This is the first restaurant we went to while house hunting in Vacaville. We’ve since visited two more times and all three experiences have been very pleasant. Our servers were always friendly, and the food came out quick. They have Guinness on tap which makes me a happy camper. Their fried calamari is tasty, mixed with onions and red peppers which sets it apart from some other places. If you’re a traditionalist with your calamari, then I wouldn’t try it. It’s tasty for something a bit different though. I’ve only had their Ruben sandwich and I really like it. Get a window seat and if you go for lunch you can do some excellent people watching since the restaurant overlooks the creek walk.

Had lunch here last Saturday with 2 lovely ladies. It was nice to be able to still order breakfast at lunch – I had the spinach and mushroom omelette with hash browns. The ladies had sandwiches, which were similarly unremarkable. The most memorable thing a was the service. The waitress was cool and attentive, without smothering us. The food was seriously MEH though, which was too bad. I am not sure if it was just that I was distracted by the bizarre layout of this joint or what, but save the fantastic service, this is kind of a weird place. My attitude may have been affected by the rather odd wedding reception going on in the banquet room, which unfortunately brought in a parade of Kardashian wannabes, who poured themselves into flammable dresses that ended up looking more like sausage casings rather than«fancy» dress up. Oh well…

Good service, but most of the food is not very good or creative.

My new favorite hidden place! Fun place to go when downtown has the creekwalk going on so you can listen to the music! The first time we went it was about 100 outside and our waitress was AWSOME(sorry I can’t remember her name) but she was constantly checking on us, she even brought us ice to put in our water since it was melting so fast due to the heat! I thought that was nice

For 4th of July, my family and I needed a place to rest/avoid traffic on the 80 so we settled on grabbing dinner in Vacaville. We originally had wanted to go to a Japanese restaurant called Hana Sushi but sadly it was closed. After walking around for a bit, we stumbled upon Creekside Bar and decided to give it a try. With a party of 5 + 2 kids, they decided to open up their banquet room just to accommodate us. We could tell they were not planning on opening it at all so it was kind of them to do so for us. Best part was, we had the whole room to ourselves for the entire time! We ordered: Crab Louie 2 Shrimp and Crab Wraps Whiskey Salmon Special Grilled Pork Chops topped w/peach, strawberry & nectarine Both the Salmon and Pork Chop came with a choice of either house salad or Caesar. We also had an option of what kind of potato we wanted, baked, mashed(garlic or regular) or fries. We waited for about 10 – 15 minutes for all food, which was pretty quick IMO. A big plus for all the food coming out at the same time, some places are not so prompt. –Pros– Bread was fresh and warm Both the wraps and louie were fresh and abundant Caesar was not overdressed Salmon was fresh, great grill marks Pork also had great grill marks(a sign that they scrap it clean after each order, otherwise you can’t get that perfect diamond pattern) –Cons– Bread could have been baked a few minutes longer(center was still underbaked) Salmon lacked the flavor of whiskey, mostly tasted of overly sweetened teriyaki sauce One pork was cooked better than the other, this is the kind of dish that is good the first bite but after a few it can be too much(sometimes it was too sweet, other times too peppery but when balanced it was good) Side of vegetables were overcooked and mushy plus over salted Last but not least, the garlic mashed potatoes needed more garlic kick! Service was typical, not bad but not great either Overall Thoughts I can see promise at Creekside as a great lunch destination

A great breakfast place with a pretty view near the windows. A little pricey. Been there a dozen times. Consistently good.

