Been here twice. The extra star is for the service. Even my teen daughter recognized the service was great. Friendly and quick to clear tables. Tables are hard to come by. We had to hover over tables to ensure we would have a place to sit inside. I had the tri tip sandwich. Big enough of a sandwich but the meat was fatty and really not much flavor. My daughter had the chicken strips. She thought they were a little«peppery» but not bad. She liked that they were crisp. Maybe something other than the tri tip would be ok but both times I have had it I thought it was too fatty for my taste.

My new favorite bbq joint. The bbq chicken and the beans are YUMMY. My side salad was fresh, and the sweet potato fries were delicious. And to top it off, it’s quick.

By far one of the best newer restaurants in Vacaville!(At least it still feels new to me…) I always get the Avocado chicken salad but today I tried the Roadhouse and they are both equally as delicious. If you have not tried their honey lime dressing, you are missing out! Also, the décor and vibe here is amazing. I have yet to try out the bar but their beer selection is great too.

This was the 2nd time I’ve been here and it was still terrible. I had the«Caesar pleaser» with trip tip. The salad dressing was definitely an acquired taste, not your typical Caesar dressing. The meat. Eew. Just super chewy. Laced with fat. Just horrible cuts. My husband had the bbq chicken, he said it was bland. Overall not impressed. Pros: prices were great and they had a great beer(a lot of local brews) selection. The staff was nice as well. We won’t be back unfortunately.

Buckhorn BBQ is in a very convenient location right by all the Nut Tree shopping. I’ve been a handful of times and the service is typically good. This is an «order at the counter and they’ll bring it to you» kind of place. The interior is rustic and it’s a good place for lunch or a casual dinner. The plates are good, but they can get kinda pricey for what you get. Their burgers are much more affordable, and are also delicious! I have tried the steakhouse burger and the bacon cheddar burger. Both were good, but the bacon cheddar had more«oomph!» My boyfriend loves the tri tip burger. Buckhorn has also catered two work events. When we picked up the items(we got sandwiches) they were ready to go as promised! They gave us a few bottles of barbecue sauce and some horseradish. The first time, the man working was even nice enough to help us carry it out to the car. My coworkers were happy with the meal, and I was pleased with the convenience of the pickup.

Fast food bbq and overpriced for the poor quality. NOTHING like their real restaurant spot in Winters. Save your money and go there instead! Plus, the place was dirty. I’ll post a picture of the lamp and cobwebs above my food. GROSS!

Goods: — Tri tip burger and ceaser pleaser is a must! — I like how you can order up front and you get to pick your own seat — They have the sauces in bottles at each table — Soda fountain and utensils are on the end which you can self serve(some other locations you do not get self serve soda fountain) — The bar is pretty big — Outdoor seating area — Location is ideal — Server(I think his name was Larry) was a sweetheart. I didn’t get my fork for my salad and he noticed so he went all the way to get it for me which he didn’t have to! Alrights: — The caesar pleaser was supposed to come with cornbread and I didn’t get it, but I didn’t realize it until later Bads: — Nothing bad yet: P Overall, This place got me hooked! I started going to the closer buckhorn location in Sacramento.

Today my small family preferred the family feast so we could enjoy lunch here and take a lot home for dinner. It came to our table so quickly I was uncertain that it was our order! It came with choice of three meats and three sides. We got tri tip, chicken and ribs. For sides we got sweet potato fries, broccoli salad and Mac and cheese. It also came with three corn bread muffins and one baguette. Everything was great. My favorites were the ribs, the fries and the broccoli salad. The ribs were sweet and spicy and fall odd the bone tender. The fries were so delicious and crispy! And the broccoli salad was crunchy and sweet, loaded with sunflower seeds and raisins. Everything was great, except for the price. We paid 79 bucks including 3 drinks. Just a little on the steep end. But, it was worth it.

