I’m writing this review this morning of our dinner last night because food coma. Well, what can I say? My expectations were high after reading through what Unilocalers had to say. Our server was great. After he led us to a table, he immediately asked if we needed any help with the menu. When I asked him a couple of questions, he seemed to know what they served quite well. And the food. The food was on point! We had the phở with eye round beef and the spicy lemon grass chicken, which came with white rice made just the way I like! The iced coffee was pretty authentic, too. Good experience all around.

Grilled pork chop — fabulous lemongrass-infused-oil ‘n charcoal flavor — what exactly is that flavor?

Excellent Service!!! Great food. I’m visiting family and was highly recommended to come here. I’m so glad we did. I’m sad I can’t come here more often.

This is now out family favorite restaurant. What more can you ask. Delicious food, comfortable atmosphere, warm and friendly staff. As you enter ha long bay, The staff greets you as if your family. The appetizers, summer rolls and dumplings are light, flavorful and leave you wanting more. We particularly like their fa soups loaded White meat chicken breast, lean beef thinly sliced. The basil curry is also a favorite full of lightly sautéed vegetables and thinly sliced chicken. The curry has the perfect spice. The orange chicken is ideal for young children. It is fresh chicken fried with my flavorful batter. Kids also love the tapioca smoothies which completes the meal!

I love this place. They make incredible buns(pronounced boon). I get the lemon grass chicken bun frequently. I highly recommend them. I am going for my birthday with a friend this weekend. Give them a try! I have recommended them to several friends and they also loved it there.

Best Phở in all of Tucson. Miss Saigon cannot even compare. The bun bo hue, com tam, and wonton soup are also worth a try. Don’t forget the crispy spring rolls to add onto the meal. Dinner special comes with phở, an entrée, and crispy spring rolls for a very affordable price for those unable to decide.

Terrific Phở. Every time. I have had five different Phở menu items. The Phở is consistently delicious every time. The fresh cilantro, thai basil and chile pepper slices add a wonderful aromatic quality that I love. The décor is simple as would be expected.

The lunch I had here was pretty good. The staff is very friendly, polite and efficient. The ingredients of the garden rolls, which were vegetarian spring rolls, were very fresh. The dipping sauce was good. The grilled lemongrass chicken rice plate was good. The chicken pieces were flavorful, yet moist. The nuoc mam was typical though. I will return to this restaurant if I have a chance to visit Tucson again.

Authentic Vietnamese food in the middle of the desert: Ha Long Bay restaurant is an exciting food place. Ha Long bay is a delightful place to dine. I particularly like the lighter and healthier Vietnamese approach to cuisine. The seafood is awesome, I love garlic, so I chose the garlic shrimp: lightly coated with flour, fried, then glazed with a sweet/hot garlic sauce and served with freshly-steamed broccoli. What could be more delightful than the delectable garden roll appetizer with the out of this world peanut sauce, Thai bubble tea and then either the vegetable/tofu Bun or the amazingly delectable and perfectly prepared Kung Pao Tofu. This is a choice my friend recommended. Having eaten it, I must say it is an excellent vegetarian choice, you must try it. The service is always superb, the atmosphere is nice and suitable for Tucson which is predominantly a casual town. A meal eaten there is a great deal economically where I leave thinking how exciting to have such a great place to eat here in Tucson. I certainly recommend this place for every one, you can choose from spicy to non-spicy, vegetarian to meat loving choices.

Our experience in a nutshell: fresh flavors, friendly service, clean atmosphere. We ordered the fresh garden rolls, the tofu peanut stir fry, and the green beans and tofu with garlic. The green bean dish was on point! On a colder day, we’ll come back to try the spicy soup made with veggie broth — yum! It’s nice to know that vegetarians have a variety of delicious options here.

Sweet and sour soup… I could eat that all day, and the crispy rolls are amazing! One soup is good enough for two people and not at all expensive. Thai tea and taro drinks are excellent! I really recommend this place!

Love this place. We’re new to the area and wanted to give it a shot… very glad we did. Shrimp Phở, Chicken Phở, garlic basil chicken and sugar cane chicken were all awesome. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Plus, any place you can get an ice cold Tiger beer and a coconut tapioca smoothie is a huge plus! We’ll be back with friends and family!

I give this place 3 stars because it’s nothing special. They do things decently. Food wasn’t spectacular. Overall, I wouldn’t return. Great service though! I went with my sister and aunt. They feel the same way. Food was just basic, I could probably make the same at home.

