My date and I went here on a Sunday evening. I was tired, hungry and wanted something tasty. This place isn’t your every day Chinese restaurant; it’s an upscale place with excellent food. The first thing that impressed us was the wonderful menu selection. And, the food was excellent. Next, I couldn’t believe how CLEAN the bathroom was! Clean marble… clean floors. Clean! So, this place gets my highest recommendation and we will be back again soon!

My boyfriend’s mother wanted us to try this restaurant so we went in on a Sunday around lunch. For starters, the restaurant was pretty empty(only 2 other tables were filled) but I guess that also meant that we didn’t have to wave down our waiter every time we needed anything. We started off with wonton soup which I thought was pretty good to start off the meal. It wasn’t anything spectacular but still yummy. For our appetizer, we ordered the Pan-Seared New Bedford Scallops and Sesame Crusted Tuna Carpaccio which might’ve been my favorite part of the meal. The scallops were seared perfectly and there was a light, sauce that complimented the seafood. The sesame crusted tuna was pretty good though it had been prepped beforehand and was not hot/seared like the scallops were(a smidge disappointing). Overall the service was great, space was clean and well kept but the food was only okay. If I were ever in the area again, I would go back to try some more of their dishes since it seems that a lot of people were very happy with their experiences.

I love this place. Super affordable, always consistently good food and nice service. It’s not greasy at all. The vegetable spring rolls were amazing, as was the lo mein.

Delicious! Had a great meal at Elena Wu and the staff was so friendly. We had the Shrimp Wonton Soup to start which was phenomenal. The wontons were light and the filling was so good. For dinner we shared the Chicken Chow Fun and Sesame Shrimp. The noodles had big pieces of chicken and we loved it. The shrimp were huge and the flavor was the perfect sweet sauce. We all loved our meal and can’t wait to go back! Our server was very friendly and made sure we were fully taken care of! He kept giving us extra rice and gave us even more to take home. Plus they have chocolate dipped fortune cookies!

The food was ok, but I was expecting better. I thought the prices were high too. It wasn’t bad, but with so many other restaurant options, we probably won’t be returning.

We visited during SJ Hot Chefs Restaurant Week. $ 35 for four courses. We were NOT disappointed! Each course was better than the last. I’d have to say our favorites were the Shrimp Butternut Bisque, the Crispy Shrimp Wontons, and the Jalapeño Hamachi. Service was good, and it’s BYOB, although they do offer wines from Tomasello winery as well. We will definitely be dining here again.

Elena Wu has been my family and friend’s absolute favorite Chinese & Asian Fusion restaurant since they first opened in The ritz shopping center many years ago. I now live in Florida, but when I heard that Elena re-opened in Town Center, I made sure to go on the first night of my next trip up to NJ. Friends from around the country have raved about Elena’s food and always ask when we can go back! The service is top notch, white table cloth and they will customize any dish for you. Elena, husband and her son always remember our family and come over to say hello and make sure everything is to our liking. There is nothing quite like it anywhere else.

Both food and service was excellent. If you’re looking for quality Chinese food, this is the place to go. The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Definitely not your typical greasy Chinese food. We recommend the Mango Shrimp and Grandfather’s Chicken dishes.

Came for lunch with my sister and her 1yr old daughter. They were very accommodating and loved the baby. The restaurant is very nice, but there isn’t a dress code. I had the lobster dynamite roll, it was delicious! I will definitely come back here.

I went here expecting amazing things, because the old Elena Wu was so bad and everyone was telling us «Just wait until you try the new one.» The food was decent — the most delicious thing we(my mom and I) ordered were crab cake apps. My entrée was sushi and sashimi, and my mother accidentally ordered a crispy-fried noodle dish instead of fried-rice. The sushi was decent — you know, good quality fish. I can’t really complain about sushi I guess. But my mom’s dish was so strange. ‘Fried’ noodles that were either sopping wet and mushy with sauce, or burnt and crispy. She was so selective with her eating — forking a bit here, then having to find a new area to pick from. And of course, she ordered incorrectly(she pointed to something instead of saying Fried Rice) and so she wanted to eat it to be polite, but it was just bad. Our waiter was attentive but very annoying. He actually talked too much and would linger around asking us things about soccer and the weather, instead of letting us eat. I’ve heard better things about Elena Wu’s, so maybe I will try again.

