One of… Actually, my favorite sushi place in Virginia Beach. I always come here for the Lunch Bento special and it always makes me want to come back for more. The sushi here is affordable, delicious, and fresh. I frequently try new types of sushi and appetizers here and I haven’t found a single one I haven’t liked yet. The wait staff is very friendly and everyone always has a smile on their face. They have a fairly large menu but I would definitely recommend the Sunny Day appetizer, their dragon rolls, and also their house salad (it’s phenomenal).

Yum. I’ve ordered sushi from here many times via order up and have always found it to be really fresh and delicious.
They have a pretty large sushi menu with tons of specialty rolls and I always have a hard time choosing what I want to eat because I want about 5 things and I can’t eat that much sushi. Lol.
I still have more to try but so far I love the Empire, Las Vegas, and Firecracker rolls. My favorite is the Empire with yellowtail, white tuna, avocado and masago wrapped in a soy sheet.
For appetizers I like the Pepper Tuna Tataki, which is pretty much what it says it is, and the Pepper Tuna Shumai which is pepper tuna wrapped around spicy crabmeat and seaweed salad. Nom.
Their seaweed salad is good (not too sweet and swimming in sauce).
I have never actually set foot inside this place so I can’t speak to that. But sushi delivered is amazing!

Review of Delivery via OrderUp
Have been a repeat customer since coming across their listing on OrderUp for VA Beach late summer/​fall of last year. My family and I recently relocated to the area last spring and found OrderUp was a great opportunity to check out the menu offerings for local establishments without having to pay a visit to the restaurants themselves.
Our typical household order consists of Chicken Katsu with either the house salad or miso, an order of the shrimp & vegetable tempura, and a complimentary order of a volcano roll (when you order $ 25 worth of food. I suppose you could say that in our household we are all creatures of habit. It’s not that we are afraid to try new things, quite the contrary, I definitely have the more adventurous palette in the household. We simply are the kind of folk who know what we want and return to get just that. Especially when the quality of the product is as consistent as it has been for us with every order.
My last order, I decided to splurge, it was my birthday, and decided to take a chance on the tempura cheesecake. Oh my goodness! Talk about heaven! It was delicious. Cheesecakes tend to be a hit or miss in my experience — with majority of the misses being due to the product being too sweet. This one was perfect. As always the tempura batter was the perfect consistency and color, complimented the cheesecake filling, and the chocolate drizzle was the perfect accompaniment (not too sweet either). The portion size was decent for the price.
Sapporo has a note on the OrderUp site that also references a 45 min to 1 hour timeframe from the time the order is placed to when it is delivered. Since we typically order meals for a family of 3 – 4 and taking into consideration most of our orders are placed just before or during evening rush hour traffic, I find it a reasonable amount of time to wait for the food. Food always arrives within the anticipate window of delivery, the entire order is delivered (nothing missing), and food is always hot and fresh.
Eventually, I plan on paying a visit to the location in person and dining in for a change. For now though, I’m pleased with the delivery and online order experience.

Stopped here on Christmas Day and ordered sushi to-​go. It is now our favorite sushi spot in Virginia Beach. The service was EXCELLENT! Everyone was in a good mood and extremely friendly. My husband and I love everything about this place.

Great customer service and the salmon sushimi along with the fried rice was very good.

Absolutely love this place. Great Customer Service, Rolls are always delicious. I always get the pick 2/​pick 3 and its perfectly priced and always the right amount of food and sometimes more! Love to eat in, but love the other options of easy ordering and deliver. I mean who would have thought that a sushi place would deliver around here?!? Have been coming here for years and will continue to.

Best sushi ever! I’ve had sushi all over the world and this is my all time favorite. The owners are absolutely amazing. They remember your order and make you feel like the most important person in the room. The food is fresh and the menu has so many amazing choices. Everything comes to the table artfully arranged, each a work of art! They even deliver!!!

