First of all, THANKYOU for the FREE tickets! Honestly, i was a lil… ok, ok, i was ALOT hesitant about going, because-FREE TICKETS seemed«too good too be true». And not only were they free, but i was able to get up to 6 tickets FREE! Anywho, myself and 3 family members were able to make it! Parking wasn’t toooooo bad, especially for a Friday nite… in Virginia Beach! It was a cold walk to the building though! The process to get my tickets was painless and the lady at the window was really friendly and had great customer service(hard to find nowadays). I think we got there a little too early, so once inside-we hung around in the bar area. Some of the drinks seemed to be slighly pricey… in my opinion, HOWEVER, I think my drink was priced just fine, anddddd it was yummy. Once they opened the doors for seating, the nice gentleman found out we were«newbies» at the FunnyBone, & he explained their process to us and showed us the restrooms/exits. I appreciate the other man asking if we wanted to be seated near the stage… uhhhh, NOTHANKYOU :-) My only minor complaint is that the seating area was a tad bit«tight». Luckily, we had an end table, but had we been sitting in the middle, we would have been like sardines, as eveyone in my party was quite tall and we appreciate a little«leg room». The opening acts and the main comedian(Ralph Harris) were very funny!!! Overall, everything was great! We definitely want to go back! Bravo!!!

Adding this to our date night list! Definitely a good time. We chose the 9:30pm showtime on Saturday night. We got our tickets online and were instructed to pick up the tickets at will call. There was a $ 10.00 service charge when bought online, and we picked up the tickets at «will call» which was in the same line as people buying tickets. So I would try buying the tickets straight from the venue on the night of the show to potentially avoid the $ 10.00 per ticket service charge. We got in line at about 9:15pm and the line moved relatively quickly. When you get in the theatre it is community seating so we sat at a table with 2 other random people. Definitely an interesting concept but it didn’t bother us any. A server(Ryan) quickly came to our table and we ordered a few drinks and the pretzel appetizer. I ordered the«Rubber Chicken» mixed drink for $ 8.50 and you can keep the souvenir Funny bone club glass. I ended up ordering another one later on and thought to myself that I should get two glasses. I planned on saying something to Ryan when he came back. Well he sure was on top of things! He brought our check and 2 clean souvenir glasses! We definitely enjoyed ourselves. My only advice would be to eat dinner elsewhere before the show, and just plan on drinks and a light snack at the comedy club. They do have a pretty big menu, but all of the food looked average. Also, bring a jacket or something to lean against. The chairs have really low backs that are not very comfortable.

Free tickets are always a perk. The food is average, but pricey. I learned my lesson. I’ll eat beforehand. Also, drink beforehand, too. The food and drinks are too expensive for the bathroom to be as nasty as it was. They had plenty of security, but I didn’t see any employees around cleaning and straightening up. As far as entertainment, it’s very good. I really enjoyed the hostess, Kristen. She was pretty funny! Moral of the story, eat, drink, and use the bathroom before you come. Lastly, get there early so you don’t get stuck sitting behind someone with a big head.

I love that they give out free tickets and that the comedians are funny. I do not love the sardines seating! It is tight people! Yes, I am a big girl, but I see skinny people looking uncomfortable too. Oh, and you will sit with strangers, shoulder to shoulder, get comfy. I have only sat next to very nice people and we chat a bit before the show, but if you are on a date or taking a night away from the kids with your spouse, maybe you might want some space to yourself. We usually eat before coming to the show and just get some dessert or drinks, I don’t want to choke on food during the show! I have almost had water come flying out my nose because I took a sip at the wrong time. Drink carefully my friends. Give it a try, it is always a fun time!

Went to a Battle of Comedians. Sat with strangers(me and wife) when there were plenty of open seats. Didn’t care to have to share date night with strangers. Food ok, very slow service… at least from our waitress. I figure since there’s an automatic 15% tip, she knew she didn’t have to make an effort. And she didn’t. Don’t know if I’d go back, unless for a major headliner. Overpriced and under serviced.

I’ve been here a few times and have been seated in different areas, overall I really enjoy this place, staff are helpful, everything’s pretty organized, and the food is alright. The only con I can think of is how tight the seating is, there’s very limited personal space at tables and forget scooting out into the isle lol otherwise I have no issues with this location, it’s the best local comedy club in the area.

