Can’t hate how cheap the prices are. Thin waffle but it’s huge! Convenient hours but i“m sure the late night clientele can be odd

Do not go to this location the manager is just as rude as the employees. They forget your food and make you feel unwelcome. Customer service is everything and they do not have it at this location.

Like this place so much! They bring you wonderful waffles and a great day! Everybody’s singing and smiling and it was a great experience. Definitely my first choice for a brunch when I come back Norfolk!

Pleasantly surprised by the service and the food. The wait staff greeted everyone who entered with a smile. The food was delivered to my table in no time. So much food, I had to take some to go. They have definitely stepped up their game.

Waffle House. I’m partially in favor of waffles because I can’t make a good pancake. Nor can I find a good pancake that has the same delicious taste of a waffle house waffle. This Waffle House location apparently is one of the updated ones. Its clean and fresh looking. Not the ugly brown and yellow. The bathrooms are generally clean too. Staff is friendly and fast. The wait time however is as any waffle house. Can be long during peak hours especially considering how small the restaurant is. Overall though I’m never disappointed though when I go to waffle house. The butter, the syrup(the wait), and the incredible waffle.

OK, this divey on-the-road place is one of my favorites. yes, its a dive. Every one I have ever been in has been one. But damn, they can cook me some eggs! Usually don’t have too many problems other than overcooking my order, but they always make it right. I just wish they would add oatmeal to the 24hr menu! On the road, looking for a reliable place? Waffle House is it.

My first time at a Waffle House and I definitely will be a frequent customer. The establishment is small and comfortable. Servers were excellent and even the female cook asked us if everything was okay. I’m not a big waffle fan but I devoured my waffle in minutes. Best waffle I’ve ever had. The grits were perfect along with the eggs. I have no complaints about this small restaurant.

Okay, what is SO freaking difficult about the concept of «extra cheese»? It boggles me that no matter what side of hashbrowns you order, there’s only ONE slice of cheese. I tried to get around this by specifying«with extra cheese» in my triple order of hashbrowns but nope, I still only get one slice. Bruh…

Service was great! Came on a Wednesday night around 8:30pm, the all star meal is the way to go. My husband and I shared since I wasn’t too hungry, our waitress was a delight and she was really nice. Brought us waters and gave us the right amount of time to order. Chocolate chip waffle is a Must! The toast and eggs are nothing to write home about but it is very filling, I didn’t have an issue with the grease and everything seemed clean and fresh. The bacon was a generous portion and made crispy just how we like it.

The only thing I ever get is the All-Star Special. This place is always good and staff are always very friendly. Great spot to sober up past midnight. Expect it to get busy on the weekends especially in the mornings. I’ll take Waffle House over Denny’s or IHOP any day. Best part, everything is served very quickly, I never have to wait more than 15 mins for my meal.

Sunday morning breakfast at around 06 – 0630 ish time frame. I was greeted kindly but not overwhelmed at the door like some food establishments do. the booth I chose to sit in was clean and tables were not sticky, as were all the other booths too. The silverware was clean. My waitress MARY was very kind and attentive she did not rush me to order and allowed me to wake up first haha with my coffee. I ordered the Texas bacon, egg, and cheese plate with hash browns with cheese and ham mixed in and on top. The turn around time on the food was great less than five minutes it felt like. Quality of the food was good. Mary kept my coffee full and didn’t hover over me as I was eating the whole time like I have experienced at I Hops in the past. When I was finished she kindly took my plate and didn’t rush me out. I finished my second or third cup of coffee and left after the meal was payed for. I WILLBERETURNING! maybe for dinner ?, definitely another morning for breakfast and I hope I can get Mary to attend as my waitress again.

It all started back in the 90’s my mother worked at this very waffle house and my dad frequented it. They fell in love then I was born. Their love for each other did not last but I feel as though the love of the waffle house was passed on to me following the divorce. Fast forward about 15 years my uncle, cousin, and I were taking uncle Mike to the airport as the family weekend in the mountains of Asheville were coming to an end. It was around 3:30 in the morning as we drove down that highway to take uncle Mike to the small, compact airport. All of a sudden we had seen a toppled over 18 wheeler over and was stuck under the overpass. After a while of helping out we were on our way to give our last goodbyes to our dear uncle Mike for a while. My cousin, uncle, and I were famished. We were trying to find something to dine on in this small town when saw a waffle house. I had never been there so they insisted we go. It was about 4:30 now, and we all were still so exhilarated from the cowboys win over the eagles from the night prior. We walked into the establishment and was immediately greeted and sat by the very kind staff. Being very unwordly about the waffle house I chose to get what my cousin was having. The all star special with eggs, city ham, toast, hash browns, and of course a blueberry waffle which was around 9 dollars, very cheap for that amount of food. They swiftly made all of our food and brought it out to us. I had the first bite of that blueberry waffle I was dumbfounded by how amazing this waffle was. After the first bite I couldn’t fathom why none of my family had ever taken me there before. Every since then I have visited the waffle house many times with my grandmother. It is a prime destination with quality food, very good prices, great service, and the vibes the restaurant gives off. It had the greatest throwback American vibe. I felt like I was sitting back eating at a restaurant in the 50’s when the golden age of American history was beginning. Also one of the best things about this place is you can meet the heart and soul of America’s southern people. My dream is to go down to the southern parts of the country and meet the people of the great waffle houses in the south. I feel as though instead of sending bombs and armies, we should send waffle houses to foreign countries. I cannot wait to take my wife and children to the waffle house when I’m in my adult life. It is truly heaven on earth and one of the greatest places ever. ~Billy Sorey II

