I just wanted to post an update on this since Midas took it upon theirselves to try and «make things right» so that I would change my review. I will now provide the entire story with all of the details just to let anyone that might be considering this establishment know how exactly they operate.
I brought my 2001 jeep that has just hit 100,000 miles, had every singe service done on it to simply get brakes. I was told this would be ready in a couple of hours. After not hearing from them hours after it was supposed to be done, I called them. They stated it would be ready any minute, come get it. As I pull in to the parking lot, my jeep is also pulling into the parking lot with what looked like smoke,(probably steam) bellowing from the engine compartment under the hood. I get out of the car and walk over and ask them what in the world they have done to my jeep. Mark states «Nothing, they just forgot to put the radiator cap back on.» So it spewed radiator fluid all over everything. I asked them to please clean it. They do this and as they are pulling it out to return it to me (I paid while they were cleaning it up) something else is wrong, so they pull it back into the bay. The put it on the lift and pull all the wheels back off and are racing around to figure out what is wrong (it’s almost 6pm by this point). As I watch this, I decide that I don’t want them rushing with my brakes. I politely tell them to just keep it, get some rest and start again tomorrow. Mark thanks me and tells me it will be ready by the time I get off work at 2pm the next day.
3pm the next day, I show up to pick up my jeep. At this point I am informed that they had to replace all 4 calipers, they ALL locked up. So I call my mechanic. He said he has never in his entire career (40 years) seen all 4 lock up… and at the same time for that. So I tell Mark that I find this hard to believe. He assures me it happened. With that aside, they did this work without my consent. Never called me, just did it. So I stated I was not paying for this. Mark obliged me, what choice did he have on unauthorized work and I had already paid for the brake service. So this brings me to my first review… That is when I wrote it…
After this, the jeep was making a super weird noise. Like a bubbly sound from the dash on the drivers side, this went on a day and then it overheated. I called my mechanic because there was no way I was bringing it to midas, he asked me to drive it to him. So I bring it to him and guess what!!! I have a blown head gasket. Coincidental, Nah.
By this point I am just fuming and I have washed my hands of midas… I just left it alone.
So the reason for this update: Tyler from Midas calls me yesterday to inform me that the guy who worked on my car has been fired and he wants to make things right. He asked what he can do to make it right. I explained the story to him and he stated that he had not heard about the radiator cap, he needed to speak to Mark and would call me back. So right before 5 a day later, I call to see if he had gotten the story from Mark. I would have figured he would have called me back like he said. Tyler stated that Mark doesn’t think there is anyway that they caused a blown head gasket from driving it around the block without the radiator cap on (or any fluid for that matter). I said of course he doesn’t, and he said uh huh. That was the end of that conversation. So my point, they do really bad work in a untimely manner, cause damage to your vehicle, dont return calls and just blow you off if they know they are in the wrong.
Shouldn’t have called me if you weren’t willing to make it right, Tyler. And then at least have the decency to call me back, even if you arent going to do the right thing and don’t feel at fault. I fully understand that in the moment it was driven around the block without the radiator cap on «might not have caused the blown head»…However I am sure it caused the air bubble which in return caused the blown head gasket I have accepted that I am out the money to rebuild the top end of the motor your business caused the damage to.

I stopped in because my Volvo V70’s dash was indicating that my brake fluid was dangerously low. Marc came out and checked under the hood, then walked around with a flashlight to check each and every wheel. He filled up the brake fluid and sent me on the way with a friendly handshake. Good guy. Good place. Thank you Midas.

BEWARE!
I took my car in for an oil change and brake light replacement a couple of months ago. Within in minutes of hitting the road, I had to turn around because the brake light failed immediately. They advised I needed new tires, but not immediately.
My car hasn’t been driving very well lately and before I took it in, a friend looked at it in order to save me some money. Come to find out Midas had overfilled the tires when they rotated and checked them and now they are bulging and all 4 have to be replaced immediately.
I hope they didn’t sabotage my tires on purpose in order to get me to replace them sooner, but the conspiracy theorist in me wonders (just slightly).
STAY AWAY!

How many stars does a business get after they have lied to a client…
The good: they get me in, they change my oil, they haven’t raised their price since last year.
The bad: they lied to me that I was missing an inside air filter. (I am not sure I am writing the lingo correctly but that’s the best I can describe it right now without looking at the actual paperwork). Well, I’ve got a dad who’s a mechanic himself. Hahahaha! Midas people. He went straight to the place where that filter lives in my car and there it is! Ta-​da! Miracle! It’s there! Nothing even wrong with it. So… They couldn’t get me on this one. But next time I am going to look for a different place.

Stopped in after my car started leaking coolant to have them run diagnostics on it. Ended up being a hose which they replaced for about what I expected to pay. Never once did I feel like they were rattling off unnecessary repairs because I’m a girl. Marc was honest and straightforward. Everything was in a written quote before any work was done and I left without any surprise fees or extra charges. Shop is clean, Marc is as nice as you’d expect a mechanic to be. Coming from a family of mechanics, I felt a bit more comfortable here than at the dealer (who totally gave me the run around twice already) and it seems everyone else who came in and out of here today were equally as positive about their experience. Thanks, Marc and team for fixing an unexpected issue so quickly!

Like most of the reviews for this place. Worst experience ever. Manager called me an F’ing idiot because I had the nerve to ask why he said car just needed a.c. recharge then want $ 900 to fix. When o was trying to leave he continued to name call, threatened to throw stiff at me and tried to Jack up the front of my car to keep me from leaving. Wow can’t wait to give them my business again. See us later Tyler. That’s their classy manager.

I give them 4 stars out of 5 cause my experience with them is limited as of yet. However, Tyler is a very straight up guy and I have had nothing but a positive experience there. Fixed my van at a good price and told me what else it needed and also gave me advice as I am going to fix the rest of it myself. Thumbs up.

Super overpriced. Paid for an extended oil change but didn’t get it. Was told my car needed repair for a problem it doesn’t have and no other mechanic has mentioned to me since. Could hear the crass, trashy staff ridiculing me for daring to be a woman in a mechanic shop. Pretty much what I should have expected for hazel dell…

Wow best auto shop period. That’s a hard thing to say nowadays but I feel confident to not only say it and tell my friends but sign up to this Unilocal thing and say it here.
Tyler and mark and the rest of the people there are to put simply good people with a better working knowledge of cars than most. Normally I’d get the run around by shops and be told costly lies but Tyler and mark were straight forward and to the point, there weren’t any hidden costs or fees just straight talk and great work at a best value cost.
We don’t have a lot of money so it’s hard to justify sometimes taking the car in to auto shops but taking it in to that midas made us feel like we weren’t getting a bad deal but rather a place where we can always go to get great services at an even better price.
The team there really took the time to listen to us about our car (chevy malibu 05) they made sure everyone was on the right page so none of our concerns fell through the cracks Its so unlike other shops where they don’t care or too busy. they did care and even though they were busy they still took the time.
If care about your family car and wallet look no further.
Not one thing I could say bad about our experience at this midas.

Apparently I have to give one star. Bummer. Brakes installed backwards by the lackluster crew. So called manager uncaring and rude. It starts with customer service and ends with customer satisfaction. I got neither. Go anywhere else.

The fact that the manager took the time to call back and tried to find out more about my previous experience and correct the problem might mean that they care about their overall image and I will give them the benefit of the doubt, this time.
I won’t go back, but I don’t wanna negatively influence others to give them a try, on their own risk. So, Godspeed!
