Came here on an impromptu date night with my hubby. Well… we had our toddler daughter… but we still made it out of the house. I was looking forward to this dining experience because I had heard some really good things about this place. The menu was unique. Filled with lots of different options for varying palates. I decided on the«chefs special» which was clams and mussels in a white wine sauce. It was overly salty and covered in some fried potatoes or onions which really didn’t make sense with the dish. I just picked them off and put them aside. Husband had the burger which was tasty, and our daughter had the chicken satay. She loved the sauce, but thankfully my husband was cutting up the chicken and noticed it was pink in the middle prior to giving it to her. We sent it back and they cooked up a new order, but our poor toddler didn’t understand why her food went away! They also made a mistake on our drink order. Waitress was friendly and bubbly, but didn’t offer any remedies for the mistakes. Would like to try the sushi, but I am unsure if we will be back.

Loco moco not very good. Frozen flavorless beef patty, tiny amount of aloha(rice) and not enough gravy for the dry meat. Ok at $ 5 – 6 but no way is it worth $ 10!

A good experience here. My Fiancée and I came here on what turned out to be a particularly busy Saturday. We were seated within a few minutes of coming in, but not really attended to for the first 10 minutes of our arrival beyond having the perfunctory water. In that time, we got to soak up the décor in this cozy space(classed up Pacific Islander). The lighting was low which made what would otherwise be a small space, seem a bit more intimate. What is at conflict, is how loud it was. The service was decent and the food, once we got to order was pretty solid, though not terribly memorable. And given that the bill(with only one cocktail between us) was on the higher side, I would like to remember what it was that I ate. I would like to come back to this place, though, as I left with a smile on my face, but only a vague memory of what was so great.

We went here for happy hour on Sunday. We had the sushi hand rolls($ 4 and $ 5). Not the best quality but great treat for the price. They make them with a lot of fish so you’re not getting ripped off. I loved jazz night. They had different people rotate for the piano, drums and vocals. Was fun to watch people from all different walks of life perform for a very entertained and fun crowd. Would return for happy hour. Their waiting staff is also very charming and quick.

We came to Tommy O’s for my birthday dinner at the end of November. I am not a fan of Hawaiian food, but my family is, and I do like trying new places, so we made reservations and gave it a go. At first I was very disheartened by the menu as I wasn’t sure that anything sounded good. But the low lights and peaceful live Christmas music set such a wonderful, festive and relaxing mood that I couldn’t help but be happy. We ordered an appetizer, drinks and meals for the five of us. Everything was cooked well and seasoned perfectly for all five of us(rarely do we all enjoy our meals and the calamari and shrimp were even cooked right!). The owner, Tommy, even came by our table to find out how everything was — a VERY nice touch. Appetizer: aloha sampler w/calamari steak, truffle fries and pork spring rolls Meals: Me: Island style beef w/sweet chili sauce(don’t be scared by the brown rice, it’s amazing!) Kid: Veggie stir fry Hubs: chicken Katsu Parents: coconut shrimp, fish and chips

Tommy O’s has a great happy hour menu! I had a hard time deciding what to order because everything on the happy hour menu sounded great. I ended up ordering the happy hour pulled pork nachos and fish tacos. Both entrees were delicious! The nachos are enough to share with someone. My boyfriend ordered the happy hour teriyaki burger and chicken skewers. The chicken skewers only come with two small chicken skewers. The burger was a good size though! We will be going back to try more on their menu. It is a loud atmosphere during happy hour. We came in around 5 on a Friday night and we were able to get a table for 5 people immediately.

The menu looks enticing, at a price point where you would expect to be thrilled. Unfortunately, it was about as mediocre-tasting as could be. Benedict: The pulled pork was good, and the potatoes were yummy, but the hollandaise sauce was little more than melted butter, and the poached eggs were so over-cooked, they might as well have been hard-boiled. $ 14! The King Kam promised Portuguese sausage, but came out with 3 tiny nibbles. The peas and carrots were obviously out of a bag of frozen vegetables, and the sauce was likely store-bought Teriyaki. $ 11! The staff was friendly, but the food(for the price) woefully inadequate. Disappointing: we live right down the street. :(

I came here early one Sunday morning, while waiting to meet some other folks in the nearby Vancouver Hilton. I went for the Loco Moco, and was able to substitute fried rice for the steamed rice that normally accompanies this meal. It was a great choice. Lots of other Asian and Hawaiian-influenced choices on the menu. The place was pretty full, and glancing around I saw lots of things I’d like to try if I’m back in the area again. Service was quick, friendly and efficient.

