Food was just okay. But very good service. Don’t forget check in for the free dessert. Doesn’t like other places, mizu give you a two scoop ice cream dessert with wipe cream. I gave their free check in dessert an extra star!

I came in again with my boyfriend it was a sub par dining experience. Such a shame because I was saying such good things about this chain from up north. They close at 10 and we walked in at 9:20. Apparently they had late night happy hour going on at the bar but we chose to be seated at a table and eat from the normal menu. We were rushed for«last call» for both drinks and food at 9:30. My boyfriend had to double up on beers and they brought both his beers out before I even got my cocktail. It was pretty dead inside but another couple was being seated when we first got there and another couple waked in after us. Food was pretty good. I asked for the rolls with light sauce since they tend to over sauce. As we were eating they kept coming to take away any plate we had grabbed the last morsel off of and my water glass was empty the whole meal. Everything was completely off the table by the time the check came. Plates, napkins, and even the soy sauce. What’s the point of encouraging late diners by having a late night happy hour that goes until closing if you don’t want anyone in there after 9:30? For a $ 70 check, we sure felt unwelcome. BF still tipped $ 20, but this place needs some work if it wants to do anywhere as well as the NorCal locations.

We made reservations for lunch on Fathers Day. Confirmed twice. They were NOTOPEN, and we were stuck in 100 degree heat with no place to go. Extremely unprofessional. We will not be trying again. Thanks for ruining the special day, Mizu.

Strengths: Cool fusion sushi place to take date or hanging out with buddies after work. They have some very good sushi rolls. Great place to drink and ordering rolls and other food. Menu extensive and a very cool club like atmosphere. So so: If you’re a sushi connoisseur this may not be the place for you.

Mizu’s food is the best! When I come here I like to sit at the bar. I don’t remember his name, but the bartender that works Tuesday nights has really good customer service. And his grapefruit martinis are AMAZING!

I marvel when a single server can man point for a group of 25 that rings up a $ 1000 bill. If it is even possible to have a choice in servers, try to get Holly for your table, she made our dining experience seamless. A party of 25 people out on the patio. People arriving at different times, ordering drinks at different times, ordering food at different times, wanting more drinks, a side of sriracha, extra plates and forks, more shot glasses. I don’t remember us asking twice for anything and everything that could appear within a minute or two did. That is amazing. Holly did not deliver every dish or drink refill(always good when there are others to help), but she took all of our orders and checked up on each and every one of us constantly. Tuna Tartar(Tuna, Green Onion, Oshinko, Spicy Mayo, Black Tobiko, Quail egg, Kaiware, Grape Seed Oil) — This is the dish that you see in everyone’s pictures and is the most beautiful dish in the restaurant. The portion does not look that big at first, but it was more than enough for two people. Tuna topped with black roe and a raw quail egg in the middle of that. The black tobiko made me feel like I was a Russian czar eating some exotic caviar(it’s not caviar). One can dream, but still worth getting because this dish is good. Super Spider Roll(Softshell Crab, Eel, Asparagus, Cucumber Roll, Spicy Tuna, Tempura Flakes, Tobiko, Unagi Sauce, Spicy Mayo, Sriracha) — This roll has just about all of my favorites and did not disappoint. Fried softshell crab and eel wrapped in rice and topped with spicy tuna and tempura flakes. A little sweet unagi sauce, a little creamy spicy mayo and a small drizzle of sriracha to give it a little go. Loved it. Sunkissed Roll(Spicy Tuna and Cucumber Roll, with Salmon, Avocado, Sunkissed Sauce) — No real wow factor with this roll, just a balanced mix of salmon, spicy tuna and avocado that makes this a tasty staple. I would order this again. The restaurant interior, is modern and clean, the outdoor patio has dining tables and a couch and fire pit. The bathrooms are really nice. Thanks again to the staff at Mizu for the great service and for being accommodating. It’s always hard to find a venue with good food that can fit a large group and it’s even harder to find one that can fit a large group and provide timely, friendly service to match. Mizu was able to do it all!

Tried this place on a last name basis because they had tables open. Me and the bf went here because gen and gyu were over 2 hrs wait so we decided to try it and were pleasantly surprised! Ok. So first of all my bf is VERY annoyingly picky. We came here because the reviews looked good and had a table ready under 2 hours! We were very surprised, i had the spicy tuna salad and a hawiian roll with some red wine which was amazing! I am watching my carb intake so this was the perfect thing for me to stay within healthy range and also enjoy a Friday night out. Upon receiving our food it was so good. My boyfriend(aka spicy food fiend). Was so happy to eat the specially provided extra spicy roll and also about the service. Ginger was AMAZING. She was so kind and. see and knowledgeable. Will definitely return!