I’ve gone here with my wife at least once a month since I’ve lived in Vacaville, so that’s a minimum of 72 visits over the last 6 years. More than 100 is probably more accurate, because I occasionally meet clients there for breakfast or lunch. When the Black Bear Diner moved into town it was a wake-up call for Creekside Bar and Grill. They lost some customers and a few of their best waitresses to the Bear. The good news is that they rose to the occasion and came fighting back. It’s a better decorated, better menued, better staffed restaurant than before. The loose ends are tightened up and they are hanging in there, better than before, IMHO. The servers are still some of the best in town and always friendly. The menu is fairly substantial, portions pretty hefty, and the prices aren’t too bad either. There’s a full bar for those that like to imbibe the occasional adult beverage, and decent views of the park and creek from the window seats if you just want to enjoy a quiet meal. The only downside is that some of the plates are«chef dependent», meaning that a dish that was great on Tuesday, might not be so great on Saturday when another face is on the grill or griddle… Good, honest food. Nice folks. Occasional kitchen fluctuations. All good. It’s Vacaville.

What an adventure. Ruben sandwich was dry. My boyfriend said he’d tasted beef jerky with more moisture. My sausage and cheese omelet was all cheese and maybe A sausage link. However, I did get a crap load of hash brown. The best part was my sourdough toast came out before my soda. It was extra crispie and was given frozen butter to spread on my ONE piece of toast! I do believe unless its during football season and we can eat downstairs, it will be removed from our dinning list!

What do you call 6 friends having brunch at Creekside Bar & Grill? One heck of a good time! My friends and I have been here many times for happy hour, particularly during the summer months for Friday Night Creekwalk. But this was the first time I actually sat down for a meal, and having 5 friends with me just meant I had a chance to sample 5 more things from the menu. The only problem, 4 of us ordered Eggs Benedict, another ordered a yogurt parfait, and the other order the Crab Benedict. But I did do some sampling and plate watching. The dishes on the brunch menu are similar to what you would expect to find on most brunch menus, and were prepared in the typical manner. What I will rave about, however, are the hash browns. I rarely eat hash browns, simply because I’m too lazy to do all that shredding, so I like ordering them when I’m out for breakfast. Their hash browns are shredded thicker than the usual. These are wide like fettuccine and are fried to perfection with no greasy aftertaste. It’s a simple thing, but so good. Parking can be a bit tenuous being that they have no parking lot. But having to stroll a couple blocks will hardly feel like a chore in this quaint little area. Sunday was particularly busy due to a bike race, but there was plenty of parking just a short block away. And personally, I didn’t mind watching a bunch of men riding around in cycling shorts. But if you’re the kind of person who just likes to get where you’re going and order, ask to be seated on the patio next to the creek and order one of their signature Bloody Mary’s while you wait. It will calm you right down and spice up your day. Overall, the menu pulls no fantastic surprises but is tasty and typical of a bar and grill, and the location provides an inviting atmosphere especially if you’re looking to hookup with friends.

Sunday noon — three hungry people looking for something to eat and hoping to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine and views of the creek. We’re directed down a dark set of stairs, only to find that no outdoor tables are available at the moment, so it’s a 15-minute wait until one opens up. We order the crab/avocado wrap, a pastrami sandwich, and the Cobb salad. Pastrami sandwich came with homemade potato chips that tasted good, but weren’t that crispy. My friend ate every bit of her Cobb salad — she thought there was lots of good bacon to dig into. My wrap, however, was just a meh. Could barely taste the crab, which was shredded(I prefer lump crab meat), or the avocado. I only ate half of my wrap, but it was very entertaining to pick off pieces of the flour tortilla to throw into the creek and watch the fishes below attack each other for the bits like mad Amazonian piranhas.

I’ve been here about 2 times… stumbled on this place by accident i guess. Looking for a sushi bar, but instead decided to come in here because noticed that there was some kind of concert setting up across the creek so we decided to give it a shot. Went to the lower level patio seating and found that there was live music. I would recommend thurs and fridays for this kind of stuff… Its pretty relaxing sitting by the creekside and enjoying your meal, which was great too. It pretty much sets the mood right when you have a live jazz band along with a creek beside you and good food. They served a good sized portion, well worth what you pay for. I cant remember what i had but they were all good for the most part. Since its been a while that i’ve had this bookmarked, it slipped my memory already. but hey, the stars say it all. I would return.

