So I love my mom and pop shops but I was disappointed this time when I went to Taza’s. I ordered my food to go and went my old fave the spinach tomato and mozzarella omelet. I get home to eat my food and find piece of hair in my omelet and flat bread that came with it. I’m sad that this happened and I hope that they haven’t fallen off from what they used to be. I feel sick to my stomach because I spent $ 11 and because there was hair in my food. The service was superb but the food quality was saddening. Also if you go Saturday for the cinnamon rolls don’t go late in the am and expect there to be any.

Friendly staff and the coffee is great! Their French vanilla nut crème coffee is so yummy. I will definitely be coming back here.

Great alternative to starbucks. The food is good as well as the tea and coffee. I always go here when I’m in the area.

This was one of the first places I checked for whole bean coffee in the local area. The beans were really oily and the grinds did not hold water making it impossible to pull a proper espresso. It was easily at least a month past roasting. The barista’s skill level was akin to what you find at starbucks. I always order a latte as a baseline test. The foam was coarse and the milk scalded. At least the place is clean and inviting.

Cute Café. Limited seating. Some couches and great study place. They have speciality coffee and tea drinks. And I think is a hookah joint at night. I’m not from here, just visiting family for the holidays from CA. Everyone in my family ordered a half sandwich and soup combo. They all ordered the Tri Tip Sandwich with Roasted Red Pepper Soup. My brother ordered a Pesto Chicken Sandwich with the Roasted Red Pepper Soup. I decided to get the Broccoli Cheddar Quiche. I was eyeing the cinnamon roll because I saw an article saying this place has the best cinnamon roll in San Antonio. Ahh. Gotta try that next time. I also ordered a Grande Iced Green Walnut. 2.55 Service was slowwwww. Super slow… The barista was friendly though, she tried her best. I know how stressful it can be. She was the only one making drinks and cashier at the same time. They should hire more workers. There was one person in the back making food. Very disorganized. I’ve seen baristas ring someone up and then make that persons drink before going onto the next person. That happened when we first got there but as the line formed after us, she rang everyone else up as well behind us before starting our drinks(about 6 – 8 others) Some of the food came out way before the drinks, meaning the food is just sitting their getting cold. There was a line behind us as well. The food had to have taken at least 20 – 30 min. We ordered Togo. We were only staying about 2 min away. We got home and started to dig in. 2⁄3 soups were cold, and I mean super cold… I tried a little but of each of the sandwiches and were really good to my surprise so that’s a plus. I definitely recommend the Tri Tip Sandwich. My Quiche was delicious, but I was kinda disappointed with the size. I finished it in like 3 – 4 bites lol It had the right consistency. I think it was around $ 6 and it came in a big box too lol See picture for reference. Drinks were alright. Green walnut just tastes like regular green tea. I wouldn’t come here if you are in a rush. This place definitely needs more workers though. Come here if you have time to waste and get their sandwiches.

Seriously? I paid for a $ 7 pesto pasta salad and it came on a paper bowl… What happened? Ran out of dishes? I mean, if you want a soup&salad ad I was looking for, go for Panera Bread or Olive Garden, because there you have napkins and better quality.

Perfect place for a late evening light and healthy dinner. Sandwiches(shaved ribeye steak), smoothies, and tea hit the spot. The dessert(lemon pie) taste fresh too).

Today I give Tazas a two star because they didn’t have the Curry raisin walnut chicken. That is all I like to eat there. Very disappointing.

Their cinnamon rolls are the only reason why I have gone back. Their customer service is not great by any means. Tried their carrot cake and was not impressed.

I had a freshly baked cinnamon roll, dirty chai iced tea latte, and southwest chicken soup. It was alright, the staff was nice and quick. I just think that the cinnamon roll could’ve been softer and had more icing. The latte was good but lacking chai flavoring in comparison to the size with espresso so the Batrista gladly added more for me. I give 4 stars overall. I believe Emily’s place coffee shop is king though. I will have to try more stuff from Tazas but for now it’s a 4.

Very good coffee and sandwiches. The cinnamon rolls are also delicious. The walnut green iced tea is excellent, as well as the roasted red pepper and gouda soup. All of their soups are excellent, but this one is the best. We buy their whole bean coffee for the house as well. Really, really good. Finally, for me, it’s a great place to study because of the quiet atmosphere. They used to be open until midnight, which would really have helped me out on several occasions, but I guess the lack of business at that hour dictated otherwise.

Bland coffee. Not impressed. I’m from seattle so maybe I’m just spoiled with great coffee! Plus there was a piece of foil wrapper in my latte!

The cinnamon roll won«The Best of San Antonio». I didn’t try their espresso, but their medium roast on drip was decent. I still think Local Coffee and Cuppencake have the best coffee in San Antonio.

One of the best omelettes I have had that I did not make myself. Glad Ray is not selling cars and in the kitchen. Was in town for spring break with kids and wife and about to head back to Houston when we found this place on Unilocal.Everyone was pleased. Children had cinnamon rolls as big as their faces. Ingredients were fresh, and the coffee was top-notch. If you like Starbucks, don’t come here. Great to see family-run business that’s passionate about food.

I frequent this spot and love their coffee! They have a relaxed atmosphere and you can really chill with some hookah if you want! The pesto pasta with chicken is super tasty and an amazing portion. Best drink: Frozen caramel de Lexie with whip cream!