Her name was Holly. This was where our night begins. Upon walking into this establishment, one would take notice of their ambient lighting and contemporary décor. Their style is quite trendy and chic. Their dishes will also depict this theme as well. More to come on this later. They have both indoor and out door service at this establishment with a full bar. I came here with a group of 25 – 30 Unilocalers, most are Elites, to celebrate the current month birthdays. As more of us shown up, settling down to order food can be quite tedious with this bunch. But somehow, Holly our server, made it happen with ease. We have been to several establishments with multiple servers handling us but this time around, Holly took the work load on her own and cruise through the process quite seamlessly. While to the common person, this would be an oversight. She is simply amazing! I just want to highlight the level of service that she rendered was nothing short of stellar. Amongst the confusion of people settling in, I managed to order food and my friends placed in their orders as well. Some confusion came about on who ordered what but in the end, we all shared the dishes and everyone had more than enough to get their fill. I love going out with our group because of the capability to try various items on the menu. One thing that was noticeable besides Holly’s amazing service, was the size of the rolls. They are massive! You must take this into account if you are trying to gauge your food intake. One roll will fill you up. Especially the rich sauce and/or flavored ones. Pair that with liquid and you are good for the night. One should be cautious of the size of these orders. In terms of presentation, I would give them a solid 3 – 3.5 stars. I noticed that most of the dishes that came out had a flower on it. While it did make the dish a little prettier, didn’t think it was necessary to have it hangout by the rolls. The sashimi part of the rolls are decent. Since its paired with sauce, rice and other various ingredients, I think the quality of the fish may have been lost in translation. Flavoring is more overwhelming than complimenting. Solid 3 stars on the taste of their dishes. You can see which was ordered and favorites in the captions below. In terms of décor, rating would be a solid 3.5−4 if there was a middle ground. Overall, I would have rated my entire experience here as a solid 3 in the category of sushi establishments. But considering the dynamics of our group and the capabilities of one individual that managed it, I had to award the one extra star solely for Holly. She did wonders tonight that elevated the experience to the next level. Holly, if you are reading this, thank you for an amazing night. I believe my group would have said the same about your level of service. I wish you well on your endeavors for what hopes and dreams may come.

The food here is pretty good but the portions are small and they’re expensive. What else would you really expect from a non-ayce sushi joint though? Presentation of food was well-prepared and appealing. Service was courteous, not too attentive and not too bothersome– just the right amount. Our server went over the menu in detail for us and explained some of their specials. Overall, a nice spot with a good ambiance.

OMG this is a hidden gem in the Tustin Marketplace. I cannot believe I didn’t discover this sooner! FOOD: Where to even BEGIN. Unagi Foie Gras Truffle Sushi: This is SUCH a party in your mouth, you HAVE to try it. I know the whole foie gras ordeal will bother some, however once this hits your taste buds, I can guarantee you that it won’t even cross your mind. Citrus Seared Salmon Sashimi, Halibut Carpaccio, Cajun Tuna Sashimi: Super fresh, great flavors, and very nicely plated Live Octopus Sashimi: This was SOFRESH. Really almost expected the dish to still be moving because of how fresh it was. Sashimi Salad: Was good, good portions of fish, but nothing too special Rainbow Blossom Roll: Probably my one disappointment with the whole meal. The server actually recommended this roll, but the roll was just so plain and basic, it lacked flavor compared to the other dishes we ordered. Sunkissed Roll: Sunkissed sauce is perfect with the tuna and salmon, it’s light and doesn’t weigh the fish down at ALLL SERVICE: Great service. The staff are all relatively young, friendly, and super easy to talk to. They offer free miso soup and have a rewards program as well! OVERALL: Fantastic experience, will definitely come again and do hope they keep changing up that special menu with more exotic sashimi!

Thought I would give Mizu a try after having a meeting in the area and needed to decompress a bit. ATMOSPHERE The restaurant is well decorated. Nice energy and inviting. I sat at the sushi bar as it was just myself and really wanted to get faster service. FOOD It was absolutely delicious. Yellowtail crudo was my favorite. The sushi was fresh. Plenty of inventive rolls to choose from. PARKING Plenty of parking in the lot, I did not feel that I had to use valet, but complimentary valet is available. SERVICE Everybody was pleasant and attentive. Sushi came out a little slow, but could have been an off night. I would definitely return and plan to make this my go-to restaurant when I’m in the area.

