Checker’s

This place used to be real good. Now… real bad. Received GREAT service from the owners. They bend over backwards to make sure you’re happy. But when the owners are gone… the place changes. The cashier girl is «give me your order, give me your money». No hi, hello, or thank you. The cook, can’t tell if transgender, but seems to have lots of his/​her alternative lifestyle friends just hanging around. Very uncomfortable. Sorry to those polically correct people out there but not my kind of scene.
As for the food, hard to find charbroiled burgers in visalia. Only reason I came here. But the meat now has a VERY strong petroleum flaver. Not a good taste. Fries are excellent. Like others have mentioned, prices are high for the little hamburger you get. Deluxe burger? Really?
Another thing I might add, owners please take notice; the place is supposed to close at 3pm. Better get there at 2pm. They start removing their outside patio chairs. Go inside? That’s where they put chairs at. Sooo… no place to sit. Just thought about this, hope they sanitize their tables the next day. I usually end up going in the late afternoon, so I barely make it. One day this lady showed up at 2:15. Checked the menu to order. Went to window… but no one came and helped her. She was too late. At least tell her «sorry, not taking anymore orders». Don’t just let a customer wait like an idiot. I guess this place doesn’t care since they cater to the hospital employees, hence the business hours. Owners, please take notice on your employees. They are giving your business a bad name. Look at other reviews to confirm. This place has a good thing better than most burger joints. Charbroiled burgers! Which was why I used to visit here. Don’t lose that business edge to employees that don’t care.

The food was ok n fast but the place was on the dirty side ketchup and mustard containers dirty the worker looked as if he was on drugs not professional would not eat there again

Rude service! Too bad! Owners should really look into the attitudes of their employees.

This is my ‘go-​to’ hamburger joint. Food is top notch. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired, but the hamburger, fries and prey much everything I’ve tried is great.
If it’s not too hot you can eat outside, which I enjoy.

Great burgers and fries! Never had a bad meal here. Nice staff. Good price for what you get as well. A nice walk up burger place.

Its very unfortunate, this was one of the best burger joints in town, right up there with chubbys but in a fast food surrounding. Now I wouldnt feed it to my dog. Worse place in town…
Go to Docs in the old Taco Bell just to the west, you will get much better food and a much better price.

One star is for the proximity to my workplace (across the street) and one star for their breakfast burritos. Do not order anything else from here. 15 years ago they were much better, but now it’s in bad need of a remodel, the food quality is terrible, and the prices have gone way up. I realize they are not a chain so will charge more than the chain burger places, but I feel the owners are not interested in investing any money in their business by remodeling it (have you seen the inside and the tables & chairs?) or serving high quality food. Until they decide they want to have a top notch burger place again, only get their breakfast burritos and sodas. The rest is garbage.

The fries tasted of freezer burn and were awful. Sandwich not good. Received the wrong order and had to drive back. Expensive for what it is, for sure. No good.

The worst hamburger ever your better off going to burger king. 10 dollars for a double cheeseburger (checker Cheeseburger) Really dirty. The old man that brings your food has hair in his ears, gross. Horrible parking. Try Triangle in Fresno.

Was in the mood for a cheeseburger so a co-​worker suggested Checkers. I wanted the double cheese meal to split with my other co-​worker. Gave him $ 6 thinking that would be plenty for what I ordered. UM NO, my Double cheese, fries and a small vanilla coke was $ 10…yeah thanks but no thanks, you are an OVERPRICED RALLEYS!!! SUPER DIRTY INSIDE!!!

Checkers has 50’s music playing all day, and seems like a nice spot to get a burger for lunch. Conveniently located next to Kaweah Delta hospital.
Although this place looks like a old run down burger joint, its not too bad, and it seems like they get good business from the hospital staff for lunch. Nothing fancy, Just simple burgers, pretty good tasting Crinkle cut fries, Sandwiches and shakes.
