So my wife and I love sushi and this is our favorite sushi spot. The service is GREAT. All the cooks and the servers are awesome. My favorite roll is the Himalaya. I could have 3 of them and probably explode from sheer joy. My wife’s favorite is Midnight Sun, also quite delicious. The rest are pretty great but we always work in the Himalaya and Midnight Sun. ;)

Their Chirashi Bowl is awesome. You get a lot of fish and the sushi rice has some great seasoning. It’s way cheaper than you would get anywhere else so plus one for that too. The only knock is that parking can be a bit of a thing, and they don’t serve alcohol, but that second bit is not a real ding. It would just be nice to have a sapporo with my bowl. :)

Some of the best sushi Orange County has to offer. We got the Himalayas rolls and it was literally an explosion of flavors. #newfavoriteroll. We will be back.

This place when it opend was great. Good sushi but downside was no beer… i went to go try it again and it was really bad. first of all the service was no there… but i can work with that. What killed their rating was the taste of refrigerator all of my cuts had that is including the ginger. Everything was pourly presented like if you were in a fast food restaurant. I would not recomend this place to any sushi lover. Stay away if you want to be disappointed. Its equal or less than gas station sushi.

We used to frequent Orange Roll & Sushi twice a month for a 4-dollar salmon roll or their salmon bowl because it was surprisingly fresh, and yet they weren’t stingy w. fish-to-rice ratios. It should be noted that we’ve always been greeted warmly + waiters have been kind(except for a hot-tempered older Korean lady we never saw again). Recently, however, the yellowtail wasn’t fresh at all, leaving my stomach torn up. The salmon also arrived warm… specifically, much warmer than room temp. They used to be consistent, so we may try again after a respite. A quick note: As with all places I review, I do my best to rate them with their restaurant type in mind. You can’t place a fast-casual sushi place next to a place that does delightful course meals, kaiseki, omakase… or even next to a mid-range priced sushi restaurant that’s of good quality. In this case, one needs to understand Orange Roll is the former: not there to blow your mind, but is there for a fast salmon fix. They don’t pretend to be more than that as well.

Second time giving this place a try and unfortunately still not very impressed To be honest I would give 2.5 stars for the overall experience but I’ll give a 3 instead of a 2 for nice staff and good service(we had to wait a bit so they gave us a free appetizer, and they checked up on us often and were friendly) Service is good and portions are large, but the large roll size was more cumbersome than impressive. Fish quality is not that great, it’s just eh. Sauces aren’t that great either(ordered a sunset roll) — the flavors weren’t very«wow». Prices are relatively cheap too; the most expensive roll is 10.95 but I guess you get what you pay for? Definitely a casual lunch sushi spot for me, but my favorite casual lunch spot I’ve been to that actually has pretty decent quality is Mika near Main Place. Won’t be coming back to Orange Roll, sorry :(I tried!

When the girls want rolls or some take home sushi, this has become a go-to spot. The rolls are really large and tasty, with good combos and sauces. Lot of them are variations of a California roll, but there ar other options if you(like me) are not into the fake crab. The sushi itself comes in really large portions, but the fish itself is middle of the road. For basic fish like salmon, there probably isn’t much difference between what is here and what is at any othe moderate sushi joint.

We love Orange Roll! From the service, to the amazing quality of their salmon, to the teriyaki bowls, they remain our favorite go-to sushi joint. We have dined in and also ordered take out. Each time, the food keeps a consistent quality as does the staff. I love to get their salmon nigiri sushi, and I like how they always give me an extra cut of salmon on each piece. My husband likes their teriyaki bowls, the Baja crunch roll, rainbow roll, and the classic orange roll. The parking lot can be busy with patrons from the other establishments, and it’s a bit rough because I’m not sure if there is other parking around aside from 3 street spots. I’ve seen some people park across the street and walk over. Overall, you don’t know what you’re missing if you haven’t eaten here!

Came here for dinner with a few friends on a Monday night. There’s plenty of seats inside I think for what it is. The place is not too dark, though it’s a little chilly inside. Baked mussels: these were really good and really unhealthy, basically covered in the mayo sauce. I’d get it again. Himalayan roll: best thing we had, but you have to be a cream cheese fan. It’s a semi-baked roll and really delicious. Orange roll: a-okay, but will probably pass next time. It’s overall not that exciting. Salmon bowl: a lot of us got this just because we like Salmon and they give a lot! But it does get boring pretty quick as there’s not really any spice or different flavors in the bowl. It would probably be good if they had some seaweed salad or something as an accompaniment.

