Okay… This was the strangest experience ever. I wouldn’t say it was horrible, because Antonio and I weren’t starving & the food was great. But, our server definitely needs to get his ducks in a row!
Setting the scene: 9:30pm on a Saturday. Literally, there were two other tables in the bar. It was dead, completely. Our server (David) is frantically running around saying he will be at our table in a minute. I politely say, «that’s fine, do you mind if we get two menus while we wait?» He annoyingly grabs menus and in the process Knocks a drink off the bar… Whatever, shit happens.
Comes over after a few mins and we are ready to order. Antonio gets a blended Cadillac margarita and I get a Cadillac marg on the rocks, no salt. Our drinks come and Antonios drink is not blended and has no salt and my drink is fine except I have salt. Whatever not a huge deal.
We order a second round I get the same thing but this time I wanted the salt (I actually liked it) and Antonio got a BLENDED mango jalapeño marg (let me also note that this whole time David is not writing anything down). Well our drinks come. Mine was fine but Antonios marg was not blended… It’s annoying when your server can’t seem to listen very well. Finally third round Antonio gets the drink he has been asking for. Our food take a long while to come out, also. although I understand this isn’t David’s fault but the kitchen.
Aside from lack of detail and listening the food was amazing and I would totally go back again. Just, I don’t want David to be my server.

They took forever to bring our food, the place looked filthy! Very bad customer servive…

It’s been a while since we made it to Taco Tuesdays. The wife & I used to go regularly when life didn’t get in our way. There were a few things I noticed upon our return. Some were good, most weren’t. Let’s start with the good: the staff remains the best part of this restaurant. They are always upbeat, happy and festive. Not to mention they are family friendly and seem to love interacting with our kids. For a parent, that definitely stands out when going out to eat with the family. Plus, now they are offering Mexican style corn on the cob for $ 2.99. This is always a family favorite.
Otherwise, I noticed the prices per taco went up to $ 1.99 each — they used to be 99 cents; we noticed they aren’t using the same maza for their tortillas so they don’t taste as fresh. Perhaps the worst new revelation is that the floors, menus and tables are no longer clean. It is always gross to pick up a menu to decide what to eat, and be grossed out that my fingers are now sticky with some unknown substance. This was one of the main reasons I stopped going to BJs. Apparently when all of the chain restaurants go corporate, this inevitably happens. The staff and management need to step it up & clean this up. We’ll give them some time to make this happen & give them another chance. Hopefully I can upgrade this review.

Food very average, place is old and dirty. Our Server Stephani was the only reason I didn’t give it a one star! She was amazing!

Hardly any staff to take care of paying customers. Waiting super long to be asked if we wanted drinks and to get our food. The person at the front told us they were short staffed and that the bar would be better but it’s just as bad. One waiter for 5 tables and the bar.

Best brunch around, it’s revised and updated and the food and ambience is superb! Attentive staff all around, but be sure to ask to sit at Analit’s station… best waitress we’ve ever, ever had anywhere!

Best carnita tacos and guacamole i have had since ive been in cali! Ive been here for 6 weeks and been on the search for some good ol authentic mexican food and this def hit the spot!

Been coming to El Torito for years and have been waited upon by the same staff as well. Always have loved the waiters/​waitress’ enthusiasm, and the attentive service they provide. The wait is usually never longer than 5 minutes at most, and the food comes quick tasting beautifully.
However, I decided to sit in the bar one day with my father for a nice «father and daughter» lunch. I didn’t know the booths in the bar were free-​for-​all, so we figured why not try a new setting in the restaurant. We thought everything would be smooth and quick sailing, but we were extremely bothered by the behavior of the bar tender. Nothing like paying for a service and rewarded in return with a racist, and stereotypical bar tender that liked to directed point at «white people» spewing racist/​stereotypical remarks in a joking matter. This all started with asking for hot sauce. He, the bartender, pointed at several other people along with me and went on a rant about how they can’t serve hot sauce cause «white» people don’t like it. His finger was literally 5 inches from my face.
I did not complain at that time only because I didn’t need some cruel act done to my father and I’s food, since it wasn’t served yet. I did however ask for a new server, and the woman was incredibly kind going above and beyond to assist us with our dine-​in. We were also not in her wait-​zone, which was very kind of her.
Needless to say I will be coming back, but obviously not going near the bar anytime from now on. Everything else, and every other experience has been beyond perfect except this particular time unfortunately (only a few days ago too).

