It’s my favorite sushi place to go to and my friends and I love to go to Midnight Sushi on the weekends! Highly recommend the crab angels.

I love Thai food, and this one was good. Got the Chicken Panang curry and it had good flavor.

One of the best restaurants and bars in the city. They offer a mix of Thai and Sushi, I have tried most anything on the menu. The restaurant is a branch of a popular Atlanta Thai restaurant, this particular location is family run. Thai food is cooked with exceptional care. The ingredients are generally very high quality. My favorites are duck curry, Ka proud lamb, Basil Duck, or Soft Shelled Crab. Dinner can run 15 – 25 a person without drinks, but they have several lunch specials around that are under 10 $. During the end of the week(th/fri/sat) the restaurant offers a late night which is exceptionally popular with the local college crowd. The restaurant a limited menu of sushi and assorted common japanese appetizers like gyoza, tempura, yakitori(served as chicken teriyai) sometimes with twist. Most items are served by the piece at a cost of 1 – 2 $, which makes it the Best Sushi special in town. I’m a west coast transplant, and tend to be picky about Sushi, but the eel and snow crab can please anyone. The bar is phenomenal and has a wide selection of liquor, a few assorted sake and a large top-shelf martini menu. The bar tenders are fairly knowledgeable and can make most classic cocktails or something with a creative twist. As an Asian restaurant the beer selection is kinda limited, however this is the only place I’ve seen with draft Sapporo and Guiness draft is fairly cheap. I’ve been dining here for about 5 years now, and the staff treats me like famiy. This is one of the best mid-priced restaurants in Tuscaloosa. I wish there were more places like this city.

It’s $ 20 for a small dish of pineapple shrimp. It was alright and had a subtle pineapple flavor to it. It was more creamy than pineapple. Even though it was a to-go order, I was at least hoping to get a section of the pineapple. But no, it wasn’t quite filled up to the top of the container and I easily was able to finish this by myself and had plenty of room left over for ice cream.

I’m so sad to have to leave this review. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in T-town. Just a few years ago, I would even consider myself a regular here. The last few visits have been declining in the quality of the food and service, but today was a definite disappointment. My husband and I always order the crab Angels and at least they were still delicious. However, The coconut soup was not as flavorful. I ordered the Thai BBQ chicken and it was a major let down. The chicken was so overcooked, it was more like mush. It was hard to eat and I feel sick to my stomach for having consumed it. It is served with shrimp fried rice which used to be so good that I would order it as an entre, but today… it was just sad. My husband’s pad Thai was lacking as well. I’m so disappointed, I don’t know if I would even come back… I’ll just walk across the street if I want Thai in t-town. The server was nice, but failed to refill our drinks.

I’ve eaten here twice, and the food has been solid both times. The service is fast, and the restaurant is clean. I loved the chicken curry and the pot stickers. The pad Thai and pad woon sen were really good a year ago when we came last.

Had dinner there last night and throughly enjoyed it. My sushi/sashimi plate was delicious. My husband had a Thai dish… Can’t remember the name — it was a shrimp with a peanut based sauce — he said it was good but a little sweet for his liking. Our soup appetizers was fantastic! We will be back.

It makes my heart sad to leave a bad review to a Thai place. Thai locations are always so accommodating… Not this places. The server Brett easily responds to the fact you’re vegan«you’re in Tuscaloosa.» So their answer is «no!“Weird I live in a small beach town half the size and my Thai places are so accommodating … Don’t bother with the«Nos»