Terrible service. One drink order before me, eight after me. Instead of making drinks, the one girl behind the counter just kept on taking orders. Therefore in 10 minutes, my warm food out on the counter, and she hadn’t even gotten to the drinks and the bakery Items. Then she started making orders for people well after me and boxing them up and giving them to them. I asked her to give me my drinks since my food with now cold and she said«I’ll be right there» and she still took two more orders then finally started making my drink. The food so far is decent. The iced raspberry mocha and iced mocha are far too sweet. I watched her open the bottle and haphazardly pour syrup. I also saw that this small drink gets a HALF a weak shot. This was on Valentines morning, so I will try them one more time. But get ready to hurry up and wait. Oh and their online website is not accurate.

I went into Tazas today because it was 11am and I still hadn’t had a coffee. I walked in and people were smoking hookah. I am probably the only person in the world who thinks hookah is stupid, but it’s not my life. Toke up, my friends. The girl at the counter was nice enough, but not really knowledgable about the menu. Maybe she was new, who knows. I ordered the half of the tomato/mozzarella/chicken panini and a cup of the soup of the day which was mushroom Brie, and a «grande» caramel machiato. I didn’t want too long, which was nice. However when she was done making my coffee, she just set it on the counter. I had my back to her so I didn’t know until I turned around and saw it there. I was sitting like 5 feet away, so I’m not sure why she felt she couldn’t tell me my drink was ready. Whatever. Not a big deal. The soup was AWESOME. I’m a sucker for anything mushroom or Brie, so this Eating this was as if heaven and earth briefly touched. The only complaint about the soup was that it needs to be thicker. A soup like that is expected to be rich, so don’t water it down. The panini was really really good, although I felt like cherry tomatoes was a weird choice. I personally would’ve done sundried, but I’m not a cook so I guess I can’t say much. The combo came with some kettle style chips and two baby dills, which was nice but I would have preferred a big kosher spear. Again, not a cool so I’ll just eat the pickles and shut up. I paid $ 15 for my coffee, soup and sandwich. Not a bad deal, considering I spend way more at Starbucks. I do agree that a «Grande» which is their biggest size, should be bigger. It’s their biggest size, but is the size of a Grande at SB. For the price, I feel like you could pour that shiz in a bigger cup and given me a little more. But either way, it was good coffee. I should’ve asked for an extra shot like I do at SB, but I didn’t know if it would be strong and didn’t want to have a caffeine freak out All in all, I think I will be back. I though the prices were fair and the food was good. Hopefully next time the staff will know a little more about the menu, and feel confident enough to let me know my coffee is ready.

Tried this place again. Coffee is still weak. Might as well give me just a cup of hot water. Had their twice baked potato soup. It was good but looked like maybe once baked. Still very good though, just too thin for my preference. Maybe because I hear«twice baked» anything and automatically think it’ll be thicker and creamier. Their cinnamon roll tho. That in itself is worth the drive here. I’d body slam my gf for the last piece of cinnamon roll if it came to that.

Man, the atmosphere and vibe at Taza seems to be declining on the quick. I hadn’t been in in quite some time — several months, at least — but popped in the other day to introduce The Fella to the glory that IS a Taza cinnamon roll(which was, indeed, still absolutely glorious). I was absolutely hooked from the get-go by the whiteboard announcement of a peanut butter mocha(also divine), but there’s just an overall grubby, dirty feel to the place now, and handwritten admonishments all over the place… In conjunction that all just makes for a really off-putting ambience. If I hadn’t already been planning on taking my order to go, that vibe would have convinced me to do so. My largest-available coffee was significantly smaller than a Starbuck’s venti, and they don’t stock any non-dairy alternative milks other than soy(Sigh. Who even drinks soy anymore? Coconut, almond, hemp, rice… give me *something* to choose that will neither incite a lactose intolerance episode, nor give any of my dude-peoples moobs, pleaseandthankies!) The bill, however, was larger than I remember from past visits.. $ 11 and change for a cinnamon roll and a smallish«largest» mocha. Meh. Service was also an issue — the counter was staffed by only one lady(albeit, a perfectly pleasant lady) who was handling the taking of orders, running food to the floor, and barista duties solo — made for a 40 minute«quick stop» for a to-go coffee, and I was the only person in line when I arrived. I still totally dig the food and coffee, and will more likely than not be back. But only on paydays. And not to eat in. It’s definitely lost some of its former lustre.

Looking for an after bbq and Thai food gorge, coffee today, I found my way to Pat Booker road and this beautiful building. Beautifully designed and fairly spacious(cubed footage wise, not necessarily the seating areas), the back bar area was clean and well laid out. There were very tasty looking deserts in the display. I passed this time because I wanted the perfect espresso or cappuccino. I wasn’t caring which. After hearing another coffee aficionado Unilocaler always talking about cortados, americanos, and other Greek to me terms – I chose today to start the journey. I asked for a Cortado, but I had to explain I wanted a double espresso with a little warm milk on top. It was not on the menu, but the barista made it for me. What I feared the most did happen to me: the milk was cold, which made the whole thing even less than room temperature. I was disappointed but didn’t say anything. I’m not dinging the place because of this. The coffee itself was bitter and weak. I could still taste that acidity and bitterness 30 minutes later on my palate. It will take a lot for me to venture away from Emily’s Coffee Place in Cibolo, which serves a strong smooth latte or cappuccino. With prices here in the mid $ 3 range, I just don’t see myself coming here for a latte, unless I was in the area. They have hookah – if you are into that, and that lounge area was nice. Drinks: Tall double espresso $ 2.50 with milk(cortado) Touchdown: — Free wifi — Spacious layout with modern décor — Delicious deserts Drips: — Bitter/weak coffee — Lack of intimate seating
