Service went way down hill!!! The skinny lil guy at reg told me 10mins I got there in 25mins and my food hadn’t even been started!!! I ended up not even buying my food because I wasn’t willing to wait!!! No apologies or anything just his rude ass looks and attitude

Always hot and fresh food ! I enjoy the hot wings and the down south vibe this place has! They have pickles, pickled eggs and pickled peppers ! I love the plain fried chicken as well !! Great place to come for a quick bite !

I haven’t eaten here in a long time so tonight I called in order at 8:28pm still waiting at 9:05pm. Ordered one two way and one three way combo and I should have ordered long before, I will be speaking with the owner Because when I asked the tall heavy set young man who was taking orders how much longer my order would be and his response was«shortly» and that was now at 9:13. So irritatated, and had I not paid for my meal already, and had I not been hungry, I would have left by now 9:15. I don’t know what it is lately but I guess the universe is telling me I need to cook more. It seems as though the places I have chosen to dine at lately have given me terrible service and here it is 9:20 I am still waiting. Almost one hour now since I called in and placed my order 9:25 finally got my order.

My family and I ordered JJ’s for a birthday party last week, and they haven’t stopped talking about it. I wish I knew exactly how they seasoned their chicken/fish– I’d probably be frying every night. Good food; people; and service. We surely will be back for our next gathering.

Nothing like the jj in san francisco. I was visiting my parents in vallejo and decided to buy them dinner from jj fish in vallejo since they wanted some good fried fish and being that i live in san francisco and when me and my family wants some chicken and fish i hit up jj and fish on 3rd st. After spending over eigthty doIlars on fish and chicken not to mention it was a phone order i get there a hour after i called in get there food wasnt ready .The guy said they been busy and all kind of bullshit. Phone order dont mean shit they do whoever in the store order first. After everything was overcooked not to mention some gizzards that were burnt i ended up feeding to my parents dogs. They didnt give us no tartar hotsauce after he said its in the box. We took that meal as a loss not to mention that was my first and last time going there. Bad experience if i can rate negative 0 i will

Went to JJ Fish & Chicken at their new location in Fairfield Ca. The folks here are great, very nice and hospitable. The atmosphere is family orientated, very clean restaurant. Would recommend all my family and friends to come eat here.

Check Clem is good. Cooked well but still juicy. Tilapia fish, too well done, dry and bitter. No lemon, no vinegar. Only tartar sauce. Ghetto place but food is fresh. They cook as you order. Also, idk but greasy, too much.

i’ll just get straight to the point… i rather eat food from a 3rd world country then eating here… by far the worst!!! i’ve ever tried… the inside was really filthy and a filthy homeless man was allowed to work there… smfh…my brother and i ordered a 3 piece combo each… smh…let me just say that the only good thing in that combo was the two slices of bread and i enjoyed every bite of the two sluces of bread… southern california will always have the best fish & chips, and soul food spots in california hands down…

Puts the JJ chain to shame. Had a dirty homeless guy mopping the back of the restaurant and his son(who couldn’t have been more than 6yrs old) was with him. The food ugh the food taste like it was fried in grease that was used in the preparation of The Last Supper! How can you ruin fried food? By using old grease and old food. That’s how! Like putting a wing on a pig! Gross! The guys behind the counter were cussing while a lady who had to be in her 70’s was there waiting on her food. Like it would matter the employees shouldn’t be cussing any how. If you want some REALJJ’s go to the one in Richmond or Sacramento! This place is substandard in every aspect of the word. Gone have the nerve to tell me to have a blessed day giving me this cursed food. The devil is a lie. Just cause I want fried food doesn’t mean I don’t care about what I eat or care about my health. Crooks!

I got super super sick!!! I was pretty bummed that the pic of the fried chicken showed a real bone in breast but they give u boneless skinless breaded filets — frozen it tasted like — they were dry and hard — I ate one because I was starving — no body else ate their plates — even my dogs would not eat the fries … We had to go get Chicken Express which was great and nobody but me got sick … So …

Came here after going to Six flags so naturally my boyfriend and I were starving. This place is located right next to the Vallero gas station. This is a kind of place where you order at the register and there’s a few tables you can sit down at and eat. My boyfriend and I ordered the fish combo and chose the catfish and jumbo shrimp. The catfish pieces were big. It came with crispy and delicious fries. However, they gave about 3 – 4 pieces of shrimp and they were definitely not jumbo. We also ordered a side of macaroni salad and a medium sized sea food gumbo. The macaroni salad was average nothing special, however the seafood gumbo was awful. It came in a microwaveable plastic bowl and it seemed as if it was overheated. The edges of the rice were really burnt and crunchy and the sausages were over microwaved and burnt and chewy. There were no recognizable seafood except a few pieces of really overlooked shriveled looking shrimp mixed in with soggy porridge like rice. Because we checked in I mentioned to the cashier that there was a Unilocal offer so I got 10% off. I noticed that the order before us was a very large order so that may be the reason for my over cooked gumbo. If I were to be in Vallejo and came back here, I definitely wouldn’t order the seafood gumbo again :(

I am on a Southern food kick, come cholesterol or high water. I want a taste, just a little! I ordered four chicken wings and a side of mac and cheese. Split into two meals, this was just perfect. The chicken wings were nice and hefty and meaty. Could have used a tad bit more salt, but it was tasty. Sometimes fried chicken can be overly salted, so my blood pressure thanks you. The mac and cheese was a little soupy, but heck, I loved it too. Note that here the chicken is fried in a deep fryer while another place in town that’s famous for its fried chicken too(ahem) is individually fried in a cast iron skillet. The other place wins by the tiniest of an edge because of that.

This will be quick… The fried cat fish nuggets, fried chicken, sides and dessert are a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Like it’s good. The location of this JJ’s is sketchy as hell tho.

This is my favorite restaurant in the area. Excellent southern food. Best fries by far, always crispy. Fresh chicken and fish, all the sides are great, fresh lemonade is on point. If you are expecting gourmet presentation and crazy good service look elsewhere. This is a hood shop. Get in and get out with the goods! It’s totally worth it. The food itself is fantastic, I recommend calling it in to go.

JJ’s has become my new obsession. Although it is out of the way from where we live, my husband and I find ourselves going there quite often to get food. My favorite is the 2-item plate with chicken strips and catfish nuggets. So good! And on the side I get hush puppies and mac n cheese(I don’t eat all of this by myself). There are a lot of choices for dessert as well. The banana pudding seems to be a common selection. My personal favorite though is the red velvet cake. Only one note of advice– call in your order in advance if you’re able to or you might be waiting for a while.

This place is amazing! It doesn’t look like much in this little spot next to a gas station, but don’t be fooled because inside they make magic. This is the best fish and chips I’ve had since returning from Europe. I actually took the suggestion from the staff and got catfish and chips… it was amazing. They are very friendly and even checked the ingredients for my allergies to double check for me. Highly recommend!
