This is my go to place in Vancouver. Amazing fried chicken, delicious cocktails & a great beer selection! Brianna is the best bartender in the couv!

Pretty disappointed in this place every time I have been here. The service is mediocre and drinks really aren’t my style. Their tap list is lacking as well. They do have excellent food but it’s kind of tainted by the fact that you have to go to the bar to order ANYTHING, even soda. I ordered a diet coke one time and the bartender bussing tables came by and told me if I brought my glass up to the bar she would refill it for me. Um, okay? The cooks are about the only people in this place who are actually nice. The bartenders/people behind the bar always act like they have something better to do than serve customers. Spend your money elsewhere in downtown Vancouver, some place who will be much more appreciative of your patronage.

Yeah, I dig this spot. Been here three times and have had great banter and service from the two different bartenders that have served me. Solid prices and a great locally sourced menu. It’s pretty small in here, so I wouldn’t come with a big group or unwilling to share long tables. Perfect for a nightcap with the husband!

DT Vancouver needed a solid late/dive bar. Low Bar is what DT really needed. They have s great selection of craft beers with several shit beer options as well. Occasionally there speciality cocktails are a bust so stick with beer or go to cocktails. Food is a standard bar menu and the potatoe jojos are popular(not my jam… but ppl love’em).

Hot Tip: It’s order at the bar. So… order at the bar Came here on a Sunday night. I didn’t know Sunday night trivia was a thing. Therefore there were no seats. Got a drink anyway and waited at the bar and eventually something opened up. They had 7 or so taps, and so so much liquor! I got Chicken and Waffles, my friend got the Meatloaf. They had some burgers and other stuff too but I’ve had some good times with a Chicken and Waffle. Not this time. Chicken was pretty dry and the grease tasted old. Waffle was a waffle. Got just 1 cup of syrup. The meatloaf looked really good though!

Food was awesome! The staff were super cool and informative. We heard they received less stars due to ordering at the bar. We loved everything about the spot. We will definitely be back and bring our friends.

They have Sunday night trivia and it’s seriously a blast, five rounds with ten questions, as well as a drawing part and a song part. Seating is a little limited so if you plan with a group, attempt to arrive before 7 as to reserve a table.

I heard from a few locals this was the place to get some good craft beer, so I figured I’d call and see what they have before I made the drive. Unfortunately that didn’t work out as planned. The girl that answered the phone quickly told me the tap list and when I asked what they had for bottles or cans she hung up on me. It wasn’t a mistake either I called back and got sent to voice mail. F U too low bar I’ll spend my money at some other place since you clearly don’t need my business or referrals.

Great, laid back place off of the beaten bath. I’ve been there a few times for happy hour(excellent pours), and have sampled a few menu items(the breakfast biscuit with JoJos was tasty). Only downside was that it has an open air kitchen, so sometimes the smoke is a bit thick making it hard to breathe. I’ll definitely go back.

«A Pleasant and Delicious Surprise« My wife and I went to Vancouver Washington last week and were hungry for some food. We asked the Local people at our hotel, «Where do you like to eat? «All of the people said, » go to the Low Bar, It has great Food, Beers and cocktails«. So we did go to the Low Bar and Wow, we were very happy we did. Chole the Bar tender was very nice as she took our order for a a Cheeseburger and a Ruben Sandwich. We also ordered a local craft beer which was delicious. The Kitchen Staff of Wade and Justin, prepared our meals very well. My wife had the Huge Cheeseburger which was yummy. My Ruben Sandwich was so tender, and the house made spicy catsup was delicious with the large French Fries. Nate the Owner and Manager was so nice as he came over to our table to see how our meal was. A great place to visit for Food and Drinks if you are in Vancouver Washington.

I’m torn on this place. I don’t frequent this bar unless I’m attending an event at Esther Short Park. I don’t care to order at the counter of any location. I prefer to be serviced tableside… I do like how ridiculously cheap their happy hour is and there is usually a fairly decent selection on tap. The food can be fantastic or a major disappointment. The last time I visited was with a group of 6. We all ordered the grilled cheese. Mine came out first — completely black. Charred beyond recognition. The next 5 came out each with just a little bit less char until the final one that was perfectly grilled. It was tragic.

Very cool vibe. Friendly bartenders. Helped us decide where to live in the area(we recently moved from California). Good selection of beer.

Walked into this bar and was immediately impressed. Then the service at the bar was nothing less than insulting. Apparently the gals at the bar have a hard time understanding how to be friendly. The first bartender made us feel completely unwelcome. We were jovial but she was nothing less than annoyed. Then a new blonde bartender took her shift. I believe I high fived a friend and yelled enthusiastically to him. I a was then literally… accused of «whooping» it up and told to quiet down. We left and later ran into a mother and daughter couple also in attendance who agreed the service was rude. Great atmosphere and good drinks. Maybe the ownership can work with their staff to creat a more friendly experience.

