Carpe Vino

I give 5’s to places that if I was under house arrest and could only go between my apartment and my designated Unilocal review, Carpe Vino would be my spot. The service is excellent, the selection of wine is phenomenal. The interior is warm, cozy, and clean. If I won the lottery, this is exactly how I would want a portion of my mansion to look like. There are bottles of wine everywhere faced in every single direction imaginable. There is even a section for the beer lovers so no man feels out of place.
I’ve been here for two wine tastings and the selections have changed each time. The tastings are are inexpensive and they provide you six different selections (three whites and three reds). Against better judgment, you will always end up taking a bottle home every time because one of these wines will hit the sweet spot for you.
It’s romantic enough for two people but it’s cozy enough for a small party to sit and talk for hours. The best part of this wine store is that it never pretends to be pretentious and almost every option is surprisingly affordable. The crowd is incredibly sweet as well. If you want to sit down, someone will always make room for you regardless if you’re a stranger or a familiar face.

Lexi is the best. Her tasting flight was well selected and her knowledge of each wine complimented each glass. She is an extraordinary asset to the store and should be sought out for her recommendations.

Okay so I am reviewing Carpe Vino now for the third time. I used to really love this place, and I had given it five stars. It seemed to fall off for a bit, so I changed my review to three stars. I stopped in last night, and his selection of the big bottle beers and the more high end craft beers has definitely stepped it up. The past few wine tastings have been new and exciting again. I will definitely be continuing to shop here. Parker is really knowledgeable about his stock, and he seems to be taking the store in a great direction.

The wine tastings are the highlight of my week, and ALL of the wines in the tastings are awesome. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and will help find a selection in any price range! Atmosphere is romantic, but also great for groups of friends.

The tastings at Carpe Vino are great! Parker has brought in some great limited wines with the Spanish and Italian small vineyard tastings. He’s extremely knowledgeable and has always found a great pick in my price range.
Carpe Vino added beer and cider to its selection this past May with beer tastings starting in June. Usually there are between 4 – 6 beers in the tasting. And for the most part you can’t regularly find these in grocery stores.
