Mr Green Bubble

I really enjoy coming here. I love the décor they have currently and love the wide variety of drinks they offer on their menu. I got a mango black tea and it was great! The boba bubbles were so soft as well! I’ll be coming back soon!

I love coming to Mr. Green Bubble for lunch! My wife and I love the ability to customize every detail, and the employees are cheerful and happy to serve no matter how detailed you get. I usually get unsweetened Jasmine Milk Tea with some kind of jelly and then get me some of them Calamari Rings spicy level 4!
They also offer free Wi-​Fi, a lot of board games, and a UHD TV. They also have sauces and stuff.
Another thing that keeps us coming back is that this is the only Milk Tea place I’ve been to that has a combo system: if you buy any food, the Jasmine and regular Milk Tea are much cheaper. I recommend the Popcorn Chicken. It’s delicious, spicy, and they give you a great amount.

They close at midnight? But when my and my friend got there around 9:30 to order some garlic fries they said «kitchen is closed» it’s too early to close the kitchen, they should’ve close it 30 mins before they close and plus their milk tea isn’t all that.

I wanted a taro smoothie but it tasted like a taro slushy. Too much little chunks of ice when I sip and I didn’t even really taste the taro.

My niece loves this place. Extra star is that they usually have deals either Unilocal or whatever they have in store, yay for saving money!
The drinks are okay for me though. Yet I’m not a boba expert so maybe it’s just me. I like how you can control the sweetness. Their popcorn chicken is goooood and they give you a lot. I also like how they really use real tea.
Service can be so-​so. But better than other places around the area.

The service was okay. The place for seating is not big, but the essence of the place was quite nice :) I ordered blueberry tea flavored decaf which for me it taste like water. I cannot taste the fruit that much. The food was quite good though. I like the popcorn chicken, but be careful with the spiciness level. If you cannot handle spicy that much, try level 1 or not spicy. Level 2 for me is really my limit and I drank a lot because its too spicy.

I heard a lot of great things about Mr. Green Bubble so I decided to try it out. Not going to lie the 10% off for checking in was definitely a plus for me to go as well. Let’s be honest who doesn’t like to save a bit so they can use that towards a large drink.
Anyways, whenever I go to a new boba place I always start with a Milk Tea with boba to see how it tastes. My friend ordered a Carmel Milk Tea and we also got the calamari as well.
I was fairly surprised by how good the milk tea was! It was perfect! I am huge on milk teas where I can really taste the tea and this was just the way I like it. The boba consistency was great as well.
The thing that I liked the most was the calamari. It was not heavily battered at all. Instead it was lightly bartered and very flavorful. The pieces of Calamari were really thick. So I’m assuming they cut the squid themselves. It’s fried with basil which gives it an extra flavor. It’s really hot when they give it to you, so make sure to let it cool a bit before eating. I highly recommend the calamari if you’re looking for something to snack on with your drink!
They are really a shop that follows their motto as well!

Love this place! I knew of this location because of their Oakland location and they do $ 1 refills! I don’t know if the Oakland does it but the UC location does for sure! My fave of all is the fresh taro milk. This is the first place I knew to do this a few years ago and now I see it everywhere!
I believe they have a lavender one too!

I love this place. This has to be one of the best boba places I have yet gone to. I love that they use real tea instead of powder. They have a great variety of different teas and also decaffeinated ones as well. They allow you to smell the tea leaves which is great so you can get a sense of how it will taste when you get your drink. They have smoothies, juices as well. their snacks are really good. They have the usual popcorn chicken which you can choose how spic you would want ranging from a 1 – 5 scale. I chose 2 and for me it was a good spicy for my taste. Different other snacks like calamari, waffles, the little eggettes, and also takoyaki and in different flavors.
Alot of high schoolers do come here since it is down the street from one. Very clean, very modern and also very green. They do have a few tables to sit down inside but have a couple outside as well. They have games if you are staying and hanging out longer than just waiting for your order to be ready. They play decent music, and also have a flat screen tv, which most of the time they play netflix.

Idk, I don’t see the hype yall. It’s a pretty below-​average milk tea place that has quite abysmal service times (even when they’re completely empty on a weeknight). Sorry I’m hating. But why should it take 25 min to get 2 milk teas + popcorn chicken when yall empty af?! + dirty tables so we had to get the snacks to go.
Yeah, not a fan and would recommend sliding thru to other milk tea locations for better service, quality of snacks + milk tea + cleanliness.

Just adding that I get the Matcha + Red Bean smoothie now pretty much every time. They blend it all together so it has a really cool texture. I get pearls in there cause their pearls are always perfect. It’s really fresh and earthy and sweet at the same time.
Also tried their house black and it’s solid as well!