Must say this location is spotless clean !!!

Weird location for this restaurant to be at. Walked in and it’s dark and pretty empty for a Wednesday night. I ordered the chicken and sour cream enchiladas and I must say that they lacked a lot of flavor. It tasted like a microwave meal, wait, I think the microwave meal would have tasted better. The waitress was really good; fast and attentive. The plate I ordered came with rice and beans with two microwave tasting enchiladas and it was $ 13.99. Pretty pricy for what you get. I won’t be going back anytime soon.

We went here after Six Flags and arrived at 10:55 and they still served us even though they closed at 11pm. I forgot the waitress name, but she was very attentive and helpful, especially when my boyfriend ate a habanero pepper and she got him some milk right away. :) We all got our food fast and my friend was even enjoying the taco Tuesday special. The waitress even let him know the kitchen was closing and what other tacos she could order for him before they closed the kitchen. A waiter was even kind enough to pay attention as well and keep our water glasses full too. The food was delicious, I had the cheese enchilada and my boyfriend really enjoyed his mac n cheese shrimp enchiladas as well.
The service and food were great! The place was very clean even when we were the last customers in the restaurant. It was peaceful and relaxing. We definitely recommend eating here and would come again!

Just got gnarly food poisoning from eating dinner at this restaurant 5 hours ago. My wife and I split Fajitas and tortilla soup are we are now in pure misery. I don’t even want to think about what was in the food to make us so sick…

Food — good. Had chicken «street tacos» with rice and beans. Nothing special but a nice presentation. Not crazy about the beans.
Service– good. Sat at bar and bartender was good and on top of things.
Ambiance — typical chain restaurant. Just fine.
Bathroom — strong smell of urine /​mold? Kind of nasty.

The food was fantastic! A+. P. S It was very entertaining this time, there was a fight at the bar but management took care of it rite away !! I recommend this place highly. Clean and the staff were friendly and very polite:-) I have been here several times and it seems like they make improvements every time.

Jennifer Lopez was an amazing waiter. She was a very attentive waiter. I would definitely recommend coming into this establishment and asking for her. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for the past 11 years so I know good service when I see it. Promote her to the corporate office immediately.-Nick Sands Garrison

Amazing buffet. They have recently made some amazing changes to the Sunday buffet. Huge selection from aguachile to huevos rancheros. Julio our server always makes us feel at home. We are always well taken care of. I would recommend this location to anyone especially on Sunday’s. Ask for Julio and I guaranteed you will walk away with a smile

This place is great.
Food was delicious, David our waiter was great. we all had a really good time. We will be back to eat here many time’s.

Idonno where to start, server just to slow. I don’t know why but it’s all. good
. I order some. burrito with only meat and rice, that’s all. i wanted to my burrito. But she ended up putting some bean and cheese. I’m not really fan of beans and cheese. Anyway for the price is little higher than I thought…

This is the review for Taco Tuesday. $ 1.50 per taco. Quite pricey than other competitors but it’s worth it! The tacos were served the right way. The tortillas was cooked right with jagged edges. They have chicken, pork and steak. The steak is juicy and succulent ! The pork is good. The chicken is juicy and not dry like the other Latin venues I tried.
They have very very very hot sauce so stay from that. I ate mine with veggies and mild sauce.
Come early. It is always crowded here. Perfect for 1^st dates when you want cheap but fun venue.
