Emerald City Energy replaced windows for our home this month. I found the salesperson to be honest and very ethical and lower priced than other places we called. The installation was prompt, courteous and very thoughtful of not disturbing our house. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I give these folks a 10 out of five. They were recommended by a friend and did a great job for her too. Not only did they come the day they promised, but it was a wind storm! The guys were up there on ladders with heavy glass while the power was out and trees were swaying all around them! They acted like it was just another day’s work – no big deal. Three of the windows were manufactured a half inch small, and instead of using them and glopping in silicone, they sent them back to the manufacturer. Prices were good, too.

We had 12 windows replaced in our home with vinyl CertainTeed replacements from Emerald City in 2007. I regret my purchase for both the product & installation for the following reasons: Windows — 1. Half of the single hung windows are so loose that the balance springs regularly pop out. We’ve learned which windows we can safely open and which ones we cannot. 2. Creaky in the wind. We get a lot of wind here in North Bend and these windows make a lot of creaky noises under windy conditions. 3. One of the windows seals broke. Fortunately, the company quickly replaced the failed unit. 4. Vinyl — There are numerous environmental factors which make vinyl a poor choice. Installation — 1. No Flashing — Very soon after installation, I had to add metal flashing above most of the windows(the ones without overhangs above) to prevent water from leaking in. Furthermore, there was no flashing under the«frame» that they added so the only water barrier is caulk. 2. Poor«framing» — Just 7 years after installation, I noticed while re-caulking the exterior that the bottom piece of the frame(just below the weep holes) was allowing water penetration. In some places the water damage extended beyond the frame to the siding and sheathing underneath. The type of installation that was done did nothing to promotes water flow to the outside. 3. Poor Caulking — Both inside and outside, the chalk has cracked/failed in several places. 4. Cheap primed frames — For whatever reason, the«frame» that was added did not hold paint very well. I’ve painted them at least twice in 7 years. These window replacements may work well in some areas for buildings with large overhangs but with the amount of wind driven rain that we get in North Bend/Snoqualmie, either steer clear of them or be prepared to do plenty of maintenance. I’m now convinced that windows should only be replaced in conjunction with redoing the siding so that it can be done with the proper flashing.

We were very pleased with Emerald City Energy for our window replacements for our 1964 house. Russ King was very helpful in finding the best product for us that suited our ideal«style» of windows. When there was an issue with our order and correct window sizing — the staff corrected this and re-ordered(expedited) a new window(free of charge) to ensure we were happy with the end result. The window installation team(Ron and Cody) did an amazing job with the wood work and framing. They were very professional and hard-working. We would absolutely recommend Emerald City Energy to our friends and neighbors.

We had put off replacing the windows in our home for too long. Emerald City got good ratings on Unilocal so we contacted them. Chris met us with a ton of information and knowledge. You can tell that he is so proud of his business, as he should be! We chose and ordered the windows and set up an installation date. Just happened to be during that MASSIVE rain storm on Nov.19. His team somehow worked through 2 days of intense downpour and got the job done. Not only done, but done perfectly and beautifully. We could not be more thrilled. The windows are gorgeous. Our house feels snug and warm. The price was reasonable, and definitely worth it. I highly, highly recommend Chris and his company.

Chris and his crew did a great job at our house. We replaced all, our old windows with new ply gem windows. They look beautiful! The crew worked through some very hard rain, kept our house clean and cleaned up outside every day and at the completion of the job. We are extremely satisfied and can only say«Wow!»

I just had Emerald City Energy replace 7 of our old single pane slider windows that were installed when our house was built in 1987. We had them install white vinyl Ply-Gem double pane E-glass sliders with auto-latches. The new windows were made to fit exactly into the openings from the old windows and they look great. They did an excellent job for a great price(compared to other estimates). I highly recommend them. Give the owner Chris a call.

We replaced two office buildings windows with Emerald City Energy. Replacements are don very professionally and they even took care of Puget Sound Energy incentives.
