The food is so fucking amazing!! l happy hour is the best time to eat there and they have 1 $ wells on Wednesday you cant beat that… beer pong on Mondays and Thursday cheap beers and all good place. i dont have to drive far to drink

I wish I could give this place negative stars.
The bouncers scrutinized the bf’s ID but couldn’t care less about mine. Service was terrible, it’s like the girl had too many shots behind the bar. We ordered two mixed drinks plus a pitcher of Budweiser, the server had to come back to ask if we wanted a pitcher or bucket, and what of. Then she charged us for a bucket and gave us Bud Light. The mixed drinks tasted like fruit punch and orange juice, I really don’t believe there was any booze in the drinks. There was so much smoke in the joint that I think I might have cancer already. The band was agonizingly loud and did a terrible job on their covers. Don’t go. Please. For me, don’t go to this bar.

My husband, 2 dogs and I are from KC, had just finished trail running at Lone Elk State Park and were starving. We drove by Bobby’s Place, saw the outside patio and decided to give it a try.
They were very gracious with our dogs, let them sit outside with us and kept bringing them water. I had a hamburger that was very tasty and my husband had the burger that consisted of two patties, two pieces of bacon and cheese between two Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Sounds kind of disgusting, but it was delicious.
The service was awesome — very highly recommended!

Very good for what it is. The food is generally better than standard bar fare and the beer selection is reasonably good. The service, however, can be dicey, but typically very friendly when you have their attention.
I like the Saturday and Sunday afternoon happy hours and the appetizer specials offered. Weekend nights not so much; crowded, loud and hard to get served, unless your beer of choice is offered in a big, ice-​filled tub. These can be easily had.

Gotta love a place who gets its namesake from Bobby Plager, one of the most charismatic and beloved people to ever wear the Blue Note.
This place gives you everything. You can get cheap, fast lunch specials guaranteed in under 15 mins as well as daily specials. They run some good drink specials as well, including cheap pitchers on Thursdays. They also feature the 40 oz Busch bottles, which I am partial to. Rotating craft beer taps were a nice touch for a bar in this area. I’ve eaten here a handful of times and its always tasty… steak sandwich, pizza, wings… all very good. Its bar food, but its good bar food. They make their own wing sauce which is tangier than most.
They do allow smoking, but theres a patio also. Lots of TVs, juke box and a few bar games such as Golden Tee… you may even see Bobby running around in there from time to time.

I came here after a bike ride. The nachos I got were extremely salty and that forced me to buy another drink. The service was meh… Decent. I had to go find my waitress after placing an order and waiting for an hour. They had forgotten my foo! So why a three then Sam? I feel like I could give this place another chance. Maybe in a week or so.

I am a regular here as it is close to my house and love this bar! However when it gets busy do not expect great service, it takes about 15 – 20 mins for someone to come check up on you so we normally have to go hunt them down which doesnt bug us for people who are new that are with us it makes them pretty mad. Also if you are in a big group keep an eye on your tab/​bank account. My card normally gets run twice when I come for some reason. The food is great though and the happy hr has really good specials! Also a good place to go on friday for ladies night ($ 2 wines, wells, and domestics) and wednesday for $ 1 well night!

Bobby’s Place is GREAT! There are very few smoking bars left and one can even enjoy a cigar. The waitresses/​bartender are the BEST! Always fast and very friendly service. Food is upscale bar food but the WINGS are the best in town. The cooks are truly «keepers». They have a tiny kitchen and get the food out fast. The ppl who complained about the smoke should not go, or not complain. There are plenty of non-​smoking restaurants around, so go there and DON’T complain. My husband and I love the place and frequent often.

My experience at this bar was not a great one. First & for most if you do not like smoke then stay away! I do not enjoy having to be subjected to smoke just to get a drink. Second, people just sit around the bar area & do not leave thus making getting a drink very difficult. I had to fight my way to the bar then waited some more for a staff member. Took over 25 min to get 1 beer. Very irritating. Not my first choice to go to when I want to have a good time

Great food with really friendly gals behind the bar. Cowboy Club is to die for! Tons of drink specials throughout the week. AND I can smoke a fine cigar! High ceilings negate the smoke so ya don’t, God forbid, offend others. How did we ever get by!!!

As far as bars go, this place is probably my favorite. That said, I never did like Friday and Saturday nights there — what’s normally a kickin’ sports bar with great food and rock&roll turns into some sort of hip-​hop dance club on Friday and Saturday nights. Unless it’s changed since I’ve been there, though, it’s still a great place to watch a game and down a few cold ones.

Bobby’s Place is a venue I’m always very hesitant to go to because I never know what I’m going to get. Sometimes their servers are fantastic and other times I feel like I have really just offended them and better watch my back because I ordered a beer. There is a small dance floor, nice patio, occasional live music and lots of seating.

Wow… I am not sure what to write here but what an experience! A few of us met up there last night to catch up and see ADD, a great band.
First and foremost, the place is really smoky. It is a bar so it is totally understandable. I just mention it to you if you have issues with smoke.
Other than that, this place is priceless. Our waitress was attentive and nice even though she had a ton of tables to manage. The beers were cold and the mixed drinks were stiff, which is a bonus. Personally, I do enjoy when you can actually taste the booze in a mixed drink but that is my own preference.
I cannot speak to the food but it looked like your standard bar food.
The best part of the visit was the crowd. Boy, what a treat. There was a guy at the bar who had a mustache drawn on his face… I couldn’t make this up if I tried…
Not to mention, the Jim Beam honey liquor girls were there with a guy in a bear suit handing out free shots… Unreal.

THE PIZZA WAS one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had, especially if you like thin crisp crust. Not too much sauce or cheese… PERFECT…

Just a warning for those who have an aversion to cigarette smoke: avoid this place like the plague. Nothing memorable in terms of food. I found the burgers to be just okay. The only thing that stood out to me here was there fried pickles which are cut very thinly and then battered. As for the pizzas, they are very thin and bland.
Overall, the menu is very limited (mainly pizzas and burgers, but what can you expect? It’s a bar). Bobby’s doesn’t distinguish itself from other bars although it is located in a nice area. There are the typical game slot machines near the entrance of the building and a few tv’s scattered throughout. If you’re looking for a place to socialize and drink beer, this place will do. Cheers!

This is one of those places that draws customers in with the waitresses and their skimpy attire. So I’ll review on their main draw. When we were there, the waitressess cover the spectum from «drop dead amazing» (yes there is one) all the way down to «trashy hot». Yep, that’s as low as it goes. If you like to watch a game with eye candy, this place doesn’t disappoint.
Only downside was the volume of Affliction t-​shirt wearing Jersey shore wannabes. They do allow smoking but I don’t mind, it’s a bar. The business should have a photo of the waitresses.

Found this place by accident actually. Went in for drinks on a Thursday night and realized I just walked into Bob Plager’s place! «Number 5 in your program, Number 1 in your hearts». I was ecstatic. I saw Bob there in the back, I said hi and so wanted to ask for his autograph but felt that was not appropriate. I might go back again and ask Bob for his autograph. After all, he is an icon of the STL. Blues.
I had a nice time. The music was good. I Did not like the margaritas though. Our waitress was very friendly and kept us content. :) A band took the stage at 10pm. I was shocked to see this place rocking on a weeknight. I would say the only negative thing was the cigarette smoke. It was not over powering but for someone that does not smoke, it was taking its toll on me. But I toughed it out. I will definitely go back and try the grill next time also.