The worst food and service in Tucson! The chicken tasted like cat ears and they did not give us the right order! We picked it up and took it home to eat, but threw most of it away. Lesson learned. I had a guest at a vacation rental that warned against this place.

A nice spot to fulfill that crisp-tender vegetables, rice, spicy… all the things you want and love about Viet food — craving. I opted instead of takeout to dine in this time and get a real handle on their service and the speed of sit-down food. Eating solo is always a little weird but their lending bookshelf by the door supplied me with a(not so good but) welcome distraction. The spicy garlic shrimp ringed by still-snappy broccoli helped, too. I find the pricing of the menu a little strange but it’s possible it’s related to portion size. You won’t want for rice, I promise. The phở are served in a bowl that could be used as a bucket. Family options are included on the menu for sharing, too. Service with a smile for sure, and delivered just as quickly as takeout, though it was later in the evening and the dining room was mostly bare. The Thai tea with bubbles was a different experience than I’m used to but all the sweetness and richness of the tea you know and love. I yearn for good Asian food in the desert and Ha Long soothes the soul.

Best Phô in Tucson! I love this place on the few chilly days we have a year. The Viet beef and spring rolls are awesome. Anytime I’m in there there’s manager or owner overseeing g everything and offering suggestions on traditional eating. The place is clean and the house Phô is full of ingredients. Go. Here.

Try to eat here when possible. Clean dining. Decent service. Always friendly and always flavorful. Had the phở soup this time. Just a nice herb flavor with natural spices. Just a little different than other phở soups around town. Nice change. I usually like to get their crispy rolls for an appetizer. Just love the mint etc that is served with them.

Impressed! Tried the traditional Phở beef soup with noodles, thinly sliced beef, mild broth, and green onion. On the side they bring cilantro, sliced jalapeño and bean sprouts to add if you wish. I added a teaspoon of the hot chili sauce and sweet plum sauce. The only part I wad t a fan of was the beef tendon, but it added to the flavor. Appetizer were two large sized summer rolls with a peanut sauce. Service? Spectacular! My waiter offered suggestions on what sauce to use and frequently checked in on me. I’ve had Vietnamese a couple of times, this pushed it more towards the love it.

Dear Spicy Beef Phở, I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I miss you. I often think of our times together, me enjoying your delicious broth, and nibbling on your meatballs. Perhaps we will see each other soon. I hope you think of me too.

My relatives, visiting from Sedona, and I were searching for the right restaurant. It had to offer gluten-free options. We didn’t know where to go as I didn’t live on this side of Tucson. We happened upon this restaurant in a strip mall on the north side of Tanque Verde, without knowing a thing about it. However, all the cars parked in front of it told the story. It was Sunday night and it was packed! So in we went, off on our culinary adventure — and it was great fun! We found Ha Long Bay very friendly, with a casual ambiance, and a strong family feel. The menu offered plenty of choices. My relatives didn’t know anything about Phở, so one tried a beef-broth based Phở soup, while the other ordered a vegetarian vegetables and tofu dish. I asked the server what she liked, so I ordered that — a curry vegetable and chicken dish. The vegetarian tofu dish was good, with tofu at just the right texture. The Phở soup was full of rice noodles and goodies, with a super tasty broth. It came with a plate full of fresh veggies such as bean sprouts and green leaves, plus lemon and a few other accouterments. My relative loved it! And my dish was the taste winner of all three, a flavorful, gingery, curry, lemongrass-like flavor with a slight kick and lots of enjoyment! My relatives also got a mango beverage, which they enjoyed. The food came fast, despite a very full house, including a huge long table seating one group of probably 20-some-odd people. We patted ourselves on our backs, as we realized we had picked a true winner! It was reasonable, good quantity of food and all done tastily. This restaurant is located far away from me(I’m in the northwest), but I do plan to come back and enjoy more. My relatives were trying to figure out how to bring some of this great food back to Sedona.(Hear that, owners? Maybe you need to open a restaurant up in northern AZ!) I took a few photos so you, the reader, can enjoy the goodies, too!

I have been eating here quite often too. Ha Long Bay Rice is very good. That’s the only meal I ordered every time. A couple of times I ordered Phở and Bun Bo Hue, they were okay, not great. This place not taking American Express card(company credit card for travel) so I don’t come as often as the other Vietnamese restaurant.
