I don’t know what’s in their ice coffee — but I want the secret recipe…

Best everything bagels I’ve ever had. And their pistachio muffins are pretty amazing too.

Having just finished a remodel, the Vernon Between Rounds is a step-up from its previous version. With more comfortable seating and more outlets to charge your laptop and cellphone the renovation has helped to make this location a more efficient work-space. Oh, and there is now an outdoor patio area too. The menu is the same though. Breakfast and lunch wraps and sandwiches are made from Boar’s head brand. Salads, soups and grilled paninis are also available. Although tasty, the pricing leans on the higher side. Portions can be small and often times I find myself still hungry after finishing a wrap or panini. FYI Mon thru Fri: 6am-8pm Sat: 6am-530pm Sun: 7am-3pm

Won’t be headed here anytime soon. Stopped in for a bagel and a coffee that cost six dollars. Because I didn’t have my ID on me, my chip enabled credit card was not good enough. I was told it’s because they don’t have a chip enabled credit card reading system. We are buying bagels here, not TVs. Headed over to McDonalds for an oatmeal, they were happy to take my $$. With this new Starbucks competition coming in, between rounds better catch up with the technology. I can buy my groceries with my phone, but I can’t even buy a bagel with a credit card.

This place has the best bagels around. I’m usually here at least once or twice a week and the mornings are always pretty busy, especially the weekends. Their ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel is my go to, but you really can’t go wrong with anything that you get. They have a nice selection of pastries and sandwich varieties which are simple yet delicious. The staff for the most part is always polite and efficient, even during their busier times. I know it’s a bakery but I only wish they cleaned up the crumbs and wiped down the containers behind the counter more frequently.

Stopped here on a «felt like a bagel» whim this morning(8÷19÷15). Anyone who reads my reviews knows that good food is important, but the customer service or human element is just as important. 1) I felt like I had to prod the cashier for a good morning. 2) My sandwich was called out(fine), left on the counter for me(the girls were packaging up other stuff – understandable, I guess, but not really). No «thank you», «have a good day».“sorry, we’re swamped” – «just go get your food – its over there.» Bottom line: if I’m paying $ 3BIGDOLLARS(yes, I know, I don’t eat like that often) for a bagel from a non-traditional, non-chain, I expect a little more«love» when I order and receive my food, busy or not. If Dunkin does it, so should they. Don’t plan to go back.

Highly recommend this bagel shop! Bagels sandwiches and plain with cream cheese are delicious. Definitely get the frozen caramel latte… it is amazing!

I’m driving around looking for new places to try that aren’t large chain restaurants. I swing in here thinking that a bagel/deli joint could have some potential. I was not disappointed. The girls behind the counter were quick and helpful when I asked a question or two. I got one of their signature sandwiches on an onion bagel toasted. Delicious. To my surprise it came with a pickle and chips. They had a good selection of beverages, many bread choices to pick from, a decently sized menu to order a breakfast or lunch sandwich off of, and a comfortable dining area to go alone or with a group. Good stuff!

This place was delicious. I had a egg and cheese on a sundried tomato bagel. I wish the egg would have been fried and not microwaved but besides that it was tasty! The coffee station was great too!

I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted sesame bagel. I asked for them to add tomatoes to it. They advise me that it’s $ 0.59 extra. Really? So paying $ 4.56 to begin with for a breakfast sandwich isn’t enough to warrant me tomatoes as well? I know it’s just 60 cents, but principal comes into play here. HEADSUP. I can get the same thing elsewhere for cheaper with tomatoes. That being said. I do like the bagels here, but the coffee is OK at best, and the service is nice, but kinda slow. Sorry, for 60 cents I say goodbye to this place. Get a clue.