Brought in the New Year, with comedian Coco Brown. She was hilarious along with comedian Mike Baldwin. They kept us in stitches all evening until the New Year countdown started! The comedians were outstanding but the seating was tight, you were basically basically sitting on top of each other. The comedians made that a minor insight. Had a great time!

So again I’m forced to deal with customer service that is absolutely terrible. Me and my husband happened to miss the show last night and of course nothing can be done to either credit or refund. I truly wish there was another comedy club near by that had name comedians I would be there in a heartbeat. Unfortunately that is not the case.

The comedians are always awesome, but I always feel like I am being punished for being there by the staff. They CROWD you in like sardines in a can. We were in a group of 4 and wanted to sit at a table for 4, but NOOOOOOOOO we had to sit at a table for 6 because they wanted to room to feel FULL for the comedian. However, it was in the same section. I understand that they don’t want us in the back, but two tables over? Also, the food was horrid and way overpriced. I like to tip based based on service(MANY times I tip WAY more than 20 percent) but NOOOOOOO, tips are all added and they don’t even have brewed iced tea. Geesh. I think I will organize my own comedy event and everyone will be happy.

What was the name of the city inspector that you paid off to allow you to pack so many people in a small space I only saw one way in and out I was sitting in the in the space that should have been cleared for the people to get to the tables by the way the back of my chair was against the table that I should have been able to use if I had odered food but I guess the management assumed that I was supposed to eat and drink out of my lap I did not feel safe or comfortable I felt that in case of a fire that no one would be able to safely exit I felt that I was sitting in a death trap. I will never again set foot in the funny bone there is no humor in putting lives in danger to make a profit

Don’t leave early because you start your period ladies because you will be harassed by security about whether or not your tab is paid. You will have to walk with a staff member back into the showroom and have to show them where you sat so they can then find your server to verify that you’re not a criminal. Wow! Perhaps y’all need to invent a better system to avoid treating decent people like this!!! Trifling! You’ll never see my money ever, ever again. Ha, ha, no.

We have always had a great time at the Funny bone. We frequent this place and love everything about it. However, last night was a shame. We weren’t served, had to request a wait staff, and she wasn’t pleasant(thin black woman with blonde hair, I think she hates her job). Our order was taken, but not received, and the top of the cake was the comedian(Faizon Love). He was high or drunk, could barely understand him because of this. I would have paid just to see Bo Dacious(Hilarious)!! I hate giving bad reviews to a wonderful place, but please make note, correct it and encourage your staff to be as kind and professional as the older gentleman with braids, he truly has the best attitude.(I need to learn his name.)

Customer service is poor. The menu item was a bottle of wine for $ 22. It was brought to the table opened and was a tiny bottle. No one told us it was not a normal size bottle. We asked to upgrade to a normal size bottle, but we were told no because the bottle was open. Any other restaurant opens your bottle at the table. All other bottles on the menu were normal size except this one. But you cannot tell by the menu. The manage was unfriendly(Lindsey), and has no customer service skills. My friend and I both own our own business and were shocked by the experience.

In my opinion we never get any comedians worth seeing in this area, so I’m surprised when there is a name that I actually recognize performing. My fiancé & I bought tickets to see Rob Schneider this past weekend & although he & the comedian who opened for him were hilarious, the atmosphere was uncomfortable. It’s been years since I had been, but I forgot how tight they pack you in. You’re so squished beside your neighbor. I don’t know how people order their overpriced food & enjoy it. It didn’t help that the ac seemed to be broken & it was sooo hot in there. Even the comedians were making jokes about the heat. Everyone was sweating & I could smell it. So Gross!!! The drinks are overpriced & the servers are so busy with the amount of people that pack in that it takes forever to get your beverage. The comedians were the best part, but unless someone awesome performs I doubt I’ll return.

Just left Comedy Club with Roy Schneider. Service was on vacation tonight… totally horrible. Food came 1 min before show ended. We cancelled order 15 min prior because it took so long to get food(as did MANY other customers) and they still brought it. I was totally looking forward to seeing Rob Schneider and missing so many jokes because of the staff running around and customers getting upset over the service. This not my 1st time here, but tonight was by far the worst experience and pissed that I couldn’t enjoy a favorite comedian. So at the end of the night, I paid for a show I couldn’t enjoy… they still charged me $ 10 for a coke zero and tea. I don’t want a handout, but you could suck up a little by not charging me $ 10 for a $.50 drink. Just a tip for those reading this… the cost of the food at the Funny Bone is just as much as the restaurant«bravo» downstairs. Difference is that Bravo actually makes their dishes from scratch to where the FB is «diner» like food.

