The food is great! Probably why this location is always so busy. We went on a Friday and there was one spot open in the parking lot but we were still seated within 20 minutes. Although it was a madhouse I was blown away by the friendly staff. My daughter(she’s 4 years old) told our waiter to give her compliments to the chef. Our waiter actually took the time to find the chef and tell him this. All of a sudden Jacob, our chef, came to our table and said thanks to my daughter. It made her week! Just before leaving the restaurant Jacob came back and brought my daughter a very nice gift. Again… it was busy but that didn’t stop our waiter and chef from appreciating a compliment from a very friendly 4 year old. If you’ve never had Chuy’s you should really try it. The Queso is the best!

The food was absolutely amazing! Everything was made fresh. Nothing out of the can. Original sauce, even the kids chicken nuggets were hand made. Not frozen nuggets. Great staff. Love the kick back atmosphere. It’s a 40 min drive from my house, but I will be back. Often. I’d give it 10 out of 10!

The Texas martinis are great. Also, the veggie burritos and fajitas are great. Can’t ask for a much better happy hour with chips, beans, salsa and queso free.

Flautas were good but they use corn tortillas so it made the meal seem plain… experience is always great. Staff has a great attitude and the many sauces and kick ass tshirts they sell make this a great overall experience. This location is a bit of a pain to get to as it is on the freeway entrance near an interstate junction. Other that that, love me some chuy’s!

The food is good, but the service not so good. I went to the bar to order take out. They said 15 or 20 minutes, it’s been 45. They did, without prompting, comp my meal.

Staff was friendly. Called in a takeout order. They met us at the curb of the takeout parking and went in to get our food. The lady who brought it out was very nice and polite. The only bad thing was the order was wrong. I was looking forward to my fajita burrito. This was our first meal that we had not cooked at home since our daughter was born. It’s just one of those little things. I could understand if she had heard it wrong but as you can see in the pic, that was not the case. I would recommend thoroughly checking your order before leaving.

Chuy’s is rapidly becoming the Chili’s of Austin style Tex-Mex. It’s safe and predictable. Having said that, their chili gravy is as good as anyplace else and it’s hot. If Chuy’s had one consistent problem, it’s their fascination with over garnishing the plate. The food is plenty good and the garnish overpowers the food and almost implies that the food needs distraction. It doesn’t.

Decided to grab dinner here as it was close to my hotel. Service was good. We were seated quickly and served chips and salsa which were okay. We tried the jalapeño cream and boom boom sauces which were also okay. I had the veggie enchilada while my friend had their daily special which was the fried stuffed avocado. Both came with a side of rice and beans. Overall experience was okay.

Starting with the free chips, these were already subpar. So many of them were so oily that they were literally bendy and not edible. The dipping sauces were different in a good way, but were just hard to enjoy with the lack of good chips. The food was dry and lacking creativity. I ordered the Southwestern enchiladas and it was just two blue corn tortillas stacked onto of each other with a bit of chicken in between them. The over easy egg on top did very little to help with the dryness. Not the most enjoyable meal but the atmosphere is great: similar to a mix of Buca’s and Rosa’s combined(family style and colorful).

You can’t go wrong with Chuy’s. I love getting the enchiladas or the burritos. Also, ask for jalapeño ranch to go with your chips — so good!

It was a little crowded but our wait was shorter than expected which was great. Good food — we have eaten at other Chuy’s so knew the menu. Food came out quickly, good waitress, no problems, nice and clean restaurant.

Chuy’s has been a favorite of mine for many years and when we were in Waco we saw this one close to where we were staying. Getting a little hungry we decided to pay a visit to this place on a busy Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised when we got seated right away! Our waitress was very pleasant and service was really good! Wish I had gotten her name and although not the best Tex Mex it hit the spot for a late night meal and the energy in the restaurant was infectious! What made it a good experience for me was the service. Our waitress was very nice and provided refills to us in a timely manner and made sure that our food came out promptly! It is located so close to the Holiday Inn Express in Hewitt, Texas which is in the Waco area. Convenient if you’re looking for a nice and lively place to eat with a lot of atmosphere!

Great Tex Mex, fresh made guacamole and pico. I travel to the Austin area frequently and know that any Chuys is great! The jalapeño garlic dip is a must, order it with your chips, then dip your food in it too. Mmmm, so good!