Just based on lunch yesterday. Came here in a Friday around lunch time. Large restaurant BUT it was pretty empty inside. I had the bento box with chix teriyaki and agedeshi tofu(2 items $ 11⁄3 items $ 14). Two large rectangular boxes came out filled with the two items I picked plus rice, salad and pickled cabbage. Good amount of chix they give you and it was juicy and moist, about 3 pieces of the tofu, warm and soft on the inside and salad was dressed nicely and really flavorful. My aunt ordered a seared tuna salad and my cuz ordered a crazy dragon roll. Everyones food came out first, including my bento box, except hers. We waited a while for it and thought it was really weird. I don’t know if they forgot but when it did come, she said it was really good. The only beef I have with this restaurant is that we’ve come here before for lunch, one visit we had lunch, the next they shoo’d us away and said they no longer do lunch, just dinner AND on one of those visits, the website said they start HH at a certain time and when we were there for a late lunch and it just so happened to be at HH, they didn’t honor it and said it starts at «x» time… Not what the website said.

The more I go to Tustin the more I like the place, and Mizu Sushi is now another reason why. Yesterday’s adventure found us in Irvine preparing for an executive meeting and visit, and with all the hustle and bustle associated with this, the team and I worked up quite an appetite. It’s funny because the group I was with was more of a Yard House type of crowd. The great part about this young team is however, that they’re trying to expand their Inland Empire shaped palates. And considering these guys are from California, what better way than to expand it into the world of raw fish, Japanese style: aka SUSHI! One quick search of Unilocal later and we we’re headed to choice number one in the long list of sushi restaurants in the area, MIZU sushi. Upon entry we were greeted by warm«irashyai…s» and seated quickly in a booth. I noticed a very japanese kisaten-ness to the menu and was impressed by their selection of «pick two» teishyoku options. I went with the chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki. Also ordered the sushi combo w a california roll. I have to tell you my expectations were definitely inflating after I placed my order, and when the food arrived a short time later, I was not let down at all. The katsu was PERFECT as well and the sauce even had a paprika-ness to it that kicked it to the next level. The teriyaki was on par and the sushi was GREAT! You know what a stickler I am for rice prep, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it done just right. The fish quality was acceptable and all-in-all, it lead to just a wonderful lunch. I will definitely be back for a dinner sometime w/BGE. Definitely modern and hip enough to entertain for sure. mata yoroshiku. M :)

My go-to local spot when I’m craving sushi… Good vibes, service is top-notch, there’s rarely a wait, fish is fresh, and their menu is creative. Also, I have the tendency to judge a sushi restaurant by how much I like their hotate(scallop) sushi and I ALWAYS order scallop here(weird, I know). Do yourself a favor & order the TUNATARTAR. It’s definitely a crowd pleaser and a great place to start. That quail egg on top is not just a good photo op, promise. Check out the special menu. Tonight, we were pleasured by the unagi(eel) & foie gras with shaved truffle. no other way to describe the melt-in-mouth experience. Feeling crafty? Make something special & ask to add a quail egg to your amaebi(sweet shrimp) sushi. Don’t be afraid to ask for anything you don’t see on the menu! In addition to the normal happy hour, Mizu offers a LATENIGHTHAPPYHOUR from 9pm to close, Monday through Saturday. which is great because I never leave the office early enough to make it to normal happy hours… And finally, Mizu offers a free point-based loyalty program and 500 points = $ 25 dining credit! Ask your server for the deets because. let’s face it. eating sushi can get pricey. Solid 4 stars. only because it’s not the best I’ve ever had. ;)