Just ate here and got sick have the runs 10 mins later… stomach is bugging out. Friendly staff… Food though… Had«spicy» tuna handroll was ok. No spiciness bland 2nd had Volcano roll. Very disappointed. Too many fried onions on top, lack of salmon on Top. very thin. Did i mention Over kill on onions and rice. Not worth it for the price. Also, just got home, thank goodness just in time… Because this place gave me the runs… Run away from this place …

So this location won’t make sushi or hand rolls to order. This is really surprising since the place purports to be a sushi bar! Don’t try to order a California hand roll with any kind of fish in it because they won’t do it. They will only serve pre-made rolls that appear on the menu. No substitutions or special requests. When this place opened it was usually pretty crowded. It isn’t anymore and now I know why. It’s not good. Additionally, the rolls are $ 10 – 12 each and are not the same as the other location in Orange. They are smaller and don’t have the same quality in terms of ingredients or craftsmanship. Give this place a miss. There are other restaurants in the area with sushi that tastes better, and that are actually interested in customer service.

Went here with a group of friends on a Tuesday night & had an awesome time! They have combos all day(Mon-Fri) for $ 10 where you’re able to get enough to fill you up. WHATWEATE: — Seafood Udon(+3/5) This is what I ordered. It had good amount of museels, squid & other seafood inside of it. You can’t really go wrong with an udon bowl! — Salmon Bowl(+4.5/5) My friend LOVED his salmon bowl. They are so generous with the pieces of salmon they give out — I think he counted 9 pieces? My friend who recommended this place to me also raved about how so much salmon comes on this bowl. — Orange Roll(+4/5). My friend ordered this and said that it was pretty cool. I’m guessing it’s one of their most popular rolls, based on its name. SERVICE: The food came out within 5 – 10 minutes! & the servers were extremely attentive and so friendly! PARKING: This location is in a small plaza where there’s plenty of parking. Happy sushi-ing!

First time and I like it! Friendly service, descent sushi and affordable pricing. It’s not a fancy place but perfect for a casual lunch or quick dinner. They have a nice flow of customers, but over crowded. If they only served saki or wine…

Fresh fish and generous portions! I love love love their salmon bowl, which is what I almost always order. The slices are thick, delicious, and so fresh tasting. Their rolls are pretty unique and tasty as well. My friends and I typically will order our own bowls and share a roll or two. You can pretty much find a roll that will cater to your tastes since they have a lot of variety. Personally, I really like the Orange Roll, which is good if you’re a fan of salmon. This one doesn’t have any mayo or those extra sauces, and since it also has lemon, it tastes super clean/fresh. Autumn and Amber Roll are also good if you’re looking for more flavor. Friendly servers, and consistently good. One of my faves!

Helen– Well thank you for trying to get out of the situation and unbelievably say that I’m lying! I can’t believe you guys would put people’s health at risk and say it was a sesame seed! I’m sorry but I’m far from stupid I know what the difference is between a sesame seed and a roach! People please if you read this DONOTGO eat there! These people don’t have the courtesy of admitting of there faults! I seriously hope no one gets sick from eating there! I actually like eating there but not after that incident! Will never even go eat there or anywhere near there if they have roaches I’m sure the businesses near there so to! Disgusting!