Great Vacaville BBQ spot. Excellent food and service. Counter system of ordering and helpful staff cleans your place. I tried a Cabo Chop salad with Tri Tip and it was excellent. There was plenty of fresh beans, corn, avocado, onions, blue cheese crumples, and romaine lettuce served on top of a crisp shell made of of a flour tortilla lightly fried and seasoned with a vinaigrette dressing. My coworkers ordered a pulled pork sandwich and the other a Roadhouse salad with crispy onions on top. Great food, clean venue, plenty of parking, reasonable prices, and friendly and helpful staff is good for a 5-star review. Thank you Buckhorn BBQ :)

I’ve come here a few times and the food/service level has been fine. I usually get a salad with the tri-tip or something similar. Overall, the food is ok, but nothing super special. The meat items usually come out cold so don’t expect hot food. On Saturdays, this place can get pretty busy so finding a seat can be difficult. Also, the self-serve bbq sauce bottles can be hard to track down so make sure you grab a bottle of your favorite sauce right away if it’s busy. There is outdoor seating available so I was happy that I could bring my dog with me.

I’m not a huge fan of BBQ, but this place is good for a meat fix and their salad and sides is awesome. We usually get the family meal which is $ 70+ and it’s more than enough food for 5 people or so. You can dine in or out on patio which is nice. Portions are decent and honestly can be split between two people…

I love this place for BBQ. There are many options to choose from, huge salads and an extensive sides menu including roasted veggies. The mac and cheese is wonderfully creamy and savoury. The beans are top notch. The sandwiches are devine and the Tri Tip is not to be missed. It’s a weird system where you go in, order your food and drinks and if it’s beer you’re getting, they give it to you then, otherwise one helps themselves to the tea or sodas in the rear of the restaurant. Best to go in with someone, have one person order and pay and the other person find a table. It’s a noisy joint but the back of the place near the washrooms tends to be a bit quieter.

An insult to the Buckhorn name. Low quality food coupled with poor customer service and the prices are the same as the real Buckhorn steakhouse. If you’re shopping at nut tree and have a chance to try this overpriced fast food, don’t bother.

I need to stop ordering burgers at this place. Not because they aren’t good, but because the tri-tip is SOMUCHBETTER. This time I even ordered a burger WITH tri-tip on top.(overkill? probably) Didn’t regret getting a burger, but I wished I hadn’t ordered one. Okay, so I kinda regretted it. Not because it wasn’t good, but because the others are better.

After hearing about this place from a buddy of ours, Buckhorn immediately got put on our radar. Of course, new establishments have their own kinks to work out, and unfortunately our buddy had just that. We were glad to hear that one of the managers at Buckhorn actually reached out to him on Unilocal and offered to make his next visit a much better one. Just hearing that made us respect this spot that much more. Anyway, so one night we were hankering for some good old BBQ after a day of shopping at the Nut Tree Outlets. We had plenty of restaurants to choose from, but BBQ it was, and I had no qualms about it. It’s on the other side of the freeway from the outlets. Just take Nut Tree Road over the freeway, hook a left on E. Monte Vista and it’s on the lefthand side. Parking isn’t that bad at all. Upon getting there, you notice that there’s an outdoor seating area. At first we were a bit confused as to how the arrangement was(whether we sit down and a waiter shows up, or whether we stand in line to get our food then sit down like self-serve). Well, turns out it’s a mix of both. Initially we wanted to sit outside because it was late afternoon/early dusk and it was rather warm outside, but ended up going inside because we had our youngest son with us, and didn’t want to get him sick. We grabbed a table while the Mrs took our orders and stood in line to order. In the meantime, I noticed the bar was decent, but not huge. There was also some basketball on the smallish TV. It was NBA All-Star weekend so there was plenty to see, just not the game itself. There was a small bar where the utensils, napkins and sauces were, and on our table also had sauces. We were set. Almost. So how it works is that you order your food as if it’s a fast food line, then a server brings your food out to you and you can order drinks and appetizers from that same server. So it’s a bit of a hybrid. Anyway, our particular server was rather pleasant and explained how the appetizer/drinks system worked. Easy enough. Then the food came out. Oh. My. God. It was as if heaven had opened up and handed us our plates. Might as well have because the food was just amazing!!! As you can see from the pictures, Buckhorn does not skimp. My sausage and pulled pork plate was just scrumptious, and the mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables were perfectly seasoned. Just can’t say it enough, but the sauce was truly the boss here. The food was great standalone but the sauce made it even better. Can’t remember the names of each one(they have 4 distinct), but one of them was the one I just kept going back to. Overall the food itself is the real reason why I give this place 5 stars. We will definitely be coming back here. However… there was one minor thing that stood out to us, and particularly irked us also. This gripe actually drops Buckhorn down 1 star. Another server(not the one who helped us the first time) was around and asked ALL the other tables around us if they were okay, but kept walking right by us and didn’t even acknowledge us even as we were looking for our own server, who probably went on break. Kinda felt as though we weren’t being given attention because our baby son was crying and annoyed the server. I really don’t know, but that was our one gripe. Otherwise, keep up the good work and we look forward to coming back in the near future.

