Just an average place that you have to work at to eat. Certain plates mean certain things at the buffet and it’s your responsibility to remember your ticket number for other family members to eat. Food was average and the whole atmosphere is not memorable.

This is my last time here. I’ve good things to say in the past, but I just paid $ 13.50 for 4 ½ chicken tenders w/crappy service and empty drinks. :/

My ham and cheese omelet was good but not as good as some others I’ve had. On the side I had toast and hashbrowns. Dad had the breakfast buffet, and it was«ok». I want to come back another time and try lunch or dinner sometime soon! The western theme was good. I really liked some of the pictures.

Tried the thanksgiving lunch and it was great. They had it as a buffet, food was fresh and hot. It was all you could eat but one plate was all you needed. They had turkey, ham, chicken fried steak as meats and everything else you would find on a thanksgiving meal. This was the second time I have tried this place and I would definitely recommend this place. Now the bad part of the meal, the waitress must have been new she had no clue what she was doing. she kept our tea full but didn’t know how to talk to people or take orders. A little more training and she will be a good server.

I have had breakfast here twice this week. Great place for breakfast. Atmosphere is truly Texas. Service is great. Coffee cup stays full and hot. Sausage patty is the real thing. Not frozen but fresh made. Reasonable prices for a very good breakfast. I will return.

We have eaten here twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner, both times the food was fantastic! I had the chocolate chip pancakes and my boyfriend had pancakes with eggs and meats, both were delicious!!! The portions are huge and really yummy! For dinner we had the family style dinner and that was awesome too but again tons of food! We will definitely be back.

This place has some problems. There is no bus boy, so the wait staff has to clean the tables, which means it could take a while for the tables to get cleaned. This cleaning problem causes long wait times for the customers to be seated. At one point a waitress told management that she has had enough and walked out. Clearly, management needs to get a clue on how a restaurant should operate. Oh, and the food was bland at best. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Waitstaff awful. No smile, inattentive service. Hamburger & meatloaf ok. Whipped potatoes instead of mashed. Worst coffee, cream didn’t even help. Old, Dark & dirty inside. Wanted to try local but wasted $.

Absolutely great food! The husband and I went for breakfast and he had the pancake and eggs w/sausage meal and he added bacon, and biscuits. I had the French toast minus the pecans and bacon. Absolutely delicious all around the bacon was thick and crispy the saugause was the size of a candle from bath and body works(my ladies will know what I’m talking about), the pancakes were very buttery and fluffy. The French toast was just the right amount of sweetness not to over powering and very good. We will definitely go back to try the lunch and dinner. Also we were blessed with a lovely couple across from us paid for our meal what a great surprise we love this place so far.

