Limited menu, but they do most very well. I love, love, love the panee’d chicken! The capers in cream sauce they ladle over it sends it over the MOON! Great bar, live music, cool atmosphere and very good service.

On a road trip and needed a place to stop for lunch. Unilocal led me to Five… I feel like I hit the jackpot! Fun/hip ambiance and the best shrimp and grits I think I’ll ever have!

Horrible experience, 20 minute wait for a table but two hours to see food on the table. Food was marginal, you cold get a better meal for much less elsewhere. The wait staff waited until 30 minutes after we ordered to let us know the kitchen was 1.5 hours behind. Meal was comped but that’s 3 hours we will never get back.

I can’t believe this is only a 3.5. Five is an outstanding restaurant. Entrees are delicious, the salad that comes with it is unique and tasty, and the atmosphere is trendy and fun. The paneed chicken is good, and the burger has some kind of a bacon relish that you HAVE to try. The baked avocado is small but the flavor is out of this world. One of the best spots in town.

From the moment we arrived our experience at 5 was sub par at best. The hostess was rude and the wait was long. When we were placed at a table in the sun that was too hot to touch the hostess was angry we asked if we could wait longer for a table inside. They sat as at the bar with wobbly chairs where we sat for 20 minutes before a waitress so much as glanced at us. Once we ordered it was another hour and a half before we got our food which wasn’t even enough to fill you up. Although the food was tasty and our waitress was nice enough, the combination of the wait, the hostess, and the overpriced menu is enough for me to never want to come back.

We had Jessica M. As our server the other night and she was absolutely amazing. She checked on us more than enough and had the personality that would keep me coming back! She kept us as informed as we could be and informed us of your amazing drinks you had available!

In 1906, San Francisco was completely destroyed by one of the largest earthquakes in history. An entire city was crushed overnight, and it took years to recover. Flash forward 110 years. I am San Francisco. The earthquake was the Rounders Boom-Boom Room circa ~2am. The aftershocks were my numerous trips to the bathroom to relive the taste of tequila. The recover process is my current lack of being able to look at myself in the mirror. With that being said, let’s quit with the history lesson and get on with this shit. I realized today was Easter, and I also realized I haven’t been to church since W was in office. That didn’t change today, but it did me a good excuse to get fancy and head to Five Bar. Everything about this place is class. While I was there, I completely forgot that less than 8 hours ago I was on my 3rd straight cup of Easy Mac. The ambiance was trendy, but traditional, and the Bloody Mary bar gives Side By Side some serious competition. If the breakfast burger I ordered was a woman, I would have struggled to talk to her(the burger) at a bar(innisfree) due to her(it’s) sheer beauty and my crippling self-inadequacy issues. OHDID I MENTIONTHEYHAD A LIVEJAZZBANDPLAYING A SAXOPHONEAT11AMANDITWASLIT. Lastly, the service was top tier. Everything was perfect, and the experience was memorable. Eat here.

Great experience for Valentine’s Day! The staff was very prompt. The food was very fast for a packed holiday event. The food was very good, I had the fried chicken. The menu is small(five items, hence the name) but everything is very good. The drinks were decent… I had the old fashion and it was so so. However, the experience is very pleasant. Overall, if you are in town and looking for a restaurant that is chill with a good environment I highly recommend it!

I used to love Five, but two of the last three times I have gone here, getting brunch has turned into a two and a half hour ordeal because of how slow and awful the service was. This last time I went, it took an hour and a half for our food to come out and it was served cold. They also charged $ 8 for drinks that had been listed for $ 5, which took a long time to correct, which was awful because we thought we were finally going to be able to leave. I don’t know if they got a new chef or manager or something, but Five just isn’t being ran the way it used to. There are only five items on the menu, how they hell can it possibly take you an hour or more to serve a customer?

Where to begin?! I have been coming to Five for the past four years and each time I can rely on good service, great drinks and even better food! Five Bar has a jazzy New Orleans vibe. There are interesting art pieces and light fixtures throughout the intimate dining room. My favorite part about 5 is the java café. The café is connected to the restaurant and is open daily from 8am-5pm. Customers can order delicious coffee, espresso, juices, smoothies, and lunch. My only advice would be to order the Paneed Chicken!

