Seven Sisters – Black Oak Casino

Very good food and very nice service. Only thing was the duck was a very rare not medium to medium rare. Would definitely go back when trying to have a nice dinner in Sonora.

We have been enjoying the wonderful food at Seven Sisters for 10 years. The new menu is not our favorite. The appetizer menu needs some help — we tried the bone marrow– it was too slimy– if it was a bit crisped on top it would have been better. We have been 2 times since the big change. The grilled romaine salad is great, the meat entrees are good. We were disappointed in the dessert options as well. We adore the wait staff. The atmosphere is still top notch.

We have been going to Seven Sisters since they opened 10 years ago. In the last 5 years we have been very disappointed. When you spend $ 50. a plate you expect to enjoy your meal. That doesn’t include drinks. We decided to give them a try tonight because we hadn’t been there in a year and a half and we heard they had a new chef. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was wonderful! I had salmon and my husband had a bone in rib eye steak. My husband said it was right up there with the best. The menu has changed. It’s a little more trendy than before and the presentations were awesome. Crème brûlée was the best I’ve ever had. If you haven’t been there in a while, give them another chance! Ask for Renee. She’s our favorite waitperson.

My husband and I had dinner here for the first time, and we are already looking forward to our next time! I called for reservations and from that point on I cannot express how friendly and professional the entire staff treated us. Our dinner was excellent. We both ordered the filet and Maine lobster. I could not imagine anyone ever giving the Seven Sisters anything less than an excellent 5 stair review. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere along with the food and wine plus dessert is unsurpassed! Be prepared for a wonderful experience!

Wonderful dining experience surrounded by beautiful woods. Seven sisters met and exceeded our expectations and the staff are all incredibly friendly.

This was our first time here and I had heard many good things about it. My husband and I. Took my mother here last night for her birthday (87). I am sorry to say it did not live up to our expectations. The physical plant is lovely and very well maintained. The table setting was elegant. The problems was that it took forever to get some service and to get our entrees. From the time we arrived to the time we received our food was over one hour. Only one person ordered a starter and even he was done for over half an hour before the main course came. I stopped the server and asked him what was happening to our food and he made a pouty face and said I know it has been a long time sorry. When it came out it was not as good as I had hoped. My husband and my Mom both ordered the rib eye steak. It was a generous 16oz. But my husbands was tough. He ordered medium rare but one side was raw and the other was overlooked. His veg. Was so undercooked he could not chew them. He did start with the o nion soup and that was good. My mom said her food was acceptable. Not outstanding but o k. I had the lamb chops and they were tasty. But not a very nice cut of meat. It was very fatty but not in a good way. I left a good part of the chop behind because of the fat.
The bread they served was great but that only came after we had to stop someone and ask for the bread. There was no special attention for my Mom’s birthday yet another table had a special day and the servers sang a song for them. I felt ignored. This was a very expensive meal that was truely a waste of time.

Our first time eating here. Went on Memorial Day weekend — did not have a reservation. They were able to get us in with maybe a 5 minute wait time. Superb wait staff and excellent food. We will be back

We received very special service for our anniversary dinner. My husband called ahead and put in a request or two, but even so, I could tell the service was good all around.
The ambiance is upscale compared to the rest of Tuolumne, as is the food and pricing to match. There is a complimentary coat check as well.
Great appetizer selection, variety of salad, very unique soup special, and the entrée staples you would expect. The «seared» ahi was unfortunately cooked through and dry, but the accompaniments were top notch, first course = 3 stars. My artichoke soup was so close to being amazing but wasn’t seasoned well, and I am by no means a salt feind! My husband’s grilled wedge salad looked amazing though, again, 3 stars. Sorbet palate cleanser was a delicious and refreshing surprise. Entrées of salmon and venison were both great, the venison was very tender and my salmon was presented beautifully, full 5 stars. Dessert was a crème brûlée and champagne. And all around friendly service rounds this out to a 4 star experience, we weren’t rushed but the bill was dealt with expediently.
The staff was even EXTREMELY nice to a horrible gentleman who wore a baseball hat at the table and ordered a bottle of bud light and yelled about his food.

They changed their menu and when you look forward to something you had before it sucks. Plus the quantity of the meal was so small it was embarrassing. Shame on you. You had a good menu. Why change it??? Sad but we won’t be going back with this menu

Another wonderful dinner at Seven Sisters. «Fresh Pea» soup with avocado flourish — beautiful and many layers of flavor. Grilled Romaine Salad — a first for us — delicious and crisp — «wow» said my husband. And the Calamari Dore — tender, moist to the last bite. Excellent service!

