A gaggle of us gals met for dinner & «beverages». Weather was awful outside; however, the atmosphere was great inside. They were out of my Porter & our wait-dude(he was attentive) recommended the Wicked Weed’s Zibalba that was a pumpkin/yam brew. After a sample I became a fan. Before the evening meal was served more at our table went with Zibalba. The food was per it’s usual… great. I love my chicken salad melt & everyone else went with the famous pizzas. As an appetizer try the black bean risotto cake. And bottle wine was half price. All in all Shorty’s doesn’t disappoint. Thanks Shannon for managing an Tucker Institution. PS: Thanks Swami! You rock with that guitar & music.

Went there again, this time being my second time. The first time I went here I had a really bad experience to say the least. Due to that, my review was not great. However, the manager Shannon reached out to me and apologized for my unpleasant experience and offered me me a free dinner on the house. Four months later, I finally took the offer up and went to Shorty’s for dinner this evening. All I can say is WOW! What a drastic difference in experience. The waitress(Sarah, I think was her name) we had was super sweet and very attentive. The entire staff was very sincere and apologetic for our prior experience and the food was hot and fresh! I’m so glad Shannon(the manager) reached out to us! This has definitely changed my prior opinion on your business and I would definitely come back again! Thank you guys!

Great quality pizza and overall a pretty good menu. Wood-fire pizza so it’s going to cost a bit more, but overall fair prices.

I overlooked this place for years. What a mistake! This place is awesome. Great pizza, one of best pizza joints in the Atlanta area. The tastes does vary from time to time bested on the pizza baker, but the quality is ALWAYS there, add that to great customer service and you got the best Gem of Tucker!

My last meal with my friends in Tucker before leaving Atlanta on my epic September 2015 mega trip, we decided on having something simple and fresh, so it was Shorty’s. It was nearby where I was staying, so nothing says fun and delicious was a large pizza, booze, and fun. We opted to be here around 7:30pm on a crisp Wednesday evening. We spent about an hour or so here, since I needed an early start the next morning, as an 8am flight out of ATL can be crazy if you are stuck on the I-285 or elsewhere during morning rush hour. I was told that Shorty’s was a pretty good place for pizza and they weren’t lying. The pizza was good, depending on what you were having. My friends and I haggled on the details on what constituted a good pizza, but in the end, I ended up getting a veggie pizza, whereas my friend’s husband got a weird mix of garlic and something. I wanted portobello, basil, and eggplant. It was wicked good combination! It’s always great when portobello is on the menu for pizza, but that’s probably just me. My friend and I loved the veggie pizza so much that I got treated for the meal. I just needed to pay the gratuity. This visit to Shorty’s was pretty short and sweet. No fuss or muss. Shorty’s is located at 3701 Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker, GA. They accept major credit cards and the parking is always fun to get. Sometimes it can be a hassle to get parking, but it wasn’t when we rolled through here on a nonchalant Wednesday evening. The building where Shorty’s was a cute rustic building that is apart of a small commercial cul de sac. The prices here were pretty decent for pizza and all its accessories. My friend got a salad and we shared the veggie pizza, whereas my friend’s husband had his own create your favorite pizza, which he got all to himself. For the most part, a visit to Shorty’s was a good choice. Not too much hassle and you get what you pay for. Pizza with the right kind of love and ingredients can make your night a great one. The restaurant was clean and organized. We actually got seated right away, so we didn’t have to wait. Pretty awesome, actually. The service was decently good and fast. I think I ordered a glass of Pabst Blue Ribbon too, which was pretty tasty and complimented the meal. Maybe I should have gotten red wine, but all in all, it was a nice final meal with friends before leaving the east coast on my epic September 2015 trip. I’d recommend Shorty’s for good pizza and liquor, if you are in the area. Support local! B+

Unfortunately, I think Shorty’s has gone downhill. The burger I ordered medium rare was very well done. The potatoes don’t have the same flavor as they used to. We won’t be back. :(

Pizza was pretty good. A little greasy but still pretty good. Passing by you might not think Shorty’s will be a good place to eat but if you give it a chance you’ll enjoy it. They also have daily specials at the beginning of the week