First off, to the lady who reviewed this place complaining about not being able to take home your sides… this is how these type restaurants are run. Babe’s in DFW is the exact same way. You can take home your meat but not the ‘endless’ sides since people will ask for a new bowl of them, then take it to-go. It’s no different than eating your fill at somewhere like Golden Corral or an Asian buffet and then asking for a to-go box… not gonna happen. You eat your fill while you’re in the restaurant and then you move on with your life. If you’re that butthurt about a $ 12.99 price tag for a buffet, go somewhere else to eat. Obviously family-style dining isn’t for you! My boyfriend is obsessed with down-home southern cooking so for Mothers Day, we drove in from Dallas and took my grandma out to lunch at Bronc’s. We hadn’t been there before but I’d heard good things about their chicken so we decided to give it a go. 2PM on a Saturday. About 10 tables were full, the rest of the place was empty and we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Atmosphere is like a rustic steakhouse and a Cracker Barrel combined, very warm and friendly but kind of kitschy and cheesy… love it. Our waitress was very friendly. They have two menus, one is the ‘family style’ stuff(you pick a meat entrée and then they bring you unlimited side dishes) and one is more casual fare like sandwiches, salads, etc. A lady next to us ordered a salad and it was seriously the size of a small pony. I have no idea how you could eat all that but kudos to her for giving it a try! We all got the chicken fried steak, which came out quickly and was fried and battered to perfection. Crispy golden goodness, tender meat, flavorful gravy. Our sides were green beans, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, corn and honey-buttered biscuits, plus a salad. Cons: The salad was really boring. Iceberg lettuce with vinaigrette, and a lot of water in the bottom of the bowl like the salad wasn’t drained properly maybe? I wasn’t expecting a gourmet salad, but some shredded carrots or cucumber or SOMETHING would be nice other than just naked lettuce. Maybe some cherry tomatoes? I dunno. It was just underwhelming to eat plain lettuce. The green beans are Southern-style and sweet, maybe some honey or something in them or a LOT of sugar while they cook, not sure. The corn did taste canned, not a lot of seasoning, and mashed potatoes were thick, not too creamy. They need to be whipped with something, maybe sour cream or some kind of other fat to loosen them up a little, they were stiff. Pros: The meat was delicious and the batter on it was very crisp and flavorful. Gravy was hot and thick. Biscuits were flaky, light, delicious, warm. The owners came by our table twice to make sure things were alright and we were taken care of. Service was wonderful, waitress was very sweet and helpful. Price was great– $ 12.99 for a HUGE portion of meat, all-you-can-eat sides… you can’t get that anywhere else unless you’re just going to a massive buffet place. They had several other dishes I’m itching to try, including a meatloaf that sounded divine, and their dessert menu sounded appealing too. But I was too stuffed to even think about dessert and they practically had to roll me out of there! Four people(chicken fried steaks, sides, four drinks, + tax and tip) came to less than $ 70 and we all left absolutely stuffed to the gills and had an entire chicken fried steak to take home with us for leftovers. In my opinion, WELL worth the money. Any complaints were minor(except, holy CRAP is it cold in there!!! They keep the AC cranked and we all wished we had hoodies or something during the whole meal!) and we loved the place. We’ll be back when we come back down to Waco for visiting family. I just hope it sticks around, this strip mall seems to be cursed for restaurants…

I will start by saying that I have no relation or friendship with anyone at this restaurant. I discovered this restaurant on Unilocal and was drawn in by the breakfast pics and reviews. The corral theme was fun and the restaurant was clean. We received great service. You get a good amount of food for the price and it was as tasty as it looks and well presented. Our eggs were not as warm as we preferred but were not bad. Everything tasted good, especially the homemade biscuits and gravy! It fulfills our desire for an old-fashioned diner style breakfast(just without the diner setting). We would definitely go back for breakfast.

Just had an AWESOME lunch here!!! Be sure and come here hungry and ready to put the feedbag on as the portions are huge and all the veggies are served family style; i.e. you get a bowl of every vegetable they offer plus the veggie of the day!!! I had a great chicken fried steak, hubby had the full portion of fried chicken and we had enough meat to take home for another meal … or two! Everything was served hot and delicious. And despite what another reviewer said, I’m a country girl who knows fresh home-cooked veggies when she sees and tastes them. The fresh corn-off-the-cob was decadently delicious as was the mashed potatoes, green beans, and blackeyed peas. Our waitress was friendly and efficient and gave us great service. Five Star all the way.

We have eaten dinner and breakfast here at Bronc’s. We just finished family breakfast. There was so much food we brought some home. There was eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, and country ham. Also 2 pancakes, 2 biscuits, and gravy. There is no way to walk away hungry. The atmosphere is fantastic. The wait staff are always friendly. Jeff and Mike, the owners, are doing a great job! We will be back with friends!

Have you been to Babe’s in DFW? This is the next best thing if you really like a down home, country style setting. Let me get to the review. Service: We went on a Sunday after church. It took 30 minutes to get a table for 6, which is about right. They were pretty crowded. There were empty tables, so it was obvious they didn’t have enough waitresses. When we finally sat, it took a while to get our drink orders and then another ten minutes to get our food order. We could tell our poor waitress was swamped. When we finally ordered our food it came out in 5 minutes, so no complaints there. Overall, I’d give the service 3 stars. Food: Overall, I’d give the food 3.5 stars. The meat was very good. I had the smoked chicken. It was excellent. My wife had chicken fried steak. It is a huge piece of deep fried deliciousness. I was pleasantly surprised by all the other fried foods on our table, but the chicken was my favorite. The sides were probably my least favorite, especially compared to Babe’s. The green beans were a little sweet for me and the mashed potatoes were missing the creaminess(maybe they need sour cream, like Babe’s). I did like the yams and overall the sides were a 2.5 and the meat was a 4. The food is a bit pricey. I’d recommend one person get a veggie plate and the other get a meat and you split it, especially the chicken fried steak.