Not sure what was better, the food or service! What a great experience.

So we thought we’d try Seven Sisters again. We have been here at least 8 — 10 times. Our last time was the Sunday brunch — which was very disappointing. We had reservations for Valentine’s dinner at 9:30. They really were not busy but it took them 15 minutes just to bring us water and bread, even after asking several times. Our Tapas appetizer was good and our Caesars salad made table side was very good. However, my rack of lamb was so tough it was not even edible! Now if the waitress would have checked on us after our food was brought out I would ave told her to bring me something else. But no one checked on us until Mike finished his dinner. And his steak was very good, by the way. So I just had them take back my dinner and didn’t want to wait for something else to be made. They did not charge us for the meal and offered to bring me something else, but by this time I just wanted to done with it!
This used to be such a good restaurant… But that has not been the case for the last year. Too bad…

focaccia bread was soft and flavorful. salad was standard. salmon was quite good — tender, not overly cooked, and well flavored. veggies were cooked but still crisp, which i like. lobster was a little tough. steak medium rare was juicy and had a charbroiled taste on the outside.
overall, very satisfied.

I have eaten here a number of times and would have given them four stars a year ago… but not now. Wait staff has always been wonderful and on top of everything. The food, not so much.
We had a party of six. Ordered the pork belly appetizer, excellent!
I ordered the mushroom soup and lobster salad. Soup was good but not great and the lobster salad had no taste at all. Apples were bland and so was the salad. My husband ordered the rib eye and was very disappointed as he thought the meat was a bit flavorless and meh. Our friends ordered the paella and was disappointed that it also had very little flavor. Other friend ordered the pork chop and said it was just ok. For a three hundred dollar dinner meh doesn’t cut it.
Unless they either change or train the chef I won’t return. Too bad because this used to be the best thing in town.

Had a birthday night planned for a friend. We were dressed casually (not in shorts, flip-​flops, and tank-​tops or anything), simply nice jeans and t-​shirts, since we planned to bowl the rest of the night away later downstairs at the casino’s bowling alley. Anyways, we were greeted with a surprisingly snooty «Do you have a reservation?» We regretfully didn’t… She then proceeded to tell us about the restaurants we would be better off going to downstairs… Embarrassed by her condescending tone and the fact that I hadn’t made reservation, I said we would wait… Especially looking around and only seeing a few people in the whole place… 20 minutes later a different woman whom was very down to earth and polite came to us and asked us if we would like to be seated… from then on, everything seemed great. The food was pricey and took about 45 minutes to arrive after we ordered, but that was to be expected since it was very good quality and the restaurants ambiance was warm and inviting for intimate conversation. The wait staff was attentive and consistent. My wife, who is a chef, spotted out a few mistakes understandably, but she ate everything. All in all, you’ll get 5 stars when you fire that lady in the front who thinks she can talk to paying customers that way. Thank you Seven Sisters and Black Oak Casino for a wonderful night! It was ALMOST perfect!

Definitely one of the best restaurants in the area and guaranteed to please everyone.
The ambiance is very classy, the service is great, the appetizers are awesome, the mixed drinks and wine list are incredible, the main courses offer a large variety of choices, and the desert is fantastic.
The prices are a little high for the area, but this is definitely worth it for special occasions or a night out with a date.
They also have a private room for parties and groups that is in the middle of the restaurant.

The customer service at Seven Sisters was quite impressive! Our waitress (regretfully, we do not remember her name at the moment) was very attentive to our requests. Fresh bread was delivered to our table by «bread girl» (her sole purpose in life was to deliver bread to diners!) They even opened our napkins and placed them on our laps for us, personal bubble popped.
The lamb was perfectly cooked and delicious. They even gave us a hot towel afterwards and a small bowl for the bones. A amuse-​bouche of watermelon sorbet was provided to cleanse our palate! On our way out, everyone was damn-​near curtsying on our way out telling us thank you for our patronage.
We will definitely visit again soon; gambling optional.

We have had dinner here a few times… It’s good, but it would be nice if they changed up the menu every now and then. Wait staff is excellent! We just went to Sunday brunch today $ 30 per person however the food was not at the level we expected, New York steak was cold (almost like it was cooked yesterday), eggs Benedict were hard (not eatable), French toast and waffles were too hard to eat. The food was not coming out of the kitchen fast enough so many of the dishes were empty… Raviolis tasted like frozen, desserts were not home made. Save yourself $ 30 and skip the Sunday brunch.

This place rocked. The service was great. No it was Fantastic. You’ll love it. Food was also fantastic. I’ll go again. A little pricey but it was worth it.
