It is nice to have a Thai restaurant in Green, Ohio. Clean, quiet and close. The other Basil is in Canton which is only 10 minutes further away, and it’s noisy. Green’s Basil food was tasty, mostly. Dumplings were rubbery. Their sauce was good. Chicken Satay With Peanut Sauce skewers were OK; they were tasty but had no «zip». We were served generous portions compared to usual for Chicken Satay With Peanut Sauce. Basil’s Rice — is good. Not sure it was Jasmine rice, though. Main — I ordered a typically very spicy Thai dish called Thai Basil Chicken(pad kra pao gai). I asked for their usual spice level. Waitress said it was a 4 out of ten.(?!!) So I asked for 6 out of 10. Typically, I believe it is usually about a 7 out of ten, at least. I was served about a 4 out of ten on the spice scale. I was disappointed. I also saw no intact basil leaves and could barely distinguish the basil. I would not label this place as «Tired Thai», but it was so dumbed down. The waitress was very good. The wine list need to have some mid-range wines. I still liked the place, but I do prefer Vi-Li’s in Canal Fulton.

The hidden treasure of Green! Small, and unassuming, this restaurant delivers on flavor and value. Sushi appetizer rocked. Had the Lomein with peanut sauce. Nice size portions as well. Staff was friendly and attentive. We will be back! Also, the«Astro Boy» painting is way cool!

Went to this place on a lark after unable to visit another Asian fusion restaurant in Portage Lakes. Very very good and inexpensive sushi rolls. I had a big bowl of phở and Lisa had a delightful curry dish. And of course Lisa needed to have a mai tai! Cute out of the way place with funky artwork on the walls and an extremely helpful wait staff. Check it out if you’re down in Green.

I happen to stumble upon this place when on Lunch from a training class. What a find. The pad Thai was the best I’ve had in some time. They had a sushi special so I indulged in that also. The food quality was great and the good was awesome. I will go again.

Great food. Good drinks. Great staff. Any restaurant that has Astroboy paintings automatically gets a 4 star rating.

Ick. That is the first word that comes to mind when I think of this glorified Chinese food restaurant masquerading as a Thai restaurant! I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with tofu and the Tom Yum soup with veggies. The soup was almost all broth. It was way too salty so I only had a few spoonfuls of broth, one piece or broccoli and one bit of a baby carrot. I dumped the rest in a strainer. There was half a cup of veggies… mostly peas and bamboo shoots. The Pad Kee Mao had 4 red pepper pieces, 3 pea pods a couple broccoli stems and a good amount of mushrooms, tofu and grease! The entire dish was brown and greasy with two flavors… grease and black licorice(presumably anise?) from time to time. Thai is supposed to be light and delicious. This was not that! It is exactly what you’d expect for a strip mall Chinese take-out place only those are usually cheaper. Customer service? Not really going to comment on mine as my girl was new so I will cut her some slack. However, while waiting for my order, another woman came in. She asked«is there silverware in here?» The employee(presumably one who has been there awhile) said in an annoyed voice«uh I don’t know. There should be.» The customer opened the bag and sure enough what«should be» was not there. I will not return.

Really good. The Basil Stir Fry with beef was basically perfect. Also the spicy yellowtail roll is fantastic. Eat it.

I had the vegetable tempura as an appetizer. Everything was done well and the sauces both went well with it. My main entrée was a rice noodle selection. The chicken was cooked well, the vegetables were once again delicious and the sauce was a good compliment. The décor is soothing and well put together. Only aspect that keeps me from giving them 5 stars was that the service is a bit slow at times. Overall, this is an outstanding restaurant, which is ironic seeing as it’s tucked away in the plaza.

My second experience with this establishment, I ordered carry out for Valentine’s Day dinner and spent $ 40.00 on food. I ordered General Taos for myself a Volcano Roll as well as Pad Thai for my girlfriend. Mind you I have heard great things about this restaurant and have had an okay experience in the past. The General Taos was supposed to come with brown rice, when I got back to my house there was no rice to be found. I called Basil promptly and asked about it, all that they offered was to take my name. They said I could come back and they would give me a complimentary brown rice on my next visit, I offered to come pick up my rice and they said they were out of brown rice. This is supposed to be a high quality restaurant and they can’t even be up front with their customers about not having brown rice when they give them their carry out and then they don’t even try to offer a discount or make it right that night? The food itself was sub par. For $ 40 I expected the General Taos to not be so chewy or crunchy. The Pad Thai was very stuck together and dry. I enjoyed the Volcano Roll, but as far as presentation it was smashed together with some aluminum foil, and look hideous. I hope that this is not the norm at this restaurant, but I’m definitely not excited to go back. Hopefully this review is a wake up call for this relatively new to Green establishment. Word of mouth can have an impact on business especially if the quality of food does not meet the price.

Greeting was very friendly and the inside was cool with animé art and clean lines. Our server, Mandalay, was very attentive each time we were there. She was helpful and made great suggestions. I’ve had sushi(sweet potato, spicy tuna and California), curry(avacado, red and Siam) with beef(probably the first time I have ever had beef in curry) and steamed dumplings. I kicked my curry up a notch and thought it was perfect. The steamed dumplings were soft with great sauce. It’s well priced, although I would probably only come for lunch prices. This will be my first stop after each landing at Akron Canton Airport.

The staff was friendly and the sushi was pretty good. I tried the avocado curry based on recommendations I had seen on here. It quite literally tasted like the smell of Pledge surface cleaner… And to top it off, early the next day I was stricken with food poisoning… Needless to say I won’t be returning, as simply writing this review is causing my stomach to turn again…

I am obsessed. I have eaten here twice a day before! I am a vegetarian and the choices are endless. I can not get enough of the avocado curry and the sweet potato roll. This place does the spice level perfectly, the Thai hot is firery and delicious. It’s nice that beer and wine are available. I can’t wait to go back! Mandalay is awesome.

Food — I think that quality ingredients are used in the preparation of their dishes. Everything tasted fresh. Our dishes had just the right amount of spice and seasonings. One of the best Asian fusion restaurant around. They also have some the best hot tea we’ve had. Décor — very nicely decorated. Service — we had a great experience.

Love this place! Food is really good, nice size portions, it is pricey but totally worth it because you walk out stuffed and have lunch for the next day. Staff is friendly and we are regulars here, definitely a hidden gem!

Excellent new Thai/sushi/Asian diner in the heart of green. Hope they are here to stay! Currently lacking a liquor license, otherwise this place is my new favorite! My wife its sitting across from me eating the crunch roll and just said«i want to slap someone this is so good». I have not been slapped as of this writing, however I am on high alert. Update: beer and wine are here! Woo! Update 2: the old red zin is the boooombb!