I had dinner at Tommy Os last night for the first time last night. We started off with an order of fried calamari and lobster pot stickers, both were nothing short of amazing. For my main course, I had the calamari steak sandwich which was the absolute best I have ever had. No question, the next time I’m in the Portland/Vancouver area, I will return to Tommy Os, one of the best restaurants I have been to recently.

This is truly our favorite place for a happy hour menu. Kelly, the manager, makes sure everything runs smoothly. We have always had wonderful service and absolutely great food. My husband ads«the beer is good too!» Our favorite appetizers during happy hour are the calamari, the coconut shrimp, and my favorite is the Hawaiian pork quesadilla. We can’t say enough about how Kelly manages the place! She is actively there greeting people, clearing tables, seating people, and making sure her wait staff is taken care of. We have had very professional, friendly and great service from Sarah and from Amanda.

I took some family here tonight. The service was kind, prompt, and left nothing to be desired. I ordered seared ahi on lobster risotto. My companions got fish and chips, and grilled halibut. The food was great. Beverages were consistently refilled, and the happiness-level checked in on. I’m a fish o-fishyanado. The reason for 4 stars is only the inconsistent temp through my ahi. Will visit again!

Staisha(spelling) was our server! Started off with the lobster pot stickers! Amazing! Then had the ahi steak and the halu(spelling?) fish with the roasted sesame and it was even better! We were all in awe with how great all of the fish and lobster risotto was! Staisha was our waitress and she was awesome! When she told us her Spiel, she mentioned the special and then let us know what the soup of the day was as well. It did seem as though the soup came with the special so when my mom ordered the special she assumed that she was getting soup too. Staisha let her know that it wasn’t included but instantly acknowledged that it was misleading the way she announced it and brought the soup as a courtesy with out question. Awesome waitress! This place surprised me with the above quality food and service!

I like to go here for the Sunday Jazz Jam, good happy hour food whenever we’ve been here. So, we figured we’d go here for dinner, we did and it was like night and day from our past experiences here. In the islands people pride themselves on their rice cooking skills, how so many flavors can be found in one food is truly amazing, but, Tommy’s crew seems to fall flat on this score as the rice was so bad as to be inedible. The Chicken I had was dry and tasteless, my wife had the coconut shrimp, they were OK but we left hungry nonetheless. Sixty five dollars with tip, the prices were right but not in line with the quality. I never complain about the money when eating out, good food SHOULD cost more than eating in, but Tommy, you need to raise the bar for your cook staff. I’ll be coming back for the music, but dinner? Never again.

First time visiting this place. The reviews on Unilocal were spot on. The ambience was fantastic and the service even better. I just ordered appetizers; the fish soup, coconut shrimp and calamari steak that looked like a chicken breast. The shrimps were so tasty and crunchy. The fish soup was simply phenomenal and the calamari steak was crunchy and yet tender with lots of flavor. My server Zen was very friendly and super fast. The food takes absolutely no time to come out, so pace yourself or be stuffed! This is a jewel no doubt, I’ll be back!

I went into Tommy’s place yesterday with my fiancé and his family. We had reservations for 7. Our server Zen was rude, she would talk over our conversations and when the older woman that was with us didn’t hear her(poor hearing) she snapped at her,“IMTALKINGTOYOU.” At one point, she reached over my fiancé, mid bite to take his glass and knocked the food off his fork without saying so much as oops. She was thoughtless, rude and pushy the entire time. Everyone had one of those Hawaiian coffees with liquor after their meal and call us nerds but we all wanted to stay a minute and have a glass or two of water. The servers began pointing at us and saying they wanted to seat people at our table but had to wait. And instead of pushing two tables together for the other larger party as they did for us, they made them stand and wait. It was awkward because we we’re still considering desserts and there were about 4 servers eye balling us, and somewhere around 8 customers getting clearly fed up. I saw a server eating in the kitchen and wiping her mouth with her hand before picking up someone’s plate of food DISGUSTING. Even if she did manage to magically wash her hands where there was no sink, she would have only washed them for 4 seconds. The entire experience was poor. The food was not worth the trouble nor was its price. I say go to the cute little Tigers garden place near the Hilton(Thai). Or get a gas station sandwich, at least the cost is worth the level of customer service. Bleh syoy Edit: Zen, our server was ready to burn our table to get us out within 30 seconds of finishing our meals even after getting a 35 dollar tip :/

