Tulsa has a lot of little burger joints that have been for decades. Claud’s may well be the best of them, and dollar-for-dollar, its burger can’t be beat. The burger is classic: a thin patty, a greasy bun, a few basic toppings. Before Claud’s, I did not know what I should put on a burger: the answer is onions, pickles, mustard, and(maybe) cheese. And that’s coming from a guy who used to not like pickles or mustard. Claud’s changed my heart. One of the things I love about their burgers is that they are small. You don’t struggle to take a bite out of it or keep it from falling to pieces in your hand. And concomitant with the small size is a small price; even if you get the double cheeseburger, you’re still going to spend less than $ 5. The fries are delicious too, and the come in generous portions. Everything tastes fresh(because it is), and everything is affordably priced. Keep in mind, this place is TINY. I’d recommend Claud’s for one-on-one dining, because trying to seat any kind of group together is sometimes impossible. (And don’t tell Claud’s I said this, but if you want dessert, may I recommend crossing the street to try the root beer float at Weber’s? Claud’s definitely has the better burger, but that Weber’s root beer is something else.)

Many say that Tulsa is a burger town, and when it comes to the classic American cheeseburger, Claud’s is the most consistently delicious representation of that classic burger heritage. Claud’s Hamburgers is a place where the best memories can be created in a nostalgic atmosphere. My favorite burger to order is the double cheeseburger, stacked, with onions grilled in, raw onions, and everything on it. He has his burger with a side of fries, cole slaw and a classic coke. The burgers are grilled to perfection on a flattop, and are always moist with perfectly melted cheese! I have also ordered togo many times, this burger travels well.

The burgers are always awesome but the employees are some of the most rude people in Tulsa. I would recommend calling your order in ahead of time to minimize the time you subject yourself to this thick headed family.

I rate all of my food on a scale ranging from dank to nay, these fries were a perfect dank. I was so impressed with quality of the fries, that the only word is dank. Dank dank dank. Dank is usually used to describe weed, but I use it to describe particularly delicious fries, like these. They had very dank texture, and paired dankly with the dank root beer. All in all, the fries were pretty frikin dank. 8⁄8 dank m8. Did you know that Canadians have an extra bone in their left hands?

I used to come here in High School every Friday afternoon for a pre-game meal in during football season. Now I come because it’s the best old fashioned hamburger available anywhere. I’ve lived and travelled all over the country, and I always look forward to coming back to Claud’s. Especially since they grind their own meat and one of the cooks is missing half a finger! Coincidence? I think not.

This place and Bill’s have the best burgers in Tulsa hands down though I can’t pick just one!

Promoting by 1 star. I keep coming back so they must be doing something right! I ordered the double this time, which is NOT double patty, just more meat than the single. I felt satisfied afterward, although the beef seemed a little on the salty side, unlike my first visit. I grabbed my burger to go and had to eat in the car. Big mistake! These burgers are greasy/juicy and I drenched my leg. Definitely check this place out. Just be aware of what you’re in for. This is not high end gourmet. It’s very old fashioned.

Let me first start this by saying that I’ve visited Clauds on and off over the last 25 years, being introduced to it when I was a little past 10 years old. What hasn’t changed over that period of time is what makes this place special. I live far from Tulsa now but even on short trips into town I make it a point to stop and have a cheeseburger, everything on it. The regular burger is nothing as large as you find at some other places(which some reviewers have cited as detrimental) but for me — that’s the way I want it. The enjoyment is in the subtle flavor, the melted cheese and lightly seasoned patty that holds just enough of the Clauds grill and grizzled to make it distinguished. You won’t need ketchup, or anything else really — it’s enough to enjoy the toasted but and this right sized wonder that still rightly satisfies even after all this time.

OHMYGOODNESS. these are my feelings after trying my first cheeseburger from Claud’s. let it be known that I’m not a particularly big«cheese burger person». yes, that’s a thing. wooweeeee, will Claud’s do your taste buds good. the burger buns are perfectly toasted, the patty is deliciously thin & greasy, the onions and tomatoes are fresh, and the fries are insanely crispy and delicious with the perfect amount of salt. the atmosphere? maybe don’t go for that. it’s a really small old burger shack at the south end of brookside. BUT it is a fun feel and if the weather is nice, you can eat at the picnic tables outside and bask in the beautifulness of south brookside. ahhhh.

