Ate here after an occasion with my family. Still regretted it, but wasn’t quite my decision. Food creepy, starchy and bland. Ice cream machine broken. Over priced. Guess this place is closed now? I miss Fresh Choice.

Hmm. Food taste ok, price ok. Not so many choices for food and cannot find any beef or pork. Only fish and chicken

Their food isn’t the best but I get the fact that multiple dishes need to be prepared at once so food needs to be thrown together more quickly but they still need to focus on the quality of food. The price is just too outrageous for the quality of food served! The only reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 is because their staff is so friendly and helpful! They are on it too! Dirty plates were never on our table for long! Our waitress, Karen, made sure our table was clean as clutter-free as possible. She was very sweet. There restaurant is very clean as well. Even the bathrooms are very clean!

This place is horrible… The ceiling is filthy with dust & dirt likely falling into your food. The restrooms are always nasty & unkept. There must be at least one good cook back there since sometimes the meat loaf and fried chicken are good. The salmon was dry & the ice cream machines are always broken down. You have to wait too long for them to refill the steam table with food. They are very stingy with the ribs. The chefs seem nice, but the waitresses play head games. They don’t come around unless you have a mouth full of food & when it’s time for a tip. The main Manager is very rude & highly unprofessional. He said he was out of Styrofoam for takeout so we had to eat there then he flirted with my date who was very displeased with the service. One time when I asked for a refund because the cashier was playing stupid, I had to wait ten minutes for the nutty manager to come over and then he expects me to fill out about 5 pages for a simple refund to my credit card & when I refused, he became disrespectful. The cooks are good sometimes, but the waitresses are not, & the main Manager sucks at his job !!! Nasty place with Nasty Attitudes ! Not recommended.

Courteous and helpful staff obviously well managed. The buffet is well stocked, clean and better presented than other buffets. As far as buffet’s go, this place exceeds expectations. Contrary to other reviews the food is above average. The meatloaf, gravy and Mac n cheese are well prepared and delicious. Excellent salad bar and taco bar along with about a dozen dessert options. Everything was flavorful without being too salty or sweet. If your looking for a bottomless plate of comfort food, your needs will be met. Satisfied, full and happy!!!

So this is my second time here to this hometown buffet and I halftwo say it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever been in. I’m from southern California and the hometowns down there are not the business. But this one keeps all of there foods nice and fresh so I had to give this one 4 stars

My kids love eating at Hometown. I go because they love it but the food is marginal. Today my husband god the baked chicken and it wasn’t cooked completely. I think it is a bit pricey for marginal quality. The wait staff is always friendly though

Full disclosure, I personally am not a fan of their food. However, my wife is, as well as my kids. We go because my wife finds amazing deals for inexpensive breakfast/lunch/dinner for a family of four. However, the little things keep me happily going back. The hospitality manager, I believe his name was Marc, came by our table this morning. He checked in with us to see if we needed anything. My wife asked for a balloon for each of the kids. He happily obliged and engaged several other families with an offer of balloons. Small gesture maybe… but the huge smile on our kids faces said otherwise. Thanks to Marc and to the staff. We’ll see you soon.

I took my 85 year old mother to Home Town Buffet for Mothers day it was not my first choice but we ended up there what a disappointment first the charge for 2 people 25.48 but then you are ask do you want something to drink that’s another 4.98 add the tax of 2.40= 32.86 I would not mind paying that much if all the food was at least fully cooked they had little pans of pot roasts the carrots and potatoes were so under cooked they were crunchy raw, same for the broccoli with cheese the only food that was good was the chicken pot pie who ever cooked that got the second star. Then there were the kid’s I don’t mind kid’s but around food there needs to be some controls there was a little girl that was taste testing what she did not like she put back an employee saw her do this and did nothing about it there were at least 10 kids at the food tables under 10 years of age all the time we were there, I understand it was mothers day and it was very busy but management did not give much of a dam about the going ons around the serving tables or the health of its customers, last the service was poor I felt ripped off hope we don’t get sick I will never eat there again

Just OK. The quality of the food, service, and cleanliness seems to be declining. We used to visit at least once a month, but after the last few times, Im not sure when I will be back. Poor lighting, sticky floors, the entire beverage section seems like germ central. The plates are wet, which just seems disgusting.

I could take the family to Casche Creek for much better food, and drinks included, at $ 10.00 per person, your prices have gone too high for buffet what is it around $ 15 per adult, oh thats with adding the $ 2.50FOREADRINK… and yes, you ran out of bacon the last time I went for breakfast, I only go there when I get a coupon, but still have to buy the damm $ 2.50 drink, on a buy one meal get one free SCAMMERS to high for dehydrated potatoes

I liked my meal fine. The price considering that we are vegetarians is too high. I loved the warm yeasty rolls and the varied deserts. Everyone found something to eat. We did seat ourselves by the dish rack where dishes crashed and waitstaff gossiped about co workers through our meal. However with a good coupon and a different seat we may come back.