I have been here a couple times now and I’ve always had carry out and have never dined in so this review is strictly for their carry out service. I never knew that Shorty’s existed until my friend introduced me to it. She hadn’t had their pizza either until we decided to order some for dinner one night. The first pizza that I had from them was their Biggie Smalls with soprasetta, roasted garlic, roasted onions, prosciutto and arugula. I timed the pick up of this pizza perfectly! The young man was just taking it out of the brick oven and he just needed to top it with the fresh arugula in order for me to take it home. I must say that this pizza is phenomenal to my taste buds! All of the ingredients compliment each other very well! I don’t know why it’s called Biggie(actually I don’t know they name many of their pizzas the way they do), but I maybe it’s the big explosion of taste in your mouth? The other pizza of theirs that I have also tried is the Snoop Dogg. Now this pizza has more simple ingredients than the Biggie — it includes salami, banana peppers, and feta chizzle(cheese). The taste of the ingredients together on this one is interesting. I don’t know what I was expecting the banana peppers to taste like, but the tartness of them give the overall pizza an interesting flavor profile. I wonder what it would be like if the banana peppers were replaced with jalepenos instead? Hmmm, that would be interesting. All in all, there are over 20+ different varieties of pizza on Shorty’s menu and I do plan to try them all in due time! :)

Shorty’s was actually very nice. I shouldn’t say this like I’m surprised, but when you live in NYC, its easy to become critical of pizza. We tried three pizzas: 1. DECLAN McMANUS(aka ELVISCOSTELLO) — White Pie, Potato, Roasted Tomatoes, Goat Cheese, Balsamic Drizzle, — This pizza was surprisingly very oily, my only complaint for an otherwise delicious pizza 2. CARLOSSANTANA — White Pie, Taco Seasoned Beef, Avocado, Pico de Gallo — This pizza did not taste like a white pizza, but it was delicious. Also, the avocado is more of a garnish than a topping(for the avocado lovers out there) 3. WUTANGCLAN(RIPODB) — Buffalo Chicken, Blue Cheese, Celery, Side of Ranch Dressing — Messy but delicious(if you like buffalo seasoning) I’ve been told service can be slow, but we were in and out within an hour, which was perfect for lunch. Atmosphere is casual, you seat yourself, but staff is attentive and refill drinks frequently. Their playlist is pretty stellar too, if you’re a semi-indie fan(side note: any place that plays old El Ten Eleven and Sylvan Esso is my kind of place). Also — on mondays all their food is 50% off(apparently).

This spot is cool but I think my big homie B.I.G. would be hot that they named a garbage pie after him, the Biggie Smalls pizza was fvckin horrible. I think they should take that shite off the menu. The flavors/ingredients don’t work well together. On the other hand the Diana Ross and The Supremes was decent but I think if I go back I would order a custom pie because they seem to have all the right ingredients, the key is to find the ones that work for you! Our server Blair if I’m not mistaken was great and she had great energy. I also got the vibe that the Chefs were pretty cool too. My wife got the pesto chicken sandwich and I had a bite and that joint was bomb! The drinks were also good too. Check this spot out but you been warned about Biggie, don’t mess wit him. RIP to the big homie.

First time here tonight and I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was awesome! We just for a cheese pizza with onions and pepperoni. My husband got the Cuban sandwich. The pizza sauce has a mild sweetness to it that makes it so yummy. The service was good and the manager Shannon is awesome. Totally recommend this place!

I admit: if I lived in the area, I’d probably drive by Shorty’s every day and never give a second thought to avoiding the place like the plague. From the outside, it’s a shack with huge, lit-up letters spelling out SHORTY’S on the outside. If it weren’t for a coworker’s urging, I would never have stepped foot into this place. We spent the weekend at Stone Mountain for a conference, so we decided it was the right time to try Shorty’s. Inside, this place is a mix of dive bar and family restaurant(if this is even something you can picture). There’s a hostess stand but not really, there’s a bar but not one that is central to the space… in a weird way, this restaurant is a place where almost everyone can feel comfortable. We sat at the bar and ordered three pizzas between the two of us. I know. Gluttons. But I’ve been meaning to try this place for over 2 years and the specialty pizza menu is far too extensive to just pick one! My favorite was a pizza that was served with pesto and pineapple. It’s that kind of creativity and frankly weird-ness that you just aren’t going to get anywhere else. It was PHENOMENAL. Our other pizzas were good, but just not quite as mind-blowingly great. Our second-favorite was the Carlos Santana. Our bartender/server Shannon was attentive, friendly, and treated us like we were coming to eat in her home. She provides the kind of service that makes you slide her a piece of paper asking if she’ll be your best friend at the end of the meal. Honestly that really goes for the entire staff at Shorty’s, but Shannon seems to be the glue that holds everyone together… something we could tell just from our short visit on a Friday night. I will absolutely be making it a point to visit Shorty’s when I’m in this area, and will definitely recommend to friends.