Cool place right here. Went a little while ago. Was impressed. It was freezing in there though so bring a jacket. The drinks are good. The wings I had for an app was excellent. I had some blueberry wing sauce or something and it was excellent. This place is in between the Cheesecake Factory and Ruth’s Chris… You can’t beat that at all! The overall vibe of this place is pleasant. Very relaxing and soothing. And you get a good laugh in also. I went when Aries Spears was there. He’s a funny guy. My only thing I wished they would do is reserved seating. It was a little awkward to sit at a table then turn your whole back around to see the comedian.

If you’re willing to tolerate poor service, overpriced bad food, and being packed in so tight that you can barely lift your drink to your mouth without elbowing the person next to you, just to see a comedy show — then head to the Funnybone! Bad service: the drink menu at the bar had some Angry Orchard cider drinks, and I ordered a «light Apple», which was ½ cider and ½ Sam Adams. The picture showed it in a pint glass — as you would get in any bar when you order a snakebite. Instead, I was handed a bottle of cider and a bottle of Sam Adams, and a plastic cup to pour it in that didn’t even hold a full bottle. This is while waiting in line to get in. I asked for a larger cup, of which there were stacks at the bar, and was told I couldn’t have one. So I had to try and find a way to juggle two half full beer bottles and a cup while waiting to get in. That’s just a start! The service inside was just as bad as at the bar. The place was only half full, yet everyone was crammed in on top of each other. There was a table of more full-figured people behind us, and my friend and I were literally wedged so close to our table that we couldn’t get out to use the restroom or leave until the people behind us left.(btw — I am not blaming them. They were clearly as uncomfortable as we were. If we had used the restroom during the show, they would have had to move to let us out, which would have been disruptive to everyone.) Yet, when we asked, before the show started, to move to another table we were told no. Even though there were at least 20 empty tables in the room. This place is like a cattle call. They have to interest in making sure their guests have a pleasant experience. They just want you to drop your cash and leave. Terrible experience overall. Will not go back.

For a smaller comedy club(not that I’m an expert), The Funny Bone draws some great talent to the VA Beach area. Case in point: Josh Blue, one of the winners of The Last Comic Standing. He alone made this visit totally worth it. But first, we all had to get some food and drink after arriving pre-show. Seating is apparently first-come, first serve as they just fill up the tables from front to back upon arrival. Unfortunately, our table was right next to one of the interior pillars, although we could all still see the stage just fine. Plus, there isn’t a ton of elbow room between the cramped tables, so be aware or your neighbors. The food and drink were good, but nothing to get overly excited about. I opted for the Bacon Bleu burger, which was a good choice. However, I had Long Island Ice Tea that was very tasty and strong. Plus, I got to take home the souvenir Funny Bone glass.(Actually I left with two… hey, I was thirsty after a hot, beach day!) The service is decent, but a little on the slow side. However, I don’t envy the waiters and waitresses who seems to be running around non-stop, mostly in the dark, trying to get all the food and drink orders out in a reasonable time. But the show was a complete riot from start to finish! I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed so hard in such a short amount of time. Josh Blue is the man! By far, an entertaining and affordable evening if you’re going to be out and around the VA Beach Town Center. 3.5 Stars.

Went to the Funny Bone last night to see Pauly Shore. He was funny and it was a good time but my boyfriend and I were sat at a little four top with another couple we didn’t know in a corner near the back middle. The tables on either side of ours were so close that when I and my neighbors were sitting in our seats the backs were hitting each other. It’s weird and really uncomfortable because every time you or they move you hit chairs and jar the person or they jar you. Also — as always because I’m cursed — Sasquatch sat in front of us yet again and I couldn’t see around their huge mutant head so half the stage was obstructed. A little better design and planning could ensure that all customers can see the stage by doing stadium seating or raised portions which I think they did try but it’s not working out exceptionally well. I realize the need to make money by packing people in and the informal bar environment but they do serve food and those little cramped tables and the absolute lack of personal space for two hours is uncomfortable. My ex-husband was a giant 6’2 football player type man who loved laughing but hated being cramped in there because he almost couldn’t fit because when he pulled his chairs out to sit at the table he almost never had enough room. It’s a big consideration of you’re going to be sitting there for 2 hours or so and even more if you’re planning to eat. I only go when it’s someone I really want to see because otherwise it’s not worth it.