This is a review for Chuy’s fans form elsewhere passing through. The food is the same as you are used to: every bit as irresistible as at any other Chuy’s. Which would be 4 stars for me. The trouble is the service is kind of clueless. I asked for a beer and my companions asked for Dr Peppers. They got their sodas and I got a glass of water. Later somebody wandered by with a beer bottle with alime stuck in it — no offer of a glass. One of us ordered a salad; they didn’t ask what sort of dressing. The salad came dry. They forgot to bring utensils. When I flagged someone down they eventually came back with utensils but no napkins. Then we had to ask for napkins. After we got the check, they never came back to take our payment. We had to track them down via the reception desk. The staff were all nice kids who aimed to please but it seemed like they had never been trained. So, be prepared to ask for things that ought to be obvious, and be prepared for things to take longer than you expect.

I stopped here while traveling with my 18-month-old son and they were very busy. I waited about 15 minutes and had a wonderful experience afterwards. The waitress was incredibly caring and attentive and very personable. Her name is Desiree. The food was wonderful and had wonderful flavor. Everything was prompt and efficient and people went out of the way to make sure we were satisfied. Be sure to stop here if you’re ever in Waco

Went on a Friday evening and there was a 30 minute wait. Of course that is to be expected in waco on a friday evening and everyone is out on the town trying to enjoy their night. The food is great and has enough variety for my preferences. The green sauce is the best. i really enjoy going there simply for that reason. I wish i could take that sauce with me to other mexican restaurants. :) Every time I’ve been its always been busy but the service has been good. The only thing that kind of bugs me is that whenever you want more chips the server comes back with the chips scoop full of chips and pours it into your basket. I would much rather they take my basket and bring me a new one. Food is always good but there isn’t anything that blows my mind which is why i gave it 3 stars. Its mexican food, maybe not completely authentic, but thats not why i go there and the atmosphere is festive and its safe(i always know i can find something good to eat there as well as my company) the price is moderate for similar restaurants. I like to think of chuy’s as a place to bring visitors and out of town folks where you know for the most part everyone is going to find something they could eat.

I was so excited to see that they had a Chuy’s in Waco. Chuy’s I think has the best Tex Mex around. The building has the same cool vibe, with the hubcaps on the ceiling, the pictures and the colors. But the similarities kind of stop there. The food here is ok, my fajitas were overdone and the rice and beans were way over salted. The tortillas and chips and salsa were good though. My waitress Jane was super friendly, but to not any fault of her own was stretched way to thin. She did have a great attitude about it.

Ate at Chuy’s in Waco today for lunch. Place was packed, as usual. Proceeded without waiting to the bar area which is 1st come 1st served during the lunch hour. Found a small table and my server almost immediately saw me and asked what she could get me to drink and/or if I was ready to order my food as well. I said yes and ordered the combo tacos al carbon with a iced tea. Asked her to also bring a small queso, some of the creamy ranch dip and the hatch green chili sauce. The chips and salsa(almost like a pico de gallo) was brought to the table about that time by someone else. Only ate a couple chips and salsa when my other dips arrived and I enjoyed all. Within perhaps 8 minutes(?) my entrée was brought to the table, just as I had asked. Wow — I do love Chuy’s. One of the few«chain» restaurants that always seem to deliver consistent(GREAT) food and service no matter which one you go to. Both tacos al carbon were fantastic, I think that I like the grilled chicken just a tad better. At my other place to get al carbon tacos — Uncle Julio’s — I like the steak better. Anyway, both were good and served with lightly grilled onions and peppers tucked inside with the meat. Guacamole(fresh/tasty), rice, beans, and grated cheese served on the side. Shortly upon finishing, my server suggested dessert. Which I would dearly love … but with all the dips for appetizers and a large lunch entrée — I was done! She brought the ticket quickly and shortly thereafter I was gone. On the way out, the server and the hostess both wished me a good day and thanked me for coming. One small pesky item … I had to park towards the back of the lot, due to the amount of business when I arrived. On the way in and the way out(about an 40 – 50 minutes later) the dumpster gates were open and I could clearly see and smell a bag of trash from the restaurant sitting next to the dumpster. Restaurants spend a enormous amount of monies on the atmosphere and landscaping … closing the dumpster gates and ensuring the dumpster pad is presentable might be a consideration as well. Especially when your business volume sometimes dictates that your customers will be parking in the immediate area. Overall a great job Chuy’s. I often stop for lunch when I am in the area and will again.

Same as all the other Chuys… Love the creamy jalapeño, their queso is great. Chuy’s is great Tex-Mex, although a little different than your usual Tex-Mex place, they have their own spin on things. Try the boom-boom sauce on a burrito or enchiladas… Love the chili rellenos, cheese enchiladas, and my all time fave is the big as yo’ face bean burrito with deluxe tomatillo, sub green chile rice.(get a to-go container and split that big boy in half right away!) Yummy! Unfortunately I don’t care for their margaritas at all, they’re to sweet or something… I like Dos Equis or the New Mexican Martini(has chile pepper in it, which cuts out the sweet).