For a chain this place has perfected the art of being a diner. I would challenge anyone to find a place that can turn around an order so quickly and still make it feel like it isn’t fast food. We came here for lunch on Thanksgiving. I had 2 eggs with sausage and hash browns. My friend had steak and eggs and a waffle on the side. I loved the gravy on the hash browns. It really tasted like homemade even though I know it’s mass produced and brought in from else-where. My favorite part is watching the open kitchen and how the orders flow in and out so quickly. The way the manager stays back and supervises the kitchen is like watching someone conduct controlled chaos. Waffle House is a place that no matter where it is the food is solid and on point. It is one of my guilty pleasures for a great meal.

I have never seen any place as busy as like this. Its quite impressive how fast the customer service is serving from guests to another. Despite the busy kitchen scenario the staffs ensures that everyone gets their food on time. This is my first time and surely not be the last time. I have absolutely enjoyed my meal and had an awesome experience. Probably, some of the most terrific customer service I have encountered. Hands down the staff is hospitable and accommodating. On my recent visit, I ordered the STEAKS&EGGS with a sides of hashbrowns and toast. Of course, I couldn’t resist but to try the specialty WAFFLE. To be honest, nothing spectacular with the food but it just simply delicious and filled with love. And waffle.waffle.waffle.is so good and I wanted more. This may be a chain but it definitely has the soul of a home cooked meal. I love the touch of southern concept, definitely represent. Indeed, it is a Waffle house.

Dont come on the weekend, omg a nightmare. Anyway, food is alright. The onions in ‘smothered’ are more raw than sautéed. The waffle is very soft, the hash browns are crisp on the outside and the eggs are standard. Meh, what do you expect from waffle house?

Went here with a buddy this morning for breakfast before I dropped him off at the airport. First off, if you’re coming here, you’re probably looking for just a decent quick bite of food at a cheap price. Well this place nails all of that. When you walk in, it’s just a bare bones«no frill» restaurant that what you see is what you get. First off, don’t sit on the bar stools. A wooden stump is likely more comfortable. With regards to seating, they don’t sit you down, you choose your own spot and someone will come to help you. I ordered a ham/cheese omelette with some hash browns. Supposedly, the hash browns are one of their signature features. I didn’t know this until I saw the vast array of options you can get with them. When considering food, check it out because the ‘slang” of options is entertaining. Overall, the food was good and worked for what we were accomplishing to do which was a decent breakfast in less than 30 minutes at cheaper than airport food prices. As far as the service, well this is where it could use a little bit of help. However, I honestly think the design of the restaurant is part of what leads to the problem. When you combine the fact that the cooking and prep area is readily visible, combined with the small facility size, the employees are granted virtually zero privacy from the customers. So in turn, they chat in the open. This is where the problems occur. The conversations that were being held were a little loud and in a few cases inappropriate if there were kids around. As for me I could care less considering the reason we were here. Just take this into consideration if going here. Overall, the three stars is because our particular waitress was very friendly and prompt, food was good, facility was clean, and an unbeatable price point. I would definitely come back if I was looking for a quick«non» fast-food type meal.

This Waffle House located on the Beach Norfolk line on North Hampton Blvd was the very first restaurant I ate at when rolling into Virginia Beach on a Sunday January 2005 at 6:15AM. I have come back to this little dinner over a dozen times since and have found it to be consistently good Last night after a very long and tiring weekend at my son’s swim meet out of town we both were ready to gorge ourselves on a couple All-Star meals. If you don’t know what an All-Star breakfast is then you have really missed out. It is pretty much half the menu rolled into one meal. But seriously, it’s a waffle, eggs, meat, potatoes/grits and drink. If you eat everything your pretty much going to be able to skip your next meal. My visit last night reminded me of that first time, it was completely dead. The service from beginning to end was friendly. I love when you are immediately greeted when walking in the door as we were. Immediately after the order was placed drinks on the table and food out very quickly. The food tasted great and my son loves to get his waffle with chocolate chips sprinkled on the top. Everything was served hot and a quick follow up by the waitress to check on us was terrific. If you are not a grits fan give WH a try, they are delicious. What I would have liked to see is a cleaner kitchen, the floor needed a good sweeping. However, the dining room was spotless. Don’t let the two visits that I speak of fool you. Most of the time this place is packed and gets a lot of traffic from the adjacent Econo Lodge Hotel and late night club party goers Friday and Saturday. As far as Waffle Houses go this is a good one. Bring your appetite if you go large for the All-Star.

Slice of the south with a touch of syrup and the smell of waffle batter! You know this is gonna be good when you have syrup on the table from the previous guests. We always stop in every time we come down to N.C. for vacation. its like a tradition, and a superstition if you don’t stop. What is there not to love about Waffle house, it’s fast, you are in and out and right to the bathroom with in a half hour. The smell of waffles being made, orders being screamed out, pots of coffee. Tourist come and go, everyone knows and if they didn’t know now they do.