I regular Between Rounds EVERY morning in Vernon and occasionally the other locations in Manchester, East Hartford and Rocky Hill. The employees there are always friendly, even though they are extremely busy and always manage to say«Good Morning» and«Have a good day» and even by name every time! The food, coffee and pastries are excellent. Although today I was a little disappointed… and it had nothing to do with the employees or the food. I was getting my coffee and the OWNER walked up behind me to get himself a coffee,(he was obviously not too busy), noticed ONE wrapper on the table and a LITTLE residual sugar from someone’s coffee on the table. Rather than grab a rag and wipe it down real quick, he made a snide remark to his employees,(who were obviously busy with the morning rush), to «Clean up this mess!» and then again while I was picking up my bagel that they had just finished, «this is disgusting». If your employees are busy making you money… clean it up yourself!!! I’m a local here and know a lot of the local business owners and I know for a fact, that they would certainly help when needed. If it was my first time there and I didn’t know and love the staff at this business, I certainly wouldn’t be giving it 5 stars after this mornings event. I probably wouldn’t recommend them at all! He should thank his employees for this 5 Star rating!

Average. A step above Dunkin. Fresh cut fruit was nice, and the woman behind the counter brought me a fresh serving when she saw the one on the counter was past its prime. Bagel sandwich was average. Typical«not really whole wheat» bagel. At lease I had some melon to wash it down. I noticed a few microwaves but no grill, so although the food is made fresh to order, I don’t think you’ll get a nice fried egg at this establishment. Again, much preferred over a chain joint, but could use some improvement on the food quality front.

Stopped in here on out way out of town for a girls day! I’m usually pretty picky about where I get my bagel sandwiches from, but I was pleasantly surprised at how taste this one was. We both ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. How can you go wrong with a sandwich like that? The bagel was soft and the bacon crispy. The only thing we weren’t sure about was how they actually made the eggs and bacon. We didn’t see any sort of grill behind the counter and we didn’t hear the sound of microwaves going off. It’s a mystery, I suppose. Either way the bagel sandwich was delicious and the service was fast and friendly. I’ll definitely be back should I ever be in the mood for a bagel!

Theyve got delicious food and some friendly staff. The bagels are delicious and the coffee isnt bad. The pastries are also fairly good. I think this is an excellent little breakfast/lunch spot.

Their food is decent(the veggie cream cheese is particularly good, and they have salt bagels, which can be hard to find) but the service is lacking and some items on the menu just are not as good as they sound.(I ordered a veggie panini that turned out to be 95% cheese and soggy, for example.) That being said, it beats Dunks if you have the time to stop. Service ranges from unremarkable to downright rude. A group of employees there once actually had the nerve to make fun of me after THEY misheard me on the telephone. It was embarrassing and unnecessary to make fun of me for their mistake, and I almost stopped going their entirely after that. Their menu touts«delivery available» but if you try to get food delivered, they hit you with a TWELVE dollar delivery charge, which I’ve never heard of ANY business doing. If they want to add a catering charge, that’s fine, but call it «catering» not«delivery»! EDIT: A few days after posting this review I got a email from someone who worked there saying«Sorry that you had a bad experience, BRUCE. Hopefully you’ll try us again.» So now I’m a little more turned off that the staff is copying and pasting apology emails without even bothering to fine-tune the facts or change the name. For shame.

I hit this place for breakfast on occasion. Used to be really good coffee. However, service here is amazingly slow. Yesterday, upon arrival, a counter worker simply stared at me for a good minute before walking away. Eventually, my order was taken and food delivered. But that gal who stared at me was odd. Coffee isn’t as good as in the past. I had a very bitter cup I couldn’t finish. Even tried dumping it and refilling, thinking I’d get a different flavor and that would help. Nope… it was worse. I’m scratching this from my list, I think. It looks cute, but it’s really a little below average.

Grabbed breakfast with some friends here. It was good but nothing special. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel was pretty good but the main flavor I could taste was salt and the eggs were microwaved. Not my favorite breakfast sandwich but still better than a Dunkin Donuts one. My friends said the coffee was good. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here again but if other people wanted to I wouldn’t argue.

Usually, I can depend on a good hot cup of coffee there. They have a nice variety of flavors and all the fixens! This time it wasn’t the coffee that dissapointed me. It was the cashier, that overcharged me! For a Tuna Sandwich and 1 water, it came to $ 9.37? I didn’t notice this until I finished eating my sandwich. By then, the line was longer and I didnt’ have time to wait. Maybe it was just a mistake on her part, but I didnt’ appreciate being ripped off like that. Johnny W.
