Barrel 33

Almost forgot to leave a rave review about Barrel 33… We had an amazing dinner and wine here a few nights ago and will definitely be back soon! The pesto pasta with chicken and chicken alfredo was absolutely amazing! We couldn’t decide on which wine to have so we tried several (they offer flights of wine!?!) and they were all amazing! Our waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable and help guide us on our culinary and wine journey. We can’t wait to come back and try some other delicious dishes and new wines! We definitely recommend Barrel 33!!!

This place seems to be good for any type of weather. I went there on a rainy Sunday evening and enjoyed the cozy, dark interior. You can tell the patio areas are fantastic on nicer days. Many great pairing suggestions. The one we chose was great. The inside is rather small, so if you have a large group (more than 6) it would probably have to be outside. I’m looking forward to going again.

Delicious dinner, fabulous ambiance and truly exceptional service. What a wonderful evening! We will definitely be back.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our Monkiversary (we met exactly 10 years ago this week) at Barrel 33 for a beautiful dinner. Gerardo was our waiter. He was very friendly and helpful in helping us choose (such great options). We tried the avocado honey draft beer. It had a subtle flavor of avocado and a hint of honey creating the right combo for a tasty and rich flavored wheat beer.
For dinner we shared amazing garlic bread sprinkled with the perfect amount of parmessan cheese followed by a bowl of Russian Penne chicken pasta and a Ventura thin crust pizza. All of it mouth watering and down right addicting (we over ate but we couldn’t help ourselves, it was well worth it. Besides, it would’ve been a sin to leave so much as a morsel of such tasty delights behind!). The atmosphere was just right. Highly recommend Barrel 33! We are definitely when we get back to this area.

This place was the absolute best!!! Great little hole in the wall in Ventura with one of the best servers! If you go make sure you get Dan! He gives great suggestions and knew what he was talking about! I will definitely be back! Dan you are the man! Thank you for your amazing service!!!

I went here for a girls night (about 10 of us ladies enjoying a random Thursday night out in Ventura.) 5 stars for food and drinks!
However, 1 star for inappropriate stereotyping comments (maybe jokes?). About half of the women in our group left believing offensive comments had been made toward women by the owner. I think the owner was trying to be funny, but each time he made a joke our faces gave feedback that we didn’t appreciate his humor. Even with this feedback, the comments continued. He said something to the effect of how he was sure we’d change our minds multiple times after ordering because we were women and that’s what women did… before we had even started ordering. Maybe he was trying to be funny, but these women-​stereotyping comments (another about us not knowing where his country would be on a map without telling us the country) convinced more and more of us that, despite the amazing food, we could not give a man who assumed women are dumb and indecisive (even if in jest) our money.
Sadly, as we’ve looked for future girls night locations, we have refused to return out of our convictions to the disappointment of our bellies… dang the food and wine were really good.

We had a great Valentines date here! The Prix Fixe menu was tasty, but the ambiance was the real attraction. The crackling fire inside and the romantic patio outside make for a delightful date night. The service was excellent! I recommend the cheese plate and the chocolate dessert was delicious. I am not an expert, but we enjoyed the wine pairings with each dish. I would highly recommend for any pairing or group of adults that want a relaxed evening of intimate conversation.

Enjoyed the Valentine’s Day dinner they offered this weekend and While Reminiscing on mine and SO previous Valentine’s dinners and I’ve got to say this one is the best. This is one of my favorite places! The owner is awesome, the wine is great, it has the perfect relaxed ambiance, service is always great and the Chocolate Soufflé is ah-​may-​zing, oh and don’t forget some espresso to top of your night!

So we were walking around the area on our visit to Ventura. Seen this place, and just had to check it out. Very friendly and inviting from the start. Service was absolutely wonderful .
We decided to experiment with the different offers of tap. You fill in the numbers of what you want to sample. How fun, and great price at that ! My favorite would have to be the ciders. So many options though.
On our next visit I plan to try few new flavors. I might add the chips and guacamole are yummy!
Loved the atmosphere, casual and fun.

What a charming place to go on a summer evening, sit out on the patio with friends and enjoy a glass of wine.
My cousins and I trekked down Thompson Blvd one evening because apparently I didn’t realize how far it really was from my house and once we got there were more than happy to rest our tired feet and settled in for a nice stay.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place, the staff were friendly the wine was good and the ambiance was inviting, what more could you ask for?

This place is amazing and the path is huge and the service is INSANELY good.
I recommend the tapenade and the soufflé is ridiculous!
Definitely coming back and will become a regular!
