Had a fantastic time Saturday night celebrating the 150th anniversary of Ventura. Great Wine selections, great service, and the audience actually listened to the musicians! Music by Jodi Farrell and her bass player, and then one of her students, Scott Burrell. Great night. It was my first time, but not my last.

My boyfriend and I used the $ 10 for $ 20 deal. It was great. I enjoyed a few glasses and he had a flight and a craft beer. The owner was really nice and welcoming. We will be back there again.

Came to meet up with friends yesterday. Sat in the corner and listened to some live music. Our table was dirty and went unnoticed by the bartender which was weird since she was standing right there taking our order. I just brushed it off(figuratively and literally). A man at the bar had to tell her to rinse his glass out before pouring the wine since it was different wine. Kind of rookie to not have done that naturally. She was very nice though. The entertainer forgot his lyrics a couple of times and just completely stopped. Yikes! Really awkward! Dead silence with him staring into space. My daughter knew by age 5, ya just keep singing whatever… She once won a talent show singing the same verse twice. A nice spot to have some good wine. Just needs to be wiped down more often and more training for the bartender.

They have a nice selection of wines. Wish they had more organic or zero sulfites though. The atmosphere is light and friendly. The staff seemed courteous and while not top shelf on their knowledge of wine, they knew enough to point us in the right direction.

Incredible ambiance. Excellent service and the entertainment was perfect for the evening. I suggest anyone looking for a venue to enjoy the moment to come by. Ask for Keith and Danielle to sing and string.

This place was empty when we came to check out their Happy Hour before dinner. They have happy hour every day from 4−7pm. They don’t actually have food although they do have the option of ordering out pizza which I think they just deliver to you inside their restaurant and you pay them. We got mimosas and a glass of wine and enjoyed ourselves in the cute wine bar. Their house pinot on special was ok. The mimosas were pretty strong actually. We also ordered hummus which was 4 bucks and it was pretty good with some yummy crackers. Their happy hour appetizers were just cheese and charcutarie it seemed and it was pretty pricey like around 15 bucks. If you want a fun loungey place to drink and hang out this is your place. I wouldn’t come here if you’re hungry necessarily. They also have live music which we missed but I bet that definitely draws a crowd!

This place is a hidden gem. A bit of an older crowd but the cute young man working there was super friendly! Great prices and a decent wine selection. Would come back again when I’m in town. Great live music too!

Always love coming to this lounge. The wine choices and cheese plates are always delicious and never a let down. The employees are super friendly, and I always have a great time talking with them. Definitely one of my favorite places for a good glass of wine.

Big fan! Darcy and Martine are very welcoming– and they know their wine! Good bottled beers too! Almost european style, light snacks and great wine. I usually take advantage of Happy Hour, but live music or comedy usually starts at 8 or 9 — I plan to make it one of these days. Sounds like a great way to end an evening!

First of all YES. Wine alone sucks. Right? It’s about sharing. The better the company the better the wine tastes. Darci is the owner, staff friendly, vibe casual. Take someone special. Unplug, unwind, recharge with a good glass nice people and new friends. Under new ownership so there may be some bumps but they know it and make up for it with service and maybe a hefty pour. Don’t quote me on it just be respectful of a new business with a great. Vice and fantastic staff. It’s about small business owners folks. Go support them. After l who doesn’t like a good wine? And a good rack? Go to the wine rack. And be nice and tip your server well. ;)

We had wonderful conversation last night with Martine behind the bar and the other patrons. There was a solo acoustic act playing on a little stage, adding to the cozy friendly vibe. Not to mention Martine picked my wine taste perfectly after I gave him only a few vague hints on my flavor preferences. We’re looking forward to returning to The Wine Rack soon!

We love this spot! We like to treat our out of town friends to cool Ventura restaurants and handouts, and the Wine Rack is the perfect place for wine, appetizers and socializing before dinner. Great atmosphere, many good wine choices, and I love the flites of red or white with a choice of the types you favor! Very unique. And so reasonable too at $ 10! We often go wine tasting in Paso, Sonoma and Napa, pay a fortune for much less! Stopped in last night and got to meet Martine, who was our knowledgeable and VERY personable host. We’re looking forward to getting in for the live music next time.

Darcy is great. She welcomed us the moment we arrived and made us feel welcome. In town from Redondo Beach and go figure, someone here from Redondo. Made a new friend! Full of fun people. I told the owner what type of wine I like. She had me try 2 diff types/tastes. I told her big, fruity red. Bam, got it on 2nd try. Highly recommend this place.

This place has a great vibe. Nice wine by the glass or bottle, live music, and the fine folk from Ventura — awesome. My party of four ordered a Cab blend from Walla Walla Washington, and it was very very very good. I mean very! Hummus and Cheese plates would normally get my attention, but I just ate at Café Fiore next door(dang it!). Mark Heyes and band(Phil Salazar and Chad Watson) were terrific, and were so nice. I know they wanted me on stage to sing and play bongos, but alas, there was only enough room for three. Plus, I would take up all the space with my gyrations. Congrats to new owner, Darcy, she’s lovely — wishing her much success!

This was my favorite place we found in Ventura. We were staying close by and decided to do a little hopping around Main Street, when we ended up here. We ended up staying at the bar, sipping wine and chatting with the locals and owner until near-closing. The décor is cozy and comfortable. There are sofas and sitting areas to make it feel like a cool lounge, yet also homey. An older couple looking to be on date night sat in the back by themselves, whispering to each other and looking to enjoy being in their own world. I could tell it was a perfect choice for an intimate date, to relax with some sips, or to socialize. We had a few glasses of wine and the salmon pizza, which we were VERY happy with. The owner gave us some recommendations for where to go afterward and for the rest of our trip, came outside after me to give me my forgotten credit card, and kept my forgotten sweater for us to pick up the next day(what can I say? There had been a lot of wine!) I loved everything about this place… the service, the food and drinks, and the atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

The new owners/management at The Wine Rack brings this place way up. The wine list has improved, there is a lot more variety, and a happy hour to top things off. My first trip(and consequently review) was good, but upon my second visit I realized I was too quick to give them four stars. Thus, I wanted to update my review for those who have not visited The Wine Rack with the new owners/management there. If you were turned off before, give them another chance. I hope you’ll be as happy as I am that I did. Cheers!

We had an hour wait for a table at Lure the other night, so my friend and I went to Wine Rack for a drink. I had the Zinfandel Flight and she had another red flight but it is escaping me right now. At any rate, we both loved our selections, and especially enjoyed the friendly demeanor of the hostess who served us. She gave us a lot of background info on the wines when we asked and when our table at Lure was suddenly ready before our 3rd and final flight tasting, she said she’d remember us and to just come back after dinner. Which we did! They had live music by then, a mellow guitar/vocalist and it was lovely! I can’t wait to come back — what a great little friendly place to hang out. And the wine selection/prices are terrific.

Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Started out walking in, unsure of the venue, and walked out very happy with the service, selection off the menu and the establishment as a whole. Ordered two glasses — not a red fan, but the server helped pick one that would be easy and I ended up enjoying it.