This restaurant was a bad experience for me from the get go. I came here during my hour lunch and it was frustrating because there was absolutely no parking when I arrived at around noon. The parking lot was completely full and they were all limited to just«thirty minutes to one hour only» anyway. We were really determined to have sushi for lunch so we gave in and ended up parking down the street and walking to the restaurant. As we walked into the restaurant, I suppose they were really busy because nobody greeted us and the employees behind the counters only had eyes that stared at us. I waved down a waiter and the only available table was the ones outside. As I was dining outside, I questioned on why they even offer outside seating when they never checked up us. I had to request the waiter for all the essentials to have a decent meal including plates, soy sauce, utensils, etc after the food came out already. I also had to get up myself to get my own fork, to-go container, check, and give them my check. As I got up and requested the cashier for my check, she just handed it to me and didn’t even thank me or said a word as a matter of fact. The customer service here was definitely a 1 on a 1 to 10 scale. The employees here also work as if they have no sense of urgency. I’m sorry but I only have an hour for lunch and from the moment I walked up to the cashier, retrieved my check and gave them my credit card, they made us wait about 30 minutes!!! I ended up being late to work, not cool. Now on to the food… My friend ordered the teriyaki plate and the chicken came out cold, which is so frustrating and disgusting. The sushi rolls came out and they were really just average, but probably had more rice than normal. I’ve had better and worse at other sushi places. Nothing stood out to me. The fried onion that topped my roll was super stale and many other Unilocalers mentioned that their salmon skin was stale… Makes me worried because sushi restaurants should always be fresh…

My expectations were a little high for this place, and the rolls were decent, but nothing special. Nothing here wowed me. This location has no sushi bar to sit at, just small tables. The service was fine. Miso soup: It was your typical miso soup, not too salty. My friend wasn’t happy with the temperature as it was served lukewarm. She asked for hotter, but they were unable to because it was all cooked in one pot. Seawed salad: Basically the seaweed salad served on top of a house salad with a dressing on the side. I’m used to being served just the seaweed, but this is good if you want a bigger salad. Orange roll: inside had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado outside: salmon and lemon. The salmon didn’t taste too fresh, didn’t have enough lemon on top or even on all of it, but had a good sauce. Decent roll, but I wouldn’t order it again. Amber roll: suggested by server as one of the more popular rolls. In: krabmeat, shrimp tempura. out: krabmeat and crunch. on top was a sauce and a dot of sriracha on each roll. Best roll, but probably wouldn’t order again.

Every time I drive by Orange Roll near dinner time the place is packed… So of course I had to give it a try. My family’s Japanese heritage puts us in the difficult to please category when it comes to sushi, but Orange Roll lived up to their busy crowds and hype. The service: Service definitely needs improvement. We were served ramen and 2 sushi rolls before receiving plates or soy sauce dishes. That’s a problem especially since the rolls are so scrumptious looking… that once they hit the table we just wanted to dig in but had to wait. Torture! The rolls: Excellent! We order the autumn, volcano and orange. You can’t go wrong with any of them! The menu does mention that the autumn and volcano are spicy, but I didn’t get a hint of spice. The volcano roll comes with a fried jalapeño which tasted like bell pepper it was so mild… But nonetheless loved it! The autumn and volcano rolls are bursting with flavor and I can’t wait to eat them again. If you are looking for a delicate fresh flavor order the orange roll. It’s a simple roll with all raw ingredients. There is a thin slice of lemon that adds a pop of flavor. Overall the rolls are all delicious, huge, and decently priced. Win win win! Salmon skin salad: Tasty salad but my only complaint is that the salmon skin needs to be wayyyyy more crispy! Spicy seafood ramen: Great amount of seafood and great spicy kick. Fresh noodles would definitely make this dish a winner but can’t complaint too much but the price was good. Well, I’m excited about the leftovers and to go back with more people so I can try even more of the menu :)

On a Saturday afternoon, I found myself really craving Sushi for lunch. I just moved into the area and don’t really know much about Sushi places around here, so I resorted to my BFF Unilocal.I decided on Orange Roll & Sushi due to the awesome reviews. I wasn’t disappointed! As soon as we walked in, we chose to sit by the window. Our server immediately brought us a menu and we placed our drink order. I ordered the Salmon hand roll and the orange roll. My husband had the Mexicana. We chatted and about 15 minutes later we were brought our food. WOW! The food is excellent. They really don’t hold back on the fish. My absolutely loved the Salmon hand roll with cream cheese. The orange roll with a hint of lemon was also delicious and so fresh. My husband loved his roll so much he didn’t even give me a chance to try it, lol. My only complaint is that the roll should be cut a bit smaller. They’re really hard to eat and disintegrate midway to my mouth because they’re so big, hehe. As well, there was a fly that kept annoying us. Bugs will be bugs. Overall, this place is perfect to satisfy a Sushi craving. You get plenty and quality food for a very affordable price and very friendly service. If you’re in the area and craving some Sushi, I definitely recommend it!