Coming from Minnesota where we have a really decent selection of quality Thai, Hmong, Chinese, Lao, and any other Asian cuisine option that you can think of, I was just a faint bit reluctant to try a Thai place in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Especially one that is on campus. Boy was I wrong. We swung in to Surin in hopes of finding a table to sit at a few hours before the big Alabama Mississippi game since the rest of the streets and establishments were packed and we got a table immediately. Here is what we ordered: -#4 Sushi Special –Coconut Tofu Soup –Teriyaki Skewer App –Baby Corn Stir Fry with Chicken –Sticky RIce –Monkey Business Martini(2) With the exception of the sushi, which I didn’t try but my sig. other said was good, every single thing was FANTASTIC. I was thoroughly impressed. The Monkey Business martini was deliciously packed with a lot of vodka and coconut rum and I could barely sense any sting; very well made. Though a $ 10 price tag is a little steep, $ 8 would have been more acceptable. The Coconut Tofu soup was to die for! They bring it out as a complimentary starter when dining in and I am so glad they did. My brain exploded with all of that deliciousness and you may have caught me licking every last drop from my bowl. The teriyaki skewer app was delicious! Extremely tender steak with a pleasing teriyaki sauce is also delicious dipped in the spicy hot chili sauce provided. Highly recommend. My ONLY qualm with the place: I was extremely excited to see on the menu that the Baby Corn Stir Fry had straw mushrooms(which can be hard to come by unfortunately as they are my FAVORITE mushrooms) so I would by lying if I didn’t tell you that I chose the Baby Corn Stir Fry purely because it had straw mushrooms, lol. Well, when I got my plate there was not a mushroom in sight. I didn’t want to be a pain so I didn’t bring it up; I just chalked it up to being in high demand and hard to come by as this happens to me most of the time when I request straw mushrooms. Depressed, I dove into my stir fry only to be wildly impressed by the flavor of the dish. The surin sauce was perfectly seasoned and the vegetables and chicken were cooked to perfect tenderness. The side of sticky rice I ordered was fantastic not only to mix in with the stir fry but to just eat on it’s own; I love love love sticky rice. All in all, I highly recommend this place and give it an A+ due to every single thing tasting amazing. I am so bummed that the BEST Thai restaurant I have ever been to is 1,100 miles away from my home; I am going to be craving this stuff. I already am. Is it lunch time yet?

I did not have high expectations for a Thai restaurant in Tuscaloosa, but this place is excellent! I had the duck Pad Thai and would recommend it highly.

Small portions, too much tamarind on everything. Overly sweet to salty. The spices were flat at best. Tried 4 dishes, the pork prik was the best. Tries to cater towards Asians, but overdoes it with the tamarind in everything they serve! Been to Thailand, eaten in my, San Fran, Chicago, Japan, Taiwan and this Thai restaurant is definitely not doing their spices right. Definitely dont order the beef noodle bowl. is Spicy beef salad was highly recommended but was salty and lacking in flavor.

The service has gone down over the last year. The food is still good, but don’t eat here if you are in a hurry or have a short lunch hour.

The food is pretty good but the service is HORRIBLE. I have been here on several occasions and felt either completely ignored or rushed out by the wait staff. If you want good food but terrible service, this is the place for you.

We found this place open on Christmas Eve when our first choice fell through. This restaurant is well located(which is why we could find it, it being on the main drag on one side of ‘Bama(university). Large, sun-filled windows form a major part of the decoration scheme which is relaxing and conducive to cheerful talk. Our waiter Matt was very good at his job – on-the-spot but not in-your-race. He responded to our questions about the menu with good knowledge and discernment. We left him a $ 20 tip. Spouse had beef noodle bowl(like a five-spice beef phở), said he liked it enough to eat. «Good broth,» he says. I had a sushi special plate with three different types of rolled sushi with fairly appropriate rice(having lived in Japan for 15 years ruined me for perfect sushi rice), meaning moist and seasoned enough – sort of. Wasabi a little dry but very potent. Coconut milk soup EXCELLENT with nice salt and chili taste

My husband and I dined here thinking since it’s Thai it would have good vegetarian options. Obviously it’s slim pickings in Tuscaloosa, but this place was not very vegetarian friendly, and the sweet and sour tofu dish for 11 bucks was skimpy and more appetizer sized than entrée sized. Obviously for local yokels who never leave Tuscaloosa, it’s all relative, but if you’re on a road trip like we were and need vegetarian food, maybe get Indian or middle eastern instead.

Yummilicious. I like it enough to travel from B’ham to Tuscaloosa for this! I went with a party of 10 on a Sunday and the restaurant was packed. The service was good and the chef actually came out to welcome us. We ordered various dishes and had it family style. For appetizers, we ordered springs rolls and chicken baskets. Both were fresh and tasted great. I like the chicken basket idea as we got to make our own compared to other locations. For entrée, we had various dishes including Spicy Beef Noodle(my fave), Panang Chicken, Spicy Beef and a few I can’t recall. Everything was cooked to perfection. Will definitely have to go back!