Loved it. Viviana was out waitress and she was great. Menudo was screamin and so was the bacon and breakfast pastry. Always a family favorite, so much variety the whole family is happy. Very coupon friendly as well.

Very disappointed. Our first time coming here for the breakfast buffet. First question… how do you run out of bacon for the Sunday buffet? Was it poor ordering on management’s part? Perhaps it was prepping for lunch since that started in 45 minutes? Either way, unacceptable. Tables lack sugar. Only way to get sugar is to take it from another table or wait till a server comes by and wait for them to being it. Do they realize coffee is the staple drink at breakfast? Probably not as the servers look to young to even drink coffee. They can’t comprehend the importance. Final thought… spend your money elsewhere that will give you good breakfast options.

I used to love Hometown Buffet for their soup, salad bar and some freaking delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Well I am said to say that the soup didn’t look good, bacon and the Krab seafood salad were no longer in the salad bar and there were no grilled cheese sammies! What will they get rid of next, the meat loaf? At least I can still combine my cherry icee with the soft serve vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.

Here with my family, before meal on Superbowl Sunday. Make the mess here, not at the sister home. Foods great, personal great, from breakfast, to lunch, What more can we ask for, one more thing the cost is right. Enjoy. Happy Superbowl!

I guess you can’t expect much for a buffet, but this place has definitely gone downhill over the years… Came here for Saturday lunch with family. The place was pretty clean and we were seated quickly. Although it’s a buffet, I didn’t feel there was much of a selection. Definitely try their fried chicken though! It was surprisingly good. Nothing else was really memorable to me. Our servers were really nice, but beware of their drink policy! Drinks used to be included with the meal, but they charge extra now. This wasn’t made clear to our entire party when we paid up front, so one person inevitably grabbed a soda from the fountain. Someone came up to our table to check at some point, and made us pay the additional charge for the drink immediately. I understand that the waitress was simply following the rules, but it was a rude inconvenience in the middle of the meal – for such a small fee, too, especially compared to the $ 90 our party had already paid.

Never thought I would say this but Hometown buffet is the bomb(at least the one here in Vaca-town). I’ve been here a few times usually for lunch and I can always count on excellent fried chicken, tender pot roast, and mashed potatoes with the brown gravy. All at a comparable price of a double double animal style with animal style fries and a coke… And if you feel a guilty(maybe a little) the fresh green salad option is always there. What’s also bomb about this place is the big hot sauce selection and of course unlimited plates of high carb or low carb plates of yummmy goodness, it’s your choice. AND it’s nice that you can personalize your plate any damn way you want! U wanna experiment and create a sour cream/parmesan ranch dressing dip for your fried okra and chicken fried steak plate? You can! And I did! But please folks don’t waste food –ever! As my momma says, there are starving people in africa or(insert country here). And to top it all off, I had a hot fudge sundae cake — chocolate cake baked in a melted pool of chocolate goodness. This was something I had never seen before! And of course you have your choice of frozen yogurt or ice cream to accompany this creation. How can you beat that?! It was so rich and delish. Service is usually attentive and pleasant. Overall 5stars. Extra star for value to quality ratio.

My family has eaten here since I was seven years old, that’s over eleven years now and I can honestly say their service and food has gone downhill since the first economic crash(~five or so years ago). I constantly find spoons and forks stuck together by chocolate that is clearly there(not a crumb, but a HUGE bite) Gross! Their plates also have bits of food always on them, as well as their bowls and every other eating utensil, and don’t let me get started on their coffee cups. There’s brown stains in each one– and it isn’t just from coffee type stains– if you touch it, it comes off! So clearly the stains COULD be washed off… they just don’t do it. Their food is decent, didn’t change much since I was younger but there are less selections and lunch isn’t as nice as it used to be. The price has increased about 3 dollars overall and you have to buy the drinks separately from the dinner itself, whereas before it came as one set price. If you get the drinks with your dinner you’re paying more, if you only drink water you’re saving like a dollar versus the price I grew up with. At this moment, all their previous staff out in the front are gone(I’m not sure about the cooks) and almost everyone is brand new. The only person that I still see is the owner/manager and every now and then the gentlemen who cuts the meat at dinner time. Otherwise I never see any of the old staff. The only reason I still go back is the loyalty I feel towards the business. Childhood memories and all that good stuff, I defiantly won’t go back as much as before however.
