Econo Lodge Inn & Suites I-64 & US 13

Too bad I missed these other reviews!!! Using Mapquest I booked at econo lodge inn & suites I 64 & US 13 on ⁶⁄₄ and was sent the confirmation. I arrived at the hotel around 4:30 or so on ⁶⁄₂₄ and was informed that my reservation had been cancelled due to my card being declined. I had my confirmation from printed out and they still insisted it had been cancelled due to being declined. I had used my card that day and knew it was still good. The manager said they could still give me the same kind of room, but not at the price — $ 109 — that I had gotten online — it was going to be $ 149. Needless to say I asked him why they would not honor the amount I had been given and the manager just kept arguing with me, saying he would not, that they had cancelled my reservation, they have not been paid and he would not honor the amount I had been given. I left and found another hotel. I see on my credit card statement that the money has been taken from my account, so I am disputing it — and will probably never try to stay at any econo lodge (yes, lower case ’cause the) don’t deserve uppercase) again!

This hotel is beside a Waffle House within Virginia Beach city limits. It is about a 20 – 30 minute drive to the oceanfront depending on traffic. The hotel doesn’t seem to have the greatest clientele. Our first night a group of guys drinking Bud Light and blasting country music were super loud outside, and we were woken at 3am by another group who were also being super loud and playing loud music outside. However; the room wasn’t bad. I have stayed in far worse! Our double bed non-​smoking did smell faintly of cigarettes and the beds were kind of itchy. But the furniture was nice and the shower had good water pressure. The room featured cable TV, a microwave, mini fridge, and lock safe! The best part was the beside table and desk all had charging stations. It was a little black bar with spots for plugs and usb ports! That was so nice! Overall, I’m not sure I’d return due to location, but the room was definitely alright

I am writing this as my bf and I are driving home back to NJ. First, we drove to va beach for a nice little vacation this hotel was in a great location. It took us 7 hours to drive there. We get there check in everything seemed fine. The room wasn’t the best that I’ve stayed at but, I thought we would be ok until Tuesday. We got in the room which was supposed to be non smoking. It smelled like a smoke shop. We had to go to the store to get some air freshners. The next day we went out for a while. We get back to the room in the evening. We are laying in the bed I see one roach, two roach, three roach. That was too many for me I call the front desk to tell them they have a roach problem. Front desk says they never heard of that. I fail to believe that. The room was infested. He sent maintenance up very nice guy. He sprayed put some type of powder more roaches came out. Needless to say we packed our luggage and cut our Saturday nite to Tuesday morning short. I am now afraid to even take my luggage in my home. I have to stop at a laundry mat to go shake my stuff out and wash it. The only reason I gave this 1 star is because I couldn’t give this place a negative 1. BEWARE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Awful. I don’t believe that this place is allowed to exist. Very unsanitary. Feels like I was in with the bed bugs, crabs, hoes, pimps! Plain disgusting.

THIS PLACE IS A DUMP!!! DO NOT stay here!!! Someone else made this reservation or I would have left soon after arriving.
The characters they rent to are shady. Someone I was with swears she saw a prostitute and another person said there were drug deals going down all night. Cars were coming in and out all night long.
It would be better (safer) to sleep in your car than stay at this place.

I would agree with Cindy’s review (from July), zero stars would certainly be more accurate.
1) We had issues when attempting to modify our reservations before we even arrived. Instead of changing the dates on one of the 2 rooms we had booked, they reserved an additional room, resulting in hundreds of dollars being «held» on the credit card.
2) We arrived around 4pm. They give us our keys and one of the rooms isn’t even clean.
3) Rooms smelled funny.
4) A room with a double bed only had 1 set of towels. When I went to get another set from the front desk, I was told that they had all been given out. (It was Labor Day weekend, but my goodness!!!)
I’m glad we spent most of our time at the beach. Never again.

Terrible customer service, especially coming from a chain hotel company in the hospitality industry. Our reservation was cancelled without notification or reason and they put us in a smoking room & refused a refund until a long drawn out debate and from the manager. So disappointed.

Can I give zero starts?!? This place is horrible. We booked a site with two queens, a pull out couch (sleeps 5) and two tv’s through
. when we got to the motel the woman at the front desk told us right away that we were not going to like the suite at all but that she could give us a regular room for the same price! We checked out the suite that had one queen bed and a couch that pulled out to a single. We asked for a discount and was denied with no cancellations allowed.
Needless to say four of us are sharing two double beds for our long weekend. Never again!

We booked this hotel thinking it was close to the Boardwalk, NOT!!! This place was about 30 mins from the Boardwalk. The area that this hotel is located in is ghetto. We caught a man peeking through the fence at us. Even though the staff was nice and helpful, we checked out within 1 hour. If you are trying to save $$$ on hotel cost, you may as well forget about it. It is not worth it.