Whenever I go to a fancy restaurant their are 2 important things I look for, great service and great food. You can’t have one without the other, and this place has both. I don’t know how it is when it’s really busy, but my girlfriend and I had a good dinner and excellent service. So why only 3 stars? Because of the prices you can get pretty good Chinese take out in your local area plus they deliver. So the only difference is either do you stay at home and eat the same thing or dine out and pay more? That’s what it comes down to with this place, only they have sushi bar and clean environment.(the bathrooms are amazing) All in all its a great place for a quick dinner date you will definitely get your money worth, just don’t bring too many people because this place is kinda small. Check it out yourself with a small group of people first.

One of my favorite restaurants. Byob. Classy service, great sushi and very friendly staff. The owners are always present and they strive to make you feel very comfortable.

Very friendly staff. I don’t eat tuna tartare but my wife did and loved it. Sweet and sour chicken was good and covered in a light amount of the sauce. I had two rolls that were mixed with crab and lobster. These were both very tasty.

We used frequent Chez Elena Wu before she sold it. First time at the new location last night to see our old friends, and we were not disappointed. Service was friendly and very attentive. We started with shrimp won ton soup and vegetable spring rolls they both were excellent. Elena was nice enough to send us a complementary order of fried crab puffs and they were off the charts delicious! Crabmeat and cream cheese wrapped in some kind of puff pastry lightly fried, very light and very tasty. Crab puffs were not on my radar, but I now think they’re my new favorite. For my entrée I had the sesame crusted tuna with wasabi mayo, which was just amazing. My friend got the general’s chicken which was one of our favorites from the prior location, and he said it was up to expectations. The restaurant is located in the Voorhees Town Center shopping center. It’s new and very nice with some other nice looking restaurants and shops, a great spot to hang in the warmer months.

Food is good, but had a long black hair in my lo mein one day. Haven’t really been able to enjoy lo mein since, needless to say if you go — stick with the Kung Pao. I didn’t call them to let them know, but I’m sure they would have redeemed themselves. The staff is always very friendly.

My friend and I chose Elena Wu to have a nice New Year dinner and a movie. One of the reasons this restaurant was chosen was because they did not have a special menu that we had to order. They called me in the morning to reconfirm my reservation and never mentioned a special menu. Nor was it on the web site stating they had a special menu that one had to order from. My friend arrived earlier than me and was seated when I got there. I was sitting down and she proceeded to tell me of an incident with the owner. My friend relayed to me that she sat down and the regular menu was on the table. She told me that a table of four people attempted to order off the regular menu and the owner was replacing the original menu with a New Year Prefix menu. The table of four objected stating they wanted items off the regular menu. They said they were vegetarians and did not want to order a huge meal from the set menu. They got up and started to leave when the owner stopped them at the door and told them they could order off the regular menu. Then, she attempted to do the same thing to m friend. My friend said all she wanted was sushi. The owner said they were too busy to make all types of food. My friend had a discussion with her and told her it was bad business. She relented and gave us the regular menu. The food is good but, nothing outstanding. The sushi is delicious. However, I have had sushi as good at ShopRite. The regular Chinese is as good as any other Chinese restaurant and nothing to warrant a special visit. In lieu of what happened, I personally see no reason to return to this establishment.

Very nice and classy Chinese restaurant, with good food and excellent service. That’s how I would define this restaurant in one sentence. I had the Honey Walnut Shrimp and it was delicious. Also had the Crème Brule, which I thought was good, but the taste of egg was a bit more than I would have liked. Our waiter was very nice and friendly, and spoke to everyone very politely. The owner even came by making sure that we enjoyed our meal. Yes, the price is a little high for a Chinese restaurant, but this isn’t really your typical, cheap and quick Chinese restaurant.

This place sucks. I don’t have much more energy for it than that. The owners have zero personality and have completely turned me against any positives I might have been able to find in this establishment. The food is way overpriced and the ambiance is nothing special.

Please do not associate this restaurant with the one in the Ritz Plaza with the same name. There is no comparison. This restaurant is owned by the original Elena Wu and the food is superb. This is very good Chinese food but the sushi is also some of the best available in South Jersey. The prices are quite reasonable and the service is very good. I would recommend the crab bisque soup, which is very good. The Mongolian pork is excellent but any of the sushi or sashimi dishes are well worth it. There are great lunch specials available that are reasonably priced.
