Surfas Ltd. Furriers

I went in there to just get some information on a coat I bought at a vintage store. Mr. Surfas was very nice ans helpful. He was full of information and very willing to share all of his knowledge. I will be going back to him!

Mr. Surfas is a knowledgeable professional in a shrinking industry. Although I have neither the means nor desire to buy new furs, I have inherited several vintage pieces. I’d gotten a fur stole from my grandmother and wanted to get some use out of it, but it had some seam tears and ripped orange lining (probably because we used to play dress-​up with it as kids) and I wasn’t really sure if it was worth saving. Mr. Surfas informed me that it was dyed muskrat, and wasn’t past its useful life. He cleaned the fur, which gave it a new luster, and relined it in a chic chocolate fabric. He also suggested that I bring in anything else I had when I picked up the stole to find out what kinds of furs I have and what I could do with them. Based on his advice, I’m looking forward to getting a really ugly, dated coat turned into a blanket or pillows in the future.