They have signs up stating they won best breakfast 2005,2006,2007 for Solano County. I cant help but think after eating here in 2010 they are living on passed glories. First and foremost I don’t think you can claim best breakfast when you don’t serve espresso coffees but that’s just me. Also no fresh squeezed juice. For fans of classic hollandaise suace on your eggs benedict this is not the place for you they serve the ‘gravy’ type, not a fan. The eggs and bacon combo is good, done as asked for, just not great. Pancakes were delicious — big serving light and fluffy, slight hint of cinnamon, I think. Service was good smiling and attentive which is always good. Overall with a few tweaks they could actually live up to the ‘best breakfast’ moniker. I guess when you see a sign like that your expectations become a little higher and it just gives you a lot more room to be let down.

I’m on the fence about this place — has good potential. — not what I had expected for Mother’s Day Brunch. The girl at the front was really snotty and rude — she said we didn’t have a reservation and then with attitude she said, «oh are you here for the buffet? it’s downstairs» the buffet was in the bar area — they need to get some lights in that place — really dim and dark, not inviting, luckily when we were taken to our table we were in the lighted area. our table wasn’t set it just had plates, no napkins, silverware or glasses, which was wierd because the guy that sat us said, «let me check if your table is ready» and then sat us and walked away — he didn’t even tell us who would be helping us or anything. we sat at the table for 3 – 4 mins and then got up and got some food from the buffet(scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, corned beef, biscuits and gravy(gravy = bland), fresh fruit, pastiries, pasta salad and i think there was prime rib but it wasn’t anything special; the food was good except for the gravy. it could have been something special if our table was set, if our server came and introduced herself, if we got our drinks before our food, if we didn’t have to keep trying to find our waitress, the whole experience was not your typical experience in a restaurant — i won’t ever go back because of how unorganized the service is and especially not even to try the restaurant upstairs because of that snotty girls attitude. *** Find something nicer for Mother’s Day *** — cost: $ 75 for 4 adults — mimosas and coffee included — good deal but eh.

I still love this place for our weekly breakfast with friends. I did have to add, after a recent experience, eat breakfast in the main dining area — not the bar. I understand that the bar area is geared more towards the sports fans. It’ll take a little longer to get your order. Selection is a little more limited. And the things you kind of take for granted(availability of creamer, jelly, coffee refills, etc) are noticeably absent when you have breakfast at the bar. I asked for wheat bread for my breakfast, not a request that’s completely out there… and the server gave me a look of exasperation because only the biscuit was served in the bar area. Oooops! She complied, but it was clear it was forced. it won’t affect my Sunday morning restaurant choice. I just know to stick to the main dining area for the service.

I go here from breakfast mostly. about 2 times a month… I sit upstairs… sometimes withcompany, sometimes like sundays a chance to get out by myself… and have a big breakfast and watch some sunday football, great cofffee and good food, fast and friendly service. I like that the servers… LOOK professional, seem mostly attentive and try to earn a tip… most other restraunts in vacaville… generally suck in the serving department… this one… does not. If your a big breakfast guy. or gal… TRy it out…

The best part of being out late? Brunch the next morning(or afternoon)! I saw that Creekside served brunch until 2, so off I went to try it. The restaurant itself is nice enough. The interior isn’t anything special(or bad) but is well laid out, and Creekside has a nice view out to downtown Vacaville if you get a table by the window. Our server seemed somewhat inexperienced but was very earnest and hard-working, and the manager was very on-the-ball. Our food came out extremely quickly, which was great! Once the food came out I was a little less impressed. We both got omelets, and while there was nothing wrong with the cooking, they were really bland. Both of us had to douse our omelets in salt and Tabasco sauce to get any kind of decent taste. For the price(which wasn’t expensive for brunch but wasn’t budget either) I guess I’d been expecting a little bit more. That was a little disappointing, but I’m still excited by things like the free wifi and downstairs bar area. I’m still hoping to try out some other meals and areas of the restaurant to get a full impression of Creekside.