Of the currently 5 (6, if you count Jenjon’s) spots selling milk tea at the Alvarado Niles-​Decoto intersection, Mr. Green Bubble is easily my favorite and the one I visit most often.
The décor is light and cute, with lots of wood and green accents. Employees are courteous and usually helpful with menu advice, if not particularly outgoing or chatty, which is fine by me. They use Belly for rewards. Each check-​in earns you 5 points, and you can cash them in for rewards starting with 20 points. You can also buy a second drink (of the same type) for $ 2.50 within 3 hours. Seating is somewhat limited (~18), but I often bring my laptop and am able to snag a seat to get some work done for a few hours, as long as it’s not overrun by students from nearby Logan at the time.
The menu includes many different types of actual tea (oolong, earl gray, assam, ceylon, etc.), rather than being full of various syrupy flavors. My go-​to is Jasmine milk tea, 25% sweet, with pearls ($ 3.25). I have little patience for boba shops that can’t make a decent jasmine, but that’s not a problem here. Plus, I appreciate that 25% sweet tastes like a perfect «slightly sweet», compared to places like Sharetea where the 30% is still overbearingly sweet in my opinion.
The popcorn chicken and tofu are great snack choices here. Both come in generous portions. They also offer waffles ($ 2.75−4.99) and takoyaki ($ 4.99 for 6) in 4 different flavors.
I think Mr. Green Bubble is often overshadowed by Sharetea, but if you’re looking for tea that isn’t heavily masked by cream or sugar, this is your place.

Very disappointed with their thai milk tea. It didn’t have the thai flavor at all, and it was a bit watered down. The boba was okay, it was not fresh though. It was a bit mushy texture, not the chewy texture that you usually get. However, their popcorn chicken tasted pretty good. It was really crispy, and you actually taste meat, not just batter. They also add basil into your chicken for extra flavor, and you get to choose how spicy you want your chicken. I got #2 spicy. Also, their portion was good and the price was fair compared to other places I’be been too. Overall, popcorn chicken was 4 stars and milk tea was 2 stars.

Love their eggettes (egg puffs)! Best out of all the ones I’ve tried so far around the area. Very clean place with neat interior design. Their chandeliers are made out of a bunch of clear bubbles! The tea tastes pretty average. Not too sweet, not watery. Tapioca is nice and chewy.
Main reason why I gave this place 4 stars is because of the location & eggettes! This place is on the way to my university so it’s nice to grab a quick milk tea before class :)

House milk tea is my default milk tea. HOWEVER, Assam milk tea, half sweet is pretty darn good. The white grape drink tastes like candy. I’d skip the Thai tea though; maybe Thai tea is too sweet for me nowadays.

FOOD:
Crispy chicken is decent. Good portion, crispy, and has some basil leaves. It’s almost like the UC TapEx chicken.
Takoyaki is okayyyyy. It was weird having corn/​peas/​carrots in them though.
Prices are comparable. They don’t have a stamp card but use Belly.
Staff is friendly and competent (lack of a better adjective. I mean «competent» in the best way possible). No complaints there.
The store is as cold or warm as the outside. The doors are often open. At least the store is quieter than «hipper» spots like TapEx.

I have to be honest, the first time I came here, I thought it was on the same level as Quickly’s and TapEx… But after giving it a chance and coming 3 more times, I’m happy to say that if at first you don’t succeed, then dust yourself off and try it again and again and again.
My default drink is always a Jasmine Milk Tea. After ordering this my first time here and being terribly disappointed I told myself I would never come back since it’s literally a waste of money. However, since some establishments started giving you the option of tea strength, I decided to give this spot one more try and ordered the Lychee Milk Tea with more tea than milk and I was pleasantly surprised. I took a sip and that pleasant aromatic lychee taste filled my mouth with the perfect bit of sweetness. Their Peach Oolong Tea is pretty good as well and their honey boba is always cooked perfectly soft with the right amount of chewiness.
+1 for their great deal at the bottom of their receipt: «come back within 3 hours of purchasing your drink and get a refill for only $ 2.50» Not bad for a bobz inhaler like me! Also, they have great deals for combos! You can get a Jasmine Milk Tea or a Thai Tea for $ 1.50 or $ 2.50 (depending on what size) when you order their deep fried snacks.

Mr. Green Bubble is my new go-​to boba place! It’s a clean and modern space with lots of drink and snack options.
I ordered the Jasmine Green w/​cream Lattea. It’s comparable to the Green Tea Creama at Sharetea. The cream is thick and with matcha green tea powder. The drink had the right amount of sweetness and flavor.
I also had the chicken and the fried tofu. Both were really good and they give you a lot.
Overall, this place has great drinks and snacks with reasonable prices and good value.
Tip: Check in at Unilocal for free toppings!

The décor is really modern and the service was very friendly but I guess I just don’t like the tea. It seemed to take a little long to make my drink. I will certainly give it another try to see if I just got it on a wrong day.
Inside I found people playing board games but there weren’t many choices for games and it appeared many games were missing pieces. There isn’t much seating inside either. This is a nice place to take your drink to go and come back for your 1 $ refill in within 2 hours!

I feel like your experience at Mr. Green Bubble can be a hit or miss, depending on the type of drink you order.
I ordered the Taro Milk Tea and it was a bit bland for my liking. However, one of my friends who doesn’t like sweets loved my Taro drink and wanted to order it before he left.
Another friend ordered the Champagne Tea and thought it was a bit watered down with a «glazed donut after taste.»
Despite the drinks, my friends and I had a great time playing card games available at their board games/​card games shelf. We stayed there for about 2 to 3 hours, playing games, catching up, and having a chill time.