Disappointed. Went for lunch excited for chicken and waffles and it wasn’t on the menu. Upon check out learned they would make it if we had asked. Really? Just keep it on the menu then. The Reubens were ok nothing great. Order at the bar? We were the only ones there at noon on a Tuesday. The e place was beyond dead. They couldn’t walk three steps to take our order? Skip it. There are better places downtown.

*Worst Bloody Marys Anywhere* Order at the Bar people, this is not a difficult concept. You get up off your lazy butts walk an entire 15ft at the most and order for your table. The payoff, you’re at the bar so you can order a drink directly from the bartender! Been here 3 times now and the visits have varied considerably. This is a brunch/hangover spot we go to when we’re in Portland visiting our best cousin. I love Bloody Marys, Red Eyes, Peter Abbotts, etc. with a passion. I have, however, managed to find quite possibly the worst Mary west of our Galaxy. Their«mix» is orange and has a very odd flavor and texture. Yes texture. Almost like wood pulp. Not pleasant at all. It is spicy however. But not in a good way. This pretty much means that not only do I NOT get to enjoy a Bloody Mary to ease my morning misery, but I cannot have a Red Beer either. They use the same crappy mix for their beer as well. Their food helps their score a bit. I have had the Corned Beef Hash, a Reuben, and Chicken n’ Waffles. 1. Corned Beef Hash is great. Right amount of Beef and very flavorful. Definite go-to item. 2. Their Reuben was way too greasy for me. If something is too greasy when you’re hungover, it’s too greasy period. 3. The Chicken and Waffles I tried once and was not impressed. Chicken was dry and flavorless. The waffles were waffles, nothing to write home about. I’m one of those people who don’t get the whole Chicken and Waffles thing. It’s Chicken on a Waffle, that’s it. What really gets me are the Jo-Jos. Supposedly popular, they are fat steak fries coated in a gritty corn meal batter and fried. I’m not a fan of steak fries at all and when they’re covered in a hard gritty shell, I’m not a happy camper. They don’t have another fry on the menu so that’s also off the table for me so to speak. There are still items for me to try on future trips, so there is still hope. I just wish that enough people would say something to their staff about their BM Mix so they’d change it. All in all, I come here for the company of my family who like this place. The CB Hash is legit enough that I won’t complain to them, but there’s nothing else at The Low Bar that does it for me(Except for the«Order at the Bar Controversy» of course).

Consistently of quality. That is the easiest way to talk about this Downtown Vancouver establishment. It is inconspicuous, for certain. But once you enter through the door you are greeted with what is simply put a «cool» establishment. The overall aesthetic is very relaxed, slightly dark and feels«GenX working class». It is a place where you know you are not going to have to worry about someone screeching a karaōke version of Katie Perry while you are drinking one of the many beers they have on tap, and you can enter knowing that the food you are about to eat is not some variant of «We can fry that too». I am in no way opposed to deep fried anything, but Low Bar is not catering to what you are not opposed to, but what you are coming to expect from businesses such as this. Their food is top notch(the house burger is perfectly prepared) and service is speedy. Be aware that you need to order at the bar when you come in, several Unilocalers have already spoken to this, but just to remind you. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a relaxed meal and beer experience without having to head to PDX.

Saw all of the great reviews and wanted to try. But it was not our thing. I do not like the corn meal in the fried chicken and jojo batter. I like crunch but not a crunch like that, it doesn’t go away. The baked beans are made with a lot of vinegar. The feel of the place was moderately inviting. More tables and chair atmosphere It is fresh food, but not my thing.

120 reviews for a place in the Couve is equal to probably 8 times as many south of the Interstate bridge. In other words; if you are near here, get in here. I had the roasted veggie sammy. It was an excellent sammy that while simple, I know I could never quite copy at home. It came with some pretty darn legit potato salad. I would not be shocked to find out it was house-made. I washed it down with just water this time. Beer at lunch=sleeping pill for me. They do feature a dish called Shit on a Shingle. go ahead, if you will. Probably a big step up from what the government served me back in them days. Try some; we can compare notes. Although this was my first visit, I’m thinking it will be my first of many.

What a fun bar to hang out in! Love the funky eclectic interior & mix of communal tables and bar tables. My hubby & I had some delicious cocktails(I loved the Marianne Taylor & Ester Bushman) with our fried chicken & jojo’s. It tasted like there was millet in the coating? The chicken was tender and moist & I loved the dipping sauce. We then split the bulggogi tacos which were pretty good. The bulggogi tacos from KOI are better seasoned and tastier. Great place to catch a hawks game!

Absolutely, love this place. Been here twice and Chloe was our bartender both times. She is fabulous. The bloody Mary is delicious. It’s a homemade mix you’ve never had before. Both times I’ve had the wilted spinach salad. This is why the 4 stars. It wasn’t consistent. The first chef Justin made it prefect. The second chef wade, it was just okay. Very greasy and overly covered in panchetta and nuts. :-( My husband had the Reuben is second time and burger the first, both fabulous. . We will be back. Maybe I’ll try something new next time.