Some of the best food I’ve had in Tuscaloosa. Great dinner menu and brunch is a lot of fun and a more affordable choice. I recommend the ribeye, the chicken dish, and for brunch the crab cakes Benedict. Also, their strawberry, goat cheese, white balsamic salad is probably one of my favorite things ever.

My husband and four of our friends joined us for dinner at Five. We arrived right when they were opening so we had no wait time. It is just how it was described to me by a friend who recommended it; 5 appetizers 5 entrees 5 desserts. Hip little spot. We sat on the patio. I thought all of the food was very flavorful. My friend had the steak and said it was good.(not great but good) we had the two burgers which I thought was great. The burgers were simple & small patties but there was a delicious mango salsa/sauce on top. The sides were great and appetizers were great as well. Only complaint from our group: portions were too small. But I differed. I left feeling content… Not button busting full. Service was wonderful. I’d go back.

Recently moved to Tuscaloosa and I have been here several times. The service is always great and I love that it is right in the middle of downtown Tuscaloosa. Their fries are amazing. The sauce with the fries is to die for and the chicken and waffles on Sunday brunch is wonderful. Will definitely be visiting frequently.

Five is a really good place for date night. The restaurant provides nice dining and classic dishes that have a little«5» twist added to them. The steak is absolutely one of the best I have ever had. The brunch that is served on Sunday is out of this world. The chicken and waffles is awesome and crab cakes are just decadent. This place can be a little pricey but it’s worth all the money I have in my wallet!

The food was delicious. The steaks are perfectly done. The baked avocado is also really good along with the fried pickles as appetizers. The chicken with mash potato was also really good. The chicken was nice a moist

Tonight we went here for a few drinks. Enjoyed the pineapple jalapeño margarita A LOT!!! Seriously, who thinks of these things. We also enjoyed the fried pickle Appetizer. The place has a super cool vibe. Next time we will have to try and entrée.

Five. Mediocre everything. It’s okay, the atmosphere is kind of fun. But the food is NOT good and the management staff seem like they don’t know what they’re doing, more concerned with looking cool than running a good restaurant. the coffee shop is the best part of this restaurant, a hidden gem in town. Update: the coffee shop staff has been experiencing turnover recently, it seems. New employees have no basic knowledge about the menu or coffee in general. Five: please train your staff!

I brought my parents on a Sunday night and the service was excellent. My waitress did a fabulous job recommending drinks and making us feel at home. Uptown chicken — Delicious and saucy. It’s not spicy at all like the description says. Seafood rigatoni had some scallops and shrimp. There wasn’t as much as I hoped but the pasta was incredible. I haven’t had a carb day in years and I regret nothing. The ribeye was delicious. It was plenty to share between two people. Even though we ordered medium, the steak came out more rare and tasty. I liked it. The pineapple jalapeño maragarita was wonderful. It had the right amount of sweet and spicy. It was refreshing on a hot summer night.

The first time in a year since the last time in Tuscaloosa and dinner at Five. Another great meal that can’t be beat. The rigatoni with seafood was outstanding as was the burgers with a fried egg and their great sauce. Stop in for Sunday brunch if you are in Tuscaloosa.

Five Bar is a really popular dinner destination in town. The atmosphere is trendy and a bit eclectic… low lights, loud-er-ish music, brightly colored artwork. It’s my personal opinion that the atmosphere is what draws people here, because I don’t think it is the food. The concept for Five is that there are five menu options for everything. Five appetizers, five entrees, etc. I think this menu structure has a lot of potential, as I hate it when restaurants overwhelm you with options. My comment is always… just put what’s REALLY good on the menu! And I think that’s just the problem… I haven’t really had anything that’s REALLY good. All of it is fine. Some of it is pretty good. I’ve never had anything bad. But when nothing blows you away, you do start to get bored with just five options. It would also be nice if they had a vegetarian dish. My favorites, as it stands, are the stuffed avocado appetizer and the jalapeño margarita. Maybe the reason I’m hating on Five a bit is because none of the entrees get me very excited. I do love Wine Wednesday… half price wine bottles! I’ve also been for brunch, where I had an eggs Benedict that I did actually enjoy very much. The Bloody Mary bar starts at 12:30.