It was good food. It was a lot! The people were very helpful. They also give you samples up front as you order. They have a display of what they have for customers to try and then they give you a scoop of it. They had 4 types of bbq sauces on the table to choose from. The chicken was good but plain. The steak was better I thought. Fast service and in a good area.

I decided to grab lunch here on a Saturday since I was in the area for outlet shopping. I walked in and the line wasn’t too long and I ordered a roadhouse salad with tri tip which is my usual order at buckhorn. The cashier who took my order was prompt and friendly. Then I grabbed my number and sat down and waited at the table. The ambiance was friendly and it was semi-crowded. It seemed like the food took a while to come to my table and when it did arrive I was disappointed about the size of my salad since I remembered it being a lot bigger when I have ordered it at other buckhorns. Overall the flavor was still the same and pretty tasty I just wish the salad was bigger for the amount that I paid. Even with my coupon my salad was a tad small for being around $ 10.

True Story: Driving down 80 West, Mom saw a billboard for Buckhorn Steakhouse in Winters, and I thought, man tri-tip sounds really good right about now, why didn’t we go to the one in Sac before we left? Luckily, approaching Vacaville, I saw the sign for Buckhorn BBQ and turned in! Advertising for the win. I’ve had Buckhorn Grill cater work lunches before so I knew exactly what to expect here. The only hard decision was what meats and sides to get! We actually splurged on the Feast for Two, where you could choose two meats, two sides, and either French rolls or cornbread for $ 30. We got the tri-tip, pulled pork, broccoli slaw salad, sweet potato fries, and corn muffins plus fountain drinks… wow! I really, really liked the corn muffins… had more than my share(half). Very tasty as usual, next time will go for the [messier] ribs and [less healthy] mac ‘n cheese or mashed potatoes! I’m not as big of an eater as in the past, and we didn’t want to food-coma when we still had a long drive to SF to go, so we actually ended up boxing some of it up. I’m definitely more of a horseradish fan over the BBQ sauce. The service was great, will definitely come back again, they also have happy hour!

My coworkers and I frequently go to this restaurant often, since it’s only about 5min away from our work. But beware. parking tends to be a bit of a nightmare around that area. Luckily Buckhorn is at the end of the strip(for now), so there’s a few more spaces that aren’t as cramped as the ones closer towards Starbucks. The menu ranges from salads and small sandwiches, to large combo plates and platters full of bbq chicken, beef, and sides. The entrée that I order the most would have to be the caesar tri-tip flatbread, as it comes with the salad topped on a warm grilled piece of flatbread. Plus croutons on top! I’ve also had the cabo chop salad, served in a fried shell, but ordering tri-tip for $ 3 extra on the salads is usually a hit or miss. Sometimes they’re generous and other times you’ll get a couple paper thin slices on top… The tritip burger and philly buck sandwiches are also pretty good, but definitely make it a combo meal if you’re really hungry because sandwiches can be on the smaller side. One thing to note, make sure you check your order if you call in or pick-up to-go. They went over my receipt the first time that I called in, but recently we ordered to-go and found out that we were missing a big buck sandwich…