Had lunch with my friend and we ended up at Mizu, dealer’s choice. I was about to order just the tonkotsu ramen, but the hostess suggested I order the lunch special. It’s hard to turn down a cute girl, so I just got it. I am such a sucker for ordering more food than necessary. :( The lunch special was only $ 1USD more than just getting the bowl, and it came with miso soup, vegetable tempura with one shrimp, and a spicy tuna cut roll. Overall I would say the tempura and cut roll were satisfactory, nothing particularly stood out to me about them, so I would say about average. The tonkotsu ramen was a bit below average compared to a ramen-only restaurant, but for a restaurant that is diverse in their menu options like Mizu, it was actually OK. The broth tasted a little bit too artificially creamy to me, as if they added a creamer of some kind. Of course, I did not inquire so I don’t know, but this is what it tasted like to me. The noodles were properly cooked. It’s just the broth that didn’t taste right to me. I’m probably not going to order it again, but if you’re interested in it, it did come with a variety of toppings as most ramen-only places come with, and it was a pretty good deal for the lunch. I had to take about half the ramen and tempura home so it’s plenty of food. I would definitely come back to try something else, love the ambience and service, but just not sure if I would 100% recommend the ramen if you’re a ramen connoisseur. Or think you are.(Me.) They have a pretty cool glass meeting room.

Bouncing between 4.5 and 5 and decided to go all out 5. I’ve probably tried many of many sushi places in orange county as you can’t see a strip mall without a sushi place located in the mall. But finding a worthy sushi place based on quality alone is hard to find. So many of these sushi places charge you anywhere from 8 to 14 dollars a roll and sometimes you get lucky and catch a special. The problem for me is that’s a good amount of hard earned money for one roll. I get that tuna and fish is expensive but if your going to charge the prices I see these days, your fish better be pretty darn fresh, your service exceptional and the atmosphere memorable. This place had all of my requests. Great experience, fresh fish, and exceptional service. Better yet, on Friday and Saturday nights there’s live music. Adds value to your dining experience. Take a look at my pictures of the red dragon roll and yellow tail roll and witness what I’m writing about. Yum yum yum. I’ll be back for sure.

Meeting a friend here who told me it was near Starbucks, I walked around aimlessly looking for something small, then eventually look up and see this huge sushi location with booth seating and patio seating. Love the venue, it’s probably the biggest sushi restaurant I’ve been too, and seems like your perfect happy hour spot. Coming here on a Saturday, I was surprised to see this place virtually empty. After experiencing the service here, I was no longer very surprised at this. The menu however had a wide variety of options, even the sake menu had many options. The food is also presented very nicely, with a pretty flower accompanying most dishes. Appetizers: Yellowtail crudo: I guess I had high expectations after trying the one at Nobu, but this one was decent. Cuts of yellowtail in a teriyaki sauce with small slices of jalapeño on top. Tuna tartar was very good, I like the egg on top. Nice spin to it. Wagyu tataki was probably my favorite item here, the quality of meat was obviously very good, and the flavor of the marinade as well. It was served cold and topped with lemon grass. Chicken teriyaki plate seemed very dry and the vegetables seemed like they were taken out of the freezer bag and microwaved. Sushi: Alaska– baked spicy CA roll with salmon on top and unagi sauce. Salmon on top was dry, and the sauce seemed very generic, not very flavorful. Ninja roll– with yellowtail, cilantro, avocado, asparagus, cucumber, topped with spicy mayo. Sounded delicious in my head, but very lacking taste wise. Tasted like sushi I would get from Ralph’s grocery. Our server was very nice, but not very attentive, took FOREVER, and got our order completely wrong. He took out order by memory, but obviously was way off and brought the wrong dishes, not a very good thing when you are starving. Seeing as they were probabky going to toss the sushi they brought to us, would have been nice if they left one behind for the extremely long wait. I would say the highlight of the experience here was the venue, appetizers, and drink selection. Basically, seems like an ok place to come back to happy hour, and happy hour ONLY.

Last weekend we stopped by Mizu for dinner at the sushi bar. Within a few minutes of being seated, the manager, David, came up to my boyfriend and me. He said he remembered us from our last visit & was glad to see us back. He was so nice and professional. We talked with him for a few and let him know how much we enjoy Mizu; to which he reiterated how much he appreciated our business. I mean seriously… a month after our first(and only) visit & he knew who we were. THATISHOWIT’S DONE, FOLKS! Just like our last visit, the food was exceptional. This time, we tried the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, a fresh Scallop roll and Seared Albacore with Ankimo(munkfish liver). All amazing! Their Tako(octopus) was so fresh & tender. And of course, the service was awesome; even with a huge party in their backroom. We also had various different nigiri pieces that didn’t disappoint. Mizu is 100% deserving of a 5 star review! Their food, their service and the ambiance all hit the spot. You should let your mouth tell you what I already have in 2 reviews. Eat at Mizu!