Easily the best burger in Tulsa. Staff is polite and easy going, and they all work hard and provide excellent service. The burger has a delicious toasted bun and melted cheese, and the onions grilled in give the burger even greater more complex flavor. Another good thing is they are not Pepsi people. Nothing goes better with their burgers than a Coke. The french fries are difficult not to finish they cook them to perfection and everything is fresh. Atmosphere is great but who cares? A must try for those who haven’t. Skip Hank’s, Brownie’s, because this is the burger to try.

If you are looking for a good old fashioned burger joint, you can’t beat Claud’s. Freshly made on the grill right before your very eyes, Claud’s burgers & fries are excellent! And, the coleslaw is creamy delicious as well. Give it a try!

Great old school hamburgers made by the hands of gentlemen that are your grandpas age. So much cheese and cholesterol. It’s a great old fashioned American institution.

The category of where to get the«best» hamburger is no different from where to get the«best» pizza or hot dog or steak, or any other type of food. It’s a silly and useless term because every person’s taste preferences are different and there are as many different ways to prepare food as there are cooks who can prepare it. That said, Claud’s is at the top of my list anywhere in the United States and possibly the world. Those who judge a burger as best because it is 12″ tall and contains enough cholesterol to shorten your life by a full year for each one you eat won’t like Claud’s. Those people who think the definition of what makes a burger great is that it is made from the earlobes of virgin yaks and cheese from the tummy buttons of elderly Black-fronted Dotterels won’t like Claud’s. Those who conspicuously valet park their custom racing edition Prius and insist that their food be served to them on rare Wedgewood won’t like Claud’s. Because Claud’s is none of the above. No, Claud’s is a one-of-a-kind old-time burger stand that’s been in the same tiny white building off the beaten path in Tulsa since 1954. How small? Many of you have bathrooms at home that are larger; some of you have closets that are larger. It doesn’t need to be any larger … they have a comfortably chaotic but short line at the door from opening until close. Their menu doesn’t stray far from a few variations on basic burgers. They serve both kinds of burger — plain and with cheese. And there are a few additional things you can put on your burger if you’re a rabbit. The staff is Tulsa Friendly and the cook(s) are just a few feet away from you. Whenever I try a new burger place I invariably will order a single, plain with a little mustard and a pickle slice so as not to kill the taste of the meat. Although I’ve been to Claud’s a couple of times previously the most recent was probably 7 years ago(I’m happy to say exactly nothing has changed). But I knew I wanted to have my plain burger as well as something Claud’s does extremely well which is to have the onions«cooked in» so I ordered a second one that way with cheese, mustard and a pickle slice. The marriage of how they do their buns, their in-kitchen fresh ground beef and everything else is so perfect that my personal rating is that Claud’s has the best burger on the planet(at least to me). I posted a picture of both burgers knowing not everyone will agree with me but that’s good … Claud’s is too small to fit anyone who goes there and doesn’t like it.

Tiny little burger bar. Not a whole lot of room inside. Seems like a «locals» or «regulars» type of place. Don’t let that deter you though, the burgers are awesome. Parking usually isn’t tough, but standing room only at lunch sometimes is. They will work the line pretty good though and find you a seat when your order is almost up.

Fresh meat, hot fries but nothing special would flame out in a competitive burger town like Ft Worth or Dallas. Cool old location in great part of town.

This is one of those teeny-tiny classic burger joints that you run in to in most towns. A tiny white 60’s buiding in a sea of commercial Brookside establishments. Seats about 15 people, the grill is about 3 ft. away from the counter, you become close friends with everyone in the joint, including the cook, and you get a great old-fashioned burger. A winning combination. There is always a line waiting to get a seat, but everything moves quickly. Ranks pretty high on my burger list.

Finally got to Claud’s this Friday night around 7:30 before they closed but left strangely unsatisfied. Sweet friendly waitress that looks alot lite Elizabeth Taylor. CheeseBurger came pronto but on one of the smallest buns I have ever seen, about the size of a McDonalds regular small burger. The hefty meat patty spilled over all the edges and was very tasty, fries standard variety, nothing special with Iced Tea all for about $ 10 bucks with tip. I had though that with all the glowing reviews this would be the best burger in town… but so far Tuesday at the Crow Tavern takes the prize. Anyone want to share their favorite Tulsa Burger???

I gave Claud’s 3 stars which if you’ve read my other burger reviews then you know a 3 star is really a 5. Anyway, this place is soo awesome. Their burgers are ten times better than Weber’s. No joke. The atmosphere alone is just excellent. It reminded me a lot of Johnnies is El Reno, OK. The cheesebuger I had was superb and their fries are wow! I’ll be going back! Very good!
