 30 for a Maine lobster roll and lobster tacos. My lobster roll was the size of a hot dog bun. Very tasty but, not very filling. We were both still hungry. I’m not too familiar with market lobster prices. Perhaps I should expect this. Seriously great food but very small portions. Also, I recommend the Maine lobster roll over the tacos. We both liked the roll better than the tacos.

I finally got to try Cousins Maine Lobster and I am going to have to go with the verdict slightly disappointed. I was really excited when I saw they were coming to my work place and even though it was(and is) terribly hot outside, I decided to endure the long lines and endless wait in the heat to give them a try. First off, don’t be in any big hurry if you want to try their rolls. They will typically draw really long lines and are slow to deliver the goods(Waited so long I thought maybe they ran out of lobster so had to have more shipped in from Maine). I went with the Connecticut roll and it was good, but I wasn’t blown away by how good it was or anything. It was just… good. As others mention their lobster rolls are small and they are pricey($ 14). I don’t eat lobster very often(because of the price, and well NC isn’t exactly lobster country) However, I am always up for trying something new and different so there is the nothing ventured nothing gained aspect. If I saw the Cousin’s Maine Lobster truck again with no line(good luck), I may try them again, but would most likely gravitate towards speedier, less pricey trucks given an option.

Its a real good and well stuffed lobster roll, I got the Connecticut style which is heated with lemon and butter and it was awesome. I never thought the best lobster roll I would have in Raleigh would be off a food truck but anytime they are stopping close to Cary im going to be there. Next time Ill have to try the tots or the tacos. Thanks again for coming to Fortnite, it really looks like you guys killed it there.

Mission accomplished! Finally got a chance to bite into a juicy Maine lobster roll last week from Cousins. I hit them up at just the right time. They were hanging at Pickin’ in the Plaza last Thurs. and I got there early enough where there was no wait. The menu consists of you lobster rolls, tacos, quesadilla and even some loaded lobster tots. It’s very hard to find a real lobster roll here in the Triangle and when I heard that Cousins Maine Lobster was coming I was beyond excited. They have two versions of a lobster roll a Connecticut version with butter or the Maine lobster roll with mayo that most are familiar with. I ordered the Maine version, my BF ordered the tacos, and my friend in town also ordered the Maine roll, add a side of tots and we were all set. As others have mentioned no this is not cheap but given the amount of lobster you get and the freshness it’s worth it. Yes the rolls are small but you do get a lot of lobster and the tax is included in the price. Don’t plan on going if you aren’t ready to drop $ 25-$ 30 for two people. We just had the plan tots so I can’t speak about the loaded ones but it’s on my list when I revisit. Overall I’m loving this new food truck and it’s definitely worth a try if you are a lobster fanatic like myself.

I had been eagerly anticipating trying Cousins Maine Lobster. Every time I had seen the truck, there had been an extremely long line! I heard they were coming to my neighborhood, so my husband and I walked over to get dinner. We were very lucky to catch them when the line was short. Their menu includes two different types of lobster rolls, a lobster quesadilla, lobster tacos, lobster tater tots, shrimp tacos and more. My husband decided on the Maine lobster roll, which was served with mayo. You can get the other version for the same price which includes warm butter instead of the mayo. I ordered the lobster tacos(3). The total price was just over $ 28(they add tax to the prices listed on the truck). Okay, I will say, the food was good. But for the price I think I expected more, especially with the lobster roll — it was tiny! As someone else had noted, it was smaller than even a hot dog bun. I know lobster is expensive, but still! The tacos were more substantial, but had a lot less lobster meat. The flavor was there, but my husband and I were both definitely still hungry after we had finished our meals. I guess all-in-all, this place was A-OK with me. The food was good, but the prices for the portions were a little high to make this a food truck I’d seek out regularly.

Lobster rolls are a regional treat that New Englander’s grew up with. They’re so popular that even McDonald’s would do a summer lobster roll special. But down here in the NC Triangle they are rare. Lobster rolls are on the menus for Driftwood Southern Kitchen and Nantucket Grill but that’s about it. So when I heard about Cousins of Maine food truck that specializes in lobster, I was a bit excited… This local food truck is based out of Wake Forest and has had a sporadic schedule. Check out their website and/or download their app for the most current news. My visit tonight to Cousins of Maine Lobster was at Nickelpoint and there was a 90 minute wait for food. Thankfully it was mostly worth it. By the time we reached the front they were out of a 1⁄3 of the items. The menu is Maine lobster rolls, CT lobster rolls, lobster quesadilla, lobster tots, lobster ice cream bisque and more. Items are from $ 4 — $ 14 for the most part. My two lobster rolls were decent but it was the end of the day so I think they were not really made right. The Maine lobster roll showed no hints of mayo and the CT roll didn’t seem to have any butter. But the rolls were toasted right and the lobster meat was fresh so kudos there. Overall I’d give Cousins of Maine Lobster 3 stars based upon my experience but it’s a 4 here in Raleigh. It’s probably the best lobster roll you can find but I’m hoping the lines die down and the quality goes up over time. But nice job, Cousins of Maine. You were a great lobster fix for a Boston guy who had gone far too long since my last lobby roll…
