Struggling! The only word to describe the staff. Restaurant dirty, orders mixed up, food and pans hitting floor! Should have just driven further to five guys!

This place is not only overpriced for what you get, it’s also dirty. We had to go to 4 tables to find one that wasn’t sticky. Luckily the staff made up for it by being disinterested and condacending.

I was a little suspect after reading the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Ordered the cheese burger combo. The burger was tasty and the fries good We had our food within 5 minutes of ordering. Would go back next time I’m in the area.

I had the Chipotle burger and it was great. Not sure why others had slow service as mine came in about 5 minutes. I gave it 4 stars because the selection was unique and the burger was tasty. Options for milkshakes and sides were also broad which is rare. Nice option if your sick of the typical burger and fries from standard fast food joints. This one stacks up better than most fast food places. I would definitely recommend it.

Good burger but could be much better for the price of the entire meal. Bring a sweater if u plan on eating inside in the summer, was rather cold inside. Mac n cheese bites are good. Haven’t tried the shakes, hot dogs, etc. Wont go out of my way to go back.

Decided to give them another shot. Big mistake. It took 20 minutes for our 3 hamburgers. Two came out wrong. The fries we cool and greasey. They were out of Pepsi and the drink machine was literally overflowing with water right on to the floor. The burgers were on par mouth McDonalds but much more expensive and longer wait.

Honestly nothing special. The prices are like 5 guys but the food tastes like fresh Steak and Shake. Not worth your money. Restaurant was in need of. some detail cleaning, windows, tables, rugs etc.

I have tried Jake’s Wayback Burgers twice now and both times had the same result — over priced and nothing special. When spending almost $ 40 on a burger, cheese fries and two shakes for two people you would expect everything to taste superior to fast food for that price or else you could just get any fast food and call it a day(and save your wallet) There was a wait to order both times, which isn’t minded for good food but the wait is lengthy. The burgers did taste juicy and better than fast food burgers, but not so much that it is worth the price or comparable to a nice restaurant. The cheese fries were horrible. Think dry fries with shredded bagged cheese on them resulting in a crunchy, plastic taste. The shakes were good, but Steak and Shake or Dairy Queen is better. I decided to give it a try twice in case the first time was just a fluke, but nope, both times resulted in me saying I paid that much money for that?!

Food was super bland and that’s a compliment. It did come out hot though so that was a plus. The milkshake tasted like grocery store vanilla ice cream and off brand chocolate syrup. Double cheeseburger and fry and a kids chicken tender meal with Frys should not be 18.00 Save your money and go to Five Guys or Swensons

I got a veggie burger so my review might be off but I felt it was a decent place. I’m going to come back and try their 9 patty burger for sure. My co worker ordered a single patty cheese burger and the patty was on the thin side. He said it was pretty good though so I’ll have to give this place another shot without getting a veggie burger. I don’t not ally eat veggie burgers so I can’t really give a vegan perspective.

One of the East Coast’s famous upscale burger chains has expanded to the Akron area. While it didn’t disappoint, it has work to do to compete with the big boys in Akron. Jake’s Wayback Burgers is a chain that specializes in burgers and shakes — sound familiar? They have monthly deals, and I jumped on the chance to try a chorizo burger. It was exactly what I expected: a high quality burger that tasted like sausage. It’s cooked right in front of you, which is nice. While the burgers were thin and juicy, I felt like the combination of toppings did nothing to enhance the flavor of the burger a la Swensons’s Galley Boy. Maybe some more market testing could improve this joint in that department. I did not get to try their shakes, sadly. Although they were out of the Flavor of the Month, they looked delicious. I’d recommend this place if I am in town and needing a good burger.

I will wait for good food, but I was waiting forever because it was a group of teenagers with no apparent manager. One kept flipping the burgers too often so they took forever to cook, one couldn’t keep his pants up, and one kept messing up when taping the bags of food shut. I finally sent my husband out to the car with our daughter while I waited. Then when we actually ate the food, it wasn’t good at all. Bland and boring with a slight taste of hot dog water to it. We were very disappointed.

Jakes was between a 3 and 4 star for us. I’m guarding my 4 and 5 star ratings somewhat jealously these days, so three stars is it! We visited on a Friday evening and while we did have to wait for the order to be cooked, I will happily do that when offered a choice between waiting for fresh food and getting some dried out heatlamp hockey puck immediately. The fries while fresh cut, were a bit overdone but the burgers were great. One nice feature was that any accoutrements desired for the burgers were free except for mushrooms and something else which escapes my recollection. Included in the free category were such bonus items as grilled onions, peppers and jalepenos! Hot damn, I’m in heaven! Jalapeño me baby! …Whoops…guess I should check the gender of the cashier before such utterances escape me! Wife was sold when she noted the availability of a strawberry-banana milkshake… definitely not the product of a shake-in-a-bag with real fruit suspended in fetching animation in her cup! Burgers only here, so don’t come thinking you can get a chicken sandwich or whatever. The marquis says something about being founded in 1991, but the plaza isn’t over three years old, so ???

I had really high expectations for Jake’s Wayback Burgers, but was really disappointed. I assume they’re going for some sort of cross between Swensons and Five Guys, but this place couldn’t hold either restaurant’s spatula. The burgers were too thin/greasy, the buns were chewy, & the service was slow. Now, I probably should have prefaced my review by saying this place was basically brand new when I ate there… which means there’s a chance things have gotten better. I’ll probably give this place one more chance to redeem itself, but I’m not expecting much out of round 2…