Sushi for lunch today and while they have a few standard lunch specials, it was interesting to see chirashi there. Rather than rice balls topped with fish, chirashi is a separate seasoned rice with a selection of sashimi slices.
The gal who took my order warned me that it would take a while. I could see that there were several other tables still waiting on their orders, so I appreciated the heads up. It didn’t really take all that long and since I was sitting at the sushi bar, the chef handed me my plate only a few minutes later.
A nice big serving of white rice topped with some sort of crunchies on top. Very tasty and because it was proper sticky sushi rice, it was really easy to eat with chopsticks. Neatly stacked on the plate were a handful of different sashimis including the usual salmon, tuna, crab stick and a shrimp. Artfully presented, as sushi usually is. And very tasty. Not terrific, but A-​OK.
A very nice portion for under $ 10 and I left with the feeling that I’d made a healthy choice for lunch!

Took a shot just based off the other reviews here and was not disappointed at all! The sushi and sashimi were delicious and my wife really enjoyed the tempura cheesecake. We had quite the little feast for less than $ 50.

It is 40 bucks delivery charge to deliver on base but it’s 20 bucks else where. That sucks !
I guess they assume if you are on base you have more money.

Sushi delivery, hello and yes please!
I cannot express how happy it makes me that I can have sushi delivered in this culinary black hole we call Virginia Beach. And not only this, but the sushi is delicious. I have ordered several rolls, sashimi, soups, gyoza, everything has always been fresh, tasty and I have zero complaints. Ordering is easy and delivery times are quick.
The reason I have not awarded this place 5 stars is because I have not actually *been* to the venue. IDGAF, I’m a mom and I’m am lazy. And anyway, being lazy is totally in right now, because who in the hell wants to cook when its 100 degrees outside? Not this chick.

Wonderful service. Beautiful and delicious food! Chef gave us a free appetizer for no reason. One of the best places we’ve eaten since relocating to va beach!

This restaurant extended my life time by at least 50 years. They gave us free appetizers because they were so nice. It is just overall an awesome place to eat. The service is great, and the food is too. Just go there as fast as you can please if you are reading this. You can thank me later.

The yaki soba noodle entrée was delicious! Lots of flavor. Miso soup was decent and the house dressing was on point! Rolls were just ok. Friendly staff, yummy food. :)

While visiting friends in Virginia Beach I was craving sushi. They recommended this place that had delivered to their house a few times before. We called to order only to be told they don’t and never have delivered to their house before. Confused we hung up and decided just to suck it up and order take out from them. We used their online ordering option which was smooth and easy and we ordered $ 80 worth. My friend ordered the steak and shrimp hibatchi and they called me back a few minuets later to ask how we wanted our steak cooked. When I asked how long before we could come pick up our order they replied «55 minuets, we are really busy.» I wasn’t confident that it was that busy so we gave it 30 minuets and went to pick it up. The place was empty except for one couple and our order was already ready. The food was excellent but after that experience I doubt my friends will ever eat there again.

I have never eaten inside the restaurant, just delivery but they always do a great job. I always order their shrimp tempura. It’s amazing. I’m not big not sushi, but enjoyed their Chesapeake roll. I love that they give a 10% discount to military and they always put little Japanese candies in the bag for delivery.

Even after I was served raw chicken here on my first visit, I decided to give them another shot. We ordered delivery and everything was great. We didn’t order the Chicken Yakitori since we had a bad experience last time, but the sushi, salads, Chicken Katsu and Steak Hibachi were all really good. I didn’t care for the sauce that comes with the Steak Hibachi, but we enjoyed everything else about it.
We were appreciative for the free delivery to base and the 10% off for being military.

Excellent sushi. This used to be our usual spot when we had the raw fish craving but for a while there things just seemed to be going down hill. We went back last night and they have a revamped menu with a bunch of new items, to include a new sake menu. However, no cocktails. Just beer and wine.
My wife loved her ocean roll. Between the razor thin slice of lemon and the dollop of sriracha, you didn’t need any soy or wasabi. Plenty of flavor in between those chopsticks.
Nigiri pieces easily passed the drape test and the fish was cold and fresh. Loved it.