I have been on a tremendous poke kick lately! I was excited to find a great Hawaiian place in Vancouver. They seem to have a great happy hour menu, but we arrived shortly after it ended. I ordered the edamame to start. I wish the edamame was served warm & salted. I am just not a fan of cold edamame. It tends to break up in my mouth. For dinner, of course, I ordered the poke and an order of unagi(eel) nigiri. The poke was deliciously fresh and perfectly seasoned. I appreciate poke when I can still taste the tuna(quality!) and it’s not overly saucey. The portion is somewhat small but I am not a big eater. The unagi nigiri was good(not great) and a great way to end my main course. For dessert, I had the key lime pie tart. This was delicious. I am normally a big fan of key lime. So this key lime had some big expectations to live up to. Unfortunately, as tasty as it was, I felt like the ratio was off. Too much cream/frosting, not enough tartness lime filling. I felt that it was sweeter than it should’ve been. Overall, great spot for dinner. I would definitely come back often if I lived in the area.

Tommy O’s is one of my fave places for breakfast/brunch when I am in town. Why? They have AMAZING King Kam Fried Rice for breakfast. How amazing is it? I had four people order it the last trip I went to, and there was not one grain of rice left on their plate. Yes, that amazing. It comes with everything you could want in a Hawaiian fried rice. Portuguese sausage, bacon, peas, carrots, and wilted spinach. Two eggs on top any way you want it(I love it over easy so it oooooozes all over the rice). My friend ended up getting the breakfast quesadilla and raved how much she loved it. Be warned though – if you get the kiddies a grilled cheese, it does come on sourdough. Still good – but different for picky eaters. Next time I come up I’ll come on a weekend so I can take full advantage of their fresh raspberry jam and their fried doughnut-things.

Tommy O’s was Tommy So-So’s … but I am thankful for Aloha Hour(Happy Hour) discounts. * Teriyaki Burger($ 5) … Dry patty, but basic burger(3 stars) * Coconut Crunchy Shrimp($ 5) … 3 Shrimp & so-so sauce(3 stars) * Hawaiian Meatballs($ 5) … Sweet and meaty(3 stars) * Pork Spring Rolls($ 4) … Fried, but served cold(2 stars) * Kalbi Ribs($ 4) … Little tough for galbi(2 stars) * 1 $ off Draft Beer … Ice cold 20oz glass mug(4 stars) Olivia Z. and me were stuffed, but there’s plenty more of Aloha Hour to try on our next visit: * Kalua Pork Quesadilla($ 4) * Crispy Fries($ 2) * Kalua Pork Nachos($ 6) * Fish Tacos($ 4) * Tempura Veggies($ 4) * Edamame($ 2) * Pork Lettuce Wraps($ 7) * Fish & Chips($ 5) * Chicken Skewers($ 4) Service was outstanding from start to finish. There was only one other table of customers, so, it was spooky quiet, but we actually had a comfortable conversation while nibbling on the Happy Hour bites and sipping a local IPA. Thanks to the friendly service and Aloha Hour deals, Tommy O’s Pacific Rim Bistro will be a part of our regular downtown Vancouver, WA happy hour rotation.

Being in Vancouver today, I wanted to try one of the newer restaurants without going to a Thai or Chinese place so I settled on Tommy O’s. First off it has a great space and they really made it look as authentic as possible with the Hawaiian theme. The place had one table in it with people as I arrived a little after 11:30. I was sat at a two top in the middle of the floor which is not my favorite. The service seemed disjointed as I ordered Loco Moco and she left the menu on the table there, prompting another server 10 minutes later ask if I had ordered yet? The bowl of Loco Moco came out and it had one of the worst plate presentations I have seen. I ordered over easy and the eggs were barley poached let alone over easy. Look at the picture. It also had no seasoning what so ever. I don’t see a need to return here.