I think this may be my new favorite pizza joint! Tonight was our first visit. My hubby and I ordered tea, beer, a Johnny Jump-Up, and two small pizzas(the«John Lee Hooker» unaltered & the«Elvis Costello”+ onions, sausage and jalapeños), thinking we would have a lot left over for tomorrow. It was too scrumptious, though, and we ate all but two small pieces.(If only they delivered– and into Lilburn at that. Ah, well, prolly better for my waistline that they don’t…) Anyhow, Shorty’s has a great menu and drink selection, gave us a great meal given with very friendly and attentive service, leaving us with a great first impression and the desire to go back and try more.

This place never fails to deliver! The best pizza I ever ate was in Venice, Italy. Shorty’s is a very close second to that! They use a wood fire pizza oven, which is the best way to do pizza IMO. The crust is thin, but not cardboard gross like the chains. The menu is super fun, with all their pizza being given special names related to music artists. Tonight, I branched out and got the guacamole dip with pita bread(the *best* guac ever, and the pita was nice and warm and delicious as well). Also had, what I can only describe as, the best damned chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever had — EVER! It was served on house made foccia bread that was its own magical heaven(brushed with angel tears and unicorn smiles). The chicken salad itself was divine, with dill and walnuts. The best part, it was served wrapped in provolone, so the chicken salad wasn’t just smeared on bread, but tucked neatly, like a patty, onto the bread. Heaven! I am not even a big fan of chicken salad usually, but OMG!!! The service at this place is always stellar. I wish I could recall our server’s name tonight, but I can’t. Not only is the food amazing, but the local brew beer is always different and delicious! If you live near here, go try it soon! If you live away from here, load up the family and bring them in! Shorty’s is where you should be having pizza night!

Ordered a pizza over the phone here after reading some reviews. Was told it’d be ready in 15 – 20 minutes. Showed up to pick it up 20 minutes later and it turns out they never submitted the order. The girl that took my order was very apologetic and offered me a beer or two while I waited for them to cook it. They genuinely cared that they made an error and wanted to do whatever it took to make it right. Was definitely refreshing to see quality customer service like that, instead of just brushing it off. Overall, pizza was great and the customer service even better!

I used to stop by Shorty’s every week on my way to the airport. Rachel, behind the bar, always took great care of me and made great margaritas. Then she left, and things seemed to go downhill for Shorty’s overall. I was ready to give up on them until Shannon saved the day. She’s friendly, helpful and gives great recommendations. The place has been remodeled, and the food is back to its former greatness. I now live in Suwanee so I’m not going to the airport every week, but when I pick up my college son for breaks, we’ve made it our ritual to stop at Shorty’s on the way home. P. S. Shannon doesn’t work on Saturdays

Living in Tucker for almost 3 years and I’m just trying Shorty’s! Geesh! I may have to make this a regular spot. My best friend & I came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner. Upon walking inside we saw a board stating ‘ALLSANDWICHESAREHALFOFF’. That alone made my eyes dart to the sandwich section of the menu one we were seated. We opted to sit in the corner section in the far right corner. From this angle, we’re able to see the stage where the live band plays, the bar and anyone who enters. The menu is pretty darn cool. There are tons of pizzas named after celebrities. I didn’t get one of these but I decided to build my own pizza. I got my pizza with extra cheese, chicken, spinach and bacon. I got a small size, thick crust pizza. I couldn’t only eat 2 and a half slices. I brought the rest home for my boyfriend, who demolished it for his dinner. The pizza was tasty, nothing spectacular to me but I’d definitely eat here again. Next time, opting for a large and a specialty pizza. For the pizza I ordered and all the toppings, the cost was $ 15. I wanted to get a drink but decided to just drink my water. Next time, I will try this drink they have on their menu with Crown Royal Apple, apple juice, nutmeg and something else they add. My best friend had a beer that I absolutely loved! It wasn’t on the menu but it wasn’t too sweet nor was it too harsh of a beer. It was just right. The service was A-OK. Didn’t get the waitresses name. She forgot my ranch that I ordered with my pizza, but hey it happens! I’ll be back soon. If you’re ever in the Tucker area, give Shorty’s a try. Have a nice brewski and some pizza while listening to some live music!