Bronc’s is an epic fail. People, don’t waste your time! These other posts are from friends of the owner, employees, or people who don’t have high standards for food quality or customer service. First, the owner greeted and sat us WHILEIN A CONVERSATIONONHISCELLPHONE. We remained open minded and shrugged it off. Then, they serve this weak«salad»(literally, 1⁄10 of a bowl of iceberg, NOTHING in it, tossed with vinaigrette), some dried out biscuits made from a mix. We laughed and just poured on the honey and said, oohhhkay. Keeping an open mind. My husband’s chicken was fried in old grease(it tasted hard and was dark and dry). My mesquite chicken was moist(the only redeeming quality) but very salty. But that can be overlooked. The biggest upset was the«family style sides. They are ALL from a can or box, mind you, but doctored up a little. We expected it, since it’s» home style cooking” it tends to happen. I have a stomach issue where I get full REALLY fast so I always have a ton of food I have to take home and eat later. However, our poor waitress was so humiliated when she told us that she couldn’t give us a box for our sides. And why? «Because the owner doesn’t want to encourage people to take home the sides, because some people were ordering extra and taking it home.» I was silent, like I couldn’t comprehend that he could be serious! Clearly you paid pennies for this boxed/canned food, but you’d rather waste it? And you tell me I cannot have a box for MY leftovers, when I paid $ 12.99 per PERSON for some chicken?! What kind of joke of a restaurant are you running? The sweet soft spoken waitress and both agreed on how wasteful it is, and how it’s not right to refuse me from being able to keep the food I paid for. We left behind bowls of green beans, mashed potatoes, corn, and bbq beans. I give it 3 more months, max. Who do you think you’re fooling? Spending all your money on your fancy décor and your restaurant is empty because your food is sub par and your business practices/customer service is embarrassing.

I have been to this place 3 times since it has opened and it has yet to disapppoint. Breakfast is amazing, large, and very reasonably priced! I had eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits/gravy. Its the best biscuits and gravy in Waco by far! It was so much food for not much money! I have been twice for dinner. First time I went on Sunday and had the chicken tenders and all the sides. On Sunday the sides of the day were mac and cheese and yams, which were so homemade tasting it was like being at home on thanksgiving. The other side, green beans, mash potatoes, and corn were great as well but the yams were amazing. The second time I went for dinner I tried the chicken fried steak. It was good, not the best but definitely will not disappoint! Its still one of the top steaks in Waco. I have had the peach cobbler and let me tell you, it is worth the wait and is amazing! Its plenty to share with 4 people! Do you self a favor and try this place out and spread the word!

Bronc’s is a located in a newly remodeled space in the Westview Village Shopping Center. The are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week. The menu is heavy with fried entrees including fried chicken, fried chicken tenderloins, fried catfish, and chicken fried steak. Choose from one of these large portion main dishes. The football size CF steaks are nicely battered and crispy. The breading adheres nicely to the meat indicating proper preparation. Although it was not really needed, no steak sauce was provided — just some ketchup. A little A1 or Heinz 57 would be a better option. The CF tenders was perfectly cooked. The biscuits are very good! They come painted with a bit of butter and with a pitcher of honey. No additional butter was offered. I went half-n-half with honey on the top portion and cream gravy on the bottom part. Be careful here. They will bring you more of these beauties but you could easily overfill the tank after two or three. A modest looking iceberg lettuce salad arrives first with a basket of the biscuits. Surprisingly, the simple vinaigrette dressing brings the dish alive. The vegetable side dishes were very ordinary. I could not really say that any were fresh. Mashed potatoes, corn, green beans and black-eyed peas were featured and refilled quickly at no additional charge. Desserts included larger cobblers that serve multiple diners or singles servings of several cream pies all looked delicious but few could tackle a slice of pie after a full meal a Bronc’s. Since Waco is the home of Dr Pepper, I was surprised that they didn’t have Diet Dr Pepper. I guess that no one on a diet eats at Bronc’s.
